For High Cholesterol "I am on my 9th injection of Repatha. I had no side effects until my 9th injection. My cholesterol levels dropped dramatically, which was great news. However, on the day after my 9th injection, I was out shopping and had a back spasm, and had to call for a ride home. The pain has increased to my hips. I am in consultation with my doctor (via email) to stop taking this medication. Reading the reviews made me realize, yes, I need to stop. I just paid $435.00 for this medication."

For High Cholesterol "I injected this drug on August 10, 2018. The next morning, I felt like I had the flu with my hands and face swollen. Then 4 days later, horrific diarrhea. After that, horrific mucus from coughing and horrific back pain. Now I have problems with my stomach - I can't eat, drink, or burp, it feels like my stomach is dying along with my colon - horrific swelling in my stomach. I have been rushed to the hospital twice due to an allergic reaction to Repatha, it has also given me an autoimmune disease. This drug is dangerous. I feel like my organs are dying. My doctor is trying different meds to reverse the side effects, but nothing is working. Please be careful, I wish I had researched this drug before taking it. Now I'm bedridden, and it's September 9, 2018, and I am still experiencing side effects."

For High Cholesterol "Repatha worked great to lower my cholesterol and seemed fine for a year. After 1 yr, I started experiencing severe neurapathy starting in one foot then spread to the other foot, up both legs, and then to my hands. An EMG found large fiber nerve damage from ankle to knee. I also experienced severe sciatica at the same time as neurapathy and tried to convince doctors it was related, but they would not consider it and treated them separately. I also experienced blood in urine, and the ER kept saying I had a UTI, but a CT scan of the urinary tract found nothing. I do not have diabetes. I'm a 60+ female and have found other very similar cases online from women of a similar age. I stopped taking it almost 2 months ago, but it takes about 3 months to get out of your system. Sciatica is better with cortisone shots, but I've not seen any improvement in neurapathy yet."

For High Cholesterol "The person with bladder cancer you are correct, it’s the Repatha. My lung cancer tumor grew fast also and has spread to other parts of my body. It’s stage 4. I too had 2 chest X-rays before I went on Repatha and was fine, drove my bike to work every day. I was healthy, but my quality of life went downhill. This is a lawsuit ready to happen. It needs to be removed from the market."

For High Cholesterol "I have been suffering since stopping Repatha after 8 injections. Legs have gone weak and painful to walk. I was okay before I started, but now it’s a challenge to get around. I hate that I even tried it. This is a lawsuit drug - just stay away!"

For High Cholesterol "Don't let anyone tell you to hold off on Repatha injections and then 'try again!' Also, do NOT let your doctor convince you there aren't side effects. This is a dangerous drug if you have pre-existing comorbidities. I have RA (rheumatoid arthritis), need 5 surgeries for vascular blockages in my torso and legs, and 4 coronary stents are placed. My RA symptoms of joint pain have worsened with the Repatha, but my biggest negative on this drug is increased blood pressure and chest pain. It's very dangerous when I'm already a heart patient! Think carefully about what your medical issues are and whether you want to risk them worsening. New problems for me are dizziness, sudden gut pain, anxiety, visual disturbances, nausea, and leg weakness. Yes, my cholesterol went from 300 to normal, but even taking an injection every 3 months has incapacitated me and exacerbated my medical issues!"

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "Helped to lower LDL substantially with minimal side effects up to 5 years. After the fifth year, signs of systemic inflammation created multi-organ problems, and therefore the drug was discontinued with improvement of symptoms, but existing damage could not be reversed."

For High Cholesterol "Numbers are great from this medication. Dropped cholesterol 100 points, LDL to 70. That's great for this 59-year-old female who has always had high cholesterol. However, those numbers are not worth the side effects. Have tremendous burning from neck to abdomen. Muscle pains in legs and severe back pain, especially lower and between my shoulder blades. Have taken 5 injections and discussed the side effects with Dr., and he reduced the injections to once a month. Last had the injection on April 1st. As we speak, April 30th, am fighting extreme side effects. With the burning in my chest, I'm not sure if I'm having a heart attack or not. Have suffered 3 attacks like this that last all night since my last injection. THERE IS NO WAY I'M TAKING ANOTHER INJECTION. I am just praying that these symptoms stop and do not continue long term like others have stated on this site. Stay away from this drug! Please! There may be no recovery from it."

