For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used this several years ago with good results. I haven't a clue what is in this current medication - but the burning, itching, and swelling I experienced was so awful I want to tear out my insides. And nothing seems to relieve it. You just have to tough it out. The 'relief' cream makes it worse. I used the 1-day formula. Can't imagine it will help with the swelling and inflammation it caused. In the future, I'll use megadose probiotics. Whoever formulated this must hate women."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had what I thought was a mild YI and used the 1 day. Inserted the egg at 7 pm. By 8 pm, I was in agony. Severe burning, unrelenting all night, even with Tylenol, Advil, and an ice pack. Here we are the next morning, still burning and now swollen. This product should be pulled from the shelves immediately. Now a visit to the gyne is required, which I was trying to avoid. DON’T USE THIS!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the first time I've ever had a yeast infection. I'm 21, and it's probably because my diabetes is out of whack. I inserted the cream at about 2 am, and by 5, I was crying in the shower, washing it off. EVERYTHING is swollen. My vagina is swollen shut, my vulva is so swollen if my legs aren't all the way spread, they touch. I have broken my back before, and I'm 99% sure this pain is worse. I took a Vicodin an hour ago, and it hasn't helped. I'm NEVER using this product again!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a yeast infection. Used the 3-day product, which helped, but it was coming back after a few days. Decided to try the 1-day product. Within a few hours, I had HORRIBLE itching! The cream didn't help for more than a few minutes. It got progressively worse as the night went on. I am now swollen and raw! My skin is actually bleeding! My entire vulva area is swollen. This is horrible! I read some other reports here that Desitin helps, so I just went out and got some. I'm praying for some relief. If not better by morning, I'll have to go see my doctor. Can I sue the company that made this product? I'm losing time from work because of this!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a yeast infection, and so I bought this hoping it would clear it up quickly. I usually take Diflucan, but it was a weekend and I couldn't get to the doctor. Inserted the ovule at 11 pm, and by 3 am my hoo-ha was on FIRE! It was the most excruciating pain and burning I have ever felt down there. I wiped it all away as much as possible and flushed/rinsed with warm water. I took some Benadryl and put diaper cream on my inflamed lady bits. The burning has gone down quite a bit, but I am still in a lot of pain. I will never take Monistat again! Their website says a 'small percentage' of women are allergic. I think it's more than they are telling us! DO NOT use this for a YI. You will be sorry!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve used Monistat before with minimal issues, but decided this time to use the 1-day egg and external cream combo. DO NOT USE. There has been a lot of burning and swelling, and those I’ve been able to handle, but the itching became so bad about 24 hours after starting treatment that I was in tears. I used the external cream thinking it might help. Nope, just made extreme itching go to the point of unbearable. I wiped off the cream and put some hydrocortisone on, which gave some relief. I also took a Benadryl to help with itching and to put me to sleep. Hoping it will be better in the morning. I feel like someone gave my nether regions a chemical peel and then doused them with poison ivy oil."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'd had mild symptoms of a yeast infection two days before realizing that what my symptoms were indicating was a YI. I'm 18, and this was my first YI ever, so I decided to go with the Monistat 3-day cream treatment. After applying it the first day, my symptoms felt even worse! The burning and itching were intensified, but only for about 30 minutes or so. After that, I could lay down and sleep comfortably. The next day, it was more swollen down there than the day before, however, I continued treatment and have just finished day 3, with swelling completely gone and irritation and itching minimal. The vulvar cream that comes with it causes it to itch and burn also, but like the applicator cream, only for a little while until you feel some relief."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "2nd night, and I am pissed!! I knew I wasn't completely healed, so I had to continue the 3-day cream, but as soon as I used the 2nd tube, the burning and eternal itching got sooooo bad!! Last night, the pain, itch, and burning lasted for about 2 hours! Tonight, I'm going on one hour, hoping it'll settle down a lot faster. I hate that we go through this, ladies, smh. I've found that an ice pack provides some comfort for the burn and swelling. I haven't had a YI in years. A day swimming and forgetting to take my swimsuit off right away is what got me here... This is definitely what an angry V feels like!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "WHERE'S THE LAWYERS?! Over the years, I've had YI and have used Monistat each time (or a generic of it) without issue. This time was unbelievably awful. After inserting the ovule, two hours later, I woke up to unholy itching, much, much worse than the YI! The burning wasn't quite as extreme as some of the other users, but it did burn! There was no sleep to be had, so I took two Benadryl in hopes it would work...and it did, thank God! After an hour, I was finally able to return to bed and fall asleep. Throughout the next day, I have had some swelling, but the pain and itch are nearly gone."