For Overactive Bladder "Went on Gemtesa after my doctor took me off Oxybutynin due to the blood-brain barrier issue and it causing dementia and confusion. Tried solifenacin, which didn't work for me at all. Gemtesa was great, was on it for 3 weeks with samples from the doc. Worked perfectly, no side effects at all for me. Unfortunately, with insurance and a coupon from the website, the cost is $95 a month, so this drug is out for me, and we'll see if I have better luck on a 4th option."

For Overactive Bladder "My doctor gave me samples of Gemtesa, and it worked great for my bladder without the horrible dry mouth of the other drug I was on (Oxybutynin). I took it at night before bed. After a week, I woke up with a ringing in my left ear, but it faded after about an hour. The next day, both ears were ringing when I woke up, but it would fade away after a few hours. After a couple of days, both ears were constantly ringing. I told my doctor, and he had me stop taking the drug to see if it cleared up. After a week or so, the ringing quit, but my bladder stayed calm for several weeks. With the remaining samples, I found that I could take one, and it would calm my bladder for a week or longer. I would have stayed on it, taking it as needed, but my insurance doesn't cover it."

For Overactive Bladder "Been taking this now about 2 weeks. So far, I like it, but I am having some of the lesser side effects, such as sinus, phlegm, and coughing issues. Dosage is 75 mg once a day, taken in the mornings. As far as the overactive bladder/incontinence, it's really seemed to help a lot, especially when driving!"

For Overactive Bladder "Excellent. Generally take it only when I expect to be out and about for a good part of the day, and it works wonderfully. It reduces the urge and helps you control your normal response if you have urge incontinence."

For Overactive Bladder "Gemtesa was the only med that was working. I even had the implant put in. I have Medicare and Medicare Advantage through Anthem. In 2024, it was $95 per 30 pills, which was expensive, but it was working. Come January 2025, it went up to $240 per 30 pills. I cannot afford this. I told my doctor I cannot afford it. She put me on another medication, and we are back to square one. I am shopping around for a new medical insurance company with excellent prescription care. No one cares."

For Overactive Bladder "Worked immediately. Feel like I got my life back. No negative side effects that I recognize. Daily dosage 75 mg. Alongside, I do Kegel exercises twice a day as well as daily strengthening exercises for the pelvic floor. I have been using this medication for about six months. I hope to discuss with my physician reducing the dosage or discontinuing taking the medication without reoccurring overactive bladder problems."

For Overactive Bladder "I have a temporary ureteral stent in after shockwave lithotripsy for a kidney stone. My bladder won't tolerate the stent, and I became completely incontinent, with no bladder control and a constant, unbearable urge to pee. The urologist gave me solifenacin to treat the urge incontinence, but it had no effect whatsoever and made me feel sick. By the third day, I was so miserable, I called the doctor and pleaded for some other drug. He gave me a 7-day sample of 75 mg Gemtesa to use with the solifenacin. It was effective immediately. I went from using 10 diapers a day to just two. Each day on it, the urge to pee became less and less, and I regained control over my bladder. By day 5, the urge was virtually gone, and I had complete control back. I was still feeling sick though. I stopped taking the solifenacin, and within a day, I no longer felt sick and my appetite returned. The urologist gave me another 7-day supply. I've been on it 10 days and have no side effects."

For Overactive Bladder "This worked very well for me by day 2. I do have to take a stool softener every other day. I wish it were not so expensive! I try to wean myself off of it and take it every other day, then every three days. It does work for a while, and then I go back to more frequent."

For Overactive Bladder "Nine days after I started taking Gemtesa, I could make it to the bathroom without leaking and needing to change my pad. Within 3 weeks, I could go 4 hours without leaking day or night. Now, occasionally if I go over 5 hours, I sometimes leak a small amount. I would say it has improved my problem by 95%. Side effects I have noticed are a runny nose and a headache."

For Overactive Bladder "It helped curb the incontinence but did not stop it. I still do not always make it to the bathroom in time, but the wetting is not a full release like it originally was. I have not noticed any side effects after 3+ weeks of taking this medication."

For Overactive Bladder "Gemtesa worked for me in just a few days. I've been on it for six weeks. I have had some gastro issues but don't know if Gemtesa is the cause. I also have some redness on my chest, not quite a rash, and don't know why that would happen suddenly after six weeks of use. Nothing that will cause me to stop using it. I'm very happy with the results of less urgency, fewer trips to the bathroom, and I can sneeze without leaking. Not having to always think about general overactive bladder issues is a game changer for this busy senior citizen. Pretty wonderful."

For Overactive Bladder "Was prescribed Gemtesa for urinary pain and urgency caused by endometriosis. Worked wonderfully for those symptoms! Fully reduced urethral pain and bladder aches. But caused a rare side effect of night sweats that got worse over time. After about three months, I had to stop the Gemtesa because the night sweats were too disruptive."

