For Birth Control "I switched to Blisovi after taking the same pill for 8 years. The first few months were fine, but around 4 months in, I began experiencing mental health issues. I was anxious and nauseated 24/7, and would also get randomly depressed for no reason. I cried all the time and wanted to crawl out of my skin. I’ve dealt with some anxiety before, but nothing like this. Would not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill from age 16-19. I just stopped taking the pill 3 weeks ago. I suddenly developed extreme anxiety, diagnosed just 4 months after beginning this pill. Periods were only about 3 days, but my period after quitting was about the same flow, light-medium, just a couple of days longer. This pill only helped me by preventing pregnancy, and it helped my face stay clear. But ever since quitting, I feel like myself again! I much prefer a clear mind to a clear face."

"I suffer from heavy bleeding that has required multiple iron infusions for anemia. My doctor suggested a birth control pill to help. I was prescribed LoLoestrin, which was good at first, I had clear skin and two-day periods. However, after a while, I started having breakthrough bleeding, felt angry, and had a heavy clot. I was switched to Blisovi Fe 1/20, which I found worse. From the first dose, I had a 12-day period. After two weeks my mood changed, I was crying all the time and had panic attacks and severe anxiety. It has left me feeling depressed and has affected my sex drive. I will be stopping this medication."

For Birth Control "One of the worst! My sex drive has been so low since taking these pills. On top of feeling depressed and massive anxiety. Worst side effects ever! And I’ve been on 10 different kinds to stop my mid-cycle periods... this one topped it!"

For Birth Control "I have been on a few different birth controls in the past. I started this specific brand of birth control a little over a month ago. I have not seen any negative side effects other than being emotional, however, I will add I lost my son in October, so it’s hard for me to tell whether or not it’s because I’m still grieving, the birth control, or a mixture of both. Overall, I’m happy with this brand of birth control because I’ve always gotten extremely nauseated or just plain crazy and anxious on different types."

For Birth Control "I do not recommend this birth control. I was previously on Microgestin for years with no issues. Since switching to Blisovi due to a change of insurance, I have experienced irregular periods, constant spotting, cramping, bloating, and increased anxiety. I currently have no sex drive with this constant spotting and cramping. I no longer have insurance, otherwise, I would have immediately requested to be changed to another birth control. I have taken this BC regularly for two months, hoping this was just an adjustment, but I can no longer deal with these symptoms."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for almost a year now. I originally was prescribed micro estrogen, and for the time I used it, I had no problems. After a while, my insurance company forced me to get my prescription mailed. Once I did, they put me on Blisovi. The first couple of months were fine, although I got acne and gained 10 pounds. As of recent, this pill has triggered my anxiety. I can hardly sleep. My bowel movements are even off. When I read reviews, it finally clicked that it was my birth control. I would never recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "It’s been a little over a month for me. I wanted to give it more time, but I have been extremely emotional. I feel like crying all the time for no reason, and I am overly sensitive. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and I was hoping it would have helped. I’ve also gained nearly 10 pounds in the month I’ve been on it (I’m 22 and run about 3 miles a day). I’ve had headaches every day, and I was super nauseous when I first started the pill (it went away after a week). I wish I could give this pill more time, but I’m feeling like things are getting worse than better. I went on the pill to help with my extremely bad PMS-ing (sadness), but I feel sad all the time now."

For Birth Control "I'm about to start my third month on this pill, and so far, it's been pretty rocky. Since I've started this pill, my anxiety has been everywhere. I've had terrible migraines and stomach aches every time I've taken this pill - they'd usually kick in about an hour or two after I took it. Also, my period didn't arrive in the second month, which freaked me out a little, but that's normal. The only reason I'm on this BC is to get an IUD after this third month, and I'm ecstatic to not have this added anxiety. Truly will be a weight off my shoulders."

