Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I got my first yeast infection, yay! So my boyfriend took me to the store for meds. I used day 1. I didn't have much itching or burning the first day I used it, but the next morning I woke up to a nasty mess and my outer and inner vagina burning and itching. The swelling and redness are horrible. I've tried cold packs, cold showers, warm showers, tea tree oil, and everything. And the cream doesn't seem to help. I'm scared of doctors, but I'm thinking about seeing one for this. I was also taking amoxicillin before this, so that could've been the issue."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'll just discuss the repercussions of this OTC medicine. Without doing any research, I purchased Monistat 1 ovule, and I regret making such a big mistake. Twenty-four hours after using, I had severe swelling, soreness, itching, and irritation of the entire vulva. Indescribable pain when I urinated because my skin had ruptured in certain areas. I thought that I just had a resistant yeast infection, but after seeing my OB/GYN, I came to the realization I had an allergic reaction. She thought I had herpes based on my symptoms and an examination, but it's not possible because I'm married, and my husband and I have been faithful. I was basically bedridden for three days, in debilitating pain. It's been almost a week now and my 'lady business' is still healing."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Horrible burning every time I use the external cream. My infection was barely itchy or uncomfortable, but I wanted to nip it in the bud before it got worse. This is the worst 'cause it burns and swells so bad from the medicine. I think I have chemical burns. My sister says the same thing about yeast infection creams. The infection is gone, though!!! Good God."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have used Monistat for all of my adult life. Never, and I mean, NEVER has it done this to me before. My hoohaw is so swollen it feels like I've had sexual encounters with a horse...(not something I'm into, by the way). I've been on antibiotics for another illness, and of course that messes with the lady bits. So, because I've used this many times before, I bought it with confidence. I'm used to discomfort, I'm used to slight burning. This is like rubbing menthol on an open wound. A million tiny cuts and swelling. So now I wince in pain every time I move. My fiancé is certain my other illness is not getting better and doesn't quite understand that it actually is, but now I have an inferno between my legs and I don't mean the sexy, alluring kind. Word of advice...get an RX for antibiotics? Go ahead and ask for Diflucan. Whatever you do, don't put this stuff in your cart, let alone anywhere on your body."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I just got home from an emergency appointment with my gynecologist because of this stuff. I got the 3-day pack of suppositories. I woke up after night one feeling uncomfortable. I had itching and sensitivity, but thought that was due to the YI, so I told myself I would feel better after the second treatment. The morning after the second treatment, that area of my body was just so uncomfortable. I couldn't sit, bend, or walk without my crotch screaming at me. I just felt so swollen. I was in shock, scared, and in so much pain. I did not insert the third suppository. I went to my gynecologist, and she rinsed out the remaining medicine, and I am now taking Benadryl to help the swelling. Stay away from this stuff!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After being on antibiotics, I developed a YI. After being unable to find clotrimazole at any of my local drugstores, I bought the generic version of this with the purple cap. I've used this product before without issues... that was then. This time, shortly after inserting the cream, I felt intense vaginal burning. By intense, I mean it felt like a fire and fire ant bites. The burning was so intense I couldn't feel any itching. I resisted the urge to rinse it out and suffered all night with little sleep. The next day, my vagina felt sore and swollen, which was not how it felt from the YI, only after using this product. I did not use any further doses of this. Instead, I called my doctor and got the Diflucan pill. Spare yourself, use an alternative."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had some itchy and uncomfortableness, so I bought Monistat 7 and took the first dose that afternoon. That night, I was incredibly red and swollen and in pain, I couldn't have anything touching my area. Doses 2 and 3 were no problem, all symptoms were easing. Dose 4, I woke up many times throughout the night and my whole area was covered in sweat and super itchy. Dose 5, it was horrid. I was on fire, it hurt so bad. I had to get a shower, I couldn't deal with it. I'm not taking it anymore."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I purchased this medicine earlier today, thinking it would be easier and cheaper to buy than trying to contact my doctor or setting up an appointment, only to still have to pick up the prescription. Boy, was I wrong! I purchased the 1-day oval. The itching is brutal! It made me want to tear my vagina off or stab it a million times to make it stop. The burning is just as bad. It's so inflamed! Do not buy this product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was feeling symptoms of a yeast infection, so I bought this product. I inserted the cream and then put the cream on the outside for the itching. Instantly, it started burning! I was screaming and running around. I had to jump in the shower and try to wipe it off. Stupidly enough, I wasn't sure if it was the inserted cream or the exterior cream. I put the exterior cream back on to help the itching, and it started burning! Holy heck. As I'm writing this, it feels like there is a fire burning down there. Please do not buy this. My vagina is so inflamed and swollen."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I felt a YI coming on, so I went and picked up a 3-day store brand kit. Inserted last night, went to sleep, no issues. It wasn't until today that the horrific burning, itching, and swelling made me feel like my girly bits are roasting on a fiery pit. Worse than the actual YI. I've never in my life had this kind of reaction. Perhaps I should have stuck with the 7-day. To make matters worse, there's a major snowstorm, and so no way I'm getting to the doctor to get a Diflucan. I sincerely hate having a vagina. And someone should make the makers of this horrible product endure the same horrors."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the worst experience I've ever had with this stuff, and I refuse to finish the last day of the 3-day pack. My hooha is so swollen I wouldn't be able to fit the insert inside even if I wanted to! And the burning is unbelievable! Last night, after inserting the 2nd application, I was in so much pain I had to sleep with an ice pack between my legs and seriously contemplated going to the ER. I will tell anyone who asks to run far, and I mean far away from this 'medication'. I can't walk and have to go to work and about my daily life like I'm normal, and all I want to do is curl up in a ball and cry because this pain/burning is up there near childbirth."