For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had just applied it, and immediately right after I feel the burn. I felt that the medicine should have a calming effect rather than a burning sensation to the point that it irritates your mind and the feeling of uncomfortable with slight nausea. I bought the 7-day Monistat for my YI. Let's see if tomorrow works better. I had tried other cream-insert brands like Canesten Cream, I felt relief right after use. Hence, Monistat needs to relook into the medications provided in the cream. Because I had bought two boxes, and I regretted getting two boxes (one for spare)."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had quite a few YI, and anyone who is going to use Monistat and has a low pain tolerance should go for Monistat 7! I've tried Monistat 3 and 1, and those burned tremendously more than Monistat 7. Yes, this one still has discomfort and burning, but trust me when I say this, Monistat 7 is far less of a pain overall!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Save yourself some money, visit a doctor, and do not buy this off-the-shelf treatment! Worst experience in my life. I used it to treat a yeast infection, not only did it not solve my symptoms, it gave me excruciating pain and a burning sensation every time I applied it. Had to discontinue on day 3 because the discomfort was unbearable. The yeast infection went away with the second day of my period. This product should never be for sale!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "On the first night I used this, I had quite a bit of discomfort, but nothing unbearable. The next day, my YI symptoms definitely had improved. Then, I did night two of the cream, and within 30 seconds, unbearable burning, stinging, itching. I waited about 15 minutes, and it was getting worse, so I showered and tried to rinse as much as I could. I got out and waited a little longer, and the pain continued to get worse! I had to get this stuff out of me! The pain got a tiny bit better after this but was still terrible! I flushed out my vagina with it several times with warm water. I then ran a warm bath and soaked in it for 15 minutes. I am still having some itching and burning, but it is finally bearable and I might be able to sleep. Do not buy this product!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have always used the one-day treatment of Monistat or similar products, which consists of an ovule rather than cream, and did not have any major problems. However, being pregnant, my doctor said that only the 7-day treatment was safe to use. This is a cream only, which you insert. The label states that you may experience 'mild burning'... this is such a huge understatement it should be illegal! I was in pain and discomfort unlike any I have experienced before, to the point where my legs were twitching and I was in tears. After trying to suffer through it, I had to take a shower and wash as much out as I could. Finally, after I got most of it out, the pain began to subside. Had to use it again 2 months later and got the same results."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first ever YI, and I'm on day 5 of using the Monistat 7. The first day, I could feel it working. The feeling of having to pee and the discomfort were kind of gone, or at least subsided quicker. I thought for sure by day 5 I'd be much better, but today I still feel a bit of discomfort. One of the nights, I even woke up to pee and was crying, it was so frustrating. To have the pain back. I have had my period for 4 out of the 5 days I've been using it. And I am so over using the pads all day and all night. :( discouraging"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought the med yesterday and applied it at bedtime. The burning and itching is bad, I mean it felt like poison ivy in your vagina. I took it around 9:30-10 pm, and by 11 it was really uncomfortable, but if you can stick it out, it's not so bad. I passed out and woke back up around 3 am, and I had no more pain. This is the first dose, my vag does feel better. No itching, but still very sore. So I think I'm going to finish the cream."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I’m 38 weeks pregnant and have been putting up with the itching, discharge, and discomfort for too long. Tonight was the final straw, and I got Monistat 7. About 30 seconds to a minute after inserting, I was on fire. I was sweating, so uncomfortable, and any noise instantly had me overstimulated, lol. About 30-45 min later, I finally calmed down a bit and don’t feel the need to scream anymore. Try and stick it out as long as possible without trying to rinse the medication off or wipe it out… it does get better, like I said, after about 30 minutes or so. I feel as if it wouldn’t have been as bad if I wasn’t already raw in that area from the itching and letting the yeast infection go too long. No idea how I’m gonna hype myself up for night #2, but it’ll be okay."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So today I went out and bought Monistat 7 day. I don't normally get yeast infections, haven't had one for a few years, but when I do get them, I get them pretty severe. The last time that I got a really bad yeast infection, I bought Monistat 1 day, which worked fantastic, didn't cause any pain or discomfort like it said it would. Today is day one on Monistat 7, and I don't feel any discomfort, it doesn't burn, so I would recommend using Monistat 7 day. As I said before, it's only the 1st day, so we'll see how it works as I proceed to the 7th day."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So today is Day 6 since I've started the Monistat 7 (meaning I'll insert my 6th dose tonight before bed), and I must say - the first night was a little uncomfortable. I didn't know that it was recommended to be used right before bed, but luckily my husband has a bit more common sense than me and read all of the information provided on the box and all the inserts. So that is the only reason why I knew to lay down, with a pillow under my hips, and my knees bent upward. I still experienced a lot of discomfort, itching, burning, etc., but not nearly as much as I would have if I had just inserted the cream and then went on about my day like I had originally planned. The key is to not let any of the cream leak out of the vagina and get onto the vulva. Because that is what causes all of the intense/unbearable burning and discomfort that a lot of women on here are talking about. The only thing I'm concerned about is these horrible migraines I've been getting ever since starting the Monistat 7."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Save yourself from the immense itching and burning and get the Walmart brand of this. Though the burning means it's working, it's not worth the discomfort. If you do end up using this, take sleeping medication, painkillers, and apply petroleum jelly around your area before putting it on your kitty kitty meow meow. It does work, the pain will subside some after 20 minutes on the first day, just not worth the discomfort."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was afraid to try this because so many people spoke of the burning. I decided to try it, as I am unable to get into a doctor for another week. I am on day 2. I can say, at no point, did I have any burning or discomfort whatsoever. I guess everyone is different. I wear a pantyliner because there is some leakage, which is expected for a vaginal cream, but beyond that, there has been no pain or discomfort at all."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve had a few yeast infections before (the first was during antibiotics and paired with bacterial vaginosis (BV), the second was after the antibiotic course, and this is my third one in roughly 6 months). I used Flagyl during the antibiotic course, and that was all fine and dandy. I used Monistat 7 for the one that was caused by the antibiotics, and the only problem I had was itching and discomfort at night and a lot of discharge. I’m using Monistat 7 again, it’s my second day, and let me tell you, I have NEVER had burning while peeing during any of my infections. I thought I might have a UTI before I researched that it could be the cause of the yeast infection itself. I’m not sure if the Monistat is making the burning and itching worse, but the pain is kind of worth it if I don’t have to go to the doctor. All in all, I think Monistat 7 works pretty well if you can deal with vaginal itching and burning/burning urination."
