For Birth Control "I was on Blisovi Fe for a little over 4 months. The first 2 months on this pill, I felt zero side effects except for light brown spotting around the week I would normally have my period and during the placebo week. Then, beginning the next 2 months, the side effects began to reveal themselves. I experienced a significantly decreased libido, no interest in my partner or sex, painful sex (during and sometimes after), mysterious pelvic pain, random nausea, mental fog, subdued emotions, an overall feeling of sadness that couldn’t be explained, and unbearable migraines on the second day of the placebo weeks, which left me immobile for the entire day. The only benefits were that it cleared up my acne and protected me against pregnancy. This pill was not for me, and I will be switching. For reference, I’m in my early 20s and weigh 132 lbs."

For Birth Control "Everyone's body is different, but for me, Blisovi's side effect was getting too much for me to handle. I think I should start with the pros because not everything was bad. PRO: I liked how it kept me on schedule. Period change from 6 days to 4 and lighter flow. And, of course, it kept me from getting pregnant. Cons: I couldn't keep control of my weight and gained 20 pounds really fast, no matter the exercise or healthy foods I was eating. I have a family history of diabetes, so I try to make sure my weight is manageable. At first, I correlated it to COVID and being stuck indoors, so I ended up doing more cardio outside almost every day, but for the life of me, I couldn't change my weight. Went from 130 to 150 pounds, and I'm 23 with a history of consistent weight before I took the pill. If I took a break for a couple of days, I'd gain all the weight back plus more. Lastly, my sex drive was nonexistent. I've been on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 for 8 months now and decided another birth control method is best for me."

For Birth Control "PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL, I'M BEGGING YOU!! I've been on it for a year now. I used to be this extremely happy girl 24/7 until I got on this pill. I got on it a couple of months after I got with my boyfriend. Before I was on it, my boyfriend and I had a good relationship, I was always laughing and etc. Well, I got on this pill, and all of a sudden, I was a different person. It took me this long to finally realize that it was the Blisovi, and I only did because a friend of mine mentioned it could be my birth control. So, I looked up reviews, and pretty much I was having what everyone else went through. I’m always depressed, I constantly yell at my boyfriend over the littlest things, I’m extremely emotional over the littlest things, anger got worse, anxiety is terrible, I have no sex drive anymore, I’ve only bled 4 out of 12 months while being on this pill. When I did bleed, it was blood clots or either brownish-reddish color, it wasn’t normal. PLEASE DON'T TAKE BLISOVI!!"

For Birth Control "Six months ago, I was switched from Glidess to this. After switching, I had absolutely no sex drive and was moody. Three months after I started this medication, I had gained 10 lbs (I work with a trainer and eat healthy) and started to become sick. I had horrible cramps, with constipation or diarrhea and nausea every day. I went to see a specialist and was advised to take tests to see what was wrong (really expensive)! I finally made the connection that it could possibly be my birth control, even though my pharmacist and doctor said there was 0 chance that was it. I stopped taking this pill, and days later, I was fine. No more cramping, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, and bloating. (I’m losing weight back to my “normal self.”) My sex drive is back to normal too. I wrote this so others who have the same issue can be warned. I thought I had celiac, a food allergy, or an intestinal issue, that’s how sick I was. This pill ruined my life for six months."

For Birth Control "My insurance switched me to this pill from Lo Loestrin Fe. I had migraines the first few weeks and horrible cramps. My doctor said to just stick with it. It's been a few months and the migraines and cramps are gone, but now I'm worried about my lack of libido. I'm only 25."

"My doctor recommended these Blisovi pills to regularize my period and stop menstrual pain. I must say that the experience has been terrible for me. First, I gained 30 pounds, I feel unhappy, I am in a bad mood all the time, my head hurts, I have no sexual desire, and the irregularity of my period continues. I asked my doctor to change this pill, but she insisted on continuing it for 3 months. Reviewed the comments of the other women, I wonder how it is possible that this pill is on the market. I wonder what agency protects patients from situations like these. How is it possible that no one is responsible in cases like this? Our bodies and mental health are at risk, and no one is responsible. I decided to stop the medication today. I would rather have irregular periods than put my body and mental health care on the line."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel FE 1/20 for three years and didn't have a problem. My insurance company decided to switch my generic up and give me Blisovi FE 1/20. I didn't think anything of it because it's the same drug. I've been on the Blisovi for 1.5 years and have had a terrible time, but just now realizing it's this medication. It's made with talc and aluminum. I'm having neuromuscular aches and pains, a sign of aluminum toxicity, have had zero sex drive, and had more anxiety and mood swings. I finally got my insurance to put me back on Junel FE 1/20 three months ago, and all my problems went away within the first month. Don't waste your time on Blisovi. Tell your doctor and insurance company to get you on a different generic with no talc and aluminum."

