For Pneumonia "People, azithromycin not only kills the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria in your gut and intestinal tract, which immediately causes flaming diarrhea! You must get a potent probiotic to take along with the med. The one that works great for me has acidophilus in it. Relieves the problem almost immediately. I don’t know why the HECK doctors don’t mention this!"

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "Sinusitis was so bad that my teeth even hurt. Now on day 2 of azithromycin, pain about 80% resolved. Absolutely no side effects. Have taken azithromycin in the past for sinusitis and consistently note resolution prior to completion of 5-day pack."

For Bronchitis "Took the 6-pack after two weeks of suffering from bronchitis. After the first dose of two pills, I slept soundly for a long time and felt maybe 90% better. Now finished all 6 pills. Feeling so much better but still cough at times. I was told the medication will stay in the body for 5 days after finishing. So maybe in five more days this thing will be finally gone."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "I've used this medication in the past and now recently for a bad throat infection. I was given the 5-day pack. After the first day (2 tablets), I started to feel better, and slowly it's been improving every day. I did experience bad stomach side effects, diarrhea mainly, but I expected that since I wasn't eating well because of the throat infection. I took my last tablet today, and I hope that it's gone, but the symptoms have definitely improved. If you do get an upset stomach, try to take it with food. Good medication all in all, though."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Several bouts of bronchitis and walking pneumonia over the years. I was born premature and had lung issues as an infant. I do not smoke. I am healthy. The Z-Pack (250 mg) works almost immediately for me. The first day I take two, then one per day for the next four days. I am on Day 2 and already am feeling better!"

For Pneumonia "Diagnosed with pneumonia, had no real cough, just very tired and a little short of breath sometimes. I took the first dose, terrified after reading all the stuff in here, but manned up and took it. I started to cough stuff up out of my lungs within a couple of hours. It did cause a rapid heart rate, that kind of freaked me out, but still coughing up and clearing those lungs out. I am hoping to be 100% soon."

For Bronchitis "I went to a baseball game and was severely chilled. Thought I had a bad cold/allergies, which turned into a bronchial infection. After 48 hours of continual coughing, I called the doctor. The on-call physician prescribed the Z-pack. It's been 8 hours, and I'm feeling much better. I've got thyroiditis and cannot take decongestants and over-the-counter medicines. While I know we try to not take antibiotics in order to avoid resistance, I think it is worth getting an antibiotic instead of allowing your resistance to get so low that recovery will take longer and weaken your system."

For Bronchitis "I, too, get bronchitis every year when the weather changes, and I swear by Z-packs. It is also wonderful for strep throat. Yes, diarrhea is a side effect of nearly all antibiotics, but I tell you, I'd rather perch on the toilet than cough until I bust blood vessels in my eyes."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I came back from the U.K. with a terrible chest cold. I spent the first week drinking tons of water and hot tea and lounging on the couch with a heating pad on my chest. I finally went to the doctor who took a chest x-ray to make sure there was no pneumonia or bronchitis. He prescribed Tussionex cough medicine, which worked great on the cough and helped me sleep like a baby. After two days, the cold worked its way up into my throat and ear canals, and I lost my voice. Called the doctor back who prescribed azithromycin. After 1 day, I was feeling much better, but still not quite myself. After 2 days, I was able to function almost normally. I've taken the 3rd dose today and am hopeful that I will be even better today."

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "Severe anxiety and nervousness, horrible diarrhea, awful stomach ache, intense nausea, freaky nightmare, horrific headache. I only took 2 pills, they were 250 mg apiece. Don't recommend whatsoever. Now I'm feeling like death, wondering when the effects will wear off."

For Pneumonia "I had to write this review because everyone else's reviews freaked me out so much before taking this antibiotic. I have a very sensitive stomach, and if there is a side effect to a medication, I usually get it. I took this with food, and I had no problems at all. No nausea, no stomach pains, no diarrhea, no hives, nothing. The only reason I didn't give this antibiotic ten stars is that I was hoping to feel better at this point. I just took my last dose, and I definitely feel better, but I still have a ways to go. All in all, I would recommend this antibiotic and do not be so afraid of the other reviews. Take with food, and you will be fine."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "For about 10 days now, I had a very bad cough and severe congestion in my lungs (coughing so much that I thought I was going to actually break a rib). I went to my local emergency room, where the attending doctor sent me home with a 'Z Pack' (5-day regimen of the Zithromax, plus a bottle of guaifenesin cough syrup). I'm now on my third day of these antibiotics and am not, thankfully, coughing as much as I did."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "This was the wonder pill for me. I was prescribed this alongside a steroid pack and told to take 3-4 regular ibuprofens for the pain in my throat. Let me say, it was VERY severe; I couldn't swallow much, hadn't eaten. I woke up the next day with NO fever and much less swelling and pain. This is my second day on this antibiotic."

