Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "The birth control pills I tried before Beyaz made me so emotionally crazy. My academics and social life crumbled to pieces. After stopping those pills, my gynecologist suggested Beyaz since I have a history of anxiety and depression, and I am so glad he did. Because of my history and how hormones mess with those conditions, if Beyaz had the same mentally severe side effects, I would be forced to forgo birth control altogether. But now my life is back on track, and I deal with no emotional or hormonal effects from this pill, no nausea, no weight gain, and only headaches that went away after 2-3 months. Thank you, Beyaz."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for 5 months now. I was switched from a normal hormone birth control because it caused terrible breakouts (which I had never had in my life) as well as severe mood swings. At first, I really liked Beyaz. It cleared my skin back up to normal, and I didn't notice any changes. Now I am starting to get extremely agitated at the smallest things, crying for no reason, extreme headaches, and am getting cramps like I used to without birth control. I am considering getting off birth control altogether."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been off and on Beyaz for about a year. I was excited to have a regular period and also the birth control factor. I stopped taking it the first time around (after 7 months) because I felt like I was going crazy. I was emotional all the time, and it affected my relationships and my eating habits. I restarted it a couple of months ago, and I have to stop taking it again. I get really bad headaches, I have brain fog, and I feel like I'm pregnant because I crave different foods all the time. I don't want to work out, I don't have any energy, and my emotions are all over the place - terrible anxiety. I'm not going to say 'don't take this' because every woman is different, and some won't experience any of these symptoms. But if you are experiencing these symptoms, I suggest talking to your doctor or simply acknowledging how you feel on it. I'm stopping today, and I'll never go back."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was on Beyaz for one month and had to switch. It made me tired and nauseous. It gave me the worst headaches. They would last all day, and Advil did not take the pain away. Maybe if I waited the whole 3 months, it would've straightened out, but I just couldn't deal with the awful headaches. But like everyone says, everyone's body is different. Only pro: my mild acne seemed to clear up."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Here to give an update! Last time I posted here was the beginning of November, so it's been just about 3 months. Please, if you're thinking about trying it, go for it. Safe to say I absolutely love Beyaz, the spotting problem I had went away after the first pack and is normal. I originally went on Beyaz for acne and bad periods. My acne has never been better than it is right now. The first month was hard, but by the end of the second pack, I started to see serious changes. I'm now onto my fourth pack, and I still get a few breakouts (small, maybe 2-3) when I'm on the sugar pills, but I'm hoping even those go away soon. I used to bleed through a tampon and onto my clothes within 2 hours, and now my period lasts 3-4 days, no cramps. No noticeable side effects, weight gain, headaches, or mood changes. This pill is truly the best thing that has happened to me! I feel confident in myself again. Thank you, Beyaz!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have only been on Beyaz for a week, but I have noticed a significant decrease in appetite. I have already lost weight on this pill. So far, I have noticed increased minor headaches and nausea the first few days. So far, I really like this pill, the last pill I was on made me gain weight, and I was very emotional. Hope it continues to be a good pill for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for a little over a week, and I feel like a crazy person. Like so many of the comments I've read, I also switched from Yaz to Beyaz after its Bayer Saver's Program expired. Now I have headaches almost daily and am extremely moody. It's terrible."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I had been on Yaz for close to a year and was using the Bayer card program to get my refills for $25. With the intro of Beyaz into the market, Bayer no longer offers the discounted price for Yaz, so my OBGYN switched me over so I could continue to use my savings card. Since Beyaz is the EXACT same as Yaz, just with folate, I expected to feel no different. SO WRONG! I am SO moody on Beyaz, fine one day and insane the next, crying for no reason, terrible all-day headaches, and breaking out. I was NEVER like that on Yaz! Luckily, my pharmacy has kept both prescriptions active so I can switch back to Yaz and just buy the generic. I miss paying $25, but I will pay $59 to be sane."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I just finished month 2 of Beyaz and am hoping things get better after month 3. I have had just about every side effect that has been listed except for the mood swings. I have gained quite a bit of weight. In the first few weeks of taking Beyaz, I was very nauseous and vomited a few times. I have daily headaches. I have zero sex drive, and the thought of sex makes me ill when I am usually very sexually active. Thank goodness I have an understanding partner. I am unbelievably tired no matter how much sleep I get. I normally have acne on a regular basis, but it hasn't gotten worse, but I am patiently waiting for it to get better. I will continue to take Beyaz as recommended by my doctor for at least another 2 months and hope things get better."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I had never taken birth control until last year. I started on Loestrin, and it was okay until the 3rd month when I started cramping almost every day. I started Beyaz after that and am into my third month of it. My periods have been longer and a lot more heavy. I get nauseated all the time now, no matter the time of day, and I'm not pregnant. I get hungry more frequently and have gained some weight. I also have a lot of headaches. I'm going to try something new again. Beyaz just isn't for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "The first week, I was convinced I had the flu. I would vomit a few hours after I took the pill and felt lightheaded. I could barely function. That went away, and I started getting headaches. The good thing is I didn't gain or lose weight."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I used to be on Yaz until the price got so high. I switched to a different one for a few months, had awful side effects, so my year check-up came and my doctor recommended Beyaz. I have been on it for almost a year. And my sex drive is almost completely gone, and I'm more moody on the pill than off. It's crazy. But I don't have any headaches anymore. Had no weight gain and no cramping or back aches on my period."