For Insomnia "Took Dayvigo last night and decided then it would be a good time to research this medication. My sleep was comparable to every negative review on this page. I had incredibly vivid and stressful dreams and was woken multiple times during the night with the most unpleasant physical sensation. So discouraged that this medicine is highly pushed by doctors as a superior alternative to other z-drugs."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo has given me my life back. Seriously - don't let the negative reviews deter you from trying this medication. I have had insomnia for most of my life, and Dayvigo is the first treatment that has worked consistently to help me fall asleep (and stay asleep throughout the night). If I do wake up, I fall back asleep very quickly. The best part is that I wake up feeling fully rested and sharp the following day. A few things I have observed: 1. Try different strengths. 5 mg did nothing for me, but 10 mg was perfect. 2. Give it some time. The longer I've been on it, the better it has worked. 3. You're going to have some vivid dreams and possibly nightmares. I personally enjoy dreaming! 4. I've personally had zero side effects, and it does not interact with my many medications. This is awesome, as most sleep medications have a laundry list of side effects/interactions. 5. Don't expect to wake up if someone needs you. Once I'm out, I'm out. I hope this helps!"

For Insomnia "I have tried literally everything on the market for insomnia. Was using Quetiapine, but I get next-day grogginess a lot. My Dr. had some samples of Dayvigo and said it would be a more 'natural' sleep and not knock me out. I am very tolerant of almost anything with a sedative effect. It took a while to kick in, but it was the most horrible 'sleep' I've ever had. I had horrible, vivid nightmares, and when I woke up, I felt so drugged. I woke up so much during the night, but was so groggy I couldn't actually get up. It made me restless, and I don't ever snore, but my husband had to leave because I was snoring so loud, and he said I was sitting up and talking to him, but I was obviously asleep. I will NEVER take this again. Throwing them in the trash."

For Insomnia "Lifelong insomnia sufferer. Z & benzos became entirely unreliable due to tolerance years ago but rotated them anyway for hope. Very positive experience with Dayvigo (10 mg) - for me as it improves sleep issues in all respects. My tricks: empty stomach only. It just won't work for me otherwise. I take it when I go to bed, not when I stay up hoping it will 'knock me out.' It won't. I have a small window of time for it to gently work for sleep onset, so I get in bed, take it - and I don't ruminate ('Is this working?'). This is critical. I wake up 1-2x/bathroom; fall back asleep (to my own surprise, never happened prior). Insurance denied, so I paid out of pocket, but just too expensive and returned to my old sleepless self (Belsomra didn't work for me at all). I discovered the Dayvigo coupon works regardless of insurance denial. So, I'm back on it with the same success. Rarely - vivid dreams, which I happen to enjoy. No morning hangover for me. Worth a shot. I'm lucky I guess (finally)."

For Insomnia "I have finally found a sleeping med that does what it promotes. To me, battling disturbed sleeping patterns and plain old insomnia. This is literally a miracle sleep pill. No crucial hangover, did experience vivid dreams my first night, but does also help my PTSD-related insomnia and keeps my sleeping hours straight. Best to take on an empty stomach, I suggest. I would give this 15 stars if possible. Thank God for Dayvigo."

For Insomnia "I was given a sample pack by my doctor to try because I was having trouble going to sleep and waking up with only 4-5 hours of sleep. I tried it for almost a week, but the horrible side effects weren’t worth it. I had vivid nightmares and would try to scream for help but couldn’t get the words out in my dream. Weird doesn’t begin to describe it. I’m sure there are people that will benefit from this drug, but not me."

For Insomnia "I’ve been taking Zopiclone off and on for years as I struggle with falling and staying asleep. I was recently given a trial of Dayvigo, and while it’s not perfect, I definitely feel like I’ve had a more complete night's sleep since I’ve started. I still have a tendency to wake up a few times during the night, but have gone back to sleep quickly and easily. The downsides have been that I feel groggy for about the first hour or so upon waking up, and I have had vivid dreams (not nightmares). It’s fast-acting (feel ready for sleep in about 20-30 minutes). If I do wake up, getting back to sleep is no issue, I haven’t needed to get up if I do wake, and most importantly, I feel like I’ve had a more complete night's sleep in the morning. I’d recommend trying Dayvigo if other meds haven’t worked. It won’t be for everyone, but don’t let the negative reviews scare you."

