For Birth Control "I was previously taking Lo Loestrin, but insurance will now only cover Blisovi Fe. I always kind of struggled with birth controls altering my mental health, but I honestly believe this one is by far the worst for me. I have missed a lot of periods on this pill, which I am getting concerned with. I was taking Blisovi, then at the end of the pills, I noticed I had one last Lo Loestrin and took that. I just switched back to Blisovi, and I have been an absolute disaster. I am anxious constantly, and it is beginning to affect my relationship. I don't feel like myself, and it is frustrating because I know I wasn't like this before. Started talking to a therapist because of it, but I truly think it is the medication, or at least it takes my anxiety to this upsetting level. Need to switch to something else, but I am not sure what is next."

For Birth Control "I was put on the pill for heavy periods, which caused 5 iron infusions. First, I was on Lo Loestrin, which caused very clear skin and 2-day light periods and was great at first, however, after a few months, I had breakthrough bleeding and anger. The doctor had to make the dosage higher, so I switched to Blisovi, which is 100 times WORSE! The first week, I was crying every day, having panic attacks and at first had a 12-day period. The period eventually regulated and lightened, but I was told to push through another month to adjust with the emotions. I am still anxious, depressed, on edge, angry, mood swings, and no sex drive at all. I have no desire to look at a man. I am stopping this pill! The only pros to this pill were that I did not gain weight from it. I really hope I find a pill that works for me soon."

For Birth Control "Do not take this pill. After 2 months, I am changing due to weight gain, anger, mood swings, extreme exhaustion to the point where I can't stay awake past 9 pm. I do not feel like myself, I have awful anxiety that I have never had before. The exhaustion is to the point where getting through the day has become an issue."

I had horrible headaches, pelvic pain, and chest pain, you name it! I had a low sex drive, which was very unusual, but also made me have bad vaginal dryness. I stopped taking it halfway into my second week, and right away I felt like myself again. This pill was really mucking me up in every way possible. For Birth Control "The first four months on this pill had me spotting for the majority of the time. I was really moody all the time and would cry over any little thing. As months went by, my periods got shorter and lighter, but I developed extreme anxiety. The anxiety turned into depression and I didn’t feel like doing anything all the time. After 8 months, I stopped this pill and I’m going to be taking Gianvi. Hopefully, I will start to feel like my normal self again, but I do not recommend taking this pill. If you start getting depressed and anxious out of nowhere, blame this pill!"

"My obgyn Dr. prescribed Blisovi Fe to regulate my hormones. He stated they were irregular due to being estrogen dominant. At first, it made me feel a spacey, unbalanced feeling. Then, after a couple of weeks, I started experiencing severe anxiety and neck pain. I immediately stopped it, neck pain went away. Tried another time, neck pain came back and spike in BP. Just to make sure, I tried it again a third time later to rule out the cause and started having severe neck pain with tremors, dizziness, high blood pressure, which ended me going to the ER. Informed my obgyn doctor immediately, and he said that medication does not have those side effects. I never experienced anything like this ever! He would not prescribe anything else. I have since decided to see another obgyn Dr. elsewhere. I still get intermittent dizziness and an unbalanced feeling. Not sure if related."

For Birth Control "I have had a shaky experience with this birth control. Positives: no weight gain, anxiety, depression, or pregnancy. Negatives: if I forget to take a pill, I will start to spot and start my period within 8-10 hours of forgetting, and my cycle will be messed up the rest of the month. I also have drastically noticed a decrease in my sex drive. Mood swings and hormonal acne are definitely still there before I start my period. I’ve given this pill 6 months, time to try something new!"

For Birth Control "This birth control is terrible. I've never had acne before in my life, and now after taking this for almost 2 months, I have acne on my entire face, and also on my back. I have also gained 6 pounds, and this pill affects me emotionally very much. Since taking this pill, I now have bad social anxiety and constantly find myself tearing up for no reason at all. I am genuinely a happy person, and this birth control constantly has me feeling anxious or sad. The only positive of this is it has prevented pregnancy like its main purpose. I am now switching to a new brand."

