For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a severe lingering yeast infection (first ever at 26!) that 3 doses of fluconazole couldn't wipe out. My doc prescribed me a 7-night treatment of terconazole because she thought a more direct medication might help. The 1st night was a nightmare to get the applicator in - there's no closed off, rounded end like a tampon, so you can't really just push it in, and my vaginal opening was already swollen and sore. As the infection got better, it was easier to insert. I did experience side effects of mild cramping, stomachaches, gassiness, and sensitivity to smell. Food smells would give me nausea and headaches at the same time. The effects of the cream weren't as immediate as the pills, so I wasn't sure if it was working at first but kept going as instructed. I just finished my 7th dose last night, and the infection seems to be gone. I feel pretty normal again. Very relieved that this worked for me and even more relieved to be done with it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was disappointed when my midwife prescribed terconazole cream for my YI. I've never had success with OTC creams like Monistat before, so I expected the same. I prefer fluconazole because the pill always works for me, but I'm pregnant and can't currently take it. My cream was the 3-day, 0.8% intravaginal suppository. By day 2, most of my symptoms were gone, and by day 3, I had no symptoms. The leaking of cream after insertion was not an issue for me, not much actually drained out anyway, and besides, I'd rather deal with cream drainage than itchiness and burning any day. I did experience nausea in the mornings, but again, I'm pregnant, so it could've been unrelated to the medication. Terconazole worked great for me, I'd use it again if needed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Itching has gone down after the third dose, but I have a burning sensation when I put the medication in. I also started having a headache and nausea, but it could be from the oral antibiotics I was put on."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had vaginal issues for 3 weeks, tried to wait it out for one week, went to the doctor for a pill the second week, then they gave me terconazole. I have not been able to sleep since it started three weeks ago, but with the terconazole, I feel like I am absolutely on fire. I took the third dose, hoping that would stop, but it is worse now than the first night. I switched to a different plunger because the one provided had sharp edges and was very painful to use. The other plunger worked great, but the burning is just unbearable, and I woke up sick this morning. I didn't connect it to the medication until now. I got dizzy and nauseous feeling, and the burning is horrible."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Went to my doctor. She prescribed me a 3-day suppository. On the first night of me taking it, I woke up with a dizzy feeling, real nauseous. I didn't think much of it because my daughter was getting over a cold. On night 2 of my taking it, I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, shivering, whole body sore, not able to move my neck, headache that won't go away no matter what I take. I'll never use this medicine again. I'm at the ER right now because I feel so terrible. This is the worst pain I've ever been in in my life. Hoping this helps someone. Don't risk your health with this stuff."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to urgent care after having UTI symptoms for a week. After the doctor learned I had been on an antibiotic recently, he summed it up as a yeast infection (despite my urinalysis). I had already taken a Diflucan a week prior, but still had the smallest amount of yeast. My plan was to get the UTI treated and then worry about the remaining yeast infection. I took 1 dose of the 3-day cream treatment with no issues. I went to my PCP a few days later, and she wrote me an antibiotic for the UTI. With that underway, I finished out the cream. I used the second dose Wednesday night and the third dose Thursday night... woke up Friday in pain. As the weekend has progressed, my pain has gotten severe. I have a blister-like rash starting at my vagina and going on my bottom. I can barely sit down or wipe myself well due to the burning, cracked skin sensation. Using the restroom hurts so bad I get nauseated from the pain. I'm suffering needlessly because a doctor jumped to conclusions."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Came down with my first YI at 26 weeks pregnant. Doctor prescribed me terconazole 0.4% cream for 7 days. Just took 2nd treatment, and so far, so good. Didn't have itching or burning before the cream, so can't speak to it alleviating that, but it does seem to be flushing out the infection. I did get nauseous for a few hours after I used it for the first night, but it's gone away now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "My doctor prescribed terconazole, one that you apply for 14 days, but I couldn’t make it past day 2. The first night it was fine, but the second night I had a bit harder time getting the applicator in and was worried it wasn’t inserted deep enough. Woke up a few hours later with some of the most intense cramps I’ve ever experienced, plus nausea. I went to the bathroom, which got some of the cream out of me, and felt a bit better but still nauseous and uncomfortable. Finally got back to sleep and woke up still feeling a bit nauseous. I stopped taking it, and the two doses were not enough to cure the infection."
