Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have a history of depression/anxiety, which I'm currently treating with medication. I also have had symptoms of PMDD in the past. Beyaz is the ONLY birth control I have tried that completely takes away the PMDD, clears my face, hasn't made me gain weight, etc. I love it. When a generic for Beyaz came out (Rajani), I tried it for 3 months, and each month, two days before starting my period, I had terrible PMDD episodes with extreme depression/anxiety/cramping/migraines. I'm going back to Beyaz."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for 5 months now. I was switched from a normal hormone birth control because it caused terrible breakouts (which I had never had in my life) as well as severe mood swings. At first, I really liked Beyaz. It cleared my skin back up to normal, and I didn't notice any changes. Now I am starting to get extremely agitated at the smallest things, crying for no reason, extreme headaches, and am getting cramps like I used to without birth control. I am considering getting off birth control altogether."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I've been on Beyaz for about a year now, and I love it! I had some acne before (not much really), but it's completely gone, I never break out now. I never have cramps, my breasts got bigger, and when I went on it, I was trying to lose weight and had no problems (lost 15 lbs immediately after and got bigger breasts). I would recommend Beyaz to anyone."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for 5 years, since the age of 23. The first few months were rough. I can remember being overly emotional. As an introvert, I could definitely notice the difference but then mellowed out. I had my period for 2-3 days after the first 6 months. After the first year, I noticed that my period would occasionally skip a month or two or would come out brown for 2-3 days after taking the last pill in the pack. My acne was less present, appearing only within the week of my period. Rarely, if ever, do I feel cramps; nothing like before the pill. For me, I had initial weight loss, but after my body got used to the drug, the weight returned. My migraines are now once a year instead of monthly. I've experienced no change in my sexual drive-still high. In the first year, I would always use a condom or Plan B just in case. After STD testing and a monogamous relationship, did I stop using extra protection. I can happily say that the birth control has worked thus far."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I feel wonderful taking Beyaz, but it's not perfect. It really helped with moderate acne, sometimes I would break out on my back and chest. Since taking it, I don't remember when I had a blemish. I have no mood swings, bloating, or weight gain-I'm actually at my lowest weight. The best thing is my sex drive is great. The only minus is my period still varies, sometimes it's heavy, sometimes it's light, and I'm still getting intensive cramps the first day. But honestly, I have no other issues, and I can deal with it."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have been on this pill for 3 months going into 4 and have had my ups and downs with it. The 1st month, I experienced intense mood swings, I was crying and angry all the time and just wanted to be alone. The 2nd month, I was wondering why my acne wasn't going away, but my moods had improved. Although I was experiencing breakthrough bleeding for 15 days, I continued to take the pill. My period also brought cramps like no other. The 3rd month, I have been feeling sort of depressed, but I think that's due to life, not the pill. My breakthrough bleeding still occurred (some days light, some days none), and my skin has improved. I lost weight on Beyaz. I am looking forward to what month 4 brings and hoping all of the negative symptoms are gone."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "As far as birth control and periods went, this was fine. My periods were much less crampy and painful, my skin didn't change at all. However, it was like my personality completely flipped. I felt robbed of my sense of adventure, I had absolutely no interest in going and doing fun things with my family. I've never had depression, but I think this must be what it feels like. I stopped taking it and am almost back to my old self, even though I'm back to having terrible periods. I will take cramps over how I was acting any day of the week."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "So far, I have been on Beyaz for 4 months and have not had any issues. Acne-wise: I have minimal acne, but I do get hormonal cystic acne, which is painful and bothersome. Since being on Beyaz for the past 4 months, I have not had any huge cystic breakouts before or after my period! So far, so good! Weight gain: Within the first month of taking Beyaz, I didn't have much of an appetite (no changes in diet) and lost maybe about 5-6 lbs in a month, but my body must have gotten used to the pill because I gained that all back within the next month (no changes in diet). Thankful I have not had any of the major side effects such as severe cramping or bloating, swelling of ankles, hair loss (my hair is already thin, so I can't really say if that had an effect or not). So far, so good."