For Birth Control "I'm surprised by all the negative reviews for this birth control! I know everyone reacts differently to different types of birth control, but so far, my experience has been good! No increases in cramps, PMS, or acne. I have had anxiety lately, but it was probably due to outside factors (19 unit course load and boy problems). I've never taken any type of birth control before, and I was really worried about how my body would react, but so far, everything has been fine! I've had spotting, but I hear that's expected in the first three months."

For Birth Control "Don’t take this. Please don’t get on this BC. For the first few months on it, I was fine, but after two years on it, all I can say is that I'm completely done. Mood swings, extreme anxiety (especially around when my period is supposed to start), depression, and so on. I could go on for hours about the horrible side effects of this BC. I have truly not felt like myself. Aside from the horrible mental effects, I have ZERO sex drive and random cramps and bleeding. Every time I am sexually active, I somehow convince myself that I am pregnant, which is really just from the anxiety this drug has given me. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!"

For Birth Control "I originally was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. But kept getting ovarian cysts, so my doctor switched me to Blisovi, and the first 2 months were fine. Then last month, I only spotted for a day. Then about a week and a half ago, I was extremely sick: stomach cramps, almost fainting, couldn’t eat without getting sick, dizzy, lightheaded, extreme anxiety and depression, even being on a higher dose of mental medication. I don’t even feel like myself and feel I’m falling out of love with the things I enjoy most. Now my period for this month is non-existent. Was at the ER for the pain Friday, and all tests came back perfectly fine, including the pregnancy test. Now, the past two days, my breasts are super sore. Will be getting off this immediately. I don’t recommend this because if you like being mentally healthy and getting regular periods. I thought it was just me and possibly pregnancy, but I’ve only had sex on this birth control once, and he didn’t even finish in me, so I will be going back to my old script."

For Birth Control "I started taking this three months after my now one-year-old child was born. I started having uncontrollable rage at the drop of a hat. Every morning, I woke up with anger so bad that my chest would hurt. I picked fights with my partner and raised my tone with my daughter way more than I should have. My periods became unpredictable on this birth control as well. Every month around my period, my anxiety skyrocketed. Sore breasts and acne. No sex drive at all. It's day four off of this, and for the first time in months, I woke up feeling like myself and not a monster. -10/10 for me."

"I started this birth control, Blisovi Fe 1/20, to control or minimize severe PMS symptoms (pelvic pain, cramping, bladder pain, irregular bleeding, irritability, strong fatigue). Upon starting the pill after switching from another BC, I had brown spotting. This lasted a week and developed into heavier bleeding and clotting, especially at night. I bled for the entire 3 weeks of the pill pack, and it got progressively heavier. Also had bloating, cramping, irritability, terrible anxiety, mood swings, weight gain, fatigue, probably from all the bleeding. I had a full-blown panic attack in a situation where I would have typically been able to regulate my emotions. I stopped taking the pill after pack 1, and the next day I stopped bleeding. This definitely did not work for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 when my insurance switched it from Larin FE. I bled on and off the first pack, which wasn’t too bad, but then started getting terrible cramps every day, throughout the whole day. My anxiety and depression (which I was already diagnosed with but never was this bad) kept getting worse and worse. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I stopped birth control completely for a month. My symptoms went away completely."

For Birth Control "This is horrible. I started this birth control early July. Now a day into the placebo pills, I felt terrible, and it took me a little while to realize it was from the birth control. First, it made my cycle a week late, so I was stressed about being pregnant. Once the cycle came, it lasted past 7 days, which is extremely alarming. Second, when I did have my cycle, I had cramps all of the days I bled, which is also not normal at all for me. I also was very depressed and anxious all the time. This is not my first time being on birth control, when I was 18, I was on Levora, and it was great. I had 0 cramps, my cycle lasted 3 days, and it made my skin very nice. I will never use this birth control again."