For Birth Control "I am another unfortunate soul who got switched (from Lo Loestrin) because of insurance. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, but the first month on it, my period came three weeks early, finally started to taper off the third week, and has just gotten stronger again as I hit the week of brown pills. My depression and anxiety have gotten way worse, and I’m suffering from near-constant body aches. Thankfully, I haven’t gained any weight, but I was already on a strict diet prior to starting. My gyno asked me to give it another month before she tells the insurance company that it didn’t work and I need to switch back (I take BC for PCOS), and I’m dreading every day of it. I don’t care what the insurance company thinks, this is NOT an equivalent to Lo Lo!"

For Birth Control "Have been on Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill for 2-3 years. I had ups and downs on it, but mostly downs. Had very bad anxiety, mood swings, and low sex drive/libido. Now, most recently, I have been experiencing bad dryness, making sex more unpleasurable. It worked at preventing pregnancy, though."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been on this BC for 1 month, and I can’t stand it. I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe because I had a prolonged period, and my doctor and I were concerned my body had changed and needed a different dosage of estrogen. Well, I bled for 7 straight days on this BC, and it was all heavy. My cramps were out of this world for 3 of the 7 days. And looking back, I have felt anxious and emotionally dull all month. I started taking BC because I have PMDD, and it helps regulate it, but this pill gives me all the symptoms I was having with PMDD, which makes it useless to me. I’d rather take my chances with Lo Loestrin than endure another month on this pill."

For Birth Control "I LOVE this birth control, but I also HATE it EXTREMELY. I've never had bad cramps with my period, and I have always had a light period. And once on this birth control, I only bled for two days out of my period. Keep in mind I've been on this birth control for twelve months. I loved it for the light period. BUT, I have incredibly crazy mood swings, ranging from crying to angry to confused to euphoric to confused and just lost. This birth control makes me tired when I sleep 8-10 hours a night. It's just given me a lack of energy, so, in a sense, depression and anxiety have all been heightened. It's ruined lots of relationships. I do not recommend it at all."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 4 months now. I haven't gotten my period for 2 months, and it has helped a lot with my cramps. But it has made me gain so much weight, I've gained around 12 pounds. I also have had terrible mood swings and anxiety. I'm really hoping the side effects get better, or I will be switching birth controls."

For Birth Control "This is absolutely the worst birth control for me. I was on Lo Loestrin for about 4 years before I was forced to switch to Blisovi because my insurance would only cover this one. I was told this was the generic version of Lo Loestrin and that it would essentially be the same, but it's definitely not. I've been on it for 2 months and so far I have gained weight (not a ton but a little), gotten acne whereas my skin was very clear while on Lo Loestrin, had an increase in appetite, have had really bad anxiety, have not been able to sleep, and I've gotten my period 2 times within 1 month. Also, when I get my period it's really long and really heavy. Overall, this birth control has made me want to stop using birth control in general. I do want to just say also that birth control definitely affects everyone differently, so if you have the option, give it a try, but listen to your body and switch off of it if you feel that it's negatively affecting your physical/mental state."

For Birth Control "I’ve recently been on this birth control for about 6 1/2 months. The first three months were, of course, bleeding, or as the doctors would call it, breakthrough bleeding. About a month ago, I started having anxiety attacks, I never experienced having those attacks before. This oncoming week, I’ve had three panic attacks. I looked up the reviews for this birth control and come to find out the birth control is what’s causing my anxiety attacks. My chest was tightened up, my throat felt like it was closing up, and my mind would be racing from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. I also am overly emotional about any and everything. Please, I beg you, do more research on birth control before you just take them! If you are taking this specific birth control, please stop, it only gets worse!"

For Birth Control "I have PCOS and struggled with prolonged and heavy periods my entire life. I've taken this in the past but never consistently. Missed one day here and there, sometimes took it in the morning and night, which made my cycle go out of whack. About a year later, I decided to get back on it with a stricter mindset. I took my pill at 8:30 pm every night. This time around, I noticed a difference! My period was a lot lighter with fewer days. I didn't gain weight or experience an acne problem. However, I noticed my mood has been unlike me, and I didn't correlate it to the pill until I started reading the reviews. The last 3 months, I have been extremely emotional and anxious and cried without any reason. Now knowing it's because of the pill, I can now pinpoint the problem and stop blaming myself. You got to weigh the good and bad. I would recommend this because, again, it did what I needed it to do the most - regulate my cycles."