For High Cholesterol "Having taken statins since 1993 for high cholesterol, I became allergic and began Repatha injections a year ago. My hair started falling out, so I had blood work to rule out thyroid trouble. Ruled that out. My numbers are down, but my hair loss continues. I have a feeling it is Repatha causing it. I came on here to see if anyone else was having this problem. It being such a new drug, I feel like a guinea pig. I am scared to stop the drug, but my cholesterol will go sky high again. I am at a loss as to where to turn for answers."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "Repatha has been a game changer and probably a lifesaver. I could not take most drugs, statins, that are prescribed for high cholesterol. My lipid doctor said that even if I only ate grass and drank water, I would still have high cholesterol. Several years ago, I had a stroke that thankfully had no lasting ill effects, but it was a signal that something had to be changed in my treatment. I found a doctor that specialized in treating familial high cholesterol, and he prescribed Repatha. It has lowered my overall numbers, and especially my LDL number. The one negative issue I have had was getting my health insurance to cover it. Additionally, when I went on Medicare, the cost increased greatly."

For High Cholesterol "I had to pay over and above my insurance to get this drug just so I could end up having more problems than I've ever had from a prescription. I had the one and only injection on Nov. 3rd, 2019. On the 4th of Nov during the night, I woke up with the room spinning so bad that I couldn't move. I was told by my cardiologist to call 911, which I did. When they got there, they tried to help me up but couldn't, so they told me I would have to wait it out. After two and a half weeks on prednisone, I started feeling better. Now I'm getting vertigo off and on. For instance, today I was supposed to go golfing, but from the time I got up this morning, I've been so dizzy that I have to cancel. I never had this problem in my whole life until this injection. I can't believe that my doctor even prescribed this poison to me! I just hope that eventually this goes away. I wouldn't recommend anyone even trying this medication."

For High Cholesterol "Repatha is great for lowering your cholesterol really fast, but the side effects are terrible. My back, hips, and knees are hurting me 24/7. I have been to the doctor many times, and he has given me many different pain meds. Nothing really helps. I can hardly walk across the floor. Working all day is killing me. I just want to cry because of the pain. I have been off Repatha for almost 3 months, and the pain still has not gone away. I just want to be normal again. I will never take it again."

For High Cholesterol "Excellent. Over a 30-year period, I had taken all the statin drugs, etc.... all to no avail. My total cholesterol had been well over 230 for over 30 years, and my PCP said I was a prime person to start taking Repatha. The first 6 months of taking the drug, my total cholesterol level went from an average of 234 to exactly 100!!!!! I have two arterial blockages, so this new drug has been a godsend. I will be 86 this year and have absolutely no negative reaction to the drug, and even though I have to budget my monthly monies, I don't ever imagine stopping taking Repatha. I use the SureClick and love it. 1-17-2025...."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Please beware of this medication. I started Repatha, then I had pain in all joints, atrial fib. I was at a point where I felt I was going to die. I had used about four injections. I cannot remember anytime in my life so bad. It took about four months to return to normal. Stupidly, I then tried a 50% reduction of dose with the same family of drug. After one injection, I began to have difficulty swallowing, and then the flu and arthralgia started. I began to suffer atrial fib on and off again. I had been stable for years before Repatha. I didn't take a second injection, I am now about four months down the line and just about recovering back to normal. In my case, simply this medication had horrific side effects. Repatha must be aware of these reactions in some patients. Only a matter of time before something terrible happens to someone, although they will have all the nomenclature to head that off at the pass. Be careful and safe. Good luck, James."

For High Cholesterol "Please, everyone, I have been reading all your comments. You need to call the FDA and report what is happening. I can’t make it any clearer how important this is. This drug is so bad for patients, especially causing cancer. It’s not a coincidence. It’s a horrible drug."

For High Cholesterol "I have inherited familial high cholesterol. At age 36, I had quintuple bypass surgery. At age 46, 56, 63, and 65, I had stents due to blockages. I've been taking statins for 30 years despite severe muscle pain, currently Crestor, and started Repatha injections every two weeks shortly after it became available. I attribute the shortness of breath I have been experiencing to Repatha, and my symptoms have grown increasingly worse during this period of time, including weakness and trouble breathing. I have allergies and asthma, which I thought was the source of my trouble breathing, however, my breathing problems have significantly worsened since taking Repatha and are a debilitating side effect. Cholesterol has dropped significantly."

For High Cholesterol "I was on Praluent for a year with no side effects. My cholesterol was great. Insurance wanted me to switch to Repatha. After the 2nd injection, I noticed constant stomach pain, persistent diarrhea, and I have vivid dreams all night, making me wake up exhausted. I called my doctor to switch back to Praluent because I cannot handle the side effects."