For Overactive Bladder "Gemtesa has significantly reduced the urgency to urinate, but not really the frequency. It seems once my bladder is full, I get a faint inkling that I have to go. I have a serious side effect that may lead to my ceasing taking Gemtesa, in that my stools are not recognizable, it just happens mostly when I urinate, but not always, which leads to some disgusting accidents."

For Overactive Bladder "I’ve been taking the drug for about eight months and have seen little results, if any, in my frequency of urinating. Some weeks it seems to work, other weeks, not so good. Inconsistent would best describe its effect."

For Overactive Bladder "I give Gemtesa a 10/10 for effectiveness. I am unable to take Detrol or Ditropan due to migraines and excessive thirst. I battled - if you know, you know - overactive bladder with urinary incontinence for one year due to kidney stone surgery. Gemtesa 100% worked within 5 days. Total cessation of urinary incontinence. My insurance (Tricare/Express Scripts) did cover the cost with prior medical review submitted from my doctor. Unfortunately, I guess I am the only person who has experienced a weight gain of 8 pounds within 5 weeks of starting it. I will take the weight gain over incontinence and overactive bladder any day. I’ve had no migraines as well. I thought this mention of weight gain is important for others. For reference as well, I am a 66-year-young female and have lymphedema. I plan to continue Gemtesa for as long as is needed."

For Overactive Bladder "This has helped so much to reduce frequency and urgency when nothing else has helped. I have a little hesitancy with urination, but I don’t mind that. It reduced my frequency from 30-60 minutes to 2-4.5 hours! No dry mouth side effect. I have only been taking samples from my doctor for 1 week. I see improvements every day."

"Gemtesa has provided almost 100% relief for my extreme 'URGE' incontinence. On the other hand, my 'STRESS' incontinence seems to be on the increase. I also experience considerable urine 'DRIBBLING'. As a result, I find it necessary to wear Depends 24/7. I also suffer from moderate constipation that may or may not be related to Gemtesa."

For Overactive Bladder "I've been taking 75 mg once per night, and it works well for my overactive bladder caused by interstitial cystitis. But within about a month, my legs have become completely dry and flaky. I've been using very rough loofahs, soft loofahs, no loofahs, but my results are the same. I am using CeraVe cream for itchy skin, which has always worked well for me, but not now. I am also using a moisturizing soap, but my legs are still scaly. Is this caused by the medication or the strength of the medication? I haven't had any other symptoms."

For Overactive Bladder "Gemtesa was the first medication that improved multiple issues I had with overactive bladder. It was effective and with quick results. I did not experience any side effects or problems with Gemtesa. I would, very much, like to continue taking it, however, with my insurance payment, I had to pay $200 per month. With fixed income, Social Security, and other medications I take, I cannot afford to continue Gemtesa. Great product, too expensive. Thanks."

For Overactive Bladder "I cannot RAVE enough about this drug. ZERO side effects. It started working after the first dose. I could cry. I have my life back. My urologist gave me a 2-month supply, but my cost through insurance is $165 for a 90-day supply. WORTH EVERY PENNY!"

For Overactive Bladder "I am not getting up at night as much by using Gemtesa. However, it is really expensive and I have new insurance, so I'm not sure if I can get a break. My last insurance charged me $70 for 90 days. The normal co-pay is over $300."

For Overactive Bladder "My urologist prescribed this medication for me when I complained of total urinary incontinence and that I wasn't liking having to wear depends all the time, changing them sometimes 4-5 times a day. She gave me a sample of this pill and if it didn't help, that we would meet in a month to discuss other options. It has helped me tremendously with no side effects whatsoever. The only negative comment I have is the high cost of the pills and they are not covered by my Medicare plan."

For Overactive Bladder "It works very well! It just may have worked too well since I’ve gone as much as 36 hours without urinating, when without it I can’t get very far away from a bathroom. Unfortunately, the cost in 2025 makes it too expensive for me to continue using it. My pharmacy said it increased $700/month. I’ve wondered if the increase was directly related to the success of the drug. If that turns out to be the case, I will forever boycott the company."

For Overactive Bladder "First treatment I've tried over the past 6 years that worked right away. Tried all the gotta-go meds, had the vagal stimulator treatments for a couple of years. They worked for a while, but effectiveness started to wane. My first week with Gemtesa was great. Before, I was using pads every day, becoming incontinent without being able to control my bladder. It's terrible when it happens at work when you are a teacher sub. The pads became irritating to my private area. Now I can go all day without wearing a pad! It's great. I do find I need to drink more fluids, but that is not a big problem. No other side effects. One 75 mg pill a day and it's done. My biggest problem is that my insurance does not cover it."

For Overactive Bladder "I've had overactive bladder following a TURP procedure to correct an oversized prostate gland. My urologist gave me some physician's samples that lasted for about a month. The results were excellent! I had more control over urination that saved many embarrassing moments. I notified the doctor (Jason Reynolds in Elizabethtown, KY) for a prescription. Bad news! Gemtesa isn't covered under my insurance plan and the cost was $1600. Dr. Reynolds is trying to get a special release of this medication for my condition, but so far no luck. I've used all of the sample stock as of 11/2. My symptoms of incontinence have returned."