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is horrible! I had to go to the ER because the urgent care wasn’t open. Worst burning I’ve ever experienced. I thought I was having an allergic reaction, but it must just be a common thing. I can’t sit down. Everything is swollen. It burns to pee. Not to mention, this is extremely embarrassing!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This med was different this time compared to the past. It caused the most intense itch, burn, and swelling in my vaginal and vulvar areas. The packaging is misleading to the consumer where it states side effects are a “mild increase of itch and burn.” It is a horrific itch and reaction to the delicate tissue in the vagina and inner and outer labia, it is not anywhere near being “mild.” As a registered nurse, I am considering filing a complaint with the manufacturer and FDA regarding the lack of public safety of this medication. The public must be warned appropriately of the extremely negative side effects of this medication. It also may cause additional skin breakdown leading to a secondary infection and needless human suffering."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a course of antibiotics. Knew I'd get a YI. Dr. gave me Diflucan. I don't know why it didn't work. Maybe I took it too soon. Anyway, got this OTC Miconazole 3. Didn't like the idea of inserting the stuff. But I did. Used the topical on the outside of my vajaja. My vajaja and vulva are on fire. No itching, thank God. Just a blow torch-type burning in my lady parts. In the morning, I'm going to the Dr. This is unacceptably bad. So painful and feels swollen."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Holy crudders! I have suffered yeast infections often in my life due to medication side effects that I have to take for chronic illness. But I have NEVER experienced a treatment that literally took my breath away from the searing sensation between my legs! My poor vajayjay is throbbing and swollen, and I was even thinking of going to the E.R. (it is midnight when it happened) because I thought it may have been an allergic reaction! However, thanks to these threads, I can save myself that bill and just report this drug! I spent $23 on this torture! That may not be much to some, but I am a single mom, and I just wanted relief!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have recurring yeast infections and couldn’t get to the doctor until next week. I decided to try the name brand, which was the worst mistake of my life. Day one I used the suppository and cleaned as directed and had so minimal burning, but my skin was very irritated and sore. Assuming it was doing what it was supposed to, I decided to just use the cream on my vulva. Wrong! I looked in the mirror and saw frightening red bumps like pimples on my vulva. I have health anxiety and automatically went to Google and self-diagnosed. The burning was unbearable! I rinsed my vulva multiple times and took Benadryl and Tylenol to reduce the swelling, redness, and itching/discomfort. I had a little bit of my prescription cream left and applied it. This morning I woke up around 4 a.m. with a slight burning sensation and I grabbed my mirror and flashlight. The bumps were gone but still had redness and a swollen vulva. I’ll never use this product again. Seeing those bumps scared the living poop out of me."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had used this product before and never had a problem. It seemed to help clear up the infection quite quickly. But I recently got another yeast infection and decided to use the product again. I would not recommend it at all. I got intense burning in my lower region. It got so uncomfortable within about 5 minutes that I had to take a shower and wipe all the medicine out. Afterwards, I was still in pain. Do not get Monistat. At all. Yeast infections already itch, and Monistat made it 100 times worse, plus insane burning. Hopefully, I won't have any rashes or swelling like the others. Definitely go see a doctor and get a prescription."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This stuff burns like lava. I thought it was just me until Google brought me here. My vag is inflamed as we speak. We should put a class action lawsuit against this company. This is torture, I did not sign up for this. I am going to pursue a lawsuit against Monistat. Together we can do something about this horrible product."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've been battling a yeast infection for over a month. The first dose was a 1-day cream which burned horribly and made my vagina swell and itch! After about 2 weeks, I used another one, but it was 'the lava egg' and it didn't burn as much. 2 weeks later, I realize neither of them worked, so I decide to see a doctor. The doctor confirms it's a YI and prescribed me the pill. Almost 2 weeks later, it also hasn't worked, just improved my symptoms a little bit. I'm just so desperate to get rid of this that I just must have forgotten how painful Monistat is and that it didn't work before because I just bought another box to see if maybe it'll wipe out the remaining infection. I got lucky. I only applied the external cream, which itches so bad I wanna drag my cooter across the rug like an animal, but haven't inserted the pill. These reviews have me wondering if there might be something wrong with the medication. I'm going to ask my doctor about this because this is ridiculous."