For Schizoaffective Disorder "It helped so much right away, but then the honeymoon wore off, and it gave me 20 lbs weight gain and an uncontrollable appetite. That slowly went away a month later, and then I was on injection and started to experience my bladder being constricted, and I'd have to go 10-12 times some days. The med helps me 'stabilize,' but it also now is getting me steadily more depressed, and I am getting such intense anhedonia. I'm going to go back to Haldol, I think. It's like a chemical lobotomy, but most meds are anyways, and no one really cares about those who suffer from mental illness."

For Schizophrenia "I have been on Invega for 7 months. I have noticed many side effects like muscle stiffness, agitation, involuntary movements, horrific nightmares, headaches, and I have gained about 40 pounds in that time while continuing to exercise and eat healthily. I was on 9 mg for about 3 months and then was lowered to 3 mg. It did stop my severe psychosis when initially prescribed, so for that, I am very grateful. I am now weaning off the medication to hopefully improve my quality of life. Would not recommend unless absolutely necessary."

For Schizophrenia "This drug works great for the treatment of schizophrenia. It has made me feel a ton better, and its benefits far outweigh the few side effects. Be sure to take exactly when you are supposed to and not try to catch up on a dose. I did this and had to go to the hospital for treatment of muscle rigidity and uncontrollable muscle spasms, but as I said it has only happened once and happened when I missed a dose and tried to double up. So this is a great medicine, but take as prescribed only."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in June of 2020. Since then, I have been on numerous antipsychotics, and Invega is by far the worst. It caused brain damage, turned me into a vegetable, and I’ve put on 50 pounds. Everything nice in my life is gone. The anhedonia is the worst thing about it."

"I had a horrible experience as well from Invega. I never needed meds. I was offered either to go to long-term care while in a psych ward or just take the shot and be released. I took the shot because the thought of long-term care scared me. Worse choice in my life. I have had a terrible experience after being given this horrible medication, horrible... Horrible, horrible."

"Many people who have taken LSD hear voices, get delusions, this happened to me, but long ago. I had temper, and I was given Invega Trinza. I had brain damage, difficulty in walking, impotence, weak muscles, and more, my symptoms had gone long ago. But I had abusive language and temper, it didn't help my temper. It's almost a year since I stopped Invega, and I still have difficulty in walking, let alone running. My ability to play chess has been affected by this drug. For me, there was no positive result."

For Schizophrenia "I was prescribed Invega because my mother takes the injection, and it has helped her. I take the tablets. I'm so incredibly boring now. I don't find joy in anything, really. I don't have motivation to shower. I'm emotionless. I've gained a lot of weight. This medication should definitely be a last resort."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "Been on Invega ER for two months; so much better in the head, sorted the acute psychosis out, organized my thoughts in a new and helpful way, slight orthostatic hypotension and drowsiness are easing - overall, this has been a savior re paranoia and hallucinations, etc. AND I am more motivated to do things; continuing with Pristiq at 200 mg and paliperidone 9 mg, good."

For Schizophrenia "This medication is an absolute waste of time. I have been on Invega for a little less than 2 years now, and I can with absolute confidence ascertain that it has done nothing for me. Aside from the decrease in sexual appetite and libido, difficulty having and maintaining erections, little to no ejaculatory fluid (which is really frustrating, by the way), the muscle tremors I am experiencing, and the 30 pounds I have gained since starting this medication, it is with no doubt an absolute and total waste of money. I definitely would not recommend this medication to anyone. Save yourselves the time and money and do not take this medication."

For Schizophrenia "It was and still is an absolute nightmare. I am bedridden since the 3rd shot. I was given this for my first psychosis episode. I should not have been given it in the first place because I never heard voices, I just had strange thoughts. I have brain damage. My IQ has so dramatically reduced that I am unable to live alone. I have very severe anhedonia. I can't listen to music, watch TV, or read. I can't sleep. It is like being buried alive. I left the medication 9 months ago with 0 improvement. Only people with severe schizophrenia should be given this."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "Although it helped with my delusional thoughts, it completely destroyed my life. I have anhedonia, loss of sex drive, fatigue, can't play football or any sports, my mind is blank, 40 kg weight gain, always hungry, can't get drunk. Feeling down sometimes. Robbed every joy from me."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "This medicine wrecked me. I had a drug-induced psychosis, they had no business putting me on this. The only positive is that it did snap me back into reality, but some clean time would have done that. I have gained weight all in my stomach. I developed akathisia that lasted 2 months after discontinuing. Also, extreme anhedonia, which can persist for up to a year. I hope I return to normal way before that. Please only attempt this med if you don't know which way is up."

For Schizophrenia "My daughter was diagnosed with a mental illness around 12 years ago. We tried almost every single medication out on the market. Nothing worked. I had lost hope. Then our MD talked to me about Invega. It was Godsent. The best medication ever. My daughter is able to have a life again. She goes out without being paranoid. It is worth every penny. Some side effects, but she is able to think clearly. If you are thinking about it, give it a try."

For Bipolar Disorder "I've been terrified about staying on any anti-psychotic medication, the side effects are horrible. This drug has very few side effects, no weight gain is a plus! Not to mention, it stabilizes my moods and stops psychosis. Another added bonus is the drug company provided me with a free lifetime user card. Thank you for giving me my life back."

