For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After taking antibiotics for BV, I felt like I was getting a yeast infection, so I got Monistat 7. I used it externally the first day, which burned for a while, then felt better. When I inserted it at bedtime, the burning started again. I have not used Monistat in many years, but I remember it as soothing, not painful. I don't know what they changed about it, but they need to change it back. After about an hour, the burning seems to have let up a little. From reading all the other reviews, at least I know I'm not the only one who is experiencing discomfort. On the upside, I got a little comic relief from some of the reviews. Not that I think everyone's pain is funny, but some of the descriptions are very colorful. Seriously, they need to fix this product because it didn't use to hurt this much. Update: the burning was not as bad the second night. I think after the medication had a couple of days to heal me, the rawness from the infection was better and therefore less burning. The burning on the third night was very minimal."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "27 weeks pregnant with a yeast infection. My doc recommended that I use Monistat 7. My first day burned like lava!! I almost went to the ER. 2nd day not so bad, but now I'm on my 3rd day and the burning with intense itching is back!! So uncomfortable, I can barely stand it... I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through the whole 7 days..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am abandoning this treatment on day three because it is extraordinarily uncomfortable to use - it basically feels like a combination of ants biting my cervix and a case of poison ivy in my vagina. It is worse than the yeast infection itself. I suffered through the first couple of days, which were pretty bad, but tonight I just couldn’t take it, and I used my bidet to try to rinse as much of this Monistat hot sauce out of me as possible. It was either that or felt like using a scratcher up in there to try to ease the itch and pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently pregnant and my OB recommended I try Monistat to help with my YI. I just tried it less than 30 minutes ago, and OMG the worst pain ever. I can’t handle the burning or itchiness, IDK which one because I am in so much pain and discomfort. This is the first night, IDK how I’m supposed to do it for another 6 nights. I will be calling my OB tomorrow to see if there is an alternative because this stuff is AWFUL!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was on (2) antibiotics because of a toothache. The antibiotics caused a yeast infection. The day I noticed the infection was when it was painful to wipe. I went and purchased Monistat 7 because it was a low dosage over a few days, which seemed reasonable because my infection did not seem severe. I used the inserted cream 7 nights straight, refrained from sex, and it cleared by the 6th day. It is uncomfortable at night. I was very fidgety, and the topical cream I only used twice because it felt too hot on me. The first two days after treatment, my vagina still felt wonky (medicine was still leaking), but there was no pain or itch. The 3rd day after the 7-day treatment, everything is back to normal. Though super annoying, it was totally effective and worth it in my experience."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I gave this a 10 because it definitely works, but if I had to rate the overall experience, I would give it a 2. Literally only keeping it above 0 because it is effective. The internal itching you get using this stuff is unbearable! The first night is always the absolute worst, and it gradually gets better every night after. After night 3, there usually isn’t much itching or burning. But my goodness, you would think there was a way to make this work without the discomfort or something they could provide you to ease the discomfort."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Day 1 - I inserted Monistat lying down and put it on the vulva and labia, then went to get up to do my nighttime routine (BAD IDEA). The intense burning started immediately and lasted for about an hour. From a scale of 1 to 10, the pain was about an 8. I wanted to get better, so I sucked it up and just went to sleep. Day 2: The next day, I woke up with a swollen vagina. It hurt to pee and walk. I was uncomfortable the entire day and just wanted this to end. I made sure to do my night routine, insert the cream lying down, and go straight to sleep. Surprisingly, there was no burning sensation this night. It was easier. Day 3: It didn’t hurt to pee this time. There’s still minor swelling and redness, but not as bad as Day 2. I think it really is working, so I’m going to continue it. The foul smell is still there, but it’s probably because I still need to finish it. Ladies, I know it burns, and I know it freaking sucks!!! But, get through it, finish it, and get better."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It works. The worse that your YI is, the worse it will hurt. As the inside of your vaginal area heals, the less discomfort you experience. I am pregnant with my first child, and this is my first YI. I have tried all-natural ACV and coconut oil, and tea tree and baking soda, prescriptions, and AZO. All slowed the YI symptoms but did not kill the candida. I'm on day 6 on the Monistat 7. There wasn't much discomfort like the first 3 days. And the symptoms of my YI are basically gone. They recommend pregnant women finish the whole treatment to fully kill the infections. It does work. Wish I would have tried it first. But I'm an all-natural girl, I had to try all the safe ways first."