Azithromycin for Bronchitis "My bronchitis was so severe that the only way I would be able to board my flight to South America in 3 days was with the Z-Pack. I took 2 pills right at the doctor's office and headed back to the office. I was in complete disbelief when, within 3 hours of taking the first 2 pills, my overall condition had improved tremendously. I am glad that I didn't experience any adverse symptoms while on it, but I know of some people that unfortunately are not able to take this medication."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took 2 500 mg tablets a few hours ago. Chronic stomach and lower back pain. Very nauseous, trying my very hardest not to throw up. Make sure you eat before this medication. It is very strong and temporarily weakens you. Fingers crossed it works."

For Pneumonia "After what started out as 'hay fever' and quickly escalated into a head cold, then severe lung infection, including shortness of breath and the inability to expel the phlegm, I went to urgent care. They prescribed azithromycin (500 mg followed by 4 doses of 250 mg). It took 3 days before I started to feel relief. I was feeling very skeptical until I got up this morning. With only one more day’s worth of the medicine, I can honestly say I think this stuff is great."

For Pneumonia "After feeling lousy for months, I had very bad pain that made me go to the ER! Because of the pain and location, I was given x-rays and found no broken ribs. There was a 'spot' on my lung, and I was given an anti-inflammatory along with pain meds via IV. Before leaving, I was given 500 mg of Azithromycin, and 2 days later, I feel better than I have in months! Guess I had walking pneumonia and praise the ER doctor for knowing what to prescribe (regular antibiotics and penicillin will not touch this). I was sent home and told to have a repeat x-ray in 4 days! Never had any side effects from this medication (guess I was given the child's dosage because of my weight), so that may be why I had no side effects! Needless to say, I have nothing but good things to say about this drug and my doctors!"

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "I was prescribed azithromycin for tonsillitis/pharyngitis. On day 4 with the Z-Pak and still can't eat, can't even swallow my own saliva without being afraid it will hurt. This medication is completely useless, my swelling hasn't gone down, and the pus pockets are now on the right side of my throat. I am in so much pain, haven't eaten for 4 days."

For Middle Ear Infections "I am allergic to penicillin, so Zithromax is the alternative before getting into the heavy stuff like Cipro and Levaquin. I have been taking Zithromax for years and always get relief around day 3. The loose stools are normal, it means Zithromax is working and the bacteria is being flushed out of your system."

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "I had to share my experience after seeing all of the negative reviews. I had to take Z-Pak for an abscessed tooth before a root canal procedure. I was freaked because of all the reviews I read, which were negative. I am sensitive to meds (which is why I read reviews for Z-Pak). I had 0 side effects, no nausea, nothing. Just maybe feeling hungry, but not really. If that makes sense. Took the full dose. 2 on the first day, then 4 the next 4 days. I would take it again, if needed. I am allergic to the cillins and had more side effects from when I would be prescribed erythromycin. Everyone is different with meds, but this did not give me a horrible experience."

For Chlamydia Infection "Worst experience ever. Do not take it before bed if you want to sleep. Took 2x500 mg azithromycin pills at 9 pm. At 11 pm had worst cramps, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and diarrhea 3 times. Managed to fall asleep at 1 am. Suffering was horrible. Please use condoms and don't trust any guy that says he was tested. What everyone says is true and worse."

For Bronchitis "I have used this numerous times for both bronchitis and sinusitis, and it has always worked great for me. The 5-day Z-pack is great. I don't have to take a pill for 14 days, and that is awesome. Every time I have taken it, I have experienced stomach pain on the first day, but each day following it, no problems. This medicine is awesome, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants fast and effective relief!!"

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "I was prescribed and took the Azithromycin pack (Z Pack) when I came down with an acute case of bronchitis. It was the traditional 2 pills at the first dose, and then 1 pill each following day. I started to feel a noticeable improvement by day 3, and was nearly completely better 7-8 days later. The medicine definitely worked for me, however, the side effects were strongly unpleasant. I had severe stomach pains, along with diarrhea, even when I did take the pills with food. Since the pills work for 10 days, I had the side effects for that long too. Overall though, I'm happy I took the Z Pack and it helped cure me quickly."

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "I'm only on day 2, and Z-Pak has worked wonders. I have taken it with food, and with a pretty healthy system, I have had no side effects. I have a bacterial infection in my gums causing the tissue to swell over a tooth, which caused the pain to be unbearable, but after a couple of these pills, I can already see the difference. Things feel better, and the infection is clearing."

For Sinusitis "Have had a sinus infection for 11 months... tried all types of antibiotics and they would help a little but right back to the same stuff. Major congestion, hard phlegm, trouble breathing, etc. Took azithromycin, day 1, was able to breathe through my nose again. Loosened up all mucus. Day 2 felt like a new person."

Azithromycin for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Waited 10 days to go to the doctor, thinking I had bronchitis! I wish I would’ve gone to the doctor sooner because I was miserable, coughing my head off with phlegm, terrible headaches, fatigue, congestion, and sweats. I ended up having an upper respiratory infection and was given a Z-pack. After day one, I felt soooo much better and was ready to go back to work. I am on day 4 and still coughing up infection, hoping that ends soon! Also, every day after I take the pill, I get some pretty bad abdominal pain and have to run to the bathroom, but only lasting about an hour. I would say the stomach ache is definitely worth it!"

