For Chlamydia Infection "Was diagnosed with chlamydia this morning, sadly, and was prescribed two 500 mg tablets to be taken at once. After about an hour and a half of taking them, I got the most excruciating stomach pain I've ever experienced. The pain was so bad I couldn't stand up straight without feeling like I was going to vomit everywhere. It's been about two and a half hours since I took them now, and my stomach is starting to calm down, no diarrhea 'so far,' but if it will get rid of the infection, I'm happy."

For Chlamydia Infection "The first time I took this for chlamydia was in 2014. A few hours after taking it, I had terrible stomach cramps, had to run to the bathroom to vomit and use the toilet at the same time. Nothing was coming out, so I just sat on the toilet trying to figure out what was going on. The next day, I had hives that went away within an hour. I wasn’t informed of any side effects. The pills treated the infection. Fast forward to now. I took two 500 mg pills a couple of days ago for a chlamydia reinfection, and immediately after taking it, I had super intense stomach pain. I couldn’t even take the bus from the clinic that was only a few blocks from my house, where they administered the pills. I had to call an Uber. I did have the pills crushed up by my physician because I have problems with swallowing pills, especially ones as large as these. And I took the pills on an empty stomach. I just hope that these pills treat me because the side effects are terrible."

For Chlamydia Infection "Honestly... I wish someone would have told me what I was getting myself into with taking this. And also I do understand everyone’s reaction is different, but I just wish I could’ve prepared myself. I had the WORST stomach cramps and stomach pain I’ve ever had in my life! Similar to a previous food poisoning experience... I took Gravol before since my doctor said it could cause some nausea, but this was beyond anything I’d ever imagined. Shortly after the cramping started, I had UNCONTROLLABLE diarrhea! I feel so lucky I wasn’t driving or working. It lasted several hours, and I even woke up in the middle of the night to more cramps and..... you know what... It’s the next day, and I’m still having cramps and stomach gurgles. Ugh. I have no idea of the effectiveness at this time, but definitely the worst side effects I’ve ever had from medication."

For Chlamydia Infection "My test came back positive for chlamydia. That Saturday morning, I called to see when my prescription would be in Monday noon. I couldn't make it to CVS on Monday, so Tuesday morning I woke up, went and got my medicine-four pink pills (250 mg). I have to take it all at once. So, remind you, I haven't eaten anything all day. I took the pills one by one, back to back. Like 30 minutes later, my upper stomach was hurting so bad, and I thought maybe if I go to sleep, the pain will go away. I fell asleep, the stomach still hurt but not as bad as it did before I went and took a nap. Then my booty started to sweat and I had to go to the bathroom. I dookied two times (it was diarrhea). I felt so much better. But before and after the medication, I had no symptoms of the STD."

For Sinusitis "I had to stop this drug early because it gave me such bad stomach pain. I'm allergic to penicillin, so this was the next choice for my sinus/ear infection. Even tried with a full meal and probiotics, but it took my stomach a full month to return to normal after stopping azithromycin, will not be taking again."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the 4 tablets at one time. This medicine was the best and also the worst medicine to take. It was great because it worked amazing, everything was gone. The side effects were horrible. For an hour, I was fine, and once the hour hit, I was sick to my stomach. I threw up a few times, and then I had the worst stomach pain for a few hours until I finally fell asleep. Overall, worth it though its effects people different, but if you want the infection gone, this is the go-to."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the 2 pills as soon as I got in. Within 30 minutes, I felt the stomach pains. Felt sleepy, which was nice because I didn't have to feel the stomach pains. After I woke up, the pains continued, and then I felt nauseous and vomited. After that, the pains stopped, and everything felt great. Can finally eat now."

For Chlamydia Infection "So I have had a chlamydia infection for what feels like forever. After the 10-day doxycycline treatment didn't help, I was prescribed more doxycycline and also a total of 1500 mg of azithromycin. The first 1000 mg I took after reading all the reviews and thus made sure to eat and drink a lot before taking it. I took it approx. an hour before sleeping and had no trouble at all except for some mild stomach pain when I woke up. I wholeheartedly recommend taking this medicine after dinner before going to bed."