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I've had my YI for about 5 days now, and I've finally bought Monistat 7. Oh my! After I inserted my first application, I felt instant discomfort. I was so scared because it was burning and itching, and you really can't do anything to stop it. It's been about 30 mins, and I have been putting cold pieces of tissue on my lady parts, and it had been helping. Hopefully, tomorrow is easy. Wish me luck, ladies!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat 7 two months ago, and I felt the itchy sensation everyone is talking about. I felt it the first three nights, and on the fourth night, no itchiness at all. I think the itchiness is because the cream is killing the fungal infection. I'm using the cream again just to make sure it has all gone for good. The last doses, there is no itchiness or any discomfort. I highly recommend it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, so I realized I have a yeast infection after using a new type of soap. I went to a drug store to get meds. Usually, I get cheap stuff and it works pretty well, but I decided for some reason to get the more expensive Monistat brand this time. Well, I took a shower and got ready for bed. Inserted the medicine exactly how the directions say to. And literally, 30 seconds later, I was on fire and itching. This is terrible. The discomfort from the yeast infection is way better than going through this. It has been about 10 minutes, and I'm considering taking another shower. I came to Google for questions and found this chat group. I'm definitely not using this again!!!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I just used this cream almost 3 hours ago, and I think my vagina is about to fall off! It is worse than before! The intense burning sensation and discomfort. I was doing well with the vinegar, so I don't know why I bought this mess. Never again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First night using Monistat 7, burning like lava. Yesterday I had intense itching but didn't have the cream. Today the itching was almost gone, and I bought the medicine. I don't feel any itching, just immense burning sensation. I can handle it, but it's very uncomfortable and painful. Die fungus, die literally."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stick with it, ladies. Night 1 and 2 were so bad I thought something was wrong, and then I found this site and was relieved I wasn’t alone. It got much better night 3, barely any discomfort. Now on night 4, and I don’t feel a thing. Hopefully I’m on the downside of this nightmare."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have not had a YI in about 20 years. Since I know the symptoms, when I felt irritated and itchy down there, although I had no discharge, I figured it was a YI, and to get the Monistat 7 cream. 20 years ago, it was not available over the counter, only through prescription. The first night, within minutes, the burning and itching started, and I was extremely uncomfortable. After a few hours, it stopped. Tonight is Day 2, and after insertion, I have no itching or burning sensation like I did the first night. I will continue to use all of this product for the entire 7 nights. Actually, there is no reaction at all on night 2. I guess the medicine started working after the first night. Hang in there and give it a chance."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve been doing this treatment for only three days. Every night after I shower, I insert the cream. The first 15-20 minutes are the worst - burning, itching, and irritation. The first time I used this product, there was absolutely no pain, a little discomfort considering it was my first time. I don’t know why this is hurting so much, I’m going to research the ingredients to see what might be causing this. I’m experiencing the pain right now, it’s awful, I want to rinse it out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OMG!! I am speechless by how awful Monistat 7 is. I had no idea to come and look for these reviews, otherwise, I wouldn't be missing out on quality sleep to write this review. I have a high pain tolerance and rarely experience side effects to any meds or creams I take, but this was completely different. Immediately after inserting the cream into my vagina, my whole world was on fire. My YI has a mild itching sensation, but this was so bad that I couldn't tell if it was itching or burning. I felt stupid, as if I intentionally allowed fire ants to crawl in there. After thirty minutes of EXTREME discomfort and no relief, I tried my best to wash all of the cream away. My vagina is now red and irritated, and I have been unable to rest tonight. Ladies, please try oral relief if you don't have a prescription."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This product is horrible. You would think that after applying this cream you would feel at least somewhat better and at ease, well, that's not the case here. It made my lady parts burn and itch to the point where I couldn't take it anymore and had to take a shower for 40 minutes, and I'm still in discomfort! And no, it does not feel better after 3 hours. Yes, your symptoms of the YI improve, but I'm telling you it's not worth it!