For Birth Control "I started taking Blisovi after my pharmacy switched me from Taytulla. I was only on it for a month and a half. Aside from the fact my skin was completely clear, the side effects were horrible for me. I gained some weight, and my mood swings were horrible. I've never in my life experienced severe anxiety until taking this pill. I genuinely thought I was going crazy. I never struggled with panic attacks until this pill. Every morning I woke up anxious. I also experienced really bad cramping and pelvic pain, and mild breast tenderness. I ended up convincing myself I was pregnant. I’ve been off of it for a week now, and I feel like my normal self. I’d be cautious on this one."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control 4 years ago, and my side effects got worse and worse every year I was on it. I’ve never suffered from anxiety, and it made me literally so miserable. Stressed every day to the point where I’d start to shake and get nervous over nothing. I never knew what was causing this. My cramps were also so bad: pelvic pain and mood swings. I’d cry for an entire day and then be fine the next. Muscle aches as well due to my anxiety getting so bad. I also would become incredibly nauseous a few days before my cycle, sometimes, I would even throw up. There were nights where I would constantly just sit in my bathroom from a panic attack. I also got aggravated incredibly easily. I got off of this pill. Please do not take this. Believe every side effect. It got worse and worse every day I took it, and I never thought it could be my pill making me this miserable. The only thing it did for me was prevent me from getting pregnant."

For Birth Control "Taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 as my first time birth control. 1. No weight gain, if anything, I've lost weight while on this, not saying it's due to the pill, but that's the only thing I've noticed about my weight. 2. No hair loss, my hair has been fine. 3. My face cleared up of little pimples I used to get throughout the month. 4. My periods are 3 days at the most and are light. 5. I've noticed an increase in my sex drive. 6. I've always been on the smaller side when it came to my boobs, they've gotten bigger since I started taking this pill. Nothing crazy, but enough to notice a difference. Downsides. 1. I'm bipolar, so this pill did mess with my anxiety/mood pretty bad the first two months, but once I got past the adjustment period, it's been good, occasionally, it can get to be a bit much, but nothing I can't deal with. 2. My cramps haven't changed, they're still just as painful. 3. During my period, my breasts get super tender to the point of being uncomfortable in my bra. Hope this helps. ✌"

For Birth Control "I just started this pill, and it is my first time starting birth control. I've just started my first pack and have had no negative experiences with it so far. My doctor told me it will take 3 months for my body to get used to the medication, and taking the pill at the same time every day has been slightly challenging for me, but I've shifted my time to be a little later and it seems to be working better for me. During my first month, I was spotting for the first week, had bright red, more period-like bleeding the next few days, but then I stopped spotting completely by week 3. After this, when I started taking the placebos, I started to spot again, although very little. I have been used to having very heavy periods with intense cramps for the first day, but those have seemed to subside after taking this pill. My skin is clearer, with no darkening spots, and my mood during my time of the month seems to be much more pleasant."

For Birth Control "Six months ago, I was switched from Glidess to this. After switching, I had absolutely no sex drive and was moody. Three months after I started this medication, I had gained 10 lbs (I work with a trainer and eat healthy) and started to become sick. I had horrible cramps, with constipation or diarrhea and nausea every day. I went to see a specialist and was advised to take tests to see what was wrong (really expensive)! I finally made the connection that it could possibly be my birth control, even though my pharmacist and doctor said there was 0 chance that was it. I stopped taking this pill, and days later, I was fine. No more cramping, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, and bloating. (I’m losing weight back to my “normal self.”) My sex drive is back to normal too. I wrote this so others who have the same issue can be warned. I thought I had celiac, a food allergy, or an intestinal issue, that’s how sick I was. This pill ruined my life for six months."

For Birth Control "My insurance switched me to this pill from Lo Loestrin Fe. I had migraines the first few weeks and horrible cramps. My doctor said to just stick with it. It's been a few months and the migraines and cramps are gone, but now I'm worried about my lack of libido. I'm only 25."

For Birth Control "At first, it wasn’t too bad, but by the second month, I could immediately notice the side effects. I suffered a lot with anxiety and depression when I was going through puberty and had long since outgrown it, but by the second month on this pill, I literally felt like I was back in middle school. I’m a nervous wreck and sad at the same time all the time, and it only gets worse the closer I get to my periods. What doesn’t help is that my periods are still fairly painful and last me almost the entire placebo week. I decided today that I’m not taking this pill anymore and am scheduling an appointment with my doctor to talk about starting a new one. Unless you are using it strictly as birth control, I wouldn’t recommend this pill, even women with the strongest mental health seem to struggle emotionally while on this pill, and it just isn’t worth it in my opinion."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on BC, and before this pill, I had intolerable cramping at all times of the month, in addition to very heavy bleeding when I was on my period. My periods controlled my life and made it so I couldn't function half the time due to cramps, nausea, and fatigue. Now, on this pill, my periods are so much lighter and less painful. Even on my worst days, I can still function, as opposed to being bedridden 5-8 days a month like I was before. Don't let the bad reviews intimidate you, birth control has a different effect on everybody! Blisovi worked very well for me!"