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I recommend this product, it works! I'm experiencing my first YI, and I'm 18. You have to tolerate some burning, itching, and swelling, but it's all good. First night, I cried myself to sleep. The burning and itching made me want to rip my hair out! The second night wasn't so bad, the only burning I had was when the cream started dripping and coming out. I went to sleep just fine. I'm on the third night now, and no burning or itching! A little swelling on my vulva, but I'm glad it's over. I know that my yeast infection is gone! I recommend taking Benadryl a couple of minutes before you install the cream, though. Great results, though."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never been so aware of my vagina. I inserted the single dose and went to sleep. You know you're in trouble when you have an itchy vagina in your dreams. I woke up to a vagina in agony. This stuff has made the itching from my infection worse! My vulva is cherry red and inflamed. I couldn't go back to sleep and applied an ice pack. Then, when the fires of hell went to a cool sizzle, I slathered on hydrocortisone cream. The next morning, I made a bee line to CVS for maximum strength feminine anti-itch wipes and made a panty liner with them. Sweet relief. After all this torture, I hope it cures my infection. They should market this as a torture device. Women would sing like canaries."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Every girl must read this before even considering purchasing this product! After inserting a tab, it felt like I was being set on fire down there. It burnt me so bad my vagina is now extremely swollen, red, sore, and painful to even the most gentle touch, it hurts to even wipe. I had to take a bath and then a cold shower to somewhat get rid of this burning/itching and mostly very painful sensation. I have used Canesten tabs previously, to help cure my infection without any issues, but this time I grabbed Monistat because it was on sale, and what a mistake that was! The pain was unbearable, and not knowing what was happening to my body has put my mind in a panic mode. Thankfully, I found this website, and it was a game changer. Ladies, thank you for these reviews, it really helped put my mind at ease."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had 4 or 5 yeast infections in my life, and I have used this product every time I have had it, and it gave me great relief. This time, however, seems very different. It burns so badly that I felt that I might not have a yeast infection, but maybe a bacterial infection until I read the rest of the reviews. It's burning and itching like crazy! It's also very swollen below. I presume that the more you scratch beforehand, the more it burns when the anti-itch cream is applied, but this definitely feels terrible. I can't possibly go through another two nights of this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "If you were like me and considering using this stuff and thinking, 'Hey, it can't do any damage!' PLEASE think again. This stuff burned me so badly that my vagina is swollen up double and closed shut. Absolute misery. My tissue is so inflamed and on fire a week after taking this. Had to take a steroid shot to get it to go down. It ain't worth it. This is worse than the infection ever was. The gynecologist says that it's VERY common with both the 1-day and 3-day to have reactions like this, and she personally doesn't recommend it, but if you absolutely feel it necessary to use (I wouldn't risk it!), use the 7-day."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG!!!! I am currently on day 2/3, and I know for a fact I can't continue this torture. Day 1, less than 3 minutes after inserting that ovule of death, my nether regions were on fire - just itching and burning. It hurt so bad I thought I was having an allergic reaction!! Like a dummy, I tried to use the anti-itch cream in the kit, and WOW, my vag swelled up twice its size. The burning is so bad I can literally feel my heartbeat down there. DO NOT USE THIS!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. If I could go back and redo anything in my life, I would read the reviews on this product before trying it. Thought it was kind of gross to shove a huge tube of cream up my vag before bed. Had no idea what it would become. Woke up a few hours later to crazy, miserable itching, irritation, and swelling. My lady bits are so swollen and tender, it hurts to wipe. Not sure if this means the stuff is working??? But seriously, don't use Monistat 7 & go to the doctor. This stuff is miserable."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this product. I used it on a Tuesday for mild itching. It burned so bad I was convinced I had something other than a yeast infection. On Thursday, I made an emergency appointment with the ob/gyn and was tested for STDs. She thought I was joking until she saw how red my vagina was. I asked my partner over again, have you cheated? He thought I was joking, then became angry. I inserted it again Thursday after my appointment as I was itching. I had to rinse it out within 30 minutes and made the connection to Google it. I have read all 334 reviews. People went to the ER, the clinic, etc. All of my tests were negative and I was embarrassed. I had to show my partner and ob/gyn this thread so they would not think I was crazy. Two days out after the second use and I am still swollen and burning. Please do not use this."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omgoodness! Noticed a yeast infection coming on, been years since the last experience in which I used the same treatment and had success. Well, I am unsure if since having my last child changed things, but this round of treatment has me miserable. There is burning, itching, so swollen, and worst of all, raw splotchiness of flesh that burns with such intensity. I am eager to get in the shower and somehow wash this off, but anxious for the yeast infection to subside. Last night was day one of inserting treatment, ended up washing off and taking a trip to the ER for help, which they prescribed the oral pill Diflucan or something. I took that, and they suggested to still use Monistat topical itch relief and the Monistat 7 inserted, so here I am, night 2, feeling miserably swollen, raw, and on fire....anyone please help with relief for the raw flesh."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Lord, have mercy! Thank God I found this page last night whilst I was writhing in pain, or I would’ve gone to the ER. I inserted the Monistat 1 ovule before bed, and within an hour, the itching got worse, and then the burning started - oh God, the burning! It was like someone had shoved a hot coal in my nether regions. I was on fire! My lady bits were swollen and throbbing. After reading here, I washed as much off as I could, applied a cold rag, and some diaper cream, which alleviated some of the pain. I will never, ever use this again. Absolutely awful."
