For Chlamydia Infection "I was prescribed 2 azithromycin pills to cure my chlamydia. I took the two pills together, followed by water, and at least 15 mins later, I started to feel nauseous. So I laid down, however, I felt like that was only making it worse. So I sat up, the nausea went away, but then I started to get stomach cramps through the lower part of my stomach. I’m now having diarrhea and a slight headache. I’m going to continue staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water, hopefully, it’ll help. I’m just glad I was able to get the pills to get this over with. Considering everything, I don’t mind the side effects as long as I’m cured."

For Chlamydia Infection "So I found out I had this (like everyone else on here). I had eaten pretty well through the day (fried food though). I got a shot on the right side of my buttocks and felt nothing. I went to CVS pharmacy to get the two pills, 500 mg (must take both at the same time equaling 1000 mg!). I didn’t feel much until (even managed to cook some spaghetti). HOWEVER, about 2 hours later, I felt funny, got hot as anything, had nausea, laid down, mouth formed with saliva, then it hit me like a rocket. I was like, 'OMG, you gotta run to the bathroom!' Thankfully, no one was in there as I sure did poop a lot - like never before, and then it was coming out like pee. I got scared in fear I might get dehydrated. After all the pooping, I felt a little stronger, so I took a shower and washed my hair. Now I’m lying in bed scared to eat the spaghetti I cooked due to the extreme diarrhea. Scary, lmao. Definitely wrapping it up from now on!!! Not worth the stomach cramps, pains, and diarrhea."

For Chlamydia Infection "Second time having chlamydia and absolutely the last! First time round I suffered from terrible diarrhea, to the point where I actually couldn't hold it in (how embarrassing). Now it has been around 3 hours, and I have a mild stomach ache, and I feel sleepy. The drug is effective, as I already know, but the side effects are a pain. Couldn't stress enough to just have protected sex, none of this is worth it, and boys can and will lie! Stay safe."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the treatment this morning, 4 pills at 10:30, played sports straight after till 1 pm, felt absolutely fine, then came home, and at 5:30, started feeling really ill, and ten minutes after, started vomiting and had diarrhea. It's 6:30 and still hasn't stopped. Will I need to go back and take it all again?"

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "I was experiencing a tension headache off and on for close to two weeks. I suspected I had a sinus infection and went to the ER because I couldn’t get in to see my PCP for weeks. I took the Z-Pak as prescribed (my last dose was last Thursday). I still feel like I have a sinus headache in addition to dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, and anxiety. I felt worse after taking it, I ended up back in the ER and was told they didn’t find a sinus infection at all, and I need to follow up with a neurologist because they couldn’t find anything on the CT that could cause the headaches either! I had a horrible reaction to a medication last year (Lexapro), which increased my anxiety symptoms. I have been in therapy and doing well with no panic attacks in months. I feel like I possibly set myself back taking the Z-Pak. It was my first and last time taking it, I never experienced these side effects taking Amoxicillin. I had to take time off from work to recoup, I want this out of my system as quickly as possible!!"

For Chlamydia Infection "Doctors told me I had a yeast infection that medicine didn’t work, then, come to find out, I have chlamydia. My doctors gave me 2 pills (azithromycin). I took them, and 2 hours later, I was getting ready for bed after eating a salad, feeling great, then here come these weird pains in my stomach. I couldn’t sleep, so I started watching TV, then, boom! I’m running to the bathroom full speed because it felt like I was going to use it on myself. Now, as I type this, I am stuck on the toilet with bad diarrhea."

For Sinusitis "Had a severe sinus infection that was getting worse over a week, and the doc prescribed me a 5-day, 6-pill Z-pack of 250 mg azithromycin and 10 mg prednisone; 40 mg for two days, 30 mg for two days, 20 mg for two days, 10 mg for two days, and last 5 mg for 3 days. So far, this cocktail of drugs has made a vast improvement in only a few days! No known side effects at this time. Had loose stool, very little appetite, and a very bad time sleeping before I started taking both drugs. If I had to pick one that's most prominent, I would say loose stool. If you tend to be gassy, wear a diaper just in case."