For Insomnia "Had I read all the negative reviews prior to trying Dayvigo, I probably would've never tried it. Fortunately for me, the medication worked exactly as needed. I have chronic insomnia, where I fall asleep fairly easily, but then wake up every hour or so for at least an hour at a time, leading to 3 to 4 hours a night tops. I've tried Xanax, Ambien, and Seroquel, and those first two, although they worked, are now being linked to dementia and Alzheimer's, which I have no desire to develop. Seroquel also worked, but kept me tired all day. Dayvigo 5 mg has thus far (3 weeks) worked like a champ. I sleep through the night every night and fall asleep within 15 minutes of taking it. I have noticed a few vivid dreams, which I've found an added benefit, if anything. No sleep paralysis or other negative side effects. Because it's new, it is very costly, but I'll pay anything for a peaceful night's sleep."

For Insomnia "I've been taking Dayvigo for a month now. I have weird dreams, headaches, and anxiety. I take it with my trazodone 300 mg. I seem to sleep much better, but it's hard to wake up sometimes. Groggy. I do wake up to pee and go back to sleep pretty well. I do take medicine for anxiety, but lately after taking Dayvigo I feel more anxious. Not sure if I will keep taking it."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo has been a godsend for my sleep. I had crippling insomnia and used Ambien, which literally started causing cognitive issues during the day. I was groggy and a zombie. Dayvigo works and has been safe for me to use every day if I need to, no grogginess in the morning and well-rested. Takes 20 minutes tops for me to fall asleep. I do get vivid dreams, but they are all pleasant and have even been informative and prophetic. I write my dreams down in a dream journal. I’ve been taking Dayvigo for two years with no negative side effects."

For Insomnia "I've been on and off Dayvigo (the 5 mg dose) for the last 4 months. On for up to a couple of weeks at a time, then off because I need a break from the side effects -- I'm cognitively impaired the next day... not sleepy, just can't concentrate at all, sometimes can't even read. I'm glad to have it on hand to take when needed, because Dayvigo does actually put me to sleep in 30 minutes to an hour BUT the sleep is quite fragmented, and I wake up a lot. Vivid dreams, but nothing problematic and no sleep paralysis. It definitely works best if you take it on an empty stomach. Not addictive like the benzos or Ambien, so worth trying if you're looking for an alternative to those (which I was). If you're coming off from a long time on one of those, you're not getting the true effects of Dayvigo on its own and might be experiencing Ambien withdrawal instead -- wait for it, Ambien (or whatever) to get out of your system before determining if this works. It still might not, but..."

For Insomnia "I tried it for a week. The first night I took it around 9:30 pm with good sleep practices. I didn’t sleep at all that night. The next night I tried again and didn’t sleep at all. After that, I was tired and had really bad headaches and felt groggy and confused during the day. These were different from what I get after a regular bad sleep. Days 4, 5, and 6 I started getting very intense bad dreams, sleep paralysis, and my daytime depression got worse. The side effects actually started really affecting me, I’m so glad I’m off it now. Biggest dud I’ve ever tried."

For Insomnia "My regular sleep med is Ambien. Hoping to find a better aid, my PCP sampled me Dayvigo. Sleep came in about 20 mins, along with very vivid, almost lucid dreams. Some very erotic. No good sleep after 2 hrs. Other than the very sexy, vivid dreams, this drug was worthless for me."

For Insomnia "Took 5 mg for 4 nights and did not sleep. I was made incredibly restless and kept violently tossing and turning in bed. It stressed me out so bad I developed back pain. The few moments my body has been exhausted enough to lose consciousness, I got much worse, much more vivid nightmares than usual and had to fight and literally slap myself in the face to wake up. I seem to have been grinding my teeth as well, which I've never done before. I'm stressed, exhausted, and annoyed. Never again."

For Insomnia "My dr gave me some samples of this to try and sleep better. I had mirtazapine but didn't like it. I would be a zombie the entire next day, and I have a prescription for clonazepam but don’t want to get addicted, so I’d take it maybe 1-3x per month to help sleep, and I would always have the best quality sleep ever. So my doc gave me Dayvigo to try, and I’ve taken it 5x total, and I must say I love it. I seem to sleep very, very well and get up to use the washroom maybe 1-2x, and when I wake up to go, I’m like a zombie and instantly back to sleep, and the next day I feel great, no issues. The vivid nightmares/dreams I actually enjoy, to be honest, so no complaints there. I actually look forward to the wild, crazy dreams I experience on this medication. Now that the samples are gone, I just asked my pharmacist to fill a one-month supply."