For Chlamydia Infection "I found out I had chlamydia after I was sexually assaulted. The first thing I did was read these reviews. I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT!!! I have a phobia of being ill, even the slightest headache or tummy ache and I'm having panic attacks! Anyway, I was prescribed four 250 mg tablets and was told to take them all at once, so I ate some toast and had a cup of tea just to line my stomach at around 10 a.m. Felt sick just taking them due to the reviews. Took all four tablets around 10:30 a.m. and waited for the inevitable, but nevertheless, two days later, I had NO SYMPTOMS. Very, very slight nausea about half an hour after taking them, but wouldn't even call it nausea, just the feeling as if you've eaten a bit too much! Nausea from anxiety is way worse than what I experienced with these tablets. Don't scare yourself with the reviews, some of the people on here just had very unfortunate reactions! But it's not the same for everybody."

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "Unbelievable! I was sick for almost 9 days with a horrible, horrible feeling inside of my body and then up all night with dry coughs, and I was just really run down, and I even had to take a day off of work. I went into my doctor just for a regular yearly checkup, and they ran blood tests and found my white blood count to be high when I was getting checked for something else. When he called me back, he told me that he was going to put a Z-Pack in for me. I felt better 5 hours after taking a Z-Pack, I literally had no cough, and my body felt back to normal, and I can tell you that it hasn't even been 24 hours and I feel 80% better! It was seriously like the best night's rest I've had in 5 days, my cough immediately went away. I think one of the best things also is the fact that it doesn't interact with my thyroid medication. I'm so happy about this, so I'm going to call and let him know today!"

For Chlamydia Infection "First time ever having an STI, short story short, thought me and the guy were exclusive. Ahh, how wrong was I! Anyways, I went to my GP today after he told me he tested positive. Took Azithromycin, two tablets at once at about 5 o'clock, and an hour later my stomach made me feel like I'm gonna hurl, but I'm trying my best to not throw up because I am not going through this again. 7/10 for me. At the end of the day, it gets rid of this horrible bacteria living in my vaj. Just take it while you're at home because I feel like the devil is trying to dance in my stomach. Good luck, guys! I'm gonna go lie down and abstain from sex till I'm 30."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Woke up the other morning in tears, not able to breathe. I did two breathing treatments and still very little relief. Went to the ER and was prescribed this, and I kid you not, by the next morning after taking the 6, I felt 100% better. I am choking on a lot of mucus, but I guess that's because it's being broken up now. This is the greatest medication I have taken in a while. It truly worked wonders. My hands are very itchy, but I don't even care! I can breathe!!"

For Middle Ear Infections "Horrible experience. I was prescribed azithromycin for an 'ear infection.' When I took the first dose, I was fine until 2 hours later. I started to experience fatigue, headache, rapid heartbeat, and by the second day, I'm now experiencing ringing in both ears. This is horrible. Does anybody experience that in their ears? If so, how long did it go away? I'm so scared to go deaf."

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "I was prescribed a five-day round with the Z-Pak after developing a severe flu-like upper respiratory infection with stuffed and painful sinuses plus aches, sore throat, diarrhea, muscle pain, nausea, and more. I had a Rituxan infusion, and all of this started the next day (common side effects or adverse events). I have rheumatoid arthritis, and my immune system is screwed to begin with, and the Rituxan infusions temporarily make it worse. So I picked up a bug; bam! Long story, short ending. The Z-Pak began working almost immediately, and two hours after my second pill of 250 mg (first was 500), I don't feel sick. My sinuses are still a bit clogged, but that's livable. I'm impressed."

For Bronchitis "I've been in the throes of bronchitis this week. Started with my throat so sore I couldn't even swallow water and traveled quickly into my chest with that cough that is so painful. Now I'm very stomach intolerant of antibiotics, but this time I just didn't care. I would have done anything to feel better. My doctor gave me the Z-Pak yesterday, and within hours of taking the day 1 two-pill dose, I began to feel better. My fever broke overnight, and this morning I feel 80% better. The only drawback is that now that I've been telling my husband how great I feel today, I probably will have to actually do some housework. Thanks, Z-Pak! You kicked my bronchitis's butt!"

For Bronchitis "I had developed bronchitis due to allergy-induced asthma. I was having major trouble breathing just walking up stairs, and I'm a 30-year-old normally super healthy person. I have taken azithromycin two times now, and both times the medication kicks in fast with no side effects! Love this antibiotic!"

For Sinusitis "Had sinus infections most of my life. Prescribed for the first sinus infection 20 years ago and just ended a 6-week infection with 5 days of 500 mg. They've tried about every other antibiotic alternative for fear long-term exposure to azithro could decrease effectiveness. Other antibiotics, air purifiers, nasal wash systems, sprays, antihistamines... nothing else works for my sinuses. The only side effect I get is increased appetite. Still, azithro is the only thing that works for me 20 years!"

For Bronchitis "If you have asthma and start to feel bronchitis coming on, get Z-pack and prednisone. That is a magical combo for asthmatic bronchitis. The antibiotics are usually only needed for those of us with lung disease or where bronchitis still lingers after a week."

For Sinusitis "I got a sinus infection for the first time in my life, and when it didn't go away, I was given Augmentin - it barely helped. Went back to the ENT, and he gave me cephalexin. Not much improvement. Then he gave me Cipro. I gave up. My quality of life was so much lower. I couldn't smell. I had to sleep elevated. I never imagined how bad a sinus infection was, especially chronic. Then a dentist gave me a Z pack on the recommendation of a friend. Within days, I was a new woman. I could smell! I could breathe. I was so grateful."

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "This azithromycin antibiotic is the best! I’m a first-grade teacher and seem to get sick easily, even with homeopathic medicines and extreme hygienic practices. It starts with a sore throat, then congestion in the nose and throat. Excessive phlegm development and coughing. I try OTC first-NyQuil, Mucinex, and Vick’s rub-but the 5-day azithromycin Z pack always gets rid of it! I worry about being on it now 2x a year, but I heard it is less harmful or strong than others, so it’s safe."