For High Cholesterol "I have taken four injections, and I will not take any more. I have congestion that I have never experienced before. I have completely lost my sense of smell and taste (not from COVID), my test was negative. This is now in my fifth week. My coughing is so bad I think I am not going to make it. I have a runny nose, earaches, and sore shoulders. I have one suggestion: don’t take Repatha."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "It has been a year and a half since I stopped the Repatha injections after taking them for 6 months. I was extremely active and athletic till Repatha. This drug has made me weak, sick, inflamed, and unable to stay active as before. Even after a year and a half, I continue to suffer from side effects. This medicine is like a poison."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I have several in my family with high cholesterol... 503 high, so hereditary. I went on Repatha in Oct. 2018. My numbers steadily went down to 235 with mild side effects; some joint pain every now and then. This all changed with my July 2019 injection. I experienced sudden severe hip pain that went all the way down one leg. I could not walk even to the next room. I have had sciatica before, and this was a lot like that, except that it lasted for a day and a half and went away. I wrote this sudden pain off as maybe it was sciatica until my next injection, and the same thing happened, but less severe. I immediately went off of Repatha. I'm still experiencing more symptoms, like muscle weakness and throbbing pain in my arm and hand joints. My feet ache often now as well. I had tried several statins as well, and those also resulted in several side effects that were not tolerable."

For High Cholesterol "I was a very active, healthy 61-year-old, athletic male who had to have a heart stent because of family history. No heart attack or anything. My doc put me on Repatha to lower cholesterol. After injections of six months, numerous ER visits, and every health test possible, the side effects have diminished my quality of life. It has been over a year and a half since stopping the injections, and I am still suffering from bouts of feeling very ill. DO NOT TAKE THIS stuff."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been on Repatha since January. My average glucose was 116-120 before that. In March, my glucose was 200. In June, it was 400. I am wondering if Repatha causes increased blood glucose levels. I am now on daily insulin and cannot keep it below 150. The swings are over 150. I have an appointment with a cardiologist to switch back to a statin. By the way, my LDL did drop to 3. That is not a misprint. I just hope I can resume normal glucose levels again."

For High Cholesterol "I’m a 64-year-old female with hypercholesterolemia. Nothing worked to lower my cholesterol, so my doctor highly recommended Repatha. Right away, I noticed blisters in my mouth, nose, butt, etc. I was rushed to the emergency room at 3 a.m. because I couldn’t breathe from blisters on my throat and nose. Repatha causes shingles. It has been 8 months, and the left side of my face is still tingling because the left side of your face has nerves, and Repatha affected all the nerves. I can’t chew on the left side of my mouth, and my smile is drooping. This drug is horrible, and it’s just another money-making way for doctors to lie to us. I stopped going to doctors now. I go to holistic doctors. They are definitely more experienced in good health and care more about their patients. I’m thinking of suing Repatha because I’m still suffering."

For High Cholesterol "I was prescribed Repatha after having side effects from statins. I was totally off statins when I started. For the first injection, I had some mild cold/flu symptoms for just a couple of days, very mild. I had my second injection on a Thursday, and by Tuesday the next week, I had cold and flu-like symptoms, neck and back pain, and was in bed for three weeks. At first, I didn't even connect it to being side effects of Repatha, but then I remembered when they briefed me, the PA saying cold and flu-like symptoms. So, I started doing some research, and I had every side effect listed with the exception of high blood pressure. It is now almost 3 months since my last injection. My migraine, which in the past had basically gone, has recurred. I also have sinus pressure, neck ache, and lower back ache, aching hands feeling arthritic, urgency to urinate, and extreme fatigue. My internist said it could take about six months to get out of my body. I pray she's right. This is life-altering in a negative way for me. Incredibly frustrated."

For High Cholesterol "I have been taking 140 mg Repatha every 2 weeks for 8 months. Cholesterol came down significantly, but my feet hurt terribly and my legs hurt terribly. I am 69 and have had a quad bypass 5 years ago and a minor stroke. I have gained 8 pounds. I used to outwalk everybody, now my pain in my feet and legs is so bad that I use a heating pad every night just so the pain will feel better. I also believe it has made me short of breath. So it is good for lowering cholesterol but has terrible side effects. I am going to stop taking it and see in 3 months how much my cholesterol goes up. Glucose blood sugars fasting were 90-102 in the mornings, now blood sugars fasting can be 120-130. Good luck to all who can tolerate it, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life with this leg and feet pain."