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I just finished my first pack. The pros: I've lost 13 lbs, my face is less oily, and my mood is better than it was. The cons: I too craved sugar after starting this pill, I had hair loss the first few weeks, my vision has become a problem, especially in fluorescent lighting, started having headaches, I feel more tired, breathing has become heavier than normal, and breast tenderness."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for about 3 weeks after switching from Yaz due to cost. Now I feel more bloated, depressed, and have experienced weight gain. I have also had headaches. I haven't had a real period in several months since Yaz would just make me have cramping, not actually bleeding. I even have taken tests to ensure I wasn't pregnant because I wasn't bleeding. I'm not sure if the same thing works for Beyaz or not. I just hope my body adapts to this and I start to lose weight again and get energy back."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started taking Beyaz in 2016 and was on it for four years. I never had any serious side effects, just headache, some slight stomach pain, and mood swings. I am now back on it after being off for a year, and I’ve had much worse mood swings. I’m hoping they will subside in the coming weeks and am willing to stick to it because I have PCOS and my periods suck. It does wonders for my acne, and I have very regular, easy periods on it. It’s nice knowing when I’m going to start, and I only bleed for about 3-4 days. I do notice I have a much lower sex drive when I’m on it, though. All in all, this birth control is good, and the good outweighs the bad."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on Safyral two months ago after being on Camrese due to breakthrough bleeding. Safyral definitely took care of that issue, but it came with several others. I now have very painful cramps just before and on my period. My periods last 7 days and are very heavy (which is normal for me off of birth control), and I'm constantly bloated. I also get headaches more than usual and have gained about 4 lbs and cannot lose weight at all. Going tomorrow to hopefully switch to a lower dose again."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz for 1 month. It's the first kind I've tried, and it's worked pretty well for me so far. The only problem is that I have moments where I get extremely moody. My hunger has increased, and I get headaches more often than usual. Also, towards the end of the pack, I started spotting a lot. Other than that, I'm happy with it. The side effects aren't too bad, so I can't complain. They will probably go away since I've only been on it for a month, and my body's still getting used to it."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "On day 7 of Beyaz. I'm 22, and I was previously taking Femcon. I discontinued because of severe anxiety that could or could not have been related to the birth control (it's hard to tell sometimes if the symptoms are the pill or just you). I took a year break off of birth control before starting Beyaz. So far, I have mixed feelings. I have been feeling panicky and moody, but again, I'm not sure if that is a product of the birth control or my GAD. I also went back on birth control for my skin because I have bothersome acne. I have been developing pretty severe headaches, and I have also been feeling nauseous. My doctor said these symptoms will go away with time, so for now I am going to stick it out and see."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium "I have been on Beyaz for about 3 months and can't figure out if I like it or not. My OB-GYN prescribed it because I had acne, and my skin looks GREAT. Probably the best it's looked in a while. My sex drive hasn't decreased at all, maybe even a little increased. But I did notice that I have an increased appetite and have gained a couple of pounds. I get headaches sometimes too and night sweats. Maybe it will get better though, I'll see!"

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I was originally on Yaz, cleared up skin in 3 months. It was amazing! Although I did get occasional headaches. Switched to Beyaz due to the Bayer savings card. I continued to get headaches...like stay in bed all day headaches...so now I am finally switching to another birth control. I would rather not be on one at all considering what it does to my body, but it's that or acne. I would rather take the pill."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "When I first started taking Beyaz, it was great. I had no problems, but towards the end of the cycle, I had a terrible attitude, was very emotional, nauseous, and had too many headaches. Once my period was gone, it came back a day after, and it was light to medium. Very bad cramps. My appetite increased a lot more when I started. But everyone's body is different and would react differently to the pills."

For Acne "I took Yaz for several years and was put on the generic version of this by Sandoz, so I didn’t have to pay for birth control. Honestly, it has been awful. My acne is out of control, like I have never experienced before in my life. My emotions are all over the place, and I feel like I can’t control them. I also experience horrible menstrual pain and headaches. I really wish I could go back on Yaz because it worked much better than the generic version made by Sandoz."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz for 6 days now, and I feel slightly different. Started on the first day of my period. I don't know if it's me, but I've been feeling nauseous on day 5 and a tiny headache here and there. Hope this is just a beginning process. Let's see how it goes. I'm not liking how I feel. Just blah."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "This is my first time on BC, and after researching many different brands, I’m glad I was put on this one. Reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant but decided to give it a try and find out how my own experience would go. The first month was rough. Actually, the first week I noticed an extreme difference in my irritability/anxiety. I would get frustrated and annoyed at the drop of a dime. I would cry for absolutely no reason at all. I also experienced nausea and headaches on a daily basis, but they eventually went away on their own, my body took some time to adjust, but I can say that this form of birth control works well for me. I take it at the same time every day and have had lighter, shorter periods with almost no cramping. Prior to BC, I had heavier periods and days where I couldn’t even get out of bed due to horrible cramps. My advice: don’t focus too much on the reviews. 9/10 times, people will write a NEGATIVE experience as opposed to a positive one."
