Oxycodone "I have taken this drug for over 20 years for chronic pain. If I stop 1 person from starting this drug, then it has been worth it. Initially, it was the best pain reliever I ever tried. The problem is it is very addictive and stops working. The only way to sustain relief is to increase the dosage. I started at 60 mg and wound up at 200 mg. Unfortunately, at that dosage over the years causes brain cell deterioration. Remembering things becomes difficult, like family functions. In time, you become a walking zombie and numb to everything around you. You will lose interest in life and become drug sick if you don't take your pill on time. Your relief will no longer be there because it stops working after time. I am off now and have my life back."

"I use 30 mg oxycodone three times a day. It helps with pain and keeps me motivated to keep working. I have arthritis and Crohn's disease. The pills keep my pain under control and interestingly, the side effect is constipation. It helps control my frequent bowel movements. This medication is knocking two issues with one stone. The only bad thing is withdrawal if you run out and don't get the refill in time. It's not as easy as other meds that have auto refill, you always have to get a paper prescription for each refill. But the medicine really helped me for years."

"I get prescribed oxycodone (Roxicodone) two 15 mg three times a day. Mallinckrodt was the best I’ve ever had. I was actually getting my life back and accomplishing more. And everybody, including my doctor, pharmacist, parents, coworkers, and friends, were telling me how great I seemed to be doing! Then I was prescribed Rhodes; I honestly didn’t know what was happening. The pharmacist scoffed at me when I told her that it wasn’t working. I went back to my original pharmacy, and they have been riding me. KVK Tech, which has been working well by all means. With no heads up, this month I was prescribed Amneal. Unfortunately, I am experiencing zero pain relief, withdrawal symptoms, diarrhea, yawning. This is absolutely awful; my work sent me home because of how bad it has gotten. Mallinckrodt = 10/10, KVK Tech = 7/10, Amneal = 1/10, Rhodes = 0/10. I’ve heard good things about Alvogen."

Oxycodone "I was on 4 x 5 mg Oxycodone IR for my pain. After a year or so, I felt I needed an extra pill to cover me for 24 hrs. Doctor switched me to OxyNeo 2 x 10 mg every 12 hours plus 5 mg of Oxycodone for breakthrough if needed. The first 2 days I felt great, OxyNeo took care of the pain, and I did not feel drowsy or tired. However, after the 3rd day, I started feeling very agitated and angry after I took my OxyNeo. I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone reacted like this to long-acting Oxycodone? Too bad because I liked this long-acting one, but feeling angry all day is not worth it either."

"I've broken my neck 3 times. I am fused from C2-T2, and I'm having adjacent level issues, so I'm having trouble walking. Oxycodone allows me to get off the couch and get on with my life. All the side effects have been gone for a long time, including any 'high' I ever got. Unfortunately, due to the abuse problem in the U.S., it's gotten harder for me to get my scripts filled. I take the meds exactly as prescribed and lowered my dosage, yet I sometimes get a hard time from pharmacists, and pharmacies are often out of the medicine. Instead of focusing on those who take the medicine responsibly, maybe the government should go after illegal drug dealers and smugglers bringing in heroin and fentanyl from China and Mexico and focus on abusers."

Oxycodone "I have Fibromyalgia and major back problems. Recently, I visited the ER for my back, and they gave me Tylenol 3, which did nothing for my pain. I went to the doctor a few days later and told him I need something stronger, and he prescribed me 10mg of OxyContin twice per day. I can only tolerate taking one per day (any more makes me throw up), but since starting this medicine, it has significantly reduced my all-around pain levels by at least 85%! I am grateful for this medicine."

Oxycodone "I've had 10 surgeries on both of my legs. I just started going to a doctor this month, and they gave me roxys. They work more than any other medicine out there. I'm so happy I can now take my son for a walk and do things that I couldn't do before. I want to thank my doc for taking my pain away."

"I have been on oxycodone for 15 years for back pain, I have rods and screws in my back. My doctor cut me off cold turkey because the DEA raised his family practice. I just had another back surgery and was able to go back on the oxycodone for acute pain only. The pharmacy dispensed me RHODES Pharmaceuticals oxycodone 20 mg tabs, it’s like taking generic Tylenol from Dollar General. So much filler in it and bothers my stomach, I was able to cut the dose in half to 10 mg tabs. I recommend you get the KVK TECH brand as it works. Sad that I had to do that and give up half my pills, but the RHODES is straight garbage. In a couple of weeks, because of this “OPIOID CRISIS,” I can’t because of ADDICTS that have ruined it for chronic pain patients. This government of ours is telling our doctors what they can and can’t do. They don’t have the expertise to treat chronic pain patients! The RHODES PHARMACEUTICAL Oxycodone is straight junk."