For Birth Control "I have been on several different forms of the pill for the last 5 years. I have been on this one for the past 6 months, and it is hands down the worst one to date. It gave me mood swings, no sex drive at all, horrible migraines, nausea, bloating, anxiety, and depression. I stopped taking it completely 2 weeks ago and have already noticed a huge difference. Yes, this pill is great at preventing pregnancy, but that's about it, and the side effects are not worth it. Please do not take this pill."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE BLISOVI!!! My pharmacy switched me over from Microgestin Fe to Blisovi Fe due to insurance reasons. I had no bad symptoms on Microgestin besides gaining a few pounds, which is fine because I am very thin. But anyway, since taking Blisovi, I have had horrible anxiety, am exhausted all the time even though I sleep enough, NO libido, blurry vision, always feel like I am in a fog, and horrible migraines. It did work effectively as a birth control, but that is mainly due to the fact that it caused me to have ZERO desire for sex. It was horrible. On top of the anxiety and constant state of EXHAUSTION. I’m telling you I felt like I never got any sleep when I was sleeping 8-10 hours a night. But luckily, my new insurance covers Microgestin, so I am switching back ASAP!!"

For Birth Control "I was put on the pill for heavy periods, which caused 5 iron infusions. First, I was on Lo Loestrin, which caused very clear skin and 2-day light periods and was great at first, however, after a few months, I had breakthrough bleeding and anger. The doctor had to make the dosage higher, so I switched to Blisovi, which is 100 times WORSE! The first week, I was crying every day, having panic attacks and at first had a 12-day period. The period eventually regulated and lightened, but I was told to push through another month to adjust with the emotions. I am still anxious, depressed, on edge, angry, mood swings, and no sex drive at all. I have no desire to look at a man. I am stopping this pill! The only pros to this pill were that I did not gain weight from it. I really hope I find a pill that works for me soon."

For Birth Control "HORRIBLE! Within a couple of days of taking this medication, I started feeling irritable, anxious, nervous, sad, just extremely overwhelmed with emotions. I had horrible headaches, pelvic pain, and chest pain, you name it! I had a low sex drive, which was very unusual, but also made me have bad vaginal dryness. I stopped taking it halfway into my second week, and right away I felt like myself again. This pill was really mucking me up in every way possible. My poor boyfriend must have hated me during this time, I nearly drove him crazy too, lol."

For Birth Control "At first, it made my sex drive non-existent... but after a while of taking it, I feel back to normal, if not better! Honestly, it has made me happier and more energized. The pharmacy tried to change me to another one today... no way. My sister also takes this one and loves it too. I recommend it to my friends looking to start a lower dose pill. Most reviews are negative, but remember, ladies, everybody is different, reactions are different. If it doesn't work for you, change it to one that will."

For Birth Control "I used to take Lo Loestrin Fe 1/20 for like 6 years, then saw a new gynecologist who likely wrote down my prescription wrong and I ended up getting Blisovi 1/20. I’ve been taking it for the last 10 months and have had a generally negative experience. Pros: seems to have cleared up moderate acne, especially on my chest. Cons: cramps and heavy period for the first few months. Extremely low to nonexistent sex drive. Gained about 12 lbs in the first two months with no lifestyle/diet change and now I can’t lose any weight, even after healthy eating at a caloric deficit and working out 5+ days a week for several months. Also have mood swings. Overall, this is just an okay birth control. I’m trying to change back to Lo Loestrin, but I’m worried about my acne coming back! The weight gain and low sex drive on Blisovi is a huge negative though."

For Birth Control "Birth control obviously affects every woman differently. But in my experience, it was not good. My sex drive decreased the moment I started taking this birth control. I started to gain weight, and I hated it. My diet didn’t change, neither did my exercise. So I was unsure as to why I had gained 20 pounds. But it all leads back to this birth control. As said, it will obviously affect everyone differently, but for this birth control, these effects seem to be the trend. Just be aware before you start taking it."

"Blisovi Fe has made me have a huge decrease in sex drive. This is probably the one and only disadvantage of this pill that was obvious. This has caused issues for my boyfriend and me since sex is very important in relationships. I am in the process of carefully trying new ways to boost my libido, which is already helping a bit. Despite this, the pill has changed my life. I started my period fairly young, and I would get the most horrible cramps. There were so many days when I had to get picked up because of how bad my cramps were. I could barely move, I would be super nauseous, extremely dizzy, bleed a lot, and it was overall so overwhelmingly painful. I managed to control it a bit as I got older, but once I started taking these pills, that pain went away! I stopped bleeding so much. I am now able to live a normal functional life when I get my period every month. This pill has also helped with the horrible acne that I had as well. My face is so clear now! I would rate this pill an 8/10."

