"I've had YI in the past, and they would go away either by pill or just because. This time I was fed up so I bought the monistat 7 day pack and BOY OH BOY. Less than a minute of inserting that thang it started to BURN. I'm saying like putting hot bacon grease on your kitty type burn. Sitting in a bath full of hot sauce type burn. Dropping the curling iron on your kitty type burn. And it's gonna burn for a good 30 minutes. I really wanted to scratch but I couldn't. I'm telling you, this thang is on FIRE. So it betta work in the morning. And this YI better be gone after these 7 days bc I can't do dis no mo."

"I agree with everone else regarding the intense itchy feeling and pain right after inserting the cream, but it gets better after about 20 minutes. The trick is to use anti-itch cream or anti-itch wipes right after you apply the cream. These wipes were heaven-sent. My obgyn suggested the 7 day treatment because it's not as irritating as the 3 day one. This product works despite its annoying side effects so do not stop using if you can. After 1-2 treatments, the itchiness stopped during the day."

"I haven't used an over the counter medicine for a yeast infection in years. If I've ever gotten them in the past, my doctor has prescribed something, but I don't usually get them. I didn't want to make a visit to the doctor and so I tried Monistat 7. I remember this medicine hurting like CRAZY years ago but I thought I'd try it again since it's been so long. I wish I could go back in time!!!! On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst pain-burning-itching, I was at a 10 after inserting the medicine, and I'm just now at a 7 or 8, 18 minutes later. This kills!!!!! I will not be taking the other doses, and I will make an app't with my doctor for a pill to cure this. I don't know what to do to get rid of the intense burning."

"After three weeks of antibiotic for an upper respiratory infection I developed a yeast infection. My doctor prescribed Fluconazole 100 mg and Monistat 7. The burning from the cream vaginally I thought was part of the curing process. After 3 days I had burning so bad I stopped using it. Now after 3 doses of Flucon. and trying Monistat periodically again burning like fire ants in my crotch I am returning to my Doc screaming!!! No Monistat will ever be used again by me"

"So the first time I used this product I was burning like crazy! I ended up with an infection again a couple months later & decided to try again ( The same pack) although I only have 6 days of product the box says if I don't see a change in 3 days to see a doc, so I'm assuming the whole 7 days aren't all that necessary anyway.. Oh well this is my first day trying it after the last horrible experience. But this time I don't feel ANY burning... A lady told me tampering with the vagina before using the product can cause burning (ex. From itching or wiping vigorously) ..."

"I'm 5 months pregnant and was told I could only use the Monistat 7 to rid me of my YI. After itching for days I gave in and went and bought the expensive product. I had no I idea it would increase the burn itch by 10 fold!!! Awful awful awful, I immediately laid down after application and instantly started to burn and itch. After 15 mins I tried to rinse in shower it just seemed to get worse I did have some relief by using instant itch relief cream I used just outside vaginal opening I was able to lay down without writhing in pain but itching is still present!! Ice pack helped mildly, I would definitely recommend to lather up the instant itch relief cream."

"My first yeast infection and I'm 11 weeks pregnant. Talked to the dr and he prescribed me this monistat from hell. Inserted the cream thinking it would be fast relief. Was I ever wrong!! Itching, burning, rocking back and forth in severe pain. wondering if I did it correctly or if the dr prescribed me the wrong stuff. Attempted to clean it off with a baby wipe but it burned even more so I just sat there crying in pain, hoping it would stop soon. Started researching some natural ways to get rid of yeast infections. I found eating yogurt and garlic, if eaten or inserted in the vagina over night (I know, sounds weird) but I'm willing to try any alternative just so I don't have to go through that burning itchy feeling again."

"This was painful 2 minutes after inserting the cream I was in burning fiery itchy hell! I was concerned that I was having a serious reaction to the cream, then after reading others experiences I realized that this is one of the side effects, the package says to take at bedtime, I took during the day... I can not see how anyone would be able to sleep with the intensified burning! I too had to hold a washcloth to my crotch and cry."

"Right after insertion I thought "here comes relief" .....then the burn hit. I'm lying on floor trying to ride this out but it is painful beyond burning. I feel like I have acid up there. I don't do reviews but this product needs to be discontinued and every package remaining burned so no one goes through this."

"I had mild itch so, like everybody else, bought the 7 day treatment. The first day I applied and man did it burn and itch, I just thought that it was because it was reacting to the yeast infection and it will only get better. Man was I wrong! I am now on the 3rd day and it feels just as worst as the 1st day, after i insert the medicine. I can't do this for another 4 nights. Definitely stopping the medicine after today, I simply can't. The burning and itching is VERY uncomfortable and hurts. 10x worse than the itch during the day."

"I used Monistat 7 day and so far its ok. At first it feels a little uncomfortable but after about 15-20 minutes it goes away. I've seen everyone had bad results with the one day and three day... Maybe because they are stronger than the seven days. I hope the seven days works good... Today is my first day using it. Just wish the applicator was a little more comfortable!!!"