Oxycodone "I have been taking this medication for over a year, hoping it would help, but finally gave up. It just makes me tired and sometimes upsets my stomach. It’s so insulting, the way we chronic pain patients are treated in the USA. I’m wondering if this is a political thing and if people are treated with more dignity and compassion elsewhere. It’s very isolating to have a progressive illness for which there is no cure, and having to fight with varying success for proper relief just makes it worse. Believe me, I used to be super optimistic and never thought my life would come to this. I still have short-acting oxycodone, which does help, but it’s not enough. There is nothing for extended relief and no recourse when an emergency situation arises that causes me to need more help than usual, e.g., my husband was in the ICU with respiratory failure, and I had to be there for him, causing more nerve damage, etc. But no extra medication, so I ran out a few days early that month and oh well, too bad."

Oxycodone "I was started on Xtampza ER in Jan 2020. CMS removed OxyContin ER from the formulary in 2020 and switched to Xtampza ER mfg by Collegium. My pain group started me on 18 mg Xtampza vs. the 20 mg OxyContin ER. After three months, I told PM it was not working. She upped it to 27 mg Xtampza. I hit the coverage gap in May. I refuse to pay over $100+ for a drug that does very little, so when I had my telehealth appt on Friday, I told her it really was doing little to help me, and I refused to have it filled. It's just shy of being a worthless pain medication. I have heard from several the same thing."

Oxycodone "I have been on opiates for 15 years now because of a degenerative condition on my C5 and C6 disks and a sterno-clavicular joint with constant subluxation and arthrosis. 3 years ago I was prescribed OxyContin 20 mg 2x daily, and for breakthrough pain, I simply chew 1/3 to 1/2 of a 20 mg OxyContin tablet. Less side effects than morphine and much better pain management combined with Celecoxib and Paracetamol. I do not overmedicate when I do not need it since I had such bad experiences with tramadol addiction, that stuff was vile. Sometimes I take it a few weeks in a row and pause when I can to lessen the habituation, and I never will get dependent. 42 pieces of 20 mg OxyContin tabs are enough for like 2 months of quality life as it very effectively takes the edge off the pain that I have every time I am standing or being active for more than a few hours in a row. Besides some pruritus (itching) from time to time and the occasional constipation I get from OxyContin, all is well. An 8+ out of 10 from me!"

"The larger issues with generic pain medication are twofold: 1) The FDA does not have a standard to measure the generic oxycodone performance, as there was never a brand name to set the standard. The FDA cannot test because there is no standard or baseline minimums for comparative analysis; and 2) The FDA rules on the initial approval of a generic medication do not require any hard rule for minimum amount of effective ingredient and does not require FDA testing. 1) Immediately report this to your treating physician. If in a hospital, you, and only you, have to agree to be discharged from care. A doctor or hospital cannot force you to be discharged, or it's considered abandonment of patient care; and 2) File a report of adverse effects of the medication with the FDA immediately. You can report an issue with a medication to the FDA online by Googling MedWatch Online Voluntary Reporting Form or via telephone at: Call FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088."

Oxycodone "I was hit by an 18-wheeler. I fractured my spine. My doctor prescribed OxyContin because I'd been taking high doses of acetaminophen for years, which affected my liver. I took OxyContin successfully for 3 years 'til the US government decided chronic pain patients are expendable. I successfully weaned off of OxyContin, without any help! My doctor made sure I had enough to wean off before he left his practice. Reality: Only 0.3 percent of chronic pain patients ever become addicted. The US government has recently admitted to fraudulent and overstated numbers, elevated by over 50 percent! I've done every other treatment recommended by doctors, most incredibly expensive and invasive. Nothing worked, and I've been bedridden for the past 3 plus years."

Oxycodone "I'm an ex-flooring installer of 17 years (11 years non-union, 6 union years). My back is wrecked. I have tears in 2 of my discs at L3/L4 and L4/L5 locations. I have no cartilage left anywhere in my lower back. My PCP put me through the tests, multiple MRI's/CT's, injections, lots of prednisone, and then finally Norco. It took me a few days of being on Hydrocodone before the relief started, but relief it was! I gained much of my functionality back. I was moved up to the higher doses and then on to OxyContin ER. OxyContin had fewer side effects and, in general, felt less wasted. I'm now on 60mg x3 daily with 20mg IR 3x daily. It's been very helpful in my life."

"Oxycodone is the only medication that helps my severe, intractable spine pain. The new movement/narrative that opiates don't work long-term is a crock. The experts are the people who live the conditions."

Oxycodone "I’ve been taking generic 15 mg Roxicodone for a long time after chronic back pain and surgery. Then the doctor added 20 mg oxycodone generic for Dazidox. I called the pharmacy to see if the generic was immediate release or extended release for this, and they said immediate release. But I get far less results taking this than I do the 15 mg generic for oxycodone. Anybody have the same results I do? The 20 mg are far less effective than the 15 mg. Thanks for any responses. I hope nobody is in the same pain I’m in. I can’t go on living in this kind of pain. I thought the 20 mg and the 15 mg together would solve my pain issue, but it hasn’t. Thanks to anybody who is reading this and might have an opinion or help."