For Birth Control "The pharmacy switched me to this pill because they didn’t have the other one at the time. The first month was fine, but then I started to have all sorts of side effects, which at first I didn’t associate with the pill: loss of sex drive, vaginal dryness, loss of hair, no periods at all, hot flashes, sleep issues. At first, I thought I was going to menopause at 37 years old! But I decided to stop. It has been a month, and the symptoms have all gone away. I was also having joint pain, which I didn’t think were related to this, and it has gone away too. If a pill can have all these side effects, it is definitely not worth the benefits. I would highly recommend using something else."

For Birth Control "I find this birth control good. You’re going to have side effects with every medication, you’re just going to have to get over it. I have been on this birth control for 4 or 5 years now, and I love it. After about a year or two, my periods have stopped completely. I do have low sex drive, but oh well, just another way the birth control works is how I think of it. It will take time for your body to adjust. I recommend if there are a few side effects in the beginning to just see if they stick around. It will take any birth control 6 months to a year to get used to your body. It’s free with my insurance."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control ever. My pharmacy randomly switched me to this 6 months ago after I had been on Microgestin for 2 1/2 years. Since being on Blisovi, I have gained 10 lbs, fainted twice, have horrible headaches and dizzy spells, nauseous constantly, no appetite, very sad, and get angry very easily. I also have barely any sex drive whatsoever. I barely have energy to want to do anything. I could sleep all day if I let myself. I've never felt so horrible in my entire life. After getting sick of gaining weight and fainting, I am finally stopping the pill. It is not worth it. BC is literal poison to the body. This brand just happens to be the worst one."

For Birth Control "I have had a shaky experience with this birth control. Positives: no weight gain, anxiety, depression, or pregnancy. Negatives: if I forget to take a pill, I will start to spot and start my period within 8-10 hours of forgetting, and my cycle will be messed up the rest of the month. I also have drastically noticed a decrease in my sex drive. Mood swings and hormonal acne are definitely still there before I start my period. I’ve given this pill 6 months, time to try something new!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 6-7 months now, and it does what it's supposed to do. The first month met me with severe, painful cramping for 48 hours straight with no relief, and I definitely had breakthrough bleeding in the first 2 months or so. After that, things have generally been smooth sailing, my period has been getting lighter and shorter in duration every cycle since then. No significant changes in mood or facial acne, though this cycle I have started getting acne on my back and butt, which I never have experienced before. Sex drive has decreased, and I haven't been able to get 'wet' since the first month or so. But I still have been having plenty of sex regardless and am not pregnant, so it's doing its job."

For Birth Control "Don’t take this. Please don’t get on this BC. For the first few months on it, I was fine, but after two years on it, all I can say is that I'm completely done. Mood swings, extreme anxiety (especially around when my period is supposed to start), depression, and so on. I could go on for hours about the horrible side effects of this BC. I have truly not felt like myself. Aside from the horrible mental effects, I have ZERO sex drive and random cramps and bleeding. Every time I am sexually active, I somehow convince myself that I am pregnant, which is really just from the anxiety this drug has given me. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!"

For Birth Control "My pharmacy gave me this one because they were out of stock of my usual birth control. Let me tell you, it gave me the worst side effects! Side effects I have never experienced before on birth control. I had weight gain, acne, was very moody/depressed, I hated to be touched in any way, and I also had a decrease in sex drive. It made me feel like I was turning into a different person. I recently talked to my gyno about it, and she told me to stop taking it and to continue my old prescription of birth control. Something does not seem right about this birth control. I would give it 0 stars if I could."

For Birth Control "I started taking this three months after my now one-year-old child was born. I started having uncontrollable rage at the drop of a hat. Every morning, I woke up with anger so bad that my chest would hurt. I picked fights with my partner and raised my tone with my daughter way more than I should have. My periods became unpredictable on this birth control as well. Every month around my period, my anxiety skyrocketed. Sore breasts and acne. No sex drive at all. It's day four off of this, and for the first time in months, I woke up feeling like myself and not a monster. -10/10 for me."

For Birth Control "I had a terrible experience with this drug. My libido was absolutely nonexistent on it and still has not returned a month after stopping. I started having panic attacks and depression symptoms on this pill, which I have never experienced as I am typically a very happy and calm person. Nausea for the first 2 weeks on it, but this went away with time, whereas the other symptoms only worsened with time."
