I have occasional breakthrough bleeding, but it's just spotting, nothing big, no mood swings, but once a month my belly bloats a little bit. Didn't make me gain any weight, though."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was on Jolessa for a year and bled for almost the entire time. The doctor put me on Beyaz at my insistence. Bleeding finally stopped in the 3rd or 4th week. Have not bled since. I have period symptoms, but no bleeding. My PMDD is so much better on Beyaz. On Jolessa, I had hard little bumps on my right cheek. On Beyaz, those don't break above the skin anymore, so aren't a problem. My only real gripe is the cost ($75 co-pay for the generic 3-pack), and the period symptoms that can last a week or more."

I love the pill, however, I get really bad cramps when my period comes. Not sure if it's because my body is still adjusting to being off the shot or what."

It has cleared up my skin significantly but caused bad mood swings and nausea. I am switching to a new birth control with a lower dose of hormones to help with my mood."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I'm about to finish my first pack, and I have mixed reviews. During the first 2 weeks, I was craving sugar like crazy. About the third week, that calmed down, though. I started taking Safyral because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin, and already Safyral has regulated my period to just the week of my placebo pills. My period started late, but that's not a big deal considering this is my first month on this birth control. The most annoying side effect is the bloating. I don't think I've ever felt this bloated, and I NEVER get cramps on my period, but I'm having cramps with this pill. I'm sure these symptoms will calm down as my body gets used to it, if not, I'm switching to something different."

I could barely function. That went away, and I started getting headaches. The good thing is I didn't gain or lose weight."

I didn't even finish my first pack, and I had to quit taking it. I got terrible migraines every single day, and it would make me sick to my stomach. It also made me completely crazy. The smallest things would set me off. The day after I stopped taking the pill, my migraines disappeared and my moods were back in check."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "Been on Beyaz for 3 years now, and it’s been amazing. My skin has completely cleared up to the point where I have no acne, and my period has gotten a lot lighter and only lasts 3 days in total now. The only negative side effect I’ve seen is my sex drive, and overall ability to stay wet has decreased a lot. But if you’re only looking for a birth control mainly for your skin, this is the best one!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on this pill for two months. In the first 3 days, I already knew I needed something else. I am normally quite laid-back and cheery but have had small issues with anxiety. On Beyaz, my anxiety was constant, and I would get into periods of complete emotional detachment or where anything someone said would hurt me. I would have anxiety attacks so bad that I would scratch at my skin, and my boyfriend would have to hold me down. Not to mention, my sex drive was pretty much gone, and when I would have sex, there would be intense pain or pressure on my lower abdomen. If you already struggle with anxiety or depression, I recommend staying away from this pill."

I switched to a different one for a few months, had awful side effects, so my year check-up came and my doctor recommended Beyaz. I have been on it for almost a year. And my sex drive is almost completely gone, and I'm more moody on the pill than off. It's crazy. But I don't have any headaches anymore. Had no weight gain and no cramping or back aches on my period."

Everyone is so different, you'll never guess your own reaction browsing others' experiences. But if you're curious - here's mine. It was recommended to me for a hormonal imbalance/acne when I was 18. I'm 25 now and still taking it. The first month was awful, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Now my periods are lighter, cramps are milder, migraines are gone, and I did not experience any major side effects (no weight gain or moodiness!). However, my sex drive isn't as high. Not nonexistent, just taken down a notch. I still think the benefits have outweighed the cons for me. Also - I was switched to Rajani and then back to Beyaz. Didn't notice any difference."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was scared to take Beyaz because of some of the reviews I had, but I’m so glad I did. I was diagnosed with mild PCOS and was having irregular spotting and pelvic cramps from it. After 2 months of being on it, my pelvic cramps and irregular bleeding have gone away. My periods are now lighter, and I have less cramping. I did experience a breakout when I first started taking it, but it wasn’t too bad, and it eventually went away within a couple of weeks. I definitely recommend this birth control, and it hasn’t caused me anything bad for me so far!"

I had side effects ranging from extreme hormonal emotions, weight gain, and migraines. Since starting this pill almost a year ago, I have had absolutely no negative side effects, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a birth control that's not only reliable but doesn't affect your weight or your emotions."

The cons: I too craved sugar after starting this pill, I had hair loss the first few weeks, my vision has become a problem, especially in fluorescent lighting, started having headaches, I feel more tired, breathing has become heavier than normal, and breast tenderness."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I am 21, and when I started this birth control, I took it to relieve horrible periods due to what I believe is endometriosis, with intense pain that led to passing out and heavy bleeding-horrible! This pain has stopped, which is great, and my acne stayed about the same as before-minor, not any worse. But the last month I have been on it, a new symptom has arisen that is causing me to switch: the worst nausea I have ever had. I take it at night, and I wake up in the morning almost unable to do anything. Also, I now get carsick and never have before, and it has increased my anxiety. I should mention I do have Hashimoto's thyroid disease, which may contribute to my experience. I will be switching to Microgestin to see if I can be more comfortable."

