For Birth Control "I started taking this pill the day my period started on October 22nd, and although my severe cramps are gone, my period has lasted far longer than what is normal for me. I started taking it to get rid of my debilitating painful cramps, but the bleeding is still fairly heavy and it's been like 10 days, almost 2 weeks! As opposed to my regular 4-7 day period with heavy bleeding and cramps that taper out and lessen towards the end, this time it's not even letting up. I have no cramps. Yay! But this is absurd. I'm going through all of my sanitary products, have horrible nausea, my severe depression has worsened, and my anxiety has spiked. I'm better off suffering the pain and heavy bleeding for a little while instead of no cramps but constant bleeding. I will be making an appointment to try something else, I don't recommend this birth control. Reading all of the other reviews, I'm glad to know others have had similar experiences and I'm not totally alone!"

For Birth Control "I was on Gildess for a year when all of the sudden the pharmacy switched me to Blisovi 1/20. For the last few months, I've been experiencing extreme anxiety to the point of jumping out of my skin. I can't sleep. I'm not sure if it's my anxiety or the pill causing my extreme nausea every day. But it's almost unbearable. I do not recommend this pill. I've been thinking, oh man, am I pregnant? Because of the nausea. So I thought, after months, let me look at some reviews. To my amazement, there isn't one good review on this pill. I haven't gained weight, but I feel like crap. Switching ASAP!"

For Birth Control "This birth control has made me lose control of myself. I don't feel like the same person I was before taking this pill two months ago. I have gained weight, had intense breast and lower abdominal pain, and my anxiety and depression have completely worsened. The only good thing is that my once 8-day periods are now only 4-5 days... but really, this OC sucks."

For Birth Control "I used to take Lo Loestrin but switched to Blisovi about 2 years ago because my insurance stopped covering LoLo. As far as preventing pregnancy, this pill has worked great, but everything else about it is terrible. I have persistent acne on my chin (including bad cysts), but worst of all is my anxiety has been through the roof since I started taking this brand. I'm constantly anxious, irritable, tired, depressed... I never in a million years experienced moods like this. It's affecting my relationship, and my mental health overall has completely gone down the drain. I've set up an appointment with my OBGYN to see if I can get off this stuff ASAP."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a while now, my pharmacy switched me from Junel Fe, and I genuinely thought everything happening to me was my own fault and that something was wrong with me. I started taking birth control for ovarian cysts and mild endometriosis. After doing tons of research, I’ve been finding that the crazy amount of hair loss, weight gain (I went from 120 to 130 in a short period), and cystic acne on my jawline and back is all from this pill. I’ve been so down and out from the way this pill has made me look and feel. Not to mention the back pain, anxiety, depression, low libido, and general lack of interest in my normal hobbies. I’m quitting immediately."

For Birth Control "I am currently on month 4. Pros: no period, no weight gain. Con: back acne (never had acne in my life), anxiety and depression (never really had either), and I am always tired! I know I have been going to bed at like 8:30! Wake up tired, tired throughout the day. UGH. I am done with this."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi 24 FE for my first usage of birth control pills ever. After reading so many of the negative reviews on here, I was extremely nervous and skeptical about starting the pill. But after three months, I'm happy to report I have not had one negative symptom. My period is four days and extremely light and I have little to no cramping. I have not gained any weight, seen an increase in acne, or felt any anxiety or depression as a result of the pill. The only change I am able to report is my boobs have grown and have been slightly tender as a result, but cannot complain. I am overall extremely pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "I am on my 4th month with this birth control. I am turning 19, and this is the first time I have used birth control, so I can't compare it to anything else. At first, I was really worried because my boobs were consistently sore. I used to be 107 lbs in August, and I am now 117 lbs. I also had anxiety and lots of stress. I thought it was just the workload, but from the other reviews, I have now learned I am not the only one suffering from stress. My periods have been lighter, before, they had been heavy, but now on this pill, I barely have a period. I was worried about this at first, but I consulted my doctor, and she said that it's common for spotting to occur in the first few months of taking the pill. I like it, though, I get less pain when on my period."

For Birth Control "Awful. I've been on birth control for 10 years, and I've never had a reaction like this. I was on Junel before they switched me to Blisovi. Ever since, I've been extremely moody/irritable, it made me feel anxious and lethargic. I can only describe it as feeling crazy. I can tell my reactions are irrational, but my emotions are getting the better of me (so much so that it's been straining my relationship). When I restarted the pack after my week off, I became nauseous and had headaches all day the first day taking it. I was scared to take it again the second day but thought my body would adjust. It's been three months, and if anything, the symptoms are getting worse. Wouldn't recommend to ANYONE."