For Chlamydia Infection "I tested positive for Chlamydia, and I had BV at the same time. I thought that I had diarrhea because of taking two antibiotics at once, but I think it's the azithromycin that caused the waterfall out of my booty hole. My doctor didn't tell me to take it with a meal or about the side effects. I was in public when the diarrhea happened, and luckily it only lasted for 15 minutes. I never want to have to take this medicine again. I'm making my future partners get tested with me before any intercourse. I wish I would have looked at this website before I took this, lol. I paid $34 for two pills, and I didn't use insurance because I didn't want my parents to know. I feel like somehow it might have come up on the bill, idk, I just didn't want to take any chances."

For Bronchitis "I had been coughing for 2 weeks straight really badly. I called my doctor to get a check-up, and she prescribed me the 5-day dosage: 2 the first day and then 1 for the next 4. By the 5th day, my cough was still there, and I had gotten the runs. This medicine was a waste of my time."

For Chlamydia Infection "Doctor called and told me I had chlamydia today. I just got four pills of Azithromycin and took them all an hour ago. As I was driving home, I had to vomit ASAP! Pulled over on the highway and was sick for 15 mins. Now my stomach is in a lot of pain and diarrhea."

For Bronchitis "My OB/GYN (I'm pregnant) prescribed Z-pack at the beginning of my cold and cough, but I was trying to avoid antibiotics even though this one is safe for pregnancy. I went to the ER because I couldn't stop coughing at all, my abdominals were sore and everything. The doctor said I had acute bronchitis, and 90% of bronchitis is viral, so he didn't think Z-pack would help and gave me an albuterol inhaler. After no sleep for 2 nights, I took Z-pack and immediately felt better! There are Z-pack pills that have a pink outer layer on them, these have less effect on your stomach. I have taken both the plain white ones and the pink ones, the pink only made me sleepy, the whites always give me diarrhea on the first dose. I think there is a difference between them."

For Chlamydia Infection "Two hours after taking these, I started to feel like garbage. My stomach felt extremely gassy, which caused me to be in the toilet for a good 30 mins with diarrhea. It was like a faucet was turned on and my bowels let loose. Afterwards, I started to feel a lot better. I mean, I can't complain about the symptoms because at least chlamydia is curable. Rather go through this and be cured."

For Chlamydia Infection "For chlamydia, basically you’ll get some form of azithromycin 1000 mg, either in 2 or 4 pills. Usually, it’s a single dose, but it depends on what your provider thinks is best. Eat before you take it, you don’t have to, but it will help with stomach pain. You’ll either have intense nausea and feel like throwing up, or your stomach will start acting crazy, and you’ll probably take a watery poop. Other than that, some hours later or maybe even the next day, you will be fine as far as side effects. As far as symptoms, I took mine 2 days ago. I still feel slight symptoms when I pee, but it’s not as profound as before. I guess it hasn’t fully kicked in yet, but if by day 5 I'm not feeling better, I’ll begin to worry. They say it takes about 7 days for the antibiotic to fully work and to get retested in 3 months. Stuff that, I plan to get retested exactly 3 weeks after my initial treatment just to be safe. Simply put, it’s not as bad as it seems, you’ll more than likely be cured even if it takes multiple doses."

For Chlamydia Infection "I was having a sharp burning sensation when I peed to the point where I dreaded going to the bathroom. A doctor visit later, I had two 500 mg pills. I took them on an empty stomach, ate pizza for lunch, and within a couple of hours, I found myself in the bathroom with a very urgent need-to-go-now diarrhea. A few bouts with that over the next 24 hours or so, as well as having slight vision abnormalities while driving (kind of fuzzy, probably extremely dehydrated from the restroom trips), I was feeling pretty normal. The burning sensation subsided over the next week, slowly but surely. Looking back, I was uncomfortable for a day or so after taking the meds, but I can pee without wanting to jump out of my skin now. 10/10."

