For High Cholesterol "I started Repatha in May of 2021, it lowered my cholesterol quickly to 214 within a few months. I was happy with that result, but I knew something was really happening with my health. I told my husband something had changed in the last 6 months with my health. I didn't think about Repatha, I was told by my cardiologist and pharmacist there were no side effects from Repatha. I kept using it, and by January 2022, my mouth was totally covered inside with blisters and sores, I could barely walk, I was severely depressed, had severe headaches, and hip pain. I stopped taking it and tried it again 3 months ago to see if the symptoms were caused by something else! I kept thinking the doctor and pharmacist said no side effects. I am sitting here with a mouth full of blisters and sores, so weak I can hardly do anything, can't go for my daily walks, which I loved. I survived cancer twice, chemo and radiation were bad, but nothing like Repatha. I hope I can recover and have some quality of life left."

For High Cholesterol "I've been on many statins, and after taking them for 3 months, I experienced muscle and joint pain. I discontinued it as it got to the point where I couldn't function properly. I'm on Repatha now, my cholesterol levels are great, but after 3 months again, I can barely lift my left arm, and my elbow pain is tremendous. I thought I had injured it. I'm going for an x-ray on my shoulder next week. But I think it definitely is Repatha. We will see."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "After my 6th dosage of Repatha, I would rather die. I have four stents along with torn tendons and connective tissue disease that can't be explained. Frequent urination and problems. Neck, leg, and back pain do not allow me to sleep. Severe headaches, but the newest side effects are very scary to me...stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting for days after the injection, which I am sure will be my last. I am saddened after reading the reviews that this will last for quite some time. Only 55, feeling hopeless, and feeling like a 90-year-old every day is not the quality of life I was trying to accomplish. I hope there is help on its way. Thank you for the truths. I thought I was alone."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Homozygous "After taking Repatha for 17 months, I quit because of severe flu-like symptoms for days after each shot. I had another heart attack resulting in more stents, kept taking Repatha, my hip flexors were so painful, I had to hobble around for months after stopping the drug. I was told if I didn't take it, I would die, but no way can I tolerate Repatha or statins. I guess I am waiting for the next new drug."

For High Cholesterol "I am SHOCKED at the number of bad reviews, including advice to contact attorneys, etc. I was a study volunteer who participated in the clinical trials for Repatha in circa 2016-ish. Initially, I was to participate for one year. Near the end of that year, I was invited to continue participating in the longer-term phase 3 study. So I remained on the drug for TWO more years. During my 3 years, I had random interactions with other volunteers during office visits. In the course of three years, there is an opportunity to talk...despite symptom discussions being highly discouraged (possibly against policy). In that time, I encountered NO ONE who had an adverse reaction to this drug, including myself. That is why I am so shocked by the percentage of bad reviews. It's the opposite of what my personal experience and that of the other participants was during the trials. Statins gave me horrible cramps; Repatha maybe 10% of that amount & far less severe. Everybody is entitled to their opinion."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I received two stents in my left anterior descending artery (LAD) and felt great afterward. I did not have a heart attack, nor did I have a serious event. I caught the occluded artery before any issues. I had Repatha injections every 2 weeks as prescribed. I was a healthy, athletic 62-year-old man, and after the injections, I have been just about debilitated. I went to the emergency room several times and felt like I was dying. I have an inflamed gastrointestinal tract, inflamed joints, vertigo, SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), and many other issues. I stopped the injections after 6 months, and approximately 4 years later I'm just now feeling a little better. It has not been a good medication for me. Please be careful if you are prescribed this medication. I do not recommend it."

For High Cholesterol "I developed UTIs, bloody urine, high blood sugar, muscle contractions in my sides and back, and a general feeling of unwellness. Further, my urine stream was next to nothing. It was hard to go to the bathroom. I stopped taking this medication."

For High Cholesterol "This medication is so dangerous! Do not let anyone talk you into taking it! I have been incapacitated for 2 months so far. Without seeing relief! First injection, uneventful, I thought this is great! Second one, I had excruciating sinus infection and eye issues, did not relate it to the Repatha. Third injection, every blood vessel in my eye broke, eye pressure skyrocketed, vision loss, unbearable migraines, and chest pain! 5 doctors later and steroids, no relief. Missing months of work from being incapacitated! One more injection and I’m sure I would have died. This should not be used by anyone! My eyesight has been bad and not seeing signs of relief! I am planning on suing! Which is something I’ve never done before. I’m just praying I get better and don’t want to see one more person suffer the way I have."

For High Cholesterol "I'm into my 5th month on Repatha, and I have to say it is a miracle drug, and I'll tell you why based on my experience. I haven't experienced any side effects, but more importantly, from taking pre- and post-blood tests, it has shown to lower my total cholesterol in half, from 7.3 to 3.67 total cholesterol. It also slightly lowered my triglycerides as well. My diet is generally good, and I've tried just about everything else, including natural supplements and alternatives, and also statins such as Crestor and so on, and nothing has been as effective. Thank you, Repatha!"