For Birth Control "I switched from Beyaz to this generic form and will be going back to Beyaz. There's something in the ingredients that I'm reacting to. I've gone up a cup size and my boobs swell for no reason... I eat something salty and I'm instantly bloated and my boobs retain water. I can't lose weight. I get emotional before my period (crying, feeling insane anxiety, cramps) and during my period, but like in an unhinged way. I gave it some time (9 months) for my body to get used to the hormones and was hoping my boobs would go back to normal size, but they haven't and I feel fat and emotional. Beyaz is better."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I had never taken birth control until last year. I started on Loestrin, and it was okay until the 3rd month when I started cramping almost every day. I started Beyaz after that and am into my third month of it. My periods have been longer and a lot more heavy. I get nauseated all the time now, no matter the time of day, and I'm not pregnant. I get hungry more frequently and have gained some weight. I also have a lot of headaches. I'm going to try something new again. Beyaz just isn't for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "It took 2-3 months for everything to regulate, but now that I've been on it for almost a year, I love it. My cramps aren't as bad, bleeding is much lighter than it used to be, hormones are 1,000 times more steady, and best of all: only 4 periods per year! The only drawback is that I get random menstrual-like cramps, but they're very light, don't even need to take ibuprofen; it's more of a small annoyance than anything. I haven't gained weight, but my face has broken out some over the past 1-2 months; it didn't for the longest time, so I'm not sure whether there's a correlation to the Beyaz or not. I take it at night because if I take any kind of birth control in the morning, I feel extremely dizzy/nauseous all day. Overall, an awesome choice!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I went from Yaz to Beyaz. Worst decision ever. Yaz was amazing, but I was receiving it for free. They couldn't offer it for free anymore, so they put me on Beyaz. My period is longer, my cramps are bad, and I am emotional - which is crazy because I was never emotional when I was on Yaz or no birth control! The worst part is the acne. GIANT pimples everywhere. I am 27 and feel like I am 13! Ladies, keep in mind everyone will have their own experience, as it's how it reacts with your specific body."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "This is the 2nd month that I have been on this pill. My doctor put me on it because I have such horrendous cramps every month, and he thought this would help. It has not. Since I've been on this pill, I have had my period every two weeks for the same amount of time I normally have it (3-4 days), along with the awful, awful cramps. I see such good reviews about this and wonder why my body isn't reacting well to it. Wondering if anyone else has had the same experience and wondering if it will work itself out. I can't see the doc until August 7th."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Beyaz was my first birth control pill. I bled throughout the first month, and I got cramps, which really scared me because I usually have short periods and almost never get cramps. After the first month, the bleeding stopped, my face cleared up, and my sex drive increased. Sadly, after 6-7 months of being on Beyaz, I noticed my vaginal lubrication wasn't the same, even when my sex drive was high. For me, that was a huge upside down, and I decided to switch to another pill, but I would definitely recommend it since that was the only side effect I experienced."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz since September 2013 after switching from the Depo shot. I love the pill, however, I get really bad cramps when my period comes. Not sure if it's because my body is still adjusting to being off the shot or what."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I'm about to finish my first pack, and I have mixed reviews. During the first 2 weeks, I was craving sugar like crazy. About the third week, that calmed down, though. I started taking Safyral because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin, and already Safyral has regulated my period to just the week of my placebo pills. My period started late, but that's not a big deal considering this is my first month on this birth control. The most annoying side effect is the bloating. I don't think I've ever felt this bloated, and I NEVER get cramps on my period, but I'm having cramps with this pill. I'm sure these symptoms will calm down as my body gets used to it, if not, I'm switching to something different."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I used to be on Yaz until the price got so high. I switched to a different one for a few months, had awful side effects, so my year check-up came and my doctor recommended Beyaz. I have been on it for almost a year. And my sex drive is almost completely gone, and I'm more moody on the pill than off. It's crazy. But I don't have any headaches anymore. Had no weight gain and no cramping or back aches on my period."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been taking Beyaz for about 5 years now. I started when I was 14 because of severe cramps. It worked great for a while, but in the last few months, I have experienced spotting and longer periods with more severe cramps. I am going to speak to a doctor about trying another pill."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was concerned about starting Safyral after reading some of the reviews here, but have been pleasantly surprised by how easy my transition onto it has been. I was not on any contraceptive previously, and when I started my Safyral regimen my only side effect was very light spotting for the first month. Not only did I escape mood swings, weight gain, acne, nausea, etc., but my usual menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramps, breakouts) have become almost nonexistent. I am not yet sexually active, so I can't speak to Safyral's effectiveness as a contraceptive, but I've been very happy with it in the meantime."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I had been taking Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 for 2 years until it started giving me bad cramping and breakthrough bleeding on the active pills. I think my body was starting to reject it, or the dosage just wasn't high enough anymore. Then my doctor suggested trying Safyral and gave me 2 free samples. I just finished my first month, and it wasn't too bad. The worst side effect I had was nausea. My breasts felt fuller, but they went back to their normal size after my period. My period was lighter, and the cramping wasn't that bad. I didn't gain any weight or feel bloated. I will have to see how this next month is... I plan on staying on this pill!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Been on this birth control now for 4 months. It works well as it prevents pregnancy, but so far, I've had very heavy periods and severe cramps and tons of chin acne. Yaz never gave me these issues. I want to switch, but the doctor told me to give it another 3 months to see what happens. If I still don't like it, then she said I can switch. I must stick it out until then."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on Safyral two months ago after being on Camrese due to breakthrough bleeding. Safyral definitely took care of that issue, but it came with several others. I now have very painful cramps just before and on my period. My periods last 7 days and are very heavy (which is normal for me off of birth control), and I'm constantly bloated. I also get headaches more than usual and have gained about 4 lbs and cannot lose weight at all. Going tomorrow to hopefully switch to a lower dose again."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "When I first started taking Beyaz, it was great. I had no problems, but towards the end of the cycle, I had a terrible attitude, was very emotional, nauseous, and had too many headaches. Once my period was gone, it came back a day after, and it was light to medium. Very bad cramps. My appetite increased a lot more when I started. But everyone's body is different and would react differently to the pills."
