Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I had a Boston Scientific spinal cord stimulator implanted a few months ago, after failed surgical back syndrome, from surgery number 4. During my recovery, I was given Robaxin 750. Though the implant was a huge success for me, the muscle spasms and skeletal pain were still there in places. The Robaxin makes my shoulders and lower muscles feel so much better. I plan to ask my PCP to carry on with the medication. I see no problems since it's not an opioid, narcotic, or addicting. Some people it will help, and some it won't. I have had no side effects or reactions."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "Have tried using Robaxin 500 mg tablets for degenerative neck and back pain, along with shoulder pain (associated with the neck pain). It does not touch the pain. Whoever said tic tac was right on the money. Threw mine away."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I have been taking Robaxin for spinal stenosis, degenerative disc, lower back pain, muscle spasms, and migraines. I've been on it about a week now, and this medication is horrible! It does not help at all. I'm still in pain all day, every day, my migraines have been getting worse, and it upsets my stomach, so I stopped taking it. My migraines subsided, and I have been able to eat properly."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "Works for my neck and back muscle spasms, and seems to really help spasms in the colon (I have microscopic colitis, which can feel like a wringer-washer inside), and maybe even helped settle down the esophageal spasms. Started off with extra strength, then as I felt a little better, switched to regular strength. Less side effects with lower dose. I already take a med with acetaminophen in it, so was happy to find a med that was straight Robaxin, without the added acetaminophen."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed Robaxin after neck surgery because my doctor said it's the best one. I only had to take narcotics for a few days because Robaxin really works on muscle and bone pain and calms down nerves too. I can't take some muscle relaxers due to them causing drowsiness or mood issues, but Robaxin suits me well when I need it. I have a neck and back flare a few times a year and I never hesitate to ask for Robaxin for a few weeks. There are really absolutely no side effects. I can't really tell that I take it, maybe a couple of days of slight tiredness for 30 minutes to 1 hour after the dose, but it fades quickly. It's safe and effective. I highly recommend it!"

For Opiate Withdrawal "I’m shocked! I’m withdrawing from fentanyl/oxy/hydros, and I took 1200 mg of Robaxin, and not only did it take the symptoms away, I feel normal and energized with no urge to use at all. It’s only been an hour or so, but so far, it’s been incredible. Just a little bit of a runny nose. I’m glad I found this!!!"

For Muscle Spasm "I have fibromyalgia and additional pain from osteoarthritis. I work full-time at a demanding professional job, and taking opiates and/or muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine frequently is not an option - I need to be able to think. The fibro pain disappears when I take methocarbamol and it doesn't seem to affect my ability to think, nor does it make me sleepy. It works very well for me."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "Pulled my lower abdominal muscles working. These work great for the spasms I've been experiencing. I take one 750 mg Robaxin and 800 mg of ibuprofen. It takes about 2.5 hours to fully kick in, but then I'm good for 6-7 hours. At the 8-hour mark, the spasms are back in full force, and I repeat the medicine."

For Muscle Spasm "I am a 65-year-old paraplegic with central cord pain. 31 years now in a wheelchair. I am maxed out on Baclofen and Valium. I started using methocarbamol 2 months ago. It works the best out of all the spinal cord meds I currently use. I’m taking a dose of 750 mg twice daily. I will be asking for more at my next visit."

For Muscle Spasm "I'm 77 and have suffered with debilitating pain for many years in my spine, knees, hips, and shoulders. I have 10 vertebrae fused in my spine, and both knees have been replaced. Recently, I spent two months in my easy chair all day because it hurt too much to get up or attempt to walk. My worst pain and 'charlie horse' type muscle spasms came from the C2 vertebrae just above the five vertebrae fusion in my neck. The doctor said it was primarily arthritis pain. I was prescribed methocarbamol 750 mg by my spine surgeon rather than fusing yet another vertebra. I took the first one that evening. I was SHOCKED! For the first time since I was about 20, I had NO pain anywhere on my body. I got out of bed the first morning, stood up straight, and walked to the restroom without tiny baby steps. I started physical therapy immediately, and now after three weeks, I still feel like I'm 20 again. I have stopped taking it for a few days as I had begun to feel mentally flaky but otherwise fine."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "Robaxin has worked very well for my back muscle spasms. Also for tension headache due to muscle tension in my neck and head. My only side effects were initially a feeling of constantly needing to urinate, even when there was no need. But that went away after a few weeks. Now, though, I have been experiencing bad dreams and broken sleep, the problem is I don't know if these negative effects are from the Robaxin or something else I am taking. I do take several other medications in addition to the Robaxin."

For Muscle Spasm "After trying several medications for my fibromyalgia, none of which did anything for my pain but Lyrica, and it is 700 dollars a month WITH my insurance... who can afford that?? I sat down with my doctor and cried... she suggested trying 750 mg of methocarbamol every 4 hours along with 2 mg Xanax twice a day. My doctor is a miracle worker... in the last 6 months I have been taking this medicine, I have had 4 bad fibro days... instead of 8-15 a month... I can handle that!! I haven't had any side effects... the first 3 days I took it, it did take a little getting used to... but have had zero issues."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I took this for several days. Took at 8 pm, 6 am still wide awake and still in pain. So not only was I in horrible pain, I was trying to function with no sleep. Got a different med that worked. New Dr. (military) prescribed it again. I told her it didn't work. But had to prove it. Took it again. Same thing. It kept me up all night and didn't help the pain."