For High Cholesterol "Was granted the every 2-week self-injection option. Started 10/24, developed flu-like symptoms, aches, pain, chills. Then, 1 month in, cognitive problems, a rash on my face, and bruises at the injection site. Continued taking, had an appointment with my endocrinologist and found my cholesterol was good, but my A1c was up in the 9s. Lasted one more injection, felt worse, called the doctor, and stopped taking Repatha. Now in June 25, I'm still trying to get rid of the rash and get my blood sugar back to normal levels. Have chronic pain in my back and hip. So not worth doing for me."

For High Cholesterol "I started Repatha because I can't take any kind of statins. I am 21 years old and hard workout 5 times a week (gym). With statins, CPK in blood tests was going 800+, and its limits are 175. After the first injection, I was doing workouts like before, but after 5 days, I couldn't even move much pain (CPK was normal). I had to lower the time I was going to the gym. I talked with my doctor, and he told me to do 1 injection each month and not 2. I hoped that my body would get used to it and I would be better. Well, that's not possible. Before, I had so much energy I could sleep like 4-6 hours per day, now, if I sleep 8+ hours, I am still feeling tired. I feel my legs really weak, and I have pain in my muscles (that will stop if I sit on a couch all day). It's awful, you won't have any energy, and you will have muscle pain. It's my only choice because I can't take any statin (260 LDL) with Repatha 150, but no thanks, I have a life to live. If you start it, forget the life you had before. Sorry for saying this, but it's true."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Homozygous "I've been on every statin including Zetia. The statins did not lower my high cholesterol, which was combined in the 300s, and the Zetia helped but made me very dizzy, so my cardio suggested Repatha. I had no issues the first year except sinus issues. But then came the high blood sugar - (I'm 5’4, 113 and an over-exerciser). But the big one, which has now destroyed my life, is the low back pain. This isn't the normal arthritic pain, this occurs 3-5 days after the injection, and literally, I can't walk, sit, get out of bed, go to the bathroom, walk my dog, or drive. Nothing helps to relieve it because it isn't related to an injury or inflammation. That is why I take the drug once a month instead of as prescribed. I know I will be incapacitated. My cardio tells me it is all in my head because his wife is on it and she has no side effects. Yes, it has brought my cholesterol down to 250. But I don't know how much of this pain I can endure."

For High Cholesterol "Injected 1st Repatha on a Tuesday, woke up vomiting and spiked high fever on Wednesday. Woke up Thursday with a horrible sore throat that progressively got worse as the day went on. Went to the doctor on Friday to see if it was strep throat, it was negative. It hurt so bad where my thyroid gland is located and I have sharp pain in my right jaw, weirdly, it didn’t hurt to eat. Saturday, I experienced body aches and fatigue. I had issues lying flat on my back due to swelling in my throat, it was hard to breathe. Sunday, I had horrible stabbing stomach pains followed by significant diarrhea. Tuesday, I woke up with swelling on the left side of my face, went to urgent care. Came back with subacute thyroiditis and Bell's palsy. Alerted Amgen, FDA, and my cardiologist of side effects caused by Repatha. I won't ever take it again, not worth all the side effects and sick days at work. The crazy thing is everyone acts like it's the first time they have ever heard of side effects with Repatha."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "Before starting taking Repatha, THINK, THINK, and THINK again! The cardiologist and all the nurses I've seen made out that Repatha is a godsend and has no side effects whatsoever! If I knew then what I know now, I would have never touched this POISON with a barge pole!! A couple of hours after administering the first injection, I felt nauseous, my stomach was on fire, and I had a really bad migraine! The next day, I started vomiting, had a high temperature, and a very sore throat. The third day, my mouth started to smell really bad! My gums and tongue became very painful, it's like I was rotting away from the inside. It has been a month now since I took my first and last injection, and I'm still suffering from the debilitating side effects. I'm recovering, but very, VERY slowly. Don't make the same mistake that I did! Don't let anyone persuade you into taking this so-called medication! You will really come to regret your decision. Research the drug and ask the people who took it before you make a decision!"

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "The cardiologist said it’s a great drug with little side effects. I had back pain and minor sore throat after the 1st Repatha injection. 24 hrs. after the 2nd, I was in the ER. My mouth, tongue, lips, and gums were starting to blister and burn with my throat and esophagus on fire. I was short of breath and having palpitations. I had lots of tests and labs. I received IV Solumedrol and respiratory treatments. I was sent home on 15 days of high dose Prednisone. I’m in the tapering period of the Prednisone and still feeling bad. Severe sore throat, weakness, and palpitations. The cardiologist did labs for electrolytes because I’m having symptoms of low potassium. I was told by the specialty pharmacist that dispensed Repatha the adverse effects could last for months because it could be in my system for a while. I regret taking this drug. I had reservations about it after researching it and reading the patient reviews. Lesson learned. Follow your gut feelings."

