For Osteoarthritis "Had injection in both knees. The right is doing well, able to bend without difficulty. The left is in so much pain and discomfort, cannot walk on it or bend it without pain. Going to the bathroom is discomfortable. The injection of fluid was so painful, screamed and not able to walk for a while afterwards. It is 24 hours after injection and think a replacement would have been better. The insert states no weight-bearing or walking for more than an hour at a time, definitely follow that, and ice helps to numb the pain. Finding a comfortable position is very difficult as well."

For Osteoarthritis "Had the injections in both knees on 10/4, and was barely able to walk a day or two later, it was so painful and inflamed. I was icing and living on Tylenol and ibuprofen. Called the doctor after several days, and he gave me a 5-day pack of prednisone, which took away the inflammation. It has now been 6 weeks, and I don’t feel as if they worked, my knees are worse than prior to the injections. My insurance approved Monovisc, so I have no idea why the doctor changed... worse experience with my knees ever. I would not recommend."

For Osteoarthritis "Six weeks since first injections in both knees. Have arthritis and tore the meniscus in both knees last fall. Right knee is 90% bone on bone. First shots did not hurt. Second shots, wow! How I got through it baffles me. Third shot, no pain, just uncomfortable. I'm 47. Noticed a difference after the first week; now we are 5 weeks out, right knee is stiff again and I'm having pain and problems walking. Left knee is hurting, but nothing like before the shots. Am hoping insurance will authorize TKR for the right one. Am basically unable to do anything pain-free."

For Osteoarthritis "I received my first injection, and for me, it was extremely painful during the injection, to the point that I wasn't sure I could go through with a second and third. I did experience mild discomfort afterwards, however, that subsided in about a day. In the following week, my knee felt much better after my first injection, with much less aching and pain. I have my second and third to go and am moving forward with the injections, as I feel the benefits outweigh the painful injection experience."

For Osteoarthritis "I had meniscus repair in December 2015. The doctor tore my hamstring during the process, so I ended up in PT for 6 weeks. Within a couple of months, I was walking 3 miles a day again. By the end of April, my knee was swelling and painful. Had cortisone shots twice, and they didn't help. The doctor recommended Euflexxa. I noticed a positive difference after the 1st and 2nd shot for a day or two at a time, both shots did not hurt. By the time I had the 3rd shot, it hurt so bad I cried, and my husband had to carry me out of the doctor's office. My knee has been like a cantaloupe ever since, and my other joints are swelling and achy. Nothing positive has come from these shots for me. I'm scheduled now for a partial knee replacement this December."

For Osteoarthritis "All I can say is don’t do Durolane injections. I am still in pain from injections three weeks and counting. PRP should have been my first choice, but my doc didn’t offer it. Found a doc that will, and it’s on schedule."

For Osteoarthritis "My doctor had amazing results with his knee as well as with other patients' knees. So I thought, why not? Unfortunately, I can relate to the reviews that only give a 1.0. I’m in much more pain than I was before the shot. I pray it goes away and doesn’t last 5 years like one person shared. Unreal."

For Osteoarthritis "Had the Durolane injection 4 days ago. The injection was very painful, and within a few hours, I could not walk due to pain and had horrible nausea! Took 3 days for the pain to go back to pre-shot pain, but my stomach has not recovered. I have terrible heartburn, reflux, and diarrhea. Not fun. My doctor said it could take 4 to 6 weeks for the injection to work. Fingers crossed. I don't think I would have this one again. I thought it would be best because it was only one injection. Lesson learned!"

For Osteoarthritis "I had my meniscus repaired last November after a fall the previous year. I had tried physical therapy, ice, heat, Celebrex for 9 months. I have arthritis, which is extremely painful. I received the first cortisone shot, which gave me wonderful relief for 6 weeks. Pain worsened, so I needed to have my knee drained on three separate occasions and more cortisone shots. My knee is still very swollen, at least twice the size of my other one. I got Euflexxa shots over a 3-week period. They were painful when administered. I experienced nausea and a headache after each shot, approximately thirty minutes after the injection. I didn't have any relief, unfortunately. My surgeon feels it's time for a knee replacement. I am happy for those who report success."

