For Overactive Bladder "I tried the samples that my doctor gave me, and it worked wonders. Then I went to get it from Express Scripts, and they refused to fill it because it is not covered by my insurance. It is $500 a month, which I cannot afford to do. I already tried Botox, and that did absolutely nothing for me. Three times of that... no more. I'm just glad that I'm not the only one in this situation."

For Overactive Bladder "My doctor prescribed Gemtesa after having tried other meds that didn't help with my overactive bladder. Within a week, I noticed a major difference. It is doing so much more to alleviate my symptoms than anything previously. I can sleep through the night without 1-2 trips to the bathroom. The urgency is vastly reduced, as well as the number of trips to the bathroom throughout the day. One thing I have noticed is that it's increased my IBS-C issues. There has been increased gas and bloating, as well as worse constipation."

For Overactive Bladder "I tried pelvic floor physical therapy to help my overactive bladder. Then I tried Gemtesa for two weeks, and suddenly, my life changed. No more need for protective pads/garments. My self-esteem has soared! I no longer let my bladder control me. It really has been life-changing. No side effects whatsoever. The copay is pretty high for a senior woman on a fixed income, but I'll find a way to pay it."

For Overactive Bladder "I thought it was working for a couple of weeks, but now the problem is back. I was flooding, especially first thing in the morning. For a couple of weeks, it was much better, but not now. Oh well, I can't afford it either."

For Overactive Bladder "I started taking Gemtesa 5 days ago. I have been experiencing blotting in the bladder area and severe urine retention. Attempting to urinate every 8 to 10 minutes. Will discontinue this medication immediately and not take this again."

For Overactive Bladder "Gemtesa worked for the OAB, but I had a couple of side effects. 1) I would wake up in the middle of the night, so thirsty. Not just a dry mouth, but thirsty. 2) The drug has caused me to be constipated. I've been dealing with this for over a week, and no matter how I change my diet, the constipation is still there. So I'm gonna discontinue the drug today."

For Overactive Bladder "This med is so helpful for overactive bladder, and unlike some OAB meds, this one does not cause extreme dry eye and dry mouth. Also, I have not noticed any other side effects. Because it is so horribly expensive, I just take a pill every other day, but even that is helping a lot, especially at night. Now, instead of having to 'go' every 1.5 hours, I only have to get up twice a night, which is WONDERFUL! I wish Congress would quit bickering amongst themselves like a bunch of silly school kids and tackle exorbitant drug prices."

For Overactive Bladder "I started taking a 75 mg tablet of Gemtesa earlier this month and stopped taking it after 3 days. I had high blood pressure while taking it. Not sure if this medication can cause blood pressure to increase."

For Overactive Bladder "I took my first Gemtesa pill last night. I started getting horrible bladder pain, urinating every 15 min, and was up all night. It definitely was not a UTI. I have had UTIs all my life, approximately 6 times a year, and have never had this type of bladder pain. A UTI has a severe burning pain. No burning pain with this. I took the one 75 mg pill at 8 pm last night, and now at 12 noon the next day, the pain is less but still feels awful. Hope the manufacturer of Gemtesa reads this. I don’t advise taking this medication."

For Overactive Bladder "This drug is a game changer. Previously, I was awakening 2-4 times nightly to empty my bladder; since taking Gemtesa, it's down to zero or once nightly. The only side effect I experienced was dry mouth. I mentioned it to my doctor and she had me try half-dosage using a pill cutter. EUREKA, it resolved the dry mouth issue and the drug is still totally functional for its intended purpose! I still only have to get up 0-1 per night."

For Overactive Bladder "I had begun with an urge to urinate even after urinating. I went to a urologist who said I have BPH and prescribed tamsulosin and Detrol. Both did little to improve my condition, and one of them caused a rash and itching. I went to the Mayo Clinic in MN, was taken off the two medications, and was prescribed Gemtesa. Not a miracle drug, but an 8 or 9 on a 10 scale. Only issue it is still depressing sexual performance. I've ordered Viagra, we will see."

For Overactive Bladder "Very positive. Been wearing a heavy incontinence pad 24/7 for at least 2 years, which didn’t always do the trick. The first day I took this pill, I was not incontinent once during the day or night. Skipped it a couple of days to see if it was a fluke. It wasn’t. I’m taking it again. Slight nausea right after taking it in the morning, but maybe I should eat when I take it. I am very pleased. At 73 years old, I take quite a few meds and was/am hesitant to take another one. Not anymore. Fortunately, my copay covers it as a 30-day supply of well over $600."