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I would NOT recommend this! I’ve used it twice and have had the exact same reaction both times. I inserted the medicine at 9:30 pm and literally within 30 minutes, I had severe swelling! I mean SEVERE SWELLING!! I could hardly walk. I had to sleep with an ice pack between my legs. I went to my gynecologist the next day around 4:00."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got what I thought was a yeast infection a few days ago. Used the first night and woke up feeling 100 times worse. I suffered through the day with ice and Vagisil. Second night, still burning/itching, I took the next dose. Woke up at 4 am on fire and slept with an ice pack on my vagina. Today I searched the Internet for whether this could be, as normal yeast infections don't feel like this. My labia was so swollen I couldn't even walk. I started taking baking soda sitz baths every 6 hours or so and felt much better. By evening, the swelling and burn/itch had gone down. I applied the 3rd night application, laid down for 20 minutes, felt my labia swelling up along with intense burning. I showered to try to get as much as I could out and rubbed coconut oil on my vulva. I have had some bloody discharge today, and now I know why, this stuff is literally setting your insides on fire. I will be calling tomorrow, and it will be the first time I have ever called a company to complain."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "M3 works, but every time I’ve had the unfortunate need for it, the itching and tenderness during treatment is almost as maddening as having the yeast infection alone. Day 1 - no burning, just severe itching (may need a straightjacket to keep from scratching). No itching in the morning, but external tenderness. Day 2 - same itching as day one. Same tenderness. Day 3 - intense itching for about 10 minutes, but then dies down. However, I feel raw down there. It hurts to wipe and burns to pee. Some swelling, but discharge during the day has ceased and itching during the day has died down considerably. Overall, the product works, but your vagina will hate you with the rage of a thousand infernos. Will buy again!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So sitting here at 4 in the morning because I did not insert the lava egg until about 2 1/2 hours ago. I am slowly starting to feel better. About 3 months ago, I used the 7-day cream and literally just wanted to end life itself because I didn’t think I could carry on any longer. This time, I used the one-day, and about an hour after going to sleep, I woke up knowing the end was near once again. The CRAZY itching and swelling! Reading these, though, makes me feel not alone and like other people, maybe, made it out with their downstairs area intact. Please save yourselves."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I don't usually write on these forums, but the experience was so awful that sharing so other users can avoid what appears to be a common experience. This stuff burned and itched like crazy. I was literally pacing back and forth and had to call a medical hotline. I felt as though millions of ants were running around with acid on their feet! I couldn't sleep all night, literally had to put ice cubes in parts unknown and go to the doctor the next day, swollen and red, inside and out! If you have had this experience, call Monistat. I reported the issue. I also kept my receipt and asked for a refund, which they are sending without an argument, so they must know there is a problem. I have used their products before without incident, so I don't know if they changed something, but let them know they need to do something or put a strong warning on advising users to test it on a small patch of skin to prevent more people from having the most unpleasant experience I have ever had with medication before."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was on Amoxicillin and started feeling the itch, rash, and swelling. Never had a discharge or smell. Three days after completing the antibiotics, I started on Monistat 7 (should have started it the next day). So this is my first night, and I inserted it at 9:15 pm and used the external cream for the itch, which helped a lot. Fell asleep, and about 45 minutes later, I was like, 'what the heck.'... I was itching and burning. It lasted for about 30 minutes. I’m thinking it itched like that because I could be so raw from the yeast. Gonna hang in there and weather the storm. I’ve only had one other yeast infection in my life, and that was years ago. Just want this yeast infection to go away!! Uuugggg."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I’d like to say at first I was terrified to use this product after reading various reviews. I have now been using this product for 7 days as told by the packaging. I have never had any burning or itching, and I feel perfectly fine. I have not had any pain/itching/inflammation outside of my lady parts, it was only yeast discharge before the use of this product. An actual doctor recommended this specific packaging for me. Today is the last night of use for Monistat 7, I will update you guys on the final effectiveness of this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the 1-a-day miconazole treatment, and OMG! My vagina is on fire! Soon after I inserted the capsule, I felt very uncomfortable. Like the capsule was stuck in there. Finally, I couldn't take the feeling of it, and it started to burn, so I tried washing it out with a cold washcloth. I took out as much of the creamy substance as I could. And now my vagina is red, swollen, and I have an ice pack between my legs to relieve the pain. I wish I would have read the reviews before using this. I've used the 3-day treatment before and didn't have a problem. So I thought the 1-day would treat it faster. Boy, was I wrong and completely regret buying this."