For High Cholesterol "I started taking this medication in February 2019. The first shot was not a problem. I actually felt better, but that quickly dissipated. Yes, it lowered my cholesterol dramatically, but I started feeling flu-like symptoms with aches and pains. After two months on this medication, I felt like I was hungover all the time. I also felt that my memory has been declining, I’m always in a fog. The worst feeling is that I’m only 48 years old and I feel like I’m 100. I’m tired all the time, my legs feel like lead weights, and all of my normal aches and pains are intensified. I wish my doctor would have told me about potential side effects because I never would’ve started this medication. Maybe that is why they didn't?"

For High Cholesterol "I've always had high cholesterol, it runs in my family. I never could take statins, always had bad side effects. My doctor assured me that there were no side effects from Repatha. I was very reluctant to take it, but she told me if I didn't take it, I was going to have a heart attack and die. The side effects were so bad, the quality of my life went down. I was fatigued when I woke up, and I was fatigued when I went to bed. I missed a lot of work, couldn't hardly breathe, it was horrible. I will not take this drug again. I cannot believe the doctors will tell you that there are no side effects. Are we their guinea pigs? I'm so upset with my cardiologists, now I need to find a new one. How dare she lie to me."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I was on Repatha for one month and saw my lab numbers dramatically improve until I developed severe leg pain, similar to that which I had while taking statins. After I stopped, my total cholesterol and LDL shot up higher than before I started. They have remained high after 6 months. I'm thin, eat mostly vegetarian and exercise every day. Has anyone quit and seen their numbers remain high this long?"

For High Cholesterol "Too soon to tell if Repatha littered my levels. But after taking it for one month, I noticed more stiffness and joint aches in my already arthritic small-frame body. Also, having rhinitis, I’m having more cold-like issues. I don’t like that my joints are worse, but I’m trying to figure out what to do or take to help relieve this pain. Already taking pain medication, maybe a steroid would help. We shall see. I will update."

For High Cholesterol "High cholesterol runs in my immediate family. I was next to the oldest of six children. To date we have lost 3 of them. Two definitely had high cholesterol. My two sisters died of it, and the 3rd sibling drowned in a kayak accident. My mom died of a heart condition, and my dad lived on until 95. My maternal grandfather died of heart issues, my grandmother from lung disease. My cholesterol was over 300, and so was the lip something. There wasn't much I could tolerate, so I was hopeless until my doctor prescribed Repatha. The only problem I am having after about 3 years on it is the injection itself. Sometimes it does not work. In fact, I collected 4 injections that I am returning because they do not work. I waited half an hour after taking them out of the refrigerator. In any case, my cholesterol dropped well below 200, maybe 140, and so did my triple, etc. reading. My younger sister is now on it."

For High Cholesterol "Went on Repatha for 5 months. What a huge mistake, as reading all your reviews has shown me this is a horrible, poisoning drug. Calling an attorney. My whole life has changed from October 2019 until present. Thank you all and hope we all get over this soon."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Homozygous "Right now, and for over 2 months, my quality of life has diminished. Fever, extreme nasopharyngeal,... see 4 specialists from allergy, PUDs, ENT, and Gastroscope! CT scans, blood tests, extreme fatigue, chills, fever over 101, constant visits to IM. He is baffled. Repatha drug is pure poison, should be black boxed. My life is now awful. Flu-like symptoms for 2 months, extreme cough, laryngitis, neck pain, diarrhea blowouts. Horrible. Do not use this. The symptoms started slowly... after 3 months I was in a debilitating condition from Repatha."

For High Cholesterol "After nearly 4 years, slowly realized I had numerous issues that developed, including horrible 'come and go' aches and pains, constant stomach upset, and finally frequent severe pain in the upper right abdomen that led me to the hospital. Cause was undetermined after many doctors and tests. So I stopped Repatha on my own and found every day after I stopped better than the day before. After nearly a year, I was finally back to myself."

For High Cholesterol "I took just one shot of Repatha on the advice of my cardiologist on 31st August, after statins intolerance which caused muscular myalgia. Now, even after 5 months, I am suffering from musculoskeletal disorders, gastric issues, insomnia, and constipation. I mentioned the side effects and I have them. My cardiologist quietly avoided it after showing this page. Any solutions, please advise. I am 52 years old with 4 stents and cannot manage the piercing stabbing back pain."

For High Cholesterol "Had 6 doses over 5 months. Each dose made me feel worse than the previous one. Could not tolerate more than one dose per month. Two jabs in one month resulted in 3 days off work. Dizziness, nausea, extreme tiredness, stomach cramps, muscle cramps - especially at night, flu-like symptoms, lack of sleep due to blocked nose. The only plus was that cholesterol levels dropped after the second dose. Depletion of vitamin D, lowest ever B12 - unable to work for 3 days each fortnight. Would not recommend to anyone. However, when the side effects became too severe to cope with and I gave up, I still had to endure muscle pain and general illness."