For Overactive Bladder "I started this 3 weeks ago. I noticed an improvement almost right away. But, I have come off 2 of my migraine meds because I found an injection a month that works. Again, I’ve been on this Gemtesa 75 for 3 weeks, this past week I’ve had more migraines/headaches than the last 6 months. I guess I will need to come off. I’ve had 2 mesh surgeries. Maybe Botox. Suggestions..."

For Overactive Bladder "Started Gemtesa a month ago. Was shocked at the price, but insurance covers most. Paying $50 for a month's supply. Most expensive med I have ever paid for. Worth it though. In the beginning, I had some cramping pain and gas, but when I figured out to quit taking magnesium and take the Gemtesa with food, things settled down. I have only one early wake-up call in the morning. The first time in years I have been able to sleep 6 hours straight. I had been on another OAB for years that stopped working, so I was pleased to find Gemtesa."

For Overactive Bladder "A friend recommended Gemtesa since it has worked effectively for her. I find it does help somewhat but question its value, now hovering over $1,500 for 90 days. Even though Medicare does cover a portion, I also take another expensive drug, so I'm already in the donut hole, early June. I may try using one every other day, otherwise, I'll have to drop it."

For Overactive Bladder "I started taking Gemtesa a month ago. It works a lot like oxybutynin. It works for me. The side effects for me have been hot flashes. I’m not sure I will fill my prescription again. It was very expensive. I wondered if there are any coupons for Gemtesa."

For Overactive Bladder "My Urologist gave me a month's worth of samples to try. I took it for the month and saw a significant improvement in my OAB symptoms with no side effects. However, insurance would not cover it and my out-of-pocket expense would be over 300 dollars for a 3-month supply. The Urologist switched me to Myrbetriq, but the results are not as effective as Gemtesa. This drug needs to be added to Medicare-approved medication."

For Overactive Bladder "Only been trying for 3 weeks or so and find it somewhat better than what I have been taking. It is not perfect as I have had to run to the bathroom a few times with or without leakage. I don't get those terrible bladder feelings, no side effects. Love the fact I don't have to take on an empty stomach and when I do urinate I find I have the ability to have had my bladder hold a lot more."

For Overactive Bladder "I was given samples. I have terrible side effects from oxybutynin. Merbetriq works great, but insurance doesn't want to pay. Gemtesa is barely effective and causes horrible fatigue. I can barely sit up 3-4 hours after taking it. No point in taking it at night because of the fatigue it causes. The effectiveness wears off after 6-8 hours. Would cost me over $1000 a month. Glad I got samples to learn that it doesn't work well for me."

For Overactive Bladder "I have suffered with OAB for at least 15 years. Gemtesa has been a Godsend. I have been taking this medication for 2 full weeks. I honestly could tell a difference within 24 hours of the first pill. Urgency and leaking are gone. I have gone from Depends diapers to a pad (for safety). Fingers crossed, this continues. I can truly attest that Gemtesa has worked since day one, and I am so thankful that my urologist had me try this medication. He gave me samples for three months until my return visit."

For Overactive Bladder "This works great for my bladder and is better than any other of the medications I have tried. I have noticed more vivid dreams and constipation after I started taking it, so I took myself off for two weeks and restarted. I know these are not listed as side effects, but after my restart, the symptoms returned. I just need to decide if it is worth it or if I should return to a medication that doesn't work as well."

For Overactive Bladder "I consider it a miracle drug. Right away I had less and less urge to urinate. After about two to three weeks, I could go several hours and at night only have to get up two to three times a night with no accidents. Unfortunately, it is too expensive for me to continue using it for long term. I was denied by the manufacturer for help with the expense. But I love it. I think I might even be able to go without Depends. I have had zero side effects and take one pill every morning."

For Overactive Bladder "I started taking this drug for a month and saw hardly any improvement in my symptoms! Now it’s been almost 2 months and my symptoms are improving so much. The urgency is down, frequency is also less, and my leaking is little to none! I was about to give up on this medication, but it takes time to see a difference. Almost 2 whole months it took for me to see a change, so don’t lose hope. Something I have found that is also helpful in combination with the medication is pumpkin seed extract to help with the urgency. It has made a difference as well."