For Chlamydia Infection "I took 2 pills at the same time around 7:50 pm. I had eaten a spicy chicken sandwich around 4:30, and I had a slice of pizza at about 7:35 pm. About 20-30 minutes after taking this medicine, I had hot flashes, sleepiness, stomach pain, and nausea. I ran to the restroom twice, releasing everything I had eaten. I messed up and took a few sips of 7-Up and continued to puke for about an hour. My boyfriend then got me a ginger ale, and I'm fine but really sleepy. I recommend taking it at night in the comfort of your own home. But I'm curious to know if I need to take the medicine again or wait it out for the follow-up test?"

For Chlamydia Infection "I went to my OBGYN for a yearly exam and swab. I was feeling perfectly fine and confident that my results would come back crystal clear. So, imagine my surprise when it came back that I had Chlamydia. My doctor prescribed me azithromycin. I had the two 500 mg tablets that you take at one time. Thankfully I had a full stomach before I took them. So, I had no nausea, stomach pains, or any of that, thank goodness! However, I did get a yeast infection from it. But everyone’s body is different. It definitely does do its job by clearing up the Chlamydia though."

For Bacterial Infection "My doctor prescribed me this medication for an infection I had. The SIG was to take 2 by mouth at one time (both 500mg tablets). So I took them after I ate food. About 5 minutes later, my whole body was sweating, I became weak, had horrible stomach pains, and I felt like I was going to throw up everywhere. My mom said that I got pale looking in the face. I wanted to go to the hospital so bad, but I just calmed down. I went to my room and instantly fell asleep and woke up feeling way better. THIS MEDICATION HAS HORRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS, NEVER AGAIN!"

For Sinusitis "Took this 10 hours ago, 1-2 hours in stomach pain or heart pain? I can't tell, but it's very unpleasant. Nervous, ear and sinus pain too. I still haven't taken the second dose for today, skeptical because this feeling this drug has given me is very unpleasant. Not to mention the FDA warned about it in 2012. Will be calling my doctor when they open. Probably not taking the second dose tonight."

For Chlamydia Infection "So let me make everyone feel better. I'm 9 weeks pregnant, almost 10 weeks, and you can imagine my feeling from getting an STI from the father of my child. Well, I read this and was extremely scared. The reason I think everyone is throwing up is because of the food you're eating before you take this. Anything spicy or greasy is going to hurt your digestive system, honest. Eat a full meal but bland. I ate 2 bowls of macaroni and cheese made with water, cheese, and butter. I drank one bottle of water, let it digest for 20 minutes. I took the medicine, afterwards ate crackers and had ginger ale. My best advice: just go to sleep after taking this. Take this at home, before bed where you have nothing to do. At about 3:45 a.m. (I took it at 11:20 p.m. because I had work that night) I got some stomach pains that just felt like intense gas pains and moved around a bit. I probably went to the bathroom from 4 to 6 but only a total of 2 times, and since I ate so bland, it really wasn't that bad."

For Chlamydia Infection "I've taken azithromycin twice now, both the pill and liquid form. It was effective in getting rid of my infection, but it made me violently ill. I'm unable to work because I collapse, vomit constantly, have terrible stomach pains to the point where I'm completely immobile, and I get fatigued. I'm sure for some people it doesn't affect them, but for those that do; it's absolutely horrific."

For Chlamydia Infection "I did not know I had chlamydia until I got my regular check-up. I took these pills (two azithromycin 500 mg pills [1000 mg total]) right after eating McDonald's. Started to feel nauseous maybe an hour or so later. I did not vomit, but I did go to the bathroom twice. The stomach pains were in my upper stomach near my ribs, and it was slightly painful. The first stool was normal but slightly loose. The second stool was loose but not watery. After going to the bathroom the second time, I felt a lot better. I am not nauseous as of right now, and hopefully I won't be anymore. I can't stand feeling nauseous. Definitely will be more careful in the future. It's nothing unbearable, but if I don't have to go through it again, I hope and pray I won't."

