Lemborexant for Insomnia "Tried a lot of sleep meds and this is what works best for me. Belsomra is good too. I take 5mg of Dayvigo and prazosin at night before bed. They work well together. I think I may need to go up to 10mg though after I get adjusted. It's been about 3 weeks or so now and it really does work. Prazosin helps with night terrors, so I don't experience any of that, but I will say I felt a bit 'high' the first few days of adjustment when I woke up. No crazy side effects, just a bit of a headache here and there, but that's pretty normal with new sleep meds. I would recommend you try it if others are not working for you! I won't say it's a "miracle cure", but it works better than anything else has for me. I don't know what all these bad reviews are about, so just keep an open mind. It never hurts to try and stop if it's not for you. Hope this helps someone. Insomnia sucks. Sleep well, everyone."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "BEWARE. DO NOT USE DAYVIGO. I've been taking Ambien 10mg for approximately 1.5 years and had no issues. My doctor suggested Dayvigo as an alternative. I gave it a go. Took the 10mg version 1 time and had the worst sleep of my life. The onset feeling was dizziness and very heavy eyes. I was lying down in bed and attempted to sleep. Within minutes, I experienced tremendous amounts of anxiety, feeling of racing heart, heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, headache, restlessness, and agitation. It felt as if I was on an upper and a downer at the same time. I tossed and turned. It was a miserable experience. After about 1.5 hours of taking it, I forced myself to throw up in an attempt to rid my body of this toxin. This accomplished nothing as the drug had already been absorbed into my bloodstream. I drank a lot of water and ate food to try and minimize the drug's effects. The half-life for Dayvigo 10mg is 19 hours! So I'll have to be patient while my body metabolizes this awful substance."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Dayvigo 5 mg. Dr. advised to take in bed. First night, headache. No sleep. Second night, headache worse, pacing, swore I had to make myself stop thinking strange things. Third night, same, only now agitated and on edge. No sleep. Fourth night, I went back to my old meds and called my Dr. Not a drug for this insomniac."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Since I've been taking this Dayvigo, I've been getting headaches, having memory loss, and burning, stabbing pains in my feet and bad joint pain in my legs. This medicine is the worst thing. I think it should be taken off the market, some of the bad effects aren't even listed."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "After taking Dayvigo, I wake up with a headache, and I'm groggy till about 1. I never did that with Ambien. I stopped taking Ambien because I was having memory loss, so my doctor loves this sleeping pill better than any, because he says it affects a different part of the brain. I’ve only taken it three times. The best dose is seven and a half milligrams. I can’t deal with being groggy that long or headache, but I’m going to stay on and see if I get used to it. Hoping it will be okay!"

Lemborexant for Insomnia "First night trying this useless medicine. Took it two hours ago, and I am more awake than when I took it, only now with a miserable headache. Why don't Drs, or in my case, a nurse practitioner, tell you the prices of medications prior to giving you a sample?!! I would NOT recommend this medication for any reason! I wish I could have given it a zero rating!"