For Birth Control "Was on Blisovi. I had been changed by my OBGYN - without telling me from Junel, which worked well for me for the last 3 years. For about 5 days before I threw it in the trash and had 3 panic attacks back to back. No history of recent struggles with anxiety or depression, but I can tell you my life literally paused on this pill for the few days I took it. The anxiety attacks felt like I was dying. Nausea was nonstop, constant need to just burst into tears, and heavy spotting. Basically, the only thing this pill did for me over the few days I took it was not allow me to get pregnant. If I can give some advice, talk with your doctor about the pros and cons before just giving it a go like I did. I learned my lesson here and won’t ever recommend this pill to anyone I know."

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible. I was on another combination pill for about 4 months before this birth control. I was already struggling with the side effects of my previous birth control, and Blisovi Fe made it 10x worse. Extreme anxiety, paranoia, weight gain, constant spotting off and on, painful sex (which I’ve never had before this birth control), I started really despising everyone around me, random pelvic pain, constant bowel movements, and many more. I haven’t even been on this birth control for a whole month. I genuinely thought I was going crazy and couldn’t figure out why I was having problems until I realized it all matched up to me using this birth control."

For Birth Control "So I am 23, this is my second birth control. I took Lo Loestrin 1/10 for 3 months, but my insurance doesn’t cover it anymore, so I’m on this now! What I can say is this period I had no cramps! I’m on my first pack of Blisovi, and my skin is great too. I was afraid I would have terrible side effects, but I never did with this one, nor the other I took before this one either! I have noticed, though, that I am very sad lately. I never feel truly happy 100%. Maybe it’s because I just moved out of state as well, recently, without family. I’m not sure, BUT I can say I am very emotional now. I hope it’s just a phase, but if not, I will have to get off of it. I have always been anxious and have some slight anxiety here and there. I don’t think that has gotten worse."

For Birth Control "Really don't trust this pill, although it treated my pain. This medication induces anxiety, and the side effects worsen with time. Around 3 months in, I started having panic attacks. From the beginning, nausea and vomiting were problems. Eventually, projectile vomiting turned into a daily occurrence. If you're taking other meds, this can affect their effectiveness. Can't wait to get off this med."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control the same week a friend of mine did, and we both instantly developed severe anxiety. I started having regular panic attacks again (something that hadn’t happened for 3 years) and couldn’t engage in normal activities. It was unbearable for both of us, so we both quit after an exhausting week. Couldn’t eat or sleep. Didn’t even have a sex drive anymore, so the point was defeated. If you have any history with depression or anxiety, I advise you not to try this birth control."

After switching from a discontinued pill to Gildess, my pharmacy has rotated generics from Gildess to Junel to Blisovi Fe 1/20, and so forth. Mainly those three. Over the past two years, I have also struggled with anxiety. I have just realized that my crippling panic attacks and 95% of my anxiety issues occur when I am taking Blisovi Fe 1/20. For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for nine months now. At first, the worst side effect was major spotting even if I barely missed the time I’m supposed to take it by fifteen minutes. I also gained seven pounds the first three months. That weight must’ve been water retention because now I’ve lost that weight plus more. The only really bad side effect I have now is increased moments of sadness and anxiety. I also, in the last two months, have really started to suffer from vaginal dryness even when I want to have sex. I’m going off of this pill in two months because we are going to start trying for a baby. I’m beyond excited to go off and hope I get rid of the dryness because it really does affect my sex life. For Birth Control "The Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill is absolute garbage. In the first few days of taking it, I've already gained 4 pounds. I have headaches every night so far and feeling super sick to the point of wanting to throw up. In the evenings, my mood swings have been ridiculous! My PMS weeks are usually bad and, like, this is my first week on this pack, and it feels like I am going through PMS. I suggest switching. I'm already done with this pill after I finish this pack. Thanks for the unnecessary anxiety, depression, and weight gain. No thanks."