For Osteoarthritis "Having Durolane injections is the worst thing I’ve ever done in my life. For four days, I could not even walk, and now my knees are in twice the pain as before the injection four weeks later. Twice a year, I get cortisone injections that give me relief and are not as painful to administer. Durolane was absolute agony getting put into my knees, and I would caution anybody to never get these injections. I believe it should be taken off the market because I’ve only been able to find a handful of reviews where they had a positive outcome."

For Osteoarthritis "I would give this injection a minus 10! This lab should be sued for selling this product. The pain and swelling have been excruciating right after it was injected. I have not been able to walk or sleep from the pain it has created. It also caused me respiratory problems plus swelling of the knees. Insurance decided to change it to a low-cost product like Durolane. Please do not use this injection."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a series of 3 injections of Euflexxa by recommendation of my Dr. After the third one, I was told I wouldn’t see any improvement for about a month after. That month came and went, and I was in worse shape than before. I had more pain, stiffness, and general discomfort. These injections were done blind, and when I asked for a follow-up, I was told to seek another Dr. as there was nothing more they could do for me."

For Osteoarthritis "Bone on bone, both knees, advanced arthritis, terrified of the replacement surgery. Durolane, 8 days ago, I feel great. I have varying degrees of pain after the injection that lasted a few days, back using a cane for a couple of them, so there was some discomfort. I couldn't sit down and ice them for the recommended time, though. I think this is the miracle drug, folks, own a farm and can get around for the first time in a couple years. Walking on stairs, up and down hills, gravel and fields again."

For Osteoarthritis "After highly successful results (2 years relief per series), my insurance insisted on Euflexxa. Following completion of a series of three shots, my previously comfortable knees are completely destroyed. My range of motion is very limited, and walking long distances is painful."

For Osteoarthritis "May 16, 2017 was my last injection. Everything seemed to be going well, did not have discomfort, was able to walk without limping so much. But then, in the middle towards the end of June 2017, I started having severe pain, unable to bear weight, and my knee has really, really been killing me, having trouble bending. In the morning, getting up is very difficult. When I get myself going, I'm okay, but still with a lot of discomfort. Unfortunately for me, I don't know how long this injection was supposed to help, but I'm in pain. I'm looking at a total knee replacement. I will definitely be making a doctor's appointment with my orthopedic, but I'm waiting for after October because that's when my son is getting married, so I'm going to have to deal with the pain."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had injections of 1 mg in each big toe joint over the last 2 years for severe OA. The total is 4 sessions. The first time I had relief within 5 hours. I had no side effects, and I had success in pain relief and mobility. Second injections were 9 months later, and again, no side effects. I was told they don’t usually last a full year, and I was lucky the injections lasted for that time period. Cost was $420 for both feet and covered by my insurance. The third time was a year ago, and it was a success. I had recent injections this week, and the experience was different. I have had a reaction in both feet of swelling and pain around the joints. Hope it goes away soon. I can’t get my shoes on. I have tried icing and pain relievers, but nothing helps so far."

For Osteoarthritis "I had Durolane injections in both knees one week, 5 days ago. The injection in my right knee was very painful. The injection in my left knee was not quite as bad. I was able to drive myself home, but by that evening, I couldn't put any weight on my knees, and we had to pull out the crutches I had relied on for foot surgery. The next day was no better. Getting in and out of a chair was excruciating, and I had to have help. Same situation with getting up and down the stairs. I couldn't do it without butt climbing. Fortunately, my husband was here to help. I slowly improved, but one week after the injections, I still couldn't drive safely. It was very painful to lift my foot on and off the gas and brakes. At this point, I am better, but I'm going to try and find a new orthopedic doctor who can see me this week. I want to know what went wrong! I broke down into tears several times in the past week and a half, and the physician who gave me the injections has been avoiding me."