For COPD, Acute "I was prescribed this about Nov 2014, 1 tablet a day. After two weeks of being afraid to step over the doorway, I stopped taking it, it caused severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and nausea. My consultant had prescribed it to try to stop me from getting infections and possibly reduce my steroid intake (maintenance dose of 20 mg per day, been on them daily since March 1992 for asthma). Last month, he persuaded me to try again but to take alternate days for a month, and then if okay, ask my GP to add to my prescription. From the start, the nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps came back, followed by itchiness, headache, and shooting pain in my right ear. I have persevered for the month but will not be asking GP for more."

For Chlamydia Infection "11 weeks pregnant and took this for a sinus infection. 500 mg for 3 days. Stomach pain that starts about an hour after taking and lasts for several hours. I have a rock-solid stomach, so no diarrhea, but terrible gas! Not fun stuff, but when you're allergic to the --cillin family, there's not much choice!"

For Chlamydia Infection "I just took 4 pills and ate some yogurt as the pharmacist told me to do if my stomach was feeling blah. After I had only a couple small spoonfuls of yogurt, I was so nauseous and dizzy and sweaty. I did gag a couple of times but didn’t throw up. I then put an ice pack on my neck and lay down on my bed. Then I switched the ice pack to my chest. I lay there for about an hour with stomach pains and a nauseating feeling. When the hour (or a bit less) was up, I was feeling fine again. I would suggest to people to lay down and close your eyes. This feeling will pass and you’ll be fine. Don’t read all the comments because I did, and I started freaking out. You’ll survive."

For Chlamydia Infection "So my ex-partner told me he had been positive for chlamydia, so I went to the doctor to get tested, and she gave me the pills right away! I had to take 2 azithromycin. After about 3 hours, I was getting mild stomach pains for about 10 minutes, then had to rush to the toilet and had diarrhea so bad! Was sitting on the toilet for a good 15 minutes! After that, I thought it was all good but went again an hour later. It's now 3:50 a.m., and I woke up to it once again and literally pooping like a waterfall! It's so worth getting rid of this STI though! But far out, feels like I took laxative tablets!"

For Bronchitis "After the first dose of 2 pills at 250 mg, about 5 hours later, I started having terrible stomach pains and considered stopping the medication. This is my 3rd day on the 5-day Z pack, and I feel a lot better. Hoping I will not have any more side effects, but so far, so good."

For Chlamydia Infection "It’s gonna be okay! I took the 2 tablets of 500 mg each after I ate a frozen pizza and downed a ton of water, I should have eaten toast. BUT! My stomach pain and nausea only lasted a couple of hours! For the first 30-45 minutes, I felt fine and started to crimp my hair as I do when I’m bored. Halfway through, I felt like I was going to hurl. I sat on the toilet with a towel in my lap for about 15 minutes, just breathing, trying not to throw up, but I was tempted. My doctor told me I’d have to retake the meds if I threw up within an 8-12 hour period, so I decided, "That is so not going to happen, I’m gonna pull through this." I curled up in my bed in a fetal position, this is about 1 hour and 15 minutes into taking the meds. For about 15 minutes, I laid there, and my tummy was growling, and I felt gas bubbles, and I actually farted a lot. But by the 2-hour mark, I was back to feeling absolutely normal. Crossing my fingers it works, but just drink water and remember to breathe."

For Chlamydia Infection "I ate a piece of bread and some fries when I took it, as well as a bottle of water. Within the hour of me taking it, I got a little nauseous, felt stomach pains, felt sleepy, and my vision felt weird for about an hour. When I started feeling sick, I had a mint and drank a bottle of sparkling water. I felt fine after that. I did eat a sandwich when I started feeling better, and that brought back the stomach pains slightly, but nothing too bad. No more nausea or sleepiness and weird vision."

For Chlamydia Infection "Second time having chlamydia. First time I took 2 pink pills and was fine. This time, I'm sitting on the toilet as we speak. I can't get off the toilet. Having visual disturbances, sharp stomach pains, but felt immediate relief. Glad I didn't have to work today."

For Bacterial Infection "Had to take azithromycin for bacterial infection as no option for bronchiectasis. I'm on a long-term low dose. Been taking since July. Have some tummy pain on the days I take them, but nothing extreme. My cough has reduced greatly and phlegm has also reduced. My energy levels have increased, and I am able to function in a semi-normal way again. No other antibiotics worked. Five chest infections in a year and four other antibiotics had no effect. I cannot knock this drug, it works for me."