Oxycodone "This medication is great for my chronic back pain. I have been on the same dose for over two years, and it helped me get through most of the day just on two 20mg pills. Lately, it has stopped working as well, and I am having a lot of breakthrough pain as the OxyContin is extended release. From it working for almost 6 hours per dose, it now only helps for about 2 hours. It is great if you are also given something for breakthrough pain, but I cannot imagine being off of it, to be honest. I have had severe chronic lower back pain due to a pinched nerve, which causes shooting pain that goes up and down my spine and even causes my legs to go numb. I also have carpal tunnel in my right hand and fibromyalgia. Overall, this medication has been very helpful."

Oxycodone "I have been prescribed OxyContin 60mg for well over 6 years now. In just the last 2 months, I have gotten a refill. I know for a fact that either the manufacturer or where they get their medication through, there has been a shortage of the medication per the dosage compared to what it used to be. I don't know at what level this is occurring. Whether this is another government regulation that says if someone is prescribed 60mg tablets, the manufacturer is only allowed to put 30mg in that tablet? I have been on this same medication for a long time, and starting December 2015 and January 2016, my medication has been shorted. My body goes through tremendous withdrawal symptoms each month I refill this medication. I need an answer."

Oxycodone "The extended-release OxyContin works the same for pain relief as Percocet, but with barely any side effects. Doesn't make me nearly as foggy or give me that euphoric feeling that Percocet does. I can focus better during the day and sleep through the night without waking up needing more pills."

Oxycodone "Been on and off of it for intractable pain and trigeminal neuralgia for 10 years. I was taking 30 mg every 4 hours or 6×a day. That worked for me for a long time until my doctor of 14 years retired, and it's been downhill from there. Now I'm only prescribed 30 mg 3 times a day and thinking about what options I have because when you're on these drugs for so long, you don't have adequate relief or adequate medication. It just leaves you in a state of withdrawal and increased sensitivity to pain."

Oxycodone "I was put on this medication for chronic back pain and primary progressive MS. I had been on OxyContin and oxycodone. The medication simply doesn’t work for me. My insurance company finally approved my old medications for me. I understand the abuse that goes along with the opiate medications. However, I don’t abuse it. I never will, either. I hate taking pain medications, but I have no choice. Good luck with the pain for all of you."

Oxycodone "I was just forced to this Xtampza after having been on OxyContin ER 40 mg x 3 a day for over 10 years. I never had any issues with Purdue Pharmaceuticals OxyContin. This Xtampza is a joke. Dr. is force tapering & switched me to 36 mg Xtampza ER 2 x a day. My dose was lowered by 40 mg a day in one go. I'm experiencing horrific withdrawals, and this medication is NOT working at all. Twice a day is not enough. The bioavailability is all over the board and way too inconsistent, depending on high-fat food. This medication should be pulled off the market. Does NOT last anywhere near a 12-hour period. The 'studies' showing it does are a damn LIE. It's all about the addicts now. Guess what? Those addicts will keep using & move on. However, chronic pain patients are being force tapered, thrown to the streets, and left to fend for themselves. Many are paying for this with their lives. Something needs to change here. We need to get louder or nothing will change this suffering."

Oxycodone "Moved and had to change doctor. Was given Xtampza twice daily. I have found this medication horrible. It does not work on a consistent level, any relief that it gives quickly fades. Twelve-hour relief is a joke, maybe six to seven hours. Blood pressure has gone up, needed to increase my atenolol 25 mg. Nausea soon becomes a constant companion, with headaches to add to the original chronic pain. This has been my experience, I also see many others have issues with this medication."

Oxycodone "I was recently put on this medication Xtampza ER and am not very happy. I have been on Percocet 10 mg 4 a day for about 10 years. It wasn’t helpful much anymore. My new primary care doctor decided to do a time-release medication. I had read so many bad reviews about this medicine I wasn’t sure if I should try it. I had to get insurance to approve a PA to get it because it cost $600.00. This medication doesn’t touch my pain. I hate it. It’s like taking baby aspirin."

"I have MS, and suffer from chronic pain. I have been on and off oxycodone for the last 20 years. Currently, I am taking 300 mg of oxycodone and 80 mg of OxyContin a day to manage my pain due to the tolerance I've built up over the years. My doctor unilaterally decided that he wanted to lower my doses. I asked him why, and he had no answer. Without them, I'm a bedridden man and am unable to function. In one visit, he cut my dose in half, which is very dangerous for my MS. So, I went to my neurologist, who understands more about the illness. He took over my care. I'm not talking to you abusers who take them to get high with no medical reason. It is because of you that it makes it difficult on us who actually need them for pain."