I have had some breakthrough bleeding, but I think that is because I started the pill in the middle of my cycle when I had an IUD (Mirena) removed after 4 years. My skin looks great. I get mild bloating and breast tenderness just before my period, which goes away with the start of my period. Nothing majorly inconvenient. I think that after a few months of use, when my hormones get back on a normal cycle, things will even out."

I already had a tubal ligation, so Beyaz is for hormones and acne. I feel very nauseous and have severe migraines, loss of appetite, extremely tired, also, I have a nasty taste in my mouth that just won't go away, no matter how much I brush, floss, or use mouthwash. I'm not sure if I could handle these side effects, being a 2 and 3. Working full-time, I have to have the most energy possible. These side effects don't help."

For Acne "I have been on Sandoz brand for a month and a half now, and my experience was terrible. No help whatsoever with my acne, migraines every single week, constant, no pain reliever worked. My eyesight started to worsen to the point where I swear my eyes are crossing. I already had IBS before I started these pills, but they have made my symptoms unbearable (abdominal pain, nausea, constipation), so painful I actually got prescribed meds for it. I have been so tired, falling asleep at 4-5 pm and waking up at 6 am the next morning. I would wake up in the middle of the night starving, then I would eat, thus making me gain weight. Everyone's experiences are different, so just pay attention and stop them immediately, it's really not worth it."

The only thing I have noticed is, when taking it, make sure you take the pills at the same time or 30 minutes after you usually take it. I noticed when I got COVID, I would sleep all night and day, and it made it so I would spot (that sucked), but other than that, if you’re good at taking your pills on time and you want to skip your period, TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!"

I went about my life for a few years and then considered switching to Ashlyan, which is just one period every 3 months. Well, let me tell you, having only one period every 3 months is MAGICAL. Unfortunately, my acne went full force, 6 months into the new pill, my entire face was broken out. I was using the strong topical prescription available, and still just getting worse. I was at my lowest when I realized the problem was probably the pill. I spoke with my doc, and we decided I could switch back to Beyaz and just get 2 extra packs a year and still get only 1 period every 3 months. 1 month into Beyaz, and my face is clear again!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I have been taking Beyaz for 1.5 years. I haven't really gained weight on it. I just have a harder time losing weight, but that's nothing that working out and eating right didn't fix. Anyway, I started taking Beyaz for birth control purposes and for acne. It definitely has helped with both. I got off of it for a couple of months, and as soon as I did, my acne came right back. Needless to say, I got right back on it. I don't have nausea or anything, I take it at night instead of in the morning. The only side effects I have are dehydration, and sometimes I'm more hungry than I should be. I just try to eat healthy snacks and drink more water. I am more tired on the pill than off, but I just try to drink tea or something when I feel too tired and get sleep!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I’m 19, 5’7’’ and weigh 135 lbs, and I’ve been on birth control since I was 16. My periods were so bad ever since they started. I bled so much, but it only lasted about 3-4 days. I would get really bad hot flashes and deep aching cramps with my periods (even on birth control). My hormones were all over the place. I’m on my 3rd pack (I skip my periods). I was scared to go back on birth control because of how nauseous and crazy I felt on my other type. I have not had anything negative happen so far with Beyaz. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost a pound or two, haven’t had any period bleeding or symptoms (bye-bye hot flashes), my boobs are very tender and have grown like 2 cup sizes, they’ve grown so much that I feel like they’re in the way now, lol. Well, with bigger boobs comes forth a very excited boyfriend, but now I literally have no sex drive. I feel bad, haha. I used to, but now I don’t. Overall, I 10/10 recommend. It’s a game changer."

Now I feel more bloated, depressed, and have experienced weight gain. I have also had headaches. I haven't had a real period in several months since Yaz would just make me have cramping, not actually bleeding. I even have taken tests to ensure I wasn't pregnant because I wasn't bleeding. I'm not sure if the same thing works for Beyaz or not. I just hope my body adapts to this and I start to lose weight again and get energy back."

Positive and negative. My period became shorter, and my skin cleared up so quick! I have not had a pimple on my skin since starting this. The only negative I can think of is a little bit of weight gain and an emotional side effect. I definitely felt a little more sensitive and anxious after taking it, but nothing crazy enough to go off the pill. Definitely recommend for people who are struggling with acne or bad breakouts."
