For High Blood Pressure "I started ramipril on 2.5 mg a day when my blood pressure was still high, so they put me on 7.5 mg daily. I had a blood pressure reading done, and yes, it's still showing 160/98. I have been on them for a month. Does anyone know why it's still up?"

For High Blood Pressure "I've been taking 7.5 mg ramipril for about 6 months. I found that it worked when I took my BP at home in the morning, going from 160/120 down to 109/80 - 125/85. But since I have gone back to sea, it's up again to 160/110. I have a month left at sea, I'm a little worried as I know people who are older and a lot less healthy than me on a lower dose. It makes me worried, job in the balance. I haven't had any side effects so far."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been taking Ramipril for about six months now, and since I started, I have started to suffer from anxiety every day and all day. I stopped taking it for a period and felt much better, but my blood pressure rose. My GP prescribed Clonazepam, but hasn't helped at all."

For High Blood Pressure "I was taken to A&E as my BP was 219. The doctor gave me ramipril and within hours came down to 184. Felt great. Gave me a prescription for indapamide which worked well, but when the tablets ran out, my doctor put me on ramipril which is making me feel so ill. I have a constant dry cough, am falling asleep all day, and have completely lost my balance, causing falls. I have lost all my energy and have a tummy ache after meals, which I never had before. Trying to get the doctor to change me back to indapamide which appeared to suit me better without all these awful side effects. Both drugs have been 2.5 mg, but I think 1.25 would be better."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I've been on 1.25 Ramipril since a valve replacement last year. I take it at night. It gives me tinnitus, patchy skin, cough, and I feel tired a lot. I was taking beta blockers as well for a few weeks but stopped. Average BP has gone down from 135/90 to 122/78. But don't know if it's worth it. Can't see a doctor as I'm in London, and the wheels have completely come off our National Health Service - it's in chaos."