For Osteoarthritis "Got my first shot yesterday. Wasn't as bad as a flu shot. I have had Synvisc shots before with a different doctor that were so painful (but they helped), but I have had other shots from him that were also very painful. I just think some doctors are worse than others at giving shots. So far, so good today. See what next week, shot #2, brings. I think there could be a major difference in how it goes for some people, depending on how severe the bone-on-bone is. My right knee isn't too bad, so I went with the shots, my left knee is too far gone to even try, so I will be looking at a replacement soon. By the way, there was an elderly (near 100) woman getting one before me who said it was a breeze too, so I was glad to hear it wasn't painful for her. Good health, all."

For Osteoarthritis "At first, it was working after I got done with all the injections. A few months after, I started accumulating a lot of fluid on my knee that has not gone away, and it's been 9 months now. Now the pain is back, and I'm 33, having trouble going up and down stairs. I can say I don't recommend it, but I suggest doing research and asking questions."

For Osteoarthritis "I developed pain in early May and basically have had to wear a brace on my knee most of the summer. I got my injection on October 8, 2019. I was concerned by the number of negative comments on this site. Thankful my experience was positive. Yes, it hurt a lot during and for the next 24-48 hours. I was very cautious and applied ice frequently, as well as used Advil. Uncomfortable, but a week later I am very happy with the results. I have some discomfort, but have better mobility and less pain, for sure."

For Osteoarthritis "Have had osteoarthritis for years. I have Factor V Leiden, which is a blood clotting disease. Hematology explained the risks involved in the total knee replacement for both knees, which I need. He suggested Euflexxa injections. The first one was tolerable. The second one was so painful, I vowed not to return. My daughter convinced me to return for the third one. This was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. As of today, I have not had any relief. It's only gotten worse. Can't hardly walk. In pain 24 hours a day."

For Osteoarthritis "My wife tried to find out from Lourdes Hospital, 'How much are these injections?' Insurance billing claimed, 'Oh, your Blue Cross covers it!' Had to get 3 injections, once a week for 3 weeks. Injections weren't painful or helpful. Have patiently waited, for Dr. said sometimes it takes a while. No improvement. In fact, knee is worse. But worst pain was the cost! Could have gotten 1 Simvastatin injection that cost my wife $1,200 instead of 3 injections of the miracle drug Supartz for, get this... $6,600!!! That's right, people, $2,200 an injection & my knee is so very, very messed up!"

For Osteoarthritis "I had a series of 5 shots of Hyalgan. Not impressed with this drug. I've had Euflexxa and Synvisc injections as well. Hands down, Synvisc is my drug of choice. With Synvisc, I had minimal pain for a period of 4-5 years. As for Euflexxa, it was less time pain-free...would say 2 years. I did see signs of improvement within the second shot of Hyalgan. And after I completed the 5, I started suffering bad knee pain to the point the doctor thought I might have an infection or water in the knee...negative for both. Another symptom I have with Hyalgan, my knees now crack quite a bit each and every time I get up. Prior to injections, I had very minimal cracking knees. I will not be seeking therapy with Hyalgan."

For Osteoarthritis "After 3 shots, the pain is worse. I think I have an injured ligament. The kneecap doesn't hurt. It hurts from above the knee going up my leg about 4 inches. One surgeon said I need a kneecap replacement, yet the kneecap doesn't hurt. It's under the muscle going down my leg to the top left edge of the knee. The Euflexxa made the pain even worse. I'm not a good candidate for surgery, and I'm at a loss at what to do next."

For Osteoarthritis "Had three sets of injections in both knees in February 2023. Pain and discomfort began in the left knee with each injection. As time passed, knees are worse than prior to injections. Had gel injections about two years ago that worked fine. Wish I had gotten the same type as before. These injections made the condition worse."