For Muscle Spasm "I've been using methocarbamol for many years for my fibromyalgia, arthritis, stenosis, and pinched, bulging nerves, and it helps. I don't feel any side effects, and it is not addictive. I only take it when ibuprofen doesn't work. I can also take them together. I have to be consistent with it in order to feel relief. It is not a miracle drug. It does help with the spasms."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I have taken Robaxin 750 in place of my usual dose of MS Contin at night, and I’m able to get a full night of good sleep without waking up in pain and without the painful charley horses I was getting in my calves and feet because of compression on my nerve roots. Robaxin is the only muscle relaxer I can tolerate - has no side effects for me at all. Best of all - skipping that PM dose of morphine is really good! When I first took Robaxin three years ago for back spasms, it seemed to NOT work for me. I don’t know what changed, but I’m happy that it’s working now - especially that it can be used as a replacement for my PM opiate. Very happy with it. Always consult your Dr. first."

For Muscle Spasm "I have periodic spasms, mostly in my back and up through my neck, causing severe headaches. I'm not sure why, but my body hurts like it does when you have the flu. The medicine not only took away the pain but also relaxed me. The only side effect was loss of appetite. I'm allergic to NSAIDs, so I ate Tylenol like M&Ms. I feel great on this and am able to be active."

For Muscle Spasm "Injured my back on Sunday night, was in severe pain, next morning so severe I could hardly get out of bed, after moving around with great pain and managed to get comfortable in a chair without moving. Daughter-in-law suggested I try a generic Robaxin, was very reluctant as I don't normally take drugs, let alone painkillers, but finally took the recommended 2 large tablets with water, and within 1/2 hour I was practically pain-free all day. I took the recommended doses for 2 days only, and my back is vastly improved. Fantastic product."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "Aggravated a herniated disc, which resulted in sciatic pain down the back of one leg, and for some reason a muscle in my right side. The side pain was with excruciating spasms, my back would seize up from one side across to the other side. Flexeril did nothing. Couldn’t take it, so went to ER, and the doctor gave me a Toradol shot and 750 mg Robaxin. I slept from 11:30 pm till 8:30 am, hadn't slept that long in probably 10 years. Woke up, pain was much less, but spasms started up a little, so I took another at 12 pm. Started feeling a little dizzy and drowsy soon after, so I slept for about 5 hours, and at 8 pm was still drowsy. The pain was there, which I could deal with using 800 mg Motrin, but the spasms were gone. After reading about the 30 or so side effects, and spasms gone, I'm good. I won’t take any more."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I take Robaxin so that I can stay awake and alert in the daytime and do more with less pain. I'm on paracetamol, gabapentin, and morphine. If I increase the doses of these, I become unconscious, but if I take Robaxin at night, it helps me sleep. Odd. I'm not sure of the side effects as I have so many from the other medicines. A balancing act of trial and error is needed, but it is well worth getting rid of the pain for a while."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I have three herniated discs C4-C7, cervical kyphosis, spinal stenosis, and am taking Robaxin 500 mg twice a day along with MS Contin 15 mg ER. I've been on Soma and Valium for my muscle spasms related to the kyphosis. I was just put on Robaxin by a new pain management doctor. It doesn't do anything to help my muscle spasms. I'm very disappointed with this medicine. I've been on Flexeril and Skelaxin, but those didn't work for me either. I can't take Baclofen because I have epilepsy. I'm hoping my pain management doctor will let me just get back on the Soma so I can get some relief from my awful muscle spasms."

For Muscle Spasm "Someone stated that this is an opioid. I wanted to clear that misconception up right now. No, it's not. Robaxin (or methocarbamol) is a central nervous system depressant (as are narcotic medications) and a muscle relaxant, but it does not have addictive properties. It's important to know this, in my opinion, because some people, such as myself, cannot take narcotics."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I was given this medication for degenerative disc disease and muscle spasms. I only take it at night because it has heavy sedative effects. I.e., I take it at 7:00 pm, go to bed, and if I wake up at 10:30 to use the bathroom, I feel like I'm drunk, stumbling, and uncoordinated. It makes you sleep through, unfortunately, it didn't do much to help the pain. I still wake up with pain in my back."

"I have dealt with costochondritis for 25 years. It first presented as the most acute form known as Tietze syndrome. I had a very large bump protruding from my anterior left chest. I was injected directly in the bump, and provided a strong anti-inflammatory. I was symptom-free for some time thereafter. At about twice a year regularity, I now have the more generalized issue of chest pain - front to back - stabbing and burning. I was fortunate to have a physician who tried a muscle relaxer to address this one time. It was the most immediate and extended relief I had ever had. So, for the past decade or so, I have been using that approach. The first one was cyclobenzaprine, which works very well, but essentially puts me to sleep for a day. However, with methocarbamol, I can take it during the day and not be drowsy. I can work, or drive, and be a human again. I have never actually finished my prescription in any year. I end up discarding and getting a new Rx at each annual physical."

Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I use Robaxin for muscle spasms in my lower back. When I feel a slight twinge, I take a 750 mg caplet and 800 mg ibuprofen. If I catch it quickly, it really helps control the pain. I take one every 4-6 hours for several days, it definitely helps me."