For Schizophrenia "I've been on Invega for four months, and the delusions are gone, and I don't think people are out to get me anymore. All is good, but I can't think straight when people try to have a conversation with me. I'm really quiet and can't think of what to say or what to talk about. It's so depressing. I'm on 150 mg of Invega and 2 mg of Abilify. Will these side effects get better, or will I be like this for a few years? I don't know. I just wish I was back to my old self."

For Schizophrenia "Total scam. I've been on this drug for 3 years. Since being on it, it caused acute arm paralysis, dystonia, difficulty speaking, delirium which lasted for a month, and it caused weight gain and man boobs. When I first received the shot, it felt like my brain was about to explode. I had extremely high blood pressure on this medicine- 178/105. After I stopped it, my blood pressure is 110/78. I experienced temporal lobe damage from this medicine, and a CT scan showed atrophy of my brain after I stopped taking it. Be careful- many psychiatrists receive grants and stipends from big pharma and receive extra insurance money to peddle more drugs to as many patients as possible. This is because of our fee-for-service healthcare system."

For Schizophrenia "I was on Risperdal, and I was always sleeping, gained much weight, and craved sugar. When I switched to Invega, my weight went back to normal, suffered few side effects such as restlessness and sometimes anxiety, but it beats those other antipsychotics because of fewer side effects and no weight gain for me. I don't like any of these medicines, but I look like I'm not on any, so far, so good."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I am currently on Invega Sustenna 78 mg, the monthly injection. The main side effect I experienced from Invega was sexual dysfunction. My sex drive dropped a lot, I became unable to get an erection, and when I did manage to masturbate (which was rare), I produced much less semen. Before I started taking this medication, I could sexually recharge in less than an hour if something was turning me on. After starting this medication, my dick became totally nonfunctional for days after ejaculation. I used to be able to get an erection just from looking without genital touching. Now the only way for me to get an erection is with genital touching, and only if it's been a while since I last ejaculated. Before, I was on a higher dose, and these sexual side effects were worse - at the higher dose, I produced almost zero semen and my dick was almost totally nonfunctional. I don't actually know if it helped with my schizoaffective disorder because my symptoms come and go unpredictably. I also gained 30 lbs."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "Put on Invega, and I started hearing voices, which is something that's never happened. Panic attacks, something that's never happened. Always felt cold. Would wake up in the middle of the night as though I've been possessed. Invega contains fluoride, highly recommend finding medication fluoride-free. Not to mention it costs $900/month for the pill and $1900/month for the injection! Was on the pill for 2 weeks, went off cold turkey, and it was hard, could only describe a really bad physical sensation. I'm trying Lurasidone next, seems to have much better reviews for schizoaffectives. Wish everyone the best."

For Schizophrenia "I'd been smoking a very small amount of cannabis for a few months and isolated myself with video games. One evening, I was playing music very loud, and the police were called. I thought it would be clever to resist arrest, so I stood behind the door and shouted, threatening to burn the house down. They soon broke in and carted me to the mental hospital. After giving my story to the doctor, I was put on Invega shots and told I was schizo, I'd never felt it. After three months, I started having tremors, constant anxiety, a panic feeling of a heart attack, couldn't move, walk, and six months on still on edge 24 hours a day."

For Schizophrenia "It's kind of weird how I had one career abroad, then came to North America with my parents and had another education (Comp Sci, honors degree), and always considered myself a successful A-student. Now, after a 2-year course of Invega, I have a learning disability. Yes, after treatment with this neurotoxic poison, all types of education, continuous learning, etc. are irrelevant to me. My memory is so bad now, I cannot learn some of the subway station sequences in Toronto no matter how I try (I work now as a foot courier, a career specifically tailored for the disabled). Specifically talking about Canadian psychiatry, I would say they deactivate your frontal lobe with Invega or something like that, then throw you into extreme poverty for the rest of your life. My Invega dosage: first year 150 x 6, (75 + 50) x 3, 100 x 3, second year 75 x 7, switched to oral Invega 6 mg (2 months), now I'm on risperidone."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I have had only my first 2 shots, my last shot being June 23rd, 2017, which was the day I was released from the psych ward. I decided that I wanted to see how I was going to do without the drugs and see how I am. My first shot was the week before. I didn't even tell them I was hearing voices because I was in awe that I was and wanted to keep that to myself. I believe I was only hearing them for about 4 weeks, but I can't really say. Even though I was experiencing many new things mentally, physically, and emotionally, even before the voices, I would have rather felt that and heard voices, which I don't hear anymore, than to feel how I am now... literally zero emotions, don't get pleasure from anything, don't feel anything, I mean anything."

For Schizophrenia "I'm a young single mom. In my experience, Invega gives me a fuller lifestyle. My condition is stable and controlled with Invega, so I can live with a balanced, happier mind. The only downside is the weight gain and some minor side effects, like milk production in my breasts. However, the benefits to my mind are greater than some minor and trivial side effects."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "While on Invega, I used to have tremors, shake every day, couldn't focus, was constipated for a month, my belly was swollen, my prolactin levels increased drastically, I didn't get my period for months, I was extremely slow, had no sex drive, and had horrible urinary incontinence. When I look at pictures from that time, it is clear that I was sedated, my face changed, I couldn't even open my eyes properly. Everybody thought that I was weird. I didn't know that urinary incontinence was caused by this drug, but now I see that it is a common side effect. It was so stressful being on this drug, DON'T TAKE THIS HORRIBLE INJECTION. Worst years of my life."