For Birth Control "I was taking both Junel Fe and Microgestin Fe, depending on which pharmacy I was closest to, for over a year. I never had any problems with them. In fact, they made my skin clear and made my periods extremely light and less painful. When my insurance changed my pharmacy, I was given Blisovi Fe. Off the bat, I noticed changes I didn’t like. I was feeling anxious all the time for no apparent reason. My skin was breaking out. I began feeling really depressed and getting bad headaches. I also have nightmares almost every night now, which may or may not be caused by Blisovi. My placebo week period was heavy and painful. There have been no substantial changes in my lifestyle or product choices that would explain these changes. They all began when I started Blisovi. It’s the only explanation that makes sense, since I take no other meds and, as stated, have not undergone any lifestyle changes. I gave Blisovi a 2-month trial, and it didn’t work out. At least I didn’t get pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "The moment I started taking this pill, my experience was awful. I have now been on it for almost 4 months and would have extreme headaches, cramps, and very heavy and long periods. Now, I'm getting spells of terrible anxiety and depression, upper abdominal pain, nausea, and can barely keep my contacts on my eyes. I've never had these problems before and am now trying to detox this god-awful pill from my body. I never had this issue with other pills, but this is personally the worst."

For Birth Control "I read the reviews for this pill first before I started officially taking it. My pharmacy stopped carrying the brand I used to take, and I was curious about what people thought of this pill. I was nervous once I read the comments but remember everyone's body is different. I did not have any major weight gain, I instead lost weight. My acne did get worse, but that was also the side effect of the topical cream I use for it as well. The only negative to this pill was my anxiety. I have diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder and I do not take medication for it. I have found my own ways to cope without medication. However, I noticed while on this pill my anxiety worsened extremely. Everyone is different, do not let these reviews discourage you."

For Birth Control "I was originally prescribed this pill to help with fainting spells on my period, irregular periods, severe cramps, and the impression that I might have had endometriosis. Shortly after starting, about a month in, my mood severely changed. I would get anxious very easily over little things. Within the past month (I haven't even been taking this pill for 2 full months), I have experienced insane emotional breakdowns resulting from either overthinking situations or no trigger at all. Within the past 3 weeks, I have cried nearly every day. Although I have not experienced any pain from my period, it is virtually nonexistent. As for other side effects, this pill, despite popular belief, has NOT changed my skin."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this generic at the beginning of the year by my insurance. I was on Generess (chewable) with no problems whatsoever. This pill has made me gain weight. I have stubborn acne in odd places (face, chest, even down there!) that won't go away or pop. My anxiety is through the roof. At least it makes my periods light and pain-free."

For Birth Control "For the first couple weeks, I was experiencing nausea, muscle twitches, and dizziness. All of it went away after a while, but then came the anxiety. It’s even worse than usual. The medication is helpful with my cramps, but I don't know if the side effects are worth it."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 3 months now, and through all 3 months, my period has been very irregular. I switched from a higher dose to a lower dose to help with my mood. As soon as I started taking these pills, my period has been whack. The first month was about 2 weeks early (probably from the adjustment), but then it disappeared during the placebo week during the last 2 months. This is scary if you are active! I also experienced breakthrough bleeding, a brownish color, which also scared me a little. I feel like I’m still anxious on this pill, but that’s probably because I’m an anxious person in general. Although, I haven’t experienced any bad acne, weight gain, change in my appetite, etc. I just don’t like how it makes my period completely disappear and become irregular."

For Birth Control "Don't take Blisovi Fe 1/20, just don't do it, seriously, it's not worth it. I was on this for two days. Keep in mind, I have absolutely no prior history of depression or anxiety! I took this pill on Sunday night. I woke up Monday with the worst depression I've ever had, to the point where I thought I was going to do something harmful to myself. I took it again Monday night and woke up Tuesday in the greatest mood... and then it crashed bad. Today was my first day off of it, and I am a depressed and anxious mess. I hope that I return to normal. Don't take this. Seriously. I'm only 18 and I feel like I've completely hit rock bottom."
