Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I went on Beyaz 3 months ago and just finished the third pack. I was noticing that I was always tired, nauseous, bloated, stomach pains, and eating all the time. I too thought I was in the early stages of pregnancy because of these symptoms. I started taking the pill because of horrible period cramps that would make me so sick and incapable of doing anything, it helped. Then I started getting really depressed out of nowhere, feeling sad for no reason, trapped in my own body, and then that led to anxiety attacks and anxiety about when is the next time I will have this terrible feeling again. Because of that and not being able to sleep, I am done with this pill! Thanks to everyone for sharing, I feel comforted to know I wasn't going crazy."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I switched from Yaz to Beyaz because Yaz got too expensive. I decided to try it because I could no longer afford Yaz, and the results were much better than expected. No cramps, nice skin, and my period is always right on time like Yaz, but with a few added benefits. When I was on Yaz, the week before my period, I would always get bloated in the stomach area and would be self-conscious about it. Also, about 4 days before my period, my appetite increased so much that I couldn't stop eating. On Beyaz, there is no bloating, and it curbs my appetite so much that I've lost some weight on it. I also used to get extremely fatigued around my period on Yaz to the point where it was hard to wake up, but on Beyaz, I feel more energetic than ever before."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I have been on Beyaz for 2 months now, I have had problems with other birth controls in the past, such as large amounts of weight gain, moodiness, etc. I haven't had any of these problems with Beyaz. In fact, I haven't gained ANY weight on it! It has helped my PMDD greatly, I went from having cramps that would knock out an elephant to having almost no cramping at all, and I don't get moody or bloated like I have on other birth controls."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I feel wonderful taking Beyaz, but it's not perfect. It really helped with moderate acne, sometimes I would break out on my back and chest. Since taking it, I don't remember when I had a blemish. I have no mood swings, bloating, or weight gain-I'm actually at my lowest weight. The best thing is my sex drive is great. The only minus is my period still varies, sometimes it's heavy, sometimes it's light, and I'm still getting intensive cramps the first day. But honestly, I have no other issues, and I can deal with it."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Acne "I am taking the generic version, which, even with a coupon, is still $55 a month. However, I was willing to pay because of how terribly my body reacts to other “low” tier medications. My first two weeks were normal, however, mid-pack, my skin was horrible. It lasted until about the 2nd pack, when it started to clear up tremendously. I am starting my 4th month, and it has done wonders for my skin. It’s not perfect, but I have only gotten one breakout since the initial “purge,” with other factors playing into it. My weight did not change, but I work out and eat well. The only odd effect I had was at about month 3 when I got my period out of nowhere, and it lasted for about a full week. It was very light, but I was so bloated. I skip the sugar pills and start a new pack always, so I asked my doctor. This is normal if you’re skipping your period with the pill, so be aware that your body will want to have one anyways. Give this a try if you are on the hunt for a good birth control."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "So far, I have been on Beyaz for 4 months and have not had any issues. Acne-wise: I have minimal acne, but I do get hormonal cystic acne, which is painful and bothersome. Since being on Beyaz for the past 4 months, I have not had any huge cystic breakouts before or after my period! So far, so good! Weight gain: Within the first month of taking Beyaz, I didn't have much of an appetite (no changes in diet) and lost maybe about 5-6 lbs in a month, but my body must have gotten used to the pill because I gained that all back within the next month (no changes in diet). Thankful I have not had any of the major side effects such as severe cramping or bloating, swelling of ankles, hair loss (my hair is already thin, so I can't really say if that had an effect or not). So far, so good."

For Birth Control "I switched from Beyaz to this generic form and will be going back to Beyaz. There's something in the ingredients that I'm reacting to. I've gone up a cup size and my boobs swell for no reason... I eat something salty and I'm instantly bloated and my boobs retain water. I can't lose weight. I get emotional before my period (crying, feeling insane anxiety, cramps) and during my period, but like in an unhinged way. I gave it some time (9 months) for my body to get used to the hormones and was hoping my boobs would go back to normal size, but they haven't and I feel fat and emotional. Beyaz is better."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started taking this birth control a while back and then stopped after I completed one cycle. I did have a little weight gain because of the carbohydrate cravings. Breast tenderness and bloating were also a factor. Those were my negatives. The positives for me were age-related. I am over 35 and a non-smoker. Therefore, the extra vitamin B and folic acid supplements are excellent. I did stop taking them after the first trial because of the food cravings. After a few months, I decided to try them again. I am on a weight loss plan and have lost weight. I wasn't significantly overweight from the beginning, but needed to drop about fifteen pounds. I reached my goal. My only real concern at this point is will I have the cravings."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for eight months. My skin is clearer than ever. I have occasional breakthrough bleeding, but it's just spotting, nothing big, no mood swings, but once a month my belly bloats a little bit. Didn't make me gain any weight, though."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I'm about to finish my first pack, and I have mixed reviews. During the first 2 weeks, I was craving sugar like crazy. About the third week, that calmed down, though. I started taking Safyral because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin, and already Safyral has regulated my period to just the week of my placebo pills. My period started late, but that's not a big deal considering this is my first month on this birth control. The most annoying side effect is the bloating. I don't think I've ever felt this bloated, and I NEVER get cramps on my period, but I'm having cramps with this pill. I'm sure these symptoms will calm down as my body gets used to it, if not, I'm switching to something different."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Safyral for 2 months. I like it a lot so far. I have had some breakthrough bleeding, but I think that is because I started the pill in the middle of my cycle when I had an IUD (Mirena) removed after 4 years. My skin looks great. I get mild bloating and breast tenderness just before my period, which goes away with the start of my period. Nothing majorly inconvenient. I think that after a few months of use, when my hormones get back on a normal cycle, things will even out."