Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "This is my second day on VESIcare. I will not take it another day. My throat and tongue are on fire, and I feel very nervous and anxious. The first day it did help my overactive bladder, but the side effects are not worth the benefit. This was a sample from my doctor, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it."

For Urinary Frequency "I have been prescribed solifenacin as I need to urinate excessively during the night. I have become incontinent and have to wear pads. I have been prescribed solifenacin and have been taking it for two weeks. It has helped immensely. However, the side effects are horrible. Constant heartburn, lower back pain, and a huge stomach. I have been experiencing a lack of energy despite sleeping and feeling depressed. I am usually full of energy and upbeat. I feel the negative reaction is not worth the one positive. In fact, this has made me anxious, and I am hoping to get back to normal ASAP."

For Neurogenic Bladder "I began taking solifenacin 2.5 years ago. At first, I struggled with side effects (dry mouth, constipation, anxious feeling). My doctor advised me that if I could handle it for a few weeks, those side effects should die down, and they did. I have MS, and my bladder has taken a hard hit, feeling like I always have urine in my panty liner, and feeling dirty sucks. It still happens here and there, but nothing like it used to. 6 months ago, my insurance stopped approving it. I tried other meds, and they were terrible! Finally got insurance to let me go back on this, and I’m so grateful!!!!!"

For Urinary Frequency "Been taking 5 mg for 9 days except one day as agreed with doctor took 10 mg definitely helped with weeing all the time. Now I find it hard to see a lot, have lower back pain, am tired, so much constipation, and feel anxious, and am waking up at night feeling anxious. Pharmacist suggested halving the pill or taking it every other night. I am worried if this will make my weeing start again. I do not know what to do for the best."

For Overactive Bladder "Have just taken 2 doses. It seems to relax the bladder, but makes me jittery and spacey. I don’t like the way I feel. Taking 5 mg once a day. I will consult my Dr. about taking another medication with fewer side effects."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Worst medication I've probably ever had! Was only on it for about 11 days and started to get urinary retention - so decided with my doctor to stop it. Once I stopped it, a couple of days later I had the worst overactive bladder symptoms I've ever had. Was up till 5 in the morning just peeing every 5 minutes for hours! Which obviously made me very dehydrated and anxious. I'm thinking it must have been my system trying to clear out the meds or something! I know it's different for everyone, but I would definitely recommend an alternative medication or check out posterior nerve stimulation, which is potentially more of a long-term solution rather than taking meds! I have been referred by my doctor for this, so just waiting now!"