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently experiencing hell and can barely write this. I just inserted the first tube for the first time. I have a high tolerance for pain, and I am in hell. Do not take this stuff!! I have so much more to say, but I can’t take the pain! I just took a bath to try to get it all out, and it didn’t work, so I’m using an ice pack, and that’s not working! Screaming in pain and uncomfortable!!! Whoever man created this medicine needs to burn, burn, burn!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This may be TMI, but I first noticed something was up when I saw my vagina was swollen. Then I noticed discharge the next day, so I went ahead and got Monistat 7. I’ve used Monistat One twice before and had no issues, but this YI is more severe, to be fair. I’m on night two as I write this, and each time it’s been totally fine UNTIL I have to pee. It was probably in for a few hours with no issues, peed, and then 20 seconds later I’m in so much discomfort. I’m glad I’m not the only one! The next day, though, I felt a lot better. I also had put the cream around my vag as the instructions suggest, but I now know that contributes to the burning. I plan to stick with it because I’m committed now, but basically - if you need your YI gone, take this! It will work, but be prepared for the discomfort. (I’m laying in bed at 5:30 am with an ice pack down south)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I would never tell somebody to go and buy this product. I'm 35 weeks pregnant. I have a yeast infection, and I was told by the pharmacist this is just as good as any yeast infection cream treatments. I took the Monistat 7 Day treatments. First day out of 7, my vagina was on fire, it was burning. I don't need to feel this type of pain before I push out a baby. I had to run my vagina under cool water until it stopped burning. It was, I would say, an 8 for pain and discomfort. I would never suggest this cream for anybody. If that is how they try and deal with yeast infections, that is ridiculous."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ladies, please don't use this. I’ve used Monistat 1 and 3 before, and I’ve never experienced what I am right now. Usually, it’s normal for it to feel a little bit uncomfortable and tingle a little bit. But after 2-3 minutes after inserting the cream, my coochie was on literal fire. I tried laying in my bed to see if the pain would go away... it didn’t. It got so bad that I had to hop in a cool bath. Of course, that didn’t work, if anything, it made the burning sensation 20 times worse. I was in the bath for 30 minutes, crying my eyes out. It got so bad that I almost went to urgent care. This is my first day taking this, and it will be my last. I’m going to the doctors or quick care in the morning. Listen to these reviews, ladies, please. I’m still in pain right now. 10/10 wouldn’t do this stuff again!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So the only reason I agreed to do this in the first place was because I couldn’t take the medicine the doctor can give you for a yeast infection because I am pregnant. So I just tried this out, and I was fine at first until I got up, and then I suddenly got this itching and burning sensation, and I’m not going to lie, it’s almost unbearable because it’s so uncomfortable, and I started freaking out. But after reading the reviews, I guess this is pretty common. My advice if you are going to take this: ONLY DO IT IF THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET THE PILLS FROM YOUR DOCTOR, and when using this, make sure you are not getting back up out of bed and just apply it and stay exactly where you are and go to sleep (if you can). I just hope to see results, and hopefully, night two is not as bad because it is not a fun experience at all, but I do not think the product is bad, it just has to work its magic in a super uncomfortable way!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Only on day 1 and, like everyone else, experienced insane itching and discomfort upon application. Seriously thought about scraping it out with a Q-tip, but after a little Google searching, found throwing an ice pack between my legs and lying down so much better! Honestly, I figured I'd suffer through it to get rid of the infection. But it's so much more bearable when you ice your lady parts."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first yeast infection so of course I was freaking out when I started itching and my vagina started to swell. I called my doctor and was told to get this product and use for 7 days. I didn’t wait till bedtime and chose to use it...BIG MISTAKE! I squatted and injected the cream...couple minutes after it burned but it stopped a little while (about 10-15 minutes later) but it left me sore. However, the following morning I felt better! The swelling was gone and I no longer uncomfortable. I’m now on Day 2 and I injected it laying on my back, knees bent and immediately laid down. This time it slightly burned but overall it was good! I recommend using this. Don’t let the first day scare you! It gets better. It is better to lay flat on your back with your knees bent to inject the cream and immediately lay down so that it won’t come out and cause burning. For the first dosage, try to reduce liquids because urinating after you have applied the cream will be a big discomfort."