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi because Junel Fe was recalled. I agree with the others about extreme breast soreness and nausea during the first few days. My first month was tolerable after I got beyond the first week. The second month got a little better, and I never experienced weight gain, acne, or mood swings (I don't think. Lol). The pharmacy then switched me to another generic of this form, named Noreth/ethin, because Blisovi was not available. I took that with the same side effects, and now I'm back on Blisovi. I'm not happy with all the sudden changes. I wish Junel Fe would come back. These are all not the same, even though they say they are. I get anxiety every time I go to the pharmacy now. I never know what I'm going to get."

For Birth Control "I was initially prescribed Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. After 2 months of heavy breakthrough bleeding, my doctor changed me to Blisovi Fe 1.5. I've now been on Blisovi for 4 months. The only positive I can say is that it stopped the bleeding. My top 3 complaints are: anxiety, acne, and weight gain. I am constantly on edge and jump at everything. Every month, when I start Week 3, my face gets extremely dry overnight and peels as if I have a sunburn, then cystic acne comes in full force. I've never had an issue with acne in my entire life! I've also gained 10 pounds with zero diet change. My doctor asked me to give it a few months, and as of this morning, he agreed to change me to Yaz. If you are researching and are on the fence, DON'T TAKE BLISOVI!"

For Birth Control "I was switched to Blisovi after my other generic was discontinued. I was on it for two months before realizing that it was almost certainly the cause of the severe anxiety, depression, and mood swings I'd been having for two months. There were days I couldn't function because my anxiety had gotten so high, and nothing was actually going on for me to be anxious about. I finally realized that it started pretty much right when my BC got switched, so I'm going off of it now. I have never felt so miserable in my life."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill because I had irregular periods and was really tired and thought it was going to help me. After the third day of taking it, I started having nausea, vomiting, and headache. Then I started having very bad mood swings to the point that I would get mad at every single person around me. It gave me anxiety, depression, and every bad side effect you can think of. I will never take this pill again."

For Birth Control "Was okay the first two weeks on Blisovi 24, other than hardly being able to eat as I had zero appetite. The third week - I was losing my mind. The anxiety got so bad I couldn’t leave the house, which has NEVER been a problem for me. The nausea was so horrible, it kept me up all night. I’ve learned this medication is KNOWN for causing anxiety, and my doctor actually prescribed this to me knowing I have an anxiety disorder. I’d take the gushing periods from Cryselle over this garbage any day."

For Birth Control "My personal experience was a nightmare that ended up with me in the ER. I was prescribed Blisovi 24 Fe to eliminate bleeding. The first two weeks I thought I was a little emotional, a little more tired and hungry - but nothing I would report to a doctor on. It’s the third week I started getting migraines. I would take Aleve, migraine medicine daily (I’ve had the migraine medication for two years that I never really needed before I was now). It all culminated with a racing heart, headache with pain through my jaw, and so much anxiety I was convinced I was having a heart attack. A HEART ATTACK!!! I’m three days off this medicine, and I already feel like myself again! This was not for me at all. I’ll take a hysterectomy over one more of these awful pills. If researching methods to stop heavy bleeding, I’d advise trying other options first."

For Birth Control "I have the most severe nausea I have ever had in my life. It’s been so bad that I only feel somewhat okay when I am munching on something throughout the day. I have been experiencing anxiety/fast heartbeats, which I never had before. Random burping throughout the day. I feel faint at random times that I shouldn’t, random hot flashes when it is only 65 degrees in the room. I am only 30 years old and have never had such a completely horrible experience with medication before. This is worse than all 3 trimesters of pregnancy combined."

For Birth Control "I've seen a lot of negative reviews about Blisovi 24, but don't let that scare you into not trying it. I've been taking this for 3+ years, and I've had no issues with it (or at least that I can directly attribute to the pill). Maybe a bit of heightened anxiety here and there, and sometimes vaginal dryness/decreased libido, although I'm not sure if the pills or my own stress was causing that. My periods have been lighter and more regular, and I don't break out often. It does what it's supposed to do. I've stopped taking it for over a month and didn't feel much different in terms of sex drive/anxiety, so I went back on. Of course, not every pill works for everyone, but this one works for me!"