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I’ve been on 10 mg for 11 days, and I haven’t been sleeping any better. I haven’t had any side effects other than a headache. The headache could totally be unrelated, so take that for what it’s worth. I hope the drug works much better for other people than it did for me."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I’ve been on 5 mg of Dayvigo for a week now, and I get restless legs, vivid racing thoughts, and a headache. I finally fall asleep 1-2 hrs after taking it. Sometimes the restless legs stay with me throughout the night. It’s not like Ambien, which relaxed me and put me to sleep within 20 mins, and I woke really, really refreshed. I’m bummed as I was hopeful, as I have chronic insomnia."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I've been taking Dayvigo for a month now. I have weird dreams, headaches, and anxiety. I take it with my trazodone 300 mg. I seem to sleep much better, but it's hard to wake up sometimes. Groggy. I do wake up to pee and go back to sleep pretty well. I do take medicine for anxiety, but lately after taking Dayvigo I feel more anxious. Not sure if I will keep taking it."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I am a busy trial lawyer with severe, chronic primary insomnia. I took Ambien for 20 years, and it was terrific. Then it just stopped working. Completely. Next, my internist tried off-label uses of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. I am neither depressed nor psychotic, and these drugs made me feel bizarre. More importantly, they didn't lead to sleep. And now, Dayvigo. A literal nightmare. The first time I took it, I was listening to the TV with my eyes closed, hoping for sleep. I did sleep-sort of. I thought ten minutes had passed, but it was two hours. I did not feel rested, I did not dream, I had a severe headache. And I couldn't go back to 'sleep.' I took it four more times and then gave up. Second night, it didn't work at all. Third and fourth nights, it was like I was awake, but time had passed, so I had a rough sort of sleep. Unrestful, headachy, awake-sleep, non-REM sleep. Fifth day, I took 20 mg., and it still didn't work. I gave up."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I tried it for a week. The first night I took it around 9:30 pm with good sleep practices. I didn’t sleep at all that night. The next night I tried again and didn’t sleep at all. After that, I was tired and had really bad headaches and felt groggy and confused during the day. These were different from what I get after a regular bad sleep. Days 4, 5, and 6 I started getting very intense bad dreams, sleep paralysis, and my daytime depression got worse. The side effects actually started really affecting me, I’m so glad I’m off it now. Biggest dud I’ve ever tried."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I’ve been taking zopiclone 3.75 mg (broke 7.5 in half) for years. My body got so used to it that I either had to increase the dosage or change the medication. I did try zopiclone at 7.5 mg, and the next day my head was too heavy, it affected my functionality. My doctor suggested I try Dayvigo and gave me samples. Tried it last night for the first time. I got absolutely no sleep. I will try again tonight, but without getting any sleep, I don’t think I can keep trying."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I tried Dayvigo for the first time last night. My Dr. prescribed me 5 mg but told me that I could take 2 if needed. I took the first one and I was still wide awake 3 hours later, so I took the 2nd one. I will never touch those pills again! I had very vivid nightmares all night, but I was awake enough to know I was dreaming. I was terrified and felt like I was tripping. I also got the chills, but then sweating at the same time. I'm exhausted this morning, headache, and my anxiety is high. I've been on Ambien and Lunesta, and never have I been terrified like I was with Dayvigo. I feel like I paid $310 to be tortured all night."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I was so excited when I heard about this class of drugs. My problem was falling asleep, and it seemed to address the problem. Hurrah! The first night I took it, I could not fall asleep. Up all night. So I thought, perhaps I need to try it for more nights. No such luck. Terrible sinus headache with it. Thought it was unrelated until I looked it up. Also got body aches and pains, which may be unrelated. 6 nights, and I feel terrible."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I am a chronic insomniac. Participated in sleep studies many, many years ago. Was previously prescribed Ambien (10 mg), works like a charm, just very highly addictive. Then moved to Trazodone 100 mg, which worked well, however, due to some medication changes, my doctor suggested I try Dayvigo. My experiences are similar to the horrible experiences on here. I took 5 mg at about 10 pm. About 30-45 minutes later, I started getting a headache, followed by extreme nausea. I got up to take some anti-nausea medication. Symptoms worsened, now I have what feels like a racing heart and muscle cramps. Never really slept. The next day, I tried to work out on our elliptical, and it was nearly impossible. Never using this medication ever again."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Dayvigo 10 mg. Very similar experience as many of the people who ranked this drug as 1/10, wish there was a “0.” I initially became very trippy and figured, wow, maybe it’s going to work. But the trippy-ness turned into a 5 hr drug-induced paralysis, it was terrible. I also had a splitting headache the next day and never did get to sleep until 6 am the next morning, just wanted it to stop, but it wouldn’t. I’m glad it has worked for some, but I will never try it again. Oh, and I also had terrible cotton mouth. Jan, 2023."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I have suffered with insomnia for many years. I can fall asleep, but I cannot stay asleep during the night. Dayvigo is the only medication that I have found that doesn’t give me negative side effects (headaches, dizziness, fatigue the next day). I am alert the next day after taking Dayvigo."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I have had insomnia for a long time. I'm taking Rivotril 1 mg for sleep, but it stopped working, so I decided to try Dayvigo. Best pill I have ever taken. I take 5 mg just before I go to bed. It takes me 15 minutes to sleep. I tried 10 mg, but it gave me a headache, so I went back to 5 mg. I'm also still taking Rivotril."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "All I can do is tell you about my experience with this drug. I woke up with a severe headache, body aches, and muscles that wouldn't move. My hands felt like it was the worst experience ever. Please read the other reviews. They are exactly what I had. This drug should be reviewed way more by the CDA. It may be non-habit forming, but it was like being strapped into a chair on a ride you never wanted to get on. This is my personal experience. We are all different, so it's up to you to decide. For me, it was truly an awful experience, I will not ever take this drug again. Thankfully, I didn't pay for it as my doctor gave me a free trial. It was simply horrible. Good luck to those that don't have muscle paralysis and a headache or migraine like one has ever had. Please take caution and do not take 10 mg. I took 5 mg and am glad I did. I wouldn't be here writing this if I didn't stop at one dose of 5 mg."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I took my first 10 mg Dayvigo last night, one pill. Took over an hour to go to sleep. Woke myself up screaming, or trying to, because I was having a nightmare someone or something was trying to kill me. My mouth was too dry to scream for help, but I kept trying to get out the sound. I had a headache. I got up and went to the bathroom to wake up from the nightmare, but when I went back to sleep, I had another nightmare and woke myself up trying to scream again. I'll never take this drug again. It was terrifying, the nightmares were so real. I've taken 1/2 a 10 mg Zolpidem for several years and it worked fine, but afraid it was causing my double vision, so a friend recommended Dayvigo that she takes. I'll risk the double vision before ever taking Dayvigo again. I'm glad they work for my friend, she can have the other 29 pills, they're really expensive."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Dayvigo works great for me. I was on 5 mg for a month and 10 mg for over a year now. I have had trouble sleeping my entire life. I can remember taking Benadryl a few nights a week as a kid just to sleep. Within the last 4 years, I have been on Lunesta, Ambien, Sonata, Temazepam, Gabapentin, Seroquel, Hydroxyzine, Trazodone, and Klonopin for insomnia. All of those medications either became ineffective after a few weeks/months or had terrible side effects (Trazodone was the worst for me). The Dayvigo has not given me any bad side effects other than dry mouth and a headache in the morning. I would recommend it."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "It works well as I fell asleep fairly fast, and I slept deeply. I awaken early in the morning and ready to get a start on my day. But I have awakened with a bad headache and a panic attack several times, but not always. I do feel like I’m not tired during the day but feel a little apathetic about getting my work done. On the upside, I can stop taking it without any rebound insomnia, which is thrilling, as I know people who are on Ambien and can’t seem to get off of it."

For Insomnia "After years of insomnia and 28 years of alcohol addiction recovery, I have finally got something that is low risk but works! 10 mg on my way to bed… I read for about 10 minutes before my eyes get heavy and I turn the light off. I wake up once or twice to use the washroom, no feeling of unsteadiness, and fall back to sleep for at least 8 hours every night. No headache, anxiety, or nightmares. I do have dreams (that I’ve never had before), and they are enjoyable! After a cup of coffee, I’m ready to go… Thank you, Dayvigo! By the way, I live in Canada, and they are fully covered by my government-sponsored health plan."
