Methocarbamol for Muscle Spasm "I have been taking this medication for about 3 months now, hoping something will change and it will start to help me, but it's not. I've also been taking ibuprofen along with it. But I still have a lot of pain. My right hip is so much worse than the left. All I want is relief. Even a little bit, I would rejoice."

For Opiate Withdrawal "Back in '07, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I was pretty bad off. So going through all of that, I found out that I have a lot of back problems. So for 15 years now, I've been taking 30 mg of oxy, 4 times a day, and 9, 10 mg of methadone a day. So my doctor got raided by the FBI, no shit. So it's been very hard. I get no sleep, I'm in constant pain, and I'm running to the bathroom all the time. I went to the ER last night, and they gave me one of these pills. It did seem to help, I got a few hours of sleep. And that's one of the worst things for me: it's not being able to sleep. I have to say that this is worse than going through cancer. So at the ER, they told me to go to a methadone clinic. So I woke up today and thought about it, but that would just put me back to the beginning of feeling like shit. So I'm glad I got on here to see all of your stories. So I'm going to go get my script of these, and I'm praying to God that it will help. The WD from methadone is bad, I can't take feeling like this."

For Muscle Spasm "Methocarbamol does not work for my calf muscle injury. I have stopped taking this because it’s a waste of time, it’s like popping candy. I have been dealing with lack of sleep because of the pain. I need to find something else because I can’t function this way."

For Muscle Spasm "Seems to be working a lot better than other muscle relaxers I've been prescribed. My doctor prescribed 500 mg tablets and to take 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed (PRN). I usually have to take 2 tablets in the morning, 1-2 late afternoon, and ALWAYS take 2 at bedtime or I'll be up all night in pain and constant spasms in my lower back into my buttocks. I also take a long-acting narcotic and an instant-release narcotic. I never experienced this type of pain until I delivered my son 4 years ago. I did receive an epidural, which is the only thing I can think of that may have caused all this pain and spasms."

For Muscle Spasm "I was currently taking Soma and Norco 7.5/325 for 2 minor herniated discs and a slipped disc. Also receiving epidural spinal injections. Muscle spasms were so bad that I ended up in the ER twice in four days. Full body spasms. While there, I had an IV both times of Robaxin, along with other strong pain meds. I just switched from the Soma since I actually felt relief. This is the first night, feeling a little pain, but not as bad as my normal pain level of 6. I am optimistic that this will bring some relief. Time will tell. It seems to work miracles for some and not others, for me, it definitely helped in the hospital, so I'm giving it a chance."

For Opiate Withdrawal "Alright, guys. Fifteen years ago, a guy who was in a big 450 drilling truck rear-ended me. I ended up having total artificial disc replacement and thoracic outlet surgeries on both sides of my neck and upper chest to remove ribs and muscles, etc. About five years, surgeons. Anyway, pain for life was the consensus. I was on 360 mg of Oxy, 300 mg of some, 300 mg of Lyrica, 100 mg of trazodone, and I think around 3200 mg of motrin, 300 mg of Cymbalta. After my last surgery, I decided I needed to find out what my 'base pain' really was now after all the cutting and rearranging. So, while my wife was gone for two weeks, I started dropping all my meds, starting with the Oxy. Lyrica helped. I got down to 90 mg on Oxy, then I got rid of the Soma and Lyrica-oh, and 300 mg a day of Cymbalta! It was hard. So, this month, I titrated down from 80 mg Oxy down to 5 and then quit altogether. An old bottle of methocarbamol is how I'm doing it. Stuff was a godsend."