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL! Believe every negative side effect. Paranoia, extreme anger, acne, severe cramping, fluctuate between no sleep to extreme fatigue. The list goes on. It’s awful. Worst experience of my life."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for almost 3 months (on my last week from the 3rd month), and I have NOT had my period yet. 1st month, I mean, I didn’t really get the side effects, my cramps and headaches were a bit worse than before, but nothing too bad. Sex drive is still the same, I love having sex. But no period, slight spotting for 2-3 days, that’s it. Second month, no period at all, same cramps and headache, and a bit of diarrhea (very uncomfortable). On my 3rd month, sticking with it because of the doctor's recommendation. If I don’t get my period this month, I may switch because not getting my period freaks me out, lol. I have taken other birth control pills (when I was 18, so I forgot the name), but I did not have these effects, I got my period the second month, it was very light, but it was there, lol. I may stick around for the 4th month to see if I’ll feel better, but so far I’m not really happy about this pill."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel Fe, and my insurance changed, and I’m on Blisovi Fe, and it’s the same pill but generic. I love it! I used to have really bad cramps where I would have to go home from school or work and take a hot bath for hours. If I didn’t take an Advil as soon as I got my period, I was in for a horrible day. When I started this birth control, I get light cramps that are tolerable, and I don’t need to take Advil or have a heating pad. I only have my period for 2 or 3 days, and then it’s done."

For Birth Control "They switched the Blisovi Fe birth control I was taking to this, so I started taking this birth control about a month ago or so, and it’s terrible. It doesn’t help my cramps whatsoever, and I’ve been on my period for 12 days so far and it doesn’t seem like it’ll be stopping anytime soon. It started off very light, then all of a sudden BAM! I had to change my tampon every 40 minutes basically. This has been a very bad experience for me. It seems like I’m taking these pills every day for no reason. Just to bleed more. It’ll be different for everyone, but this was my terrible experience."

For Birth Control "I used to take Lo Loestrin Fe 1/20 for like 6 years, then saw a new gynecologist who likely wrote down my prescription wrong and I ended up getting Blisovi 1/20. I’ve been taking it for the last 10 months and have had a generally negative experience. Pros: seems to have cleared up moderate acne, especially on my chest. Cons: cramps and heavy period for the first few months. Extremely low to nonexistent sex drive. Gained about 12 lbs in the first two months with no lifestyle/diet change and now I can’t lose any weight, even after healthy eating at a caloric deficit and working out 5+ days a week for several months. Also have mood swings. Overall, this is just an okay birth control. I’m trying to change back to Lo Loestrin, but I’m worried about my acne coming back! The weight gain and low sex drive on Blisovi is a huge negative though."

For Birth Control "Headaches. Back pain. Nausea. Cramps. Periods heavier and longer than without it. Heavy spotting a week or two after my period. Absolutely horrible. Ratings are 3/10 everywhere. Unsure why it's still being prescribed if so many women suffer symptoms."

"Blisovi Fe has made me have a huge decrease in sex drive. This is probably the one and only disadvantage of this pill that was obvious. This has caused issues for my boyfriend and me since sex is very important in relationships. I am in the process of carefully trying new ways to boost my libido, which is already helping a bit. Despite this, the pill has changed my life. I started my period fairly young, and I would get the most horrible cramps. There were so many days when I had to get picked up because of how bad my cramps were. I could barely move, I would be super nauseous, extremely dizzy, bleed a lot, and it was overall so overwhelmingly painful. I managed to control it a bit as I got older, but once I started taking these pills, that pain went away! I stopped bleeding so much. I am now able to live a normal functional life when I get my period every month. This pill has also helped with the horrible acne that I had as well. My face is so clear now! I would rate this pill an 8/10."

For Birth Control "Honestly, my experience has been great. I've had close to no side effects. I take the pill at 5 pm and eat dinner shortly after to prevent nausea. Occasionally, I'll feel a wave, but I'll just eat something, drink tea, or go to bed, and all is well. I am purposely skipping my period by consistently taking this and have had no spotting, although I felt cramps on a couple of days during when it was supposed to be. Other than that, it's been great! Will update if need be in a couple of months."

For Birth Control "This is the worst BC to exist. I was on Ortho for about 7 months, and it was perfect, my terrible acne cleared up, and I didn’t notice any other changes until I had a 23-day long period and started breaking out badly again. I stopped taking it and wasn’t on any sort of BC for about 3 months. My gyno put me on Blisovi in the beginning of March, but I was afraid to take it due to the terrible reviews. I started taking it in early April, and by the 3rd week, my acne had tripled, even going to my back, neck, etc. I had feelings of depression that I have never even felt before and cried more in those 3 weeks than I ever had before. I gave it another week to finish my cycle and had the worst cramps and heaviest period I’ve had. I haven’t been on BC in 4 months because it was so terrible. Good luck, ladies."