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Beyaz for about 3 weeks after switching from Yaz due to cost. Now I feel more bloated, depressed, and have experienced weight gain. I have also had headaches. I haven't had a real period in several months since Yaz would just make me have cramping, not actually bleeding. I even have taken tests to ensure I wasn't pregnant because I wasn't bleeding. I'm not sure if the same thing works for Beyaz or not. I just hope my body adapts to this and I start to lose weight again and get energy back."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was concerned about starting Safyral after reading some of the reviews here, but have been pleasantly surprised by how easy my transition onto it has been. I was not on any contraceptive previously, and when I started my Safyral regimen my only side effect was very light spotting for the first month. Not only did I escape mood swings, weight gain, acne, nausea, etc., but my usual menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramps, breakouts) have become almost nonexistent. I am not yet sexually active, so I can't speak to Safyral's effectiveness as a contraceptive, but I've been very happy with it in the meantime."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Safyral has been a great birth control pill for me. I lost water weight from my previous birth control plus some, skin is clear, no unusual mood swings. My only complaints about it are from 2 days before my period until 3 days into it, I get a bit of stomach bloat, and my left ankle tends to get sore and swollen when on my feet too long. Sometimes I crave sweets at certain times of the month. The pill is more expensive, but a great birth control pill. I highly recommend it."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I was put on Safyral two months ago after being on Camrese due to breakthrough bleeding. Safyral definitely took care of that issue, but it came with several others. I now have very painful cramps just before and on my period. My periods last 7 days and are very heavy (which is normal for me off of birth control), and I'm constantly bloated. I also get headaches more than usual and have gained about 4 lbs and cannot lose weight at all. Going tomorrow to hopefully switch to a lower dose again."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "No breakthrough bleeding, felt the best that I ever had, lost weight, and felt like my old self again. So, I started this medicine in April 2012 and am currently on it, and it's October 2012. This will be my last pack. I have experienced nausea, bloating, mood swings, sadness, depression, fatigue, and just don't feel like myself anymore."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for five months now, going on 6. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for years, almost 10, then my body started to reject it. But I loved it. Perfectly timed periods and no side effects whatsoever. My doctor switched me to Natazia. Terrible. I had terrible acne and ridiculous bloating and weight gain all in my stomach area. I work out regularly and eat healthy. My only vice is alcohol. So after three months on that pill, I was switched to Safyral. I get very bloated one week before my period. My period is very heavy. I get bad cramps, although this month they seem to have subsided, as today is the first of my placebo pills and no cramps this month. But I am very bloated. Acne minimum."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on this for about a month, and the first week was great. But then I started to bleed heavily, and it hasn't stopped for two weeks. I've got bad back aches and terrible acne, as well as bloating. I'm looking forward to switching off this and onto Lo Loestrin Fe."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I started this pill about a year ago. I was on a couple of other birth control pills before. This pill made me gain a bunch of weight, frequent breast pain, and horrible cramps. My emotions are always out of control. I eat healthy and work out at least three days a week and shouldn't be gaining all of this weight. The bloating when on my period has gotten dramatically worse. I would recommend not taking this pill. I am in the process of getting a different pill."

For Birth Control "The first 3 and a half months were rough! For starters, I had a pretty regular period prior to the pill, slight PMS, slight cramping and breast tenderness, normal to light periods, 1-2 pimples before my period, etc. I just chose this pill because most people said they didn’t gain weight. The first 3 months I experienced extreme change of moods, extreme nausea, uncomfortable bloating, and constipation. Worst part of it all? Really dark thoughts (never, ever, ever experienced this prior to these pills). I’m going into month 5, and most of these symptoms have subsided or have lessened. I will definitely discontinue use if dark thoughts continue anytime something major happens."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for two years. I switched to this from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I was having breakthrough bleeding. One month into it, I was having terrible cystic acne, two months into it, I had a severe panic attack. Two years later, I am incredibly depressed and bloated before my period, along with crazy migraines for 3-4 days straight. I am unable to lose weight even with running 4 miles a day. I am switching to Lo Loestrin 24 Fe and will try a lower-dosed pill. I have also experienced terrible leg cramps and fatigue like never before."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Safyral for years. I'm in my forties. In my 20s, I had major cramps, bloating, cysts, heavy periods, and severe mood swings. The mood swings included me crying at commercials, yelling, and snapping at the smallest thing. I was so not myself the week before, during, and a few days after my period. I was then diagnosed with PMDD and put on Yaz; it was a life changer. No mood swings or heavy periods. Then my doctor recommended I move to Safyral after reported issues with blood clots while on Yaz. It was an easy transition, and even better, I don't get a period at all. I would recommend if you don't have mood swings, depression, or changes in your behavior during or before your period, this may not be the pill for you. The good thing about pills is you can always try, and if it doesn't work for you, stop taking it; not like the shots where you're stuck for three months. Talk with your doctor and really list your symptoms and work together to make the right decision on your pill."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "For 4 years I was on Yaz. I stopped when I got pregnant and waited over a year to get back on the pill. I couldn't handle even general PMS: bloating, cramping, achy body, emotional roller coaster, breakouts, not to mention feeling tired and irritable. So I went to my OB-GYN to get back on Yaz, but she prescribed Beyaz instead."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I am 27 years old and started taking Beyaz a few months ago. I was extremely hesitant about taking this because I was so, -SO- afraid of gaining weight. I have taken other pills in the past that have caused weight gain, nausea, bloating, etc., but this pill has proven me wrong, I have had no side effects. It's actually a bit shocking. I'm so glad my doctor recommended this to me."