"This was horrible! I had the infection for about 3 days until I could get the cream and started it tonight. I put it in and in less than a minute felt the horrible itching and burning like everyone else. It was so bad I took it out and washed after less than five minutes. I will not be using this ever again and I will be telling my pharmacist about this. DO NOT BUY THIS IT IS THE WORST FEELING EVER."

"I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I got a year infection by antibiotics and was told by my obgyn to get monistat 7. I am on my 4th day and it burns like hell. I can't sleep my baby is moving around so much more then normal and the burning won't go away! I took a shower and have whiped down there with a cold wet soapy wash cloth. It has slowly gotten better but I am calling my doctor as soon as they open tomorrow! I will never but this brand ever again!!!!!!"

"Yesterday I was exhausted so the itching and burning didn't last long since I fell asleep. Tonight it was horrible, I just took a shower to clean it all off, that seemed to help some. I'm wondering if they need to recall their product or something. I've used it in the past and was fine. Maybe they added and ingredient than what used to be in it. All I have noticed is most of the reviews are pretty current so I'm starting to question what is wrong with the batch."

Agony! June 23, 2016

"This is my second day on the cream. Last night was the first time I inserted it, and it did itch a whole lot more than before. It made me cry! However, throughout today it didn't itch once like it did yesterday. I just put the second tube in and it only made it itch a little. So, I figured it's killing the infection. I do recommend going to the doctor and getting the pill and cream they prescribe you, it's a lot better than going good through all this itching. My doctor told me to get Monistat this time. If it doesn't work I will be at the doctor for that pill!!!"

"Oh my goddddddd my vag is so itchy!! :(:( this is absolutely terrible and NOT worth the $20 bucks, even if it does work. Save your money, go to the gyno, and get oral meds. This is coming from someone who used to have chronic YI's for 4 years straight! My YI's stopped when I started taking probiotics daily, eating less (much less) sugar, and drinking a lot of water with ACV (apple cider vinegar). I always went to the gyno and I'm so mad at myself for trying to save like $30-$40 bucks. I don't even understand how this is legal??? Like there are treatments that are oral that work and Boric Acid but they ALL need prescriptions. So annoying!! Ughhhh I hope my sleep aid kicks in soon :(. Never buying this again."

"I bought this for a previous yeast infection and experienced the same results. Unbearable itching and burning. I have another yeast infection in the early stages and thought maybe catching it early will result in less severe symptoms from the Monistat. I was very wrong. Within a minute of applying and inserting the cream, I experienced that unbearable itching and burning again. I thought maybe it was a temporary feeling, so I toughed it out for a few minutes. No relief at all, so I got up and used the bathroom. Then sat in the shower until I could manage to get it all out. Monistat does not work at all. If anything, it's giving you a taste of an even worse pain so maybe the yeast infection doesn't seem as terrible. 0/10 would buy again"

"I have not had a YI in about 20 years. Since I know the symptoms, when I felt irritated and itchy down there, although I had no discharge, I figured it was a YI, and to get the Monistat 7 cream. 20 years ago it was not available over the counter, only through prescription. The first night, within minutes, the burning and itching started and I was extremely uncomfortable. After a few hours, it stopped. Tonight is Day 2, and after insertion, I have no itching or burning sensation like I did the the first night. I will continue to use all of this product for the entire 7 nights. Actually, there is no reaction at all on night 2. I guess the medicine started working after the first night. Hang in there and give it a chance."

"I've been reading the reviews 5 minutes after I inserted the cream in. At first I thought I was too much of a pussy not being tough enough to endure to burning pain. I admit, I'm still a wuss, but Do not try this cream. It hurts so bad beyond what you can take. The worst part of my story is, my GYN doc was the one who told me to get it!!!!!!!! WHAT THE F***!! I followed every protocol, I called, made an appointment, met with the doc, got the recommended treatment. What part did I do wrong???? It's so painful!!!! Is it a punishment rather than treatment for not taking care of myself well enough?????? Not getting it ever again, I don't care about the pill side effect anymore! What could be worse than this on-fire feeling???"

"I wish I would have read this before buying. My second YI & the store I went to doesn't have many options to choose from only Monistat & generic for Miconazole. First night felt extreme burning upon inserting started to lessen after a few min. But oh my, I was scared I actually burned my insides off. 30 min here I am typing this. I'm glad I don't have it as bad as most. Its actually going away now. Not sure wether to try the second day though. I survived tonite. It's obvious the 3day one is much worse since it has more mg of medication. No itchy feeling here thank God. Do not buy this."

"This is my first night using monistat 7. I can tell you that the itching was so irritating...almost unbearable. But, after about 15 or so minutes, it subsided. I do still have itching, but it's much better. I'm hoping it gets better and everything gets back to normal down there"