For Birth Control "I read so many negative reviews about this birth control, and I was terrified to start it as a result. The first month was pretty hard. The side effects varied by day. I started feeling them after 5 days of starting, and I became a bit depressed for 2 or 3 days after that. I had a bit of depressive fluctuations (like one-hour intervals) for about a week afterwards, and then they stopped completely. After that, I had a bit of a grace period before experiencing unexplainable anxiety. That lasted for about a week, and I was EXTREMELY tempted to stop this medication at this point. A lot of my friends/family had told me to finish the first month's worth and then decide. I am very glad that I decided to stick it out. Every one of my side effects went away right at the end of my first month. My periods are so much better (lighter, easier). Yes, the first month is very hard. However, the side effects are temporary. It does just come down to how long your body takes to adjust."

For Birth Control "My daughter is 15 and has very heavy periods. Her doctor recommended this pill to help. It has been a complete nightmare! And it's only been 6 weeks. She has had some GI issues in the past, so we thought the issues were due to that. However, within the first month (close to her period), she was in severe pain: lower abdominal with back, shoulder, leg pains with tingling, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, 4 lb weight gain (and she's very active), bloated, loss of appetite, acne around her mouth and chin, and then all of a sudden the extreme depression and anxiety. Due to her previous issues, we didn't equate it to the pill. We've been to hospitals, specialists, and not once did anyone say anything about the birth control she was on. After reading the reviews of Blisovi, it all made sense. We are taking her off of this starting today. This is a very dangerous drug!"

For Birth Control "As a teen, I never had acne or cramps, and once I became sexually active, I started taking a different birth control for obvious reasons. After 2 years with no problems, I went off it because I started getting acne. It was only after I stopped taking it that my skin became terrible. I'm talking a full chinstrap of god-awful acne for months. I then went on Lomedia/Blisovi, and it slowly but surely cleared my skin up. However, Lomedia/Blisovi completely stopped my periods. Won't complain about that, but it did result in very heavy, thick, constant discharge. I think it also affected my mood. Not sure if it was life or the pill, but I became anxious, moody, and depressed. Never gained weight or had cramps, but I'm scared to go off it for acne's sake."

"The only reason that I gave it a 1 is because you cannot give it a 0. I do not recommend this BC. After 3 days of taking the medication, I experienced cramping and an increase in body temperature. It resolved a week in. However, I gained a total of 15 lbs over a two-month span due to this medication. I run 3 miles every day and do a total body workout 3x a week, and my weight still increased, and no matter what workout I did, it would not go away. In addition, I experienced high anxiety and a depressed mood to the point that my family started to notice and expressed concerns. I thought that maybe it was due to a high level of stress in my work life; however, I am a normally healthy and happy 24-year-old, and something was not right. Also, my breasts became so tender to the point that it hurt to sleep on my side, and I experienced hot flashes throughout the day and at night. This medicine is TERRIBLE, and DO NOT TAKE IT."

For Birth Control "I got put on this after Lo Loestrin. The low dose birth control did not regulate my cycle at all. This birth control did its job for me, I didn’t get pregnant, and my cycles were normal and very light. But after the one-year mark, things got crazy. I became extremely anxious and depressed and entered a really dark place in my mind. I was always crying and overwhelmed and couldn’t figure out why until I stopped taking this birth control, and even then it took a few months to be back to myself!"

For Birth Control "I would NOT recommend Blisovi Fe to ANYONE. The only reason that I switched to this pill to begin with is because my insurance company stopped covering name brands. The first few months I thought the weight gain and mood swings were just side effects of having a baby earlier, and that they would subside after the first few months. Boy, was I wrong. I gained almost 40 lbs in 6 months, my depression and anxiety have both skyrocketed, and it’s come to the point that I can’t even take care of my son to my best ability because I get such terrible back pain and headaches. Not to mention that breakthrough bleeding has become a “normal” and frequent occurrence from month to month. Despite the fact that it’s managed to prevent pregnancy and somewhat regulate my period, I cannot wait to get to my doctor and get off this pill. If you are considering Blisovi Fe as a contraceptive, start considering otherwise. Do NOT take this birth control, it will ruin your life."

For Birth Control "I took this pill after switching off Lo Loestrin Fe for cost reasons, and I regret it. I'm much more moody and anxious all the time, and I have severe cramps on this pill, while I had none on Lo Loestrin. I'm switching to a new pill, but I wish I would have realized these and other bad side effects were caused by the Blisovi sooner, so I didn't have to suffer for so long!"