For Sinusitis "After 5 days of terrible dry, hacking cough, causing chest muscles to be sore and being unable to function, I went to the Dr., and he prescribed the Z Pak. On day 2, I see results. It is loosening up all the congestion. I am finally a little better. I have a ways to go, but I do see good results. When I talked to the pharmacist, he suggested eating something light before taking, even though you can take it on an empty stomach. He said some get upset stomach after taking, so I took his advice and am having no problems. I tried Mucinex before seeing the Dr., but got no results this time. Glad I went in for a checkup."

Azithromycin for Middle Ear Infections "Had strep throat and double ear infection, including one ruptured eardrum. I was so sick, but after 24 hours on Z-Pak, there was a major turnaround, with 80% recovery within 48 hours. It was much faster and more effective than Amoxicillin or similar."

For Chlamydia Infection "Do NOT be scared to take this medicine. I was reading these reviews for over a week, tearing myself up over taking this, and I am someone who is deathly afraid of taking new medications. And what happened when I took the azithromycin? Nothing. Nothing happened. Not one side effect. Take it with food. It does not matter what food you take it with, I took it an hour after I had junk food. And take it before you go to sleep and don’t overthink it. It is like you took ibuprofen. Now I just have to hope it gets rid of the infection."

For Bronchitis "It started a month ago when I developed a cold, and it went into a bad cough. It was scary, and then I lost my voice. My doctor prescribed azithromycin. I decided to look at the reviews, and I thought, yikes, I'm not taking this. One person said the side effects were worse than the illness. Three weeks later, I got rid of my cold only to get it back one week later, but this time the cough turned into bronchitis. Now that cough scared me so bad I decided to look at the positive reviews. One woman said you have to try it first, and I did, and wow, three days on the medicine, my cough is almost gone. Side effects: sore stomach for a few minutes after taking it, mild headache. Compared to that cough, I have nothing to complain about. Life is good again :)"

For Pneumonia "So, I had walking pneumonia for a little while and didn't know. No symptoms. Then I got chest pain, went to the ER, they sent me to the asthma room, and the albuterol treatments (all 3) only made my chest feel tighter. So, they put me on the oxygen and I instantly felt better. They decided to try albuterol again, and I stopped breathing. I was immediately intubated and ended up with a collapsed lung. Found out I had an asthma attack while having pneumonia. I was in the ICU, most of my meds were given intravenously, so I wasn't aware much of what I was given until I was released. The zithromax is great, I feel better already. But even eating, I have burning diarrhea. I'm fine with it. I'd rather survive than complain about poop."

For Chlamydia Infection "Free treatment in Australia, two 500 mg pills and I'm done. Blasting out my arse for a couple of hours, but damn I'd have to say it's a pretty sweet deal, free treatment and a couple of hours of pooping and I'm cured! Guys, it's a cure for the clap, let's get some perspective and stop complaining."

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "I have just started taking the Z-Pak a few days ago and am already starting to feel a lot better! I have sinusitis, an earache that was caused by a middle ear infection, and so far, the pains are a lot more tolerable! Thank you, Z-Pak!"

For Sinusitis "My symptoms of sinusitis grew rapidly over 24 hours before taking this antibiotic. I started out with allergy symptoms, only on my left side. Eight hours into it, I had a pounding headache, and my face and nose hurt really bad. I suffer from anxiety and had a bad experience last year while taking over-the-counter cold/allergy meds, so this year I was definitely not going to medicate myself up and decided to go to the doctor. My doctor's visit was on the second day of being sick, and I was full-blown with what I thought had turned into the flu. Coughing was mild and mostly because I was dizzy, so I felt nauseous and would cough. Chills, sweats, shakes, worst headache ever, nose and face hurt so bad. Took 2 pills, felt better in 5 hours."

For Bronchitis "Worst flu I have ever had that turned into bronchitis. Doctor prescribed this - two tabs the first day and then 1 a day for four days. On my third day, an incredible difference - no more scary cough. I had no side effects, but it sounds like some people do."

For Bronchitis "It's useful to have azithromycin along with steroids (Deltasolone) too (for those with asthma). I have found when prescribed only azithromycin on its own, it wasn't sufficient. Seemed to need the boost of steroids alongside the antibiotic for a few days to help kick the extended cough. The lungs are too inefficient to remove the mucus effectively. Many doctors seem to not know about this. After years of travel, I discovered this from a doctor in Malaysia who also had asthma - so understood how colds and infections are so difficult for an asthmatic to recover from."

For Chlamydia Infection "Yep. Got the positive and took the prescription as soon as I could after getting it from the pharmacy. I ate a little before, but ate my lunch after taking it. Exactly 2 hours later, everything hit me like a wall. Stomach cramps, dizziness, nausea, and the dreadful stomach bubbles. Currently in bed waiting for it all to subside. Hopefully, this will work."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I am on day 4 of the 5-day treatment, and the only thing that is happening is that I'm getting sicker by the day. I went back to the doctor on day 3 and said that it was getting worse (can barely swallow my own saliva), and he said that it takes the full 5 days, maybe even 6, to work. This is definitely NOT the antibiotic for me. Just wanted to share in case someone else is getting this run-around. I have to get some different antibiotics because apparently I am 100% immune to this kind."