For Insomnia "I've had insomnia for 20+ years. Root cause: childhood maltreatment (biological mechanism = stress). I managed it with z-drugs for a long time, with things like pregabalin thrown in to deepen my sleep. But this approach was hit and miss - not really as reliable as I would have liked. Plus, I think that things that work on GABA disrupt sleep architecture and don't really give you good quality sleep. Recently tried the dual orexin receptor antagonist (DORA) Dayvigo (lemborexant). It works for me. I did have crazy dreams at first, and still dream quite a bit on it, but less than in the beginning. I am still playing with the dosage. The only problem for me with this drug is that if I take too much, I have next-day somnolence (I can feel the drug still working for 4 or 5 hours the next day). Anyway, I think DORAs have promise. I'm waiting for Quviviq (daridorexant) to be approved here in Canada because it has a shorter half-life. I care about you all. We all deserve to be happy."

For Insomnia "On a bright side, this medication reliably puts me to sleep. On a bad side, it gives me very fragmented and interrupted sleep. I sleep for 8-9 hours. But I have constant vivid dreams, wake up many times during the night (although go back to sleep quickly). I don't have any significant side effects the next morning, but don't feel rested at all."

For Insomnia "Works very well. No real side effects except a few vivid dreams. My only complaint is that it only lasts about 5 hours before I am wide awake again and can't get back to sleep. It would be great if they had an extended-release version that lasted 7-8 hours. One nice thing is there is no 'hangover' feeling. When you wake up, you are clearheaded and alert."

For Insomnia "Had been on Belsomra for several years. Employer switched insurance carrier. New carrier wouldn’t approve Belsomra. They did approve Dayvigo. It’s okay, but not nearly as effective as Belsomra. I have weird dreams on this one, that I never did before. I go to sleep quickly but wake up about 4-5 hours later. Wish I could get back on Belsomra."

For Insomnia "I would NEVER take this again! The first time I took it, I was sluggish, but I couldn’t sleep. I kept tossing, turning while my tachycardia condition got worse. I was struggling to catch my breath, and I was so anxious. I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin. When I finally went to sleep, I had extremely vivid nightmares. I felt trapped because I couldn’t wake up to end it. After I woke up, I felt more tired than I did before I took Dayvigo. I woke up feeling extremely agitated and anxious. It was like I didn’t even sleep at all. I wouldn’t recommend this medicine to anyone. If it worked for you, I’m glad it did, but it didn’t help me at all."

For Insomnia "I have been taking 6.25 mg Zolpidem for 6 years. I asked my doctor if there was something else to try that may be less habit forming. I tried it last night for the first time and will not take it again. I didn't sleep well. Seems like I saw every hour on the hour and had bad dreams when I did fall asleep. Been groggy and foggy all day. I'm done and going back to Zolpidem."

For Insomnia "I suffer from insomnia and do not remember the last time I had a full night's sleep. My Dr. prescribed me this for a couple of weeks to see how it worked. The first night was terrifying, major anxiety, weird dreams, and did not sleep well. Second night, arm and leg spasms, which woke me up and scared the living daylight out of me! Third night slept better, vivid dreams but nothing scary. I did wake up in the middle of the night twice but managed to sleep pretty quickly after. I have work today but have woken up feeling so exhausted. So, not really sure what to think about these pills..."

For Insomnia "I have insomnia post-COVID infection. Been on 12.5 mg Ambien and 0.5 mg clonazepam for 2 months and started to build tolerance. My doctor suggested Dayvigo, saying no side effects and will not build tolerance. I was given hope. Yet, I read so many bad reviews and was reluctant to take it. I asked my husband to help monitor my sleep yesterday and took 0.5 mg of Dayvigo around 11 pm. Felt no effect and couldn't sleep until 1 to 2 am. I started to feel sleep paralysis and there were vivid dreams when I was trying to wake my husband up, and I heard a baby crying where there's no baby in the house. I knew it was a dream, so I composed myself and was finally able to move. I also had sharp joint pain in my left leg throughout the night. My GI issue also flared up, not sure if it's the effect of the med. It gave me zero restful sleep, worse than Ambien, which gave me 4 to 5 hours. This med is not for me, sadly, and I will not recommend it to anybody. Hope a better alternative works better."

For Insomnia "I have been taking Dayvigo 10 mg for one month now, and the only side effect is very vivid and bold dreaming. I wake up to go pee 1-2 times, but I am able to fall back asleep very easily. I have worked nights as a nurse for 15 years, and this medication works the best out of any I have tried. I am able to wake up easily with no grogginess throughout my shifts. I was able to get a sample packet from my primary care provider that had a 12-month savings card, medication is only costing me $30 a month for the next 12 months. My insurance would not cover any of the costs. When my 12 months are up, not sure if I will be able to continue or afford this medication, as the cost out of pocket will be $322 a month :( I sleep well on Dayvigo, but I’m not willing to shell out $322 a month for it."