For Birth Control "I absolutely love this product and recommend it to everyone. I know everyone's body is different, so it is not for everyone, but it is not the medicine's fault. I have no negative symptoms since I started this. I used to have heavy periods, terrible cramps, and headaches, and my periods were super long. I now have super consistent 3-4 light periods, no cramps or headaches. I have been on this pill for over a year now and have no desire to switch."

For Birth Control "I have a congenital heart defect I was born with, so my Dr. prescribed me Losetrin FE about 5 years ago. Due to my insurance change, I had to switch to Blisovi FE 1/20, and let me tell you I love it. I have no headaches, vomiting, nothing. I took it 2 years straight, and when I was trying to get pregnant, I took a year off, and it still took me about 10 months to get pregnant with my son. He is 1 now, and I started back taking my pills again 7 months ago. My acne has gone away, I have regular periods to the date I took my last pill. Little to no cramping and light periods that last 3-5 days. I would highly recommend this pill. I know everyone's body is different. But just from my experience, I would highly recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "Thought I would share my experience of this BC. Prior to taking this, I was prescribed Larin FE. The dosing I needed was d/c from Larin, leaving my OB to prescribe me with Blisovi. I was a bit nervous prior to starting the new BC because of all the bad reviews and side effects associated with it on here. However, I have been taking Blisovi for about a month now and have experienced little to no side effects stated from other users. I had a small amount of acne and breakouts appear but combatted them with some extra skin care for a few weeks. Along with some mild cramping, nothing serious. I figured seeing as though most happy customers don't post their experiences online, I would do so! I have not been on this medication as long as some other commenters, but have not experienced nearly any side effects in comparison!"

For Birth Control "After taking the 1st dosage, I happened to do research on the birth control pill, and I read the reviews on this site. I was really scared to continue taking the birth control because of the reviews, but I'm happy that I continued. I am on week 3 of my 1st pack, and to be honest, the only two things that I have experienced are very mild acne (and that was in the 1st week), and also after week 2, I began my period (taking the pill because of amenorrhea). I'm 36 years old, and I've never had period cramps when I did have a regular period, but with this pill, I have mild cramps, and the flow is medium. My period usually lasts for 7 days, and I'm on day 5 just now starting with a medium flow after it's been really light... so I'm not sure how long this will last. So far, no nausea or any sickness. I also have not gained weight. I'm generally a healthy eater, so when hunger strikes, I down some quinoa, kale, and fruits, etc...."

For Birth Control "I was on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill to treat PCOS. This pill was awful. The pill made my face break out way more than usual, I had a lot of mood swings, and I was sad a lot. It also gave me horrible cramps. The only good thing about this pill was that it regulated my periods, other than that, it was horrible."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 6-7 months now, and it does what it's supposed to do. The first month met me with severe, painful cramping for 48 hours straight with no relief, and I definitely had breakthrough bleeding in the first 2 months or so. After that, things have generally been smooth sailing, my period has been getting lighter and shorter in duration every cycle since then. No significant changes in mood or facial acne, though this cycle I have started getting acne on my back and butt, which I never have experienced before. Sex drive has decreased, and I haven't been able to get 'wet' since the first month or so. But I still have been having plenty of sex regardless and am not pregnant, so it's doing its job."

For Birth Control "I use this birth control for irregular and heavy menstruation and I’ve had little to no problems with it. I did not gain weight, instead, I was able to lose it more easily. The only problem is that my cramps are worse than before. I was bleeding heavily for months nonstop and had little to no cramps, but now I definitely have them, though it’s not unbearable, just very annoying. I have IBS as well, and I’m not sure, but I think my flare-ups have gotten a little worse with this birth control, but it could just be a me issue. Other than that, no problems."

For Birth Control "Okay, so... despite all of the negative reviews, I wanted to be yet another positive review for those who are unsure whether to try this birth control or not. Here’s the thing, and you’ll hear this over and over... everyone’s bodies are different. So don’t just go by someone else’s experience! I followed this motto, and for that reason, I’ve actually tried this birth control and I couldn’t be happier! I mean, I am pretty much on day 7 now, and I haven’t felt any of the symptoms people say. Before I started this BC, I was on Yasmin and then Reclipsen, which I didn’t realize had higher doses of estrogen in them, which is probably why my body didn’t like it as much. Unfortunately, these gave me leg cramps and sensations in my hands :( however, they might work for others! Anyways, still early days on Blisovi, and I’ve been symptom-free. I’ll keep y’all updated on this journey, which I’m sure will be a blast."
