For Muscle Spasm "I take this because I have pain in my lower back, especially after exercising. I have arthritis, and while it does take care of the pain (which is amazing), it makes me so sleepy and groggy. I was started at 10 mg at bedtime, and that was too strong for me. I only take this when I have a flare, which happens once every couple of months. I split it in half now, I still feel sleepy but better than the first time. It takes me a day to recover from the effects of this drug, so I plan accordingly. Cannot drive the next day after taking it."

For Muscle Spasm "I just started taking this yesterday for muscle spasms in my lower back. First dose at 12:30 pm, I could feel my arms relaxing, and I became very tired. My back still hurt. Struggled to stay awake. Took the 2nd dose at 8:30 pm. Fell asleep almost immediately. Restless sleep. Woke up tired and cranky. I have a horrible headache and still feel groggy at 2:30 pm. I still have muscle spasms in my back."

Cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica "Flexeril makes me so drowsy that I fall asleep before I can feel actual relief of pain, and then I miss out on everything. The only good thing is that it relaxes me so that I'm not tense."

Cyclobenzaprine "As with many other people (apparently), I was given Flexeril as a pain management tool for my KFS. I believe this is because opioids are so addictive. I was on Flexeril when I was in my late 30s and had no issues, but now that I am in my 60s, I've been waking up as much as 12 hours after taking Flexeril and have a terrible time keeping my eyes open. I also still feel like I am moving unsteadily as if the muscle-relaxing medication is still affecting my muscles. It works very well, relaxing my muscles and helping me sleep through the night, but for hours after waking, I still don't feel safe to drive. I only take it when the pain is unbearable, so it's not an issue all the time, but it is debilitating much of the following day. I am a small woman, so I only take one tablet at a time."