For Chlamydia Infection "Got a positive test result text, went to get treatment that same afternoon with my partner. Both given 4 azithromycin tablets (1000 mg) to take at once. Since taking them, both of us have had nausea, stomach cramps, stomachs making funny gurgling noises, and diarrhea. This started roughly 2 hours after taking. Hoping they will pass soon. Feeling sick is the worst :("

For Chlamydia Infection "Took 4 of the 250 mg. I'm 32 weeks pregnant. First time ever with an STD. I felt horrible, nauseated, vomiting, diarrhea, lightheaded, weak, cramps, and sleepy all at once. It's the next day now, I'm still having diarrhea, but I'm eating. Hopefully, it's all out of my system. I don't ever want to go through this again, this sucks."

For Chlamydia Infection "Went to the clinic today, and my dr gave me 2 pills (500 mg a piece) to take there. So I did, felt fine until a couple of hours later, then sick to my stomach on and off, and very sleepy. I find that laying in my bed relieves the symptoms for the most part. I have had a few trips to the bathroom with loose stools, but not too bad. My advice: definitely take this in the comfort of your home, where you can get plenty of rest. Hope I feel better tomorrow. And keep in mind that unprotected sex really isn't worth it, it could have been something much, much worse! Always wrap it up!"

"I just wanted to share my recent experience with the antibiotic. After reading these reviews, I got horrified and did not want to take it and ended up having a very bad panic attack. All I can say is just relax, have a meal beforehand, and just try to have a good mindset. After my panic attack, I was fine, and the only side effect I had was diarrhea the next morning. Don’t let these reviews scare you as much as they did me. You’ll be okay!"

For Chlamydia Infection "I took 8! Yes, 8 250 mg pills in one single dose. I took them at 9:30 pm tonight on an empty stomach (I had a hard time eating due to stress). It's now 12:30 am, and I've had watery diarrhea, dizziness, nausea, and hot flashes since 11:30. It seems to be subsiding. Fingers crossed!"

For Chlamydia Infection "Do not be scared to take this medication! I was like most people who were reading these comments, and my anxiety was going crazy just thinking about the side effects! I had a bad experience years ago with the powder form, I ended up throwing up, but this time I was positive for Chlamydia, and the doctor prescribed two 500 mg tablets along with an anti-nausea pill to take beforehand. I ate a good-sized meal for dinner, then after 30 minutes, I took the anti-nausea pill, then waited about 45 minutes to take both 500 mg pills. Then, like after 15 minutes, I got really sleepy and took a nap. I woke up a couple of hours later with a minor stomach ache and had a loose bowel motion, and after that, I went back to sleep and felt completely fine! Just ask the doctor for the anti-nausea pill just to be on the safe side and make sure you have some food in your system, you will be fine."

For Chlamydia Infection "I started a new relationship with my current boyfriend, and I felt something not right after having unprotected sex with him the first time. I went to get tested, and unfortunately, it came back positive. They gave me 2 500 mg pink pills. I was so sick to my stomach that time... so nauseous with diarrhea. So did he. But we didn't wait long enough to have sex and got it one more time. Took it again last night around 10 pm and woke up that day (7:45 am) with bad stomach pain, nauseous and diarrhea-so did my boyfriend. So please wait to have sex again! Better to take it once and have the pain/diarrhea than to double take it for not waiting."

Azithromycin for Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "It worked fast, and I felt better after four days, but my side effects were diarrhea two hours after each dose and itchy skin with a rash. Now, two weeks after finishing the prescription, I have an infection in my mouth and throat -- oral yeast infection or thrush is listed as a side effect."

For Chlamydia Infection "Being that I was 18 and this was my first time being told I had an STD, I was obviously freaking out, so I had gone online and read all the possible side effects of taking this medicine and absolutely scared myself to death. I took the pills at around 4:00 pm and didn't feel anything until around 6 when I began to get extremely nauseous. I paced back and forth for about an hour and it subsided. I never got any sharp pains, but I did have diarrhea for about an hour, but all in all I had a great experience with this medicine!!"

For Bronchitis "I have had bronchitis for 3 weeks, I’m completely finished taking the 5-day Z-Pack (azithromycin). Although most of my other symptoms have subsided, I’m still very sick with a deep, painful cough, dry, itchy, and raw throat. The side effects for me were awful. I had severe diarrhea, stomach cramps, and sweating profusely. Now I’m probably going to have to go back in and see what I have to do. This antibiotic was definitely not helpful for me. Perhaps if it was taken with another medication or steroid, it would have helped."
