"I have taken Invega for 10 years on and off. It does stop the mood problems and psychosis, but at what cost? I'm 334 lbs and was 250 lbs when I started. I have lost sexual function. I have night terrors, and for years I have had panic attacks. I am an insomniac because sleep is the worst. I sleep two hours and wake up. Then I wait till I'm tired again and sleep. I haven't slept 8 hours in 4 years. I'm diabetic now. This ought to tell you how bad schizophrenia is--I still take the medicine and never plan to stop. I'm about to get a bachelor's degree in two months and have had straight A's for a year. This is the best medicine I've gotten yet. When are we going to do better with pharmacy?"

"After your first shot, you’ll feel a lot better. After your shot the second week, you’ll start noticing symptoms going away daily. This is the best schizophrenic drug I’ve used. Just make sure you stay with your schedule. They even have a 3-month and 6-month shot, so you won’t have to come as often. Love you all and stay healthy!"

"This drug works for me. I have an injection once a month. First, I was on Abilify, but this drug was not working the way it should. For 'hardcore' schizophrenia, Invega is a very good choice. My libido has plummeted, and I gained some weight. My psychosis is gone. Of course, there are downsides to this drug, but it does what it promises."

"I've had a very good experience with Invega and have been promoted to Trinza, which is a 3-month version. Did very well on Invega with zero side effects. Still had libido, penis works fine, and also I actually had decreased appetite and lost weight on this medication. I've been losing about 5 pounds every 3 months. Two meals a day, and I feel full and disinterested in more food. For all those saying it didn't work, I had a similar experience with other drugs. This one works perfectly for me. Don't give up, guys. It's not the med's fault, some just don't work for many people but are perfect for others. Years of trial and error before this one finally worked perfectly."

"If you really have schizophrenia like I do, this medicine really helps. Yes, it can have side effects that really are as bad as the schizophrenia itself. The thing is schizophrenia is an illness that is up there with cancer, it's nice to have been offered medical care for it for once."

"I'm not like these other people, the only side effect I've noticed is I seem to have a flat emotional response. I consider it an improvement over the way I was thinking before. It's not a terrible medication for me. Just goes to show you, everyone is different."

"I won't lie, I don't like this med. I'm not myself. But I've tried like all the other meds, and this is the only one that works. I can't clean anything on this med, but after attacking my dad and going to jail for it, I've decided I'll take it. The other meds that supposedly cause less weight gain only halfway treated me, so I was walking around not understanding what people were saying all the way. After 1 year on the drug, although I can't clean a single thing in my house, I will admit the delusions of grandeur are leaving me."

"My son is autistic and has bipolar 1. His manic episodes were through the roof. Within a day of taking this on 3 mg, he turned back into a sweet, loving person. It worked for about 3.5 years, then slowly stopped working. We increased it to 4.5, then 6 mg. But it just wasn’t working like it used to. That is my only complaint, that it stopped working after time. Maybe all these drugs do. I don’t have enough history with the others. We tried Vraylar - he started hitting his head and became explosive, so we tried to wean him off of that to Seroquel, and on the third day we had to hospitalize him for the first time. They put him on Geodon, but I’m concerned about its heart rhythm side effect. Hoping to switch to Seroquel. He’s an ultra-rapid metabolizer, so Abilify and others don’t work for him. I’m hoping he can go back on Invega at some point again because nothing worked this well in calming him."

"Paliperidone has worked both wonderfully and not so wonderfully. It calms me down enough to not disturb my neighbors when I have anxiety about bad memories. It has lowered blood pressure to 62/42, yeah!!!! That's pretty good. The nurse says if I keep smoking, it will go up. It gives me some headaches, about two to three a week, but it does shut me up. It definitely mellows me out. It helps to keep that demon who is trying to hurt me away! Hooray, ra ra, hooray!!!! I spike my blood sugar, though."

"I took risperidone in 2001 and had weight gain and sexual dysfunction. I changed to olanzapine, and I was able to finish my college degree in engineering. The doctor changed me to aripiprazole, but it did not work for me. For about 10 years, I have been taking Invega. I feel good, and my head is clear. I am able to maintain a healthy weight that is managed with physical activity. I have no sexual dysfunction, but I lack motivation and feel flat."

"Do not take any mental drug in the form of an injection! Just never! Regardless of which mental drug. I am taking Invega pills for years. For me, it's a godsend. I am overempathic, highly sensitive, and emotional to a sickening degree, and this medication blocks that mostly. I would be as good as dead without it. It also reinforced me mentally. Thanks to Invega and an SSRI (escitalopram 20mg/antidepressant), I can live as a healthy person. Even many doctors do not notice that I am mentally disabled. This medicine should be made available for every person on earth to block overempathy, especially for males since women are definitely not interested in an empathic guy."
