For Muscle Spasm "I've been on a host of antidepressants and opiates. While opiates do relieve my pain slightly more, this is a miracle drug for those who do not want to be on a lifetime of daily medication. The analgesic effect of this drug seems to go hand in hand with nerve pain, although it does not directly help the pain, I find it releases tension in my back, which in turn helps the pain substantially. My only beef with this substance is that it only lasts 4-5 hours, whereas Panadeine or something similar lasts 8-10 hours. Please be aware of anticholinergic effects, it can give weird dreams and hallucinations if not enough choline is present. It's 1/3rd as strong as PCP as an NMDA agonist."

For Muscle Spasm "I was first prescribed Orphenadrine (ORP) (in the form of Norgesic tablets) 30 years ago (in 1994) for relief from lower back pain. I had surgery performed in 1998 (to repair 3 damaged vertebrae disks), in 2000 (for 1), and in 2016 (for 7). I continue to take ORP 100mg ER tablets once, and sometimes twice a day (and occasionally two tablets together, as needed) for very satisfactory relief from pain and terrible muscle spasms. I have NEVER experienced any adverse side effects when taking this medication. For the record, over the many years, with the perspective of lowering RX pricing costs, I have alternately tried using doctor-suggested cyclobenzaprine, baclofen, and diclofenac. The effectiveness of the ORP 100mg ER tablets has worked the best for me. Based on my 30 years of experience, I rate it a 10, on a scale of one to 10, for its effectiveness. Out of the blue, three weeks ago, my insurer denied my 90-day Rx renewal. I have appealed. If denied, I will find a new Rx plan."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this orphenadrine on Saturday after going to the ER for what I thought was a torn muscle. Had significant pain in my shoulder area. I took 1 Saturday, 2 Sunday, and 2 on Monday. Within that time frame, my anxiety levels increased, I was hallucinating (feeling 'cancerous lumps' on my body all over, extremely lightheaded at all times, and I got a horrendous migraine). I skipped Tuesday morning's pill and I ended up looking up the side effects Tuesday night, and it all made sense. Here I am Wednesday, still not taking this pill, and I am still having anxiety issues and experiencing the lightheadedness. Also, this didn't even help my pain. Ended up getting a cortisone shot Monday. The only plus side to this was that it made me sleepy. Watch out for the side effects!"

For Muscle Spasm "100 mg Norflex is a joke. I'm a 26-year-old achondroplasia little person, and I have severe kyphosis, spinal stenosis, slight scoliosis, and I'm paraplegic. My doctor keeps writing scripts for this medicine, and it does not help at all. My kyphosis (curve by which the spine is bent forward) was bad, and I was bent forward 147 degrees. I keep telling him this isn't helping, and I'm not sleeping at night, but he keeps throwing these at me. He had removed my hardware back in May due to an infection, and I've been in pain ever since, and he swears up and down these will work. Just a joke and a waste... I'm gonna be having surgery again March 19th."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this medication for pain after I was involved in a car accident and also for back spasms. The drug doesn't really do anything to ease my back and neck pain, but it does act as a pretty good sleep aide. So I guess it's not totally useless. A low rating was given because it does not do what it is prescribed for."

Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "Aggravated old lower back injury. Spasms with sharp pain. Norflex stopped the spasms which I frequently got while standing or lying down. No side effects other than cotton mouth. I take it day and night, with no daytime fatigue and feel fine at work."

For Muscle Spasm "Taking this was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. First, it felt like gravity pulled me to the floor and pinned me down. Then I looked over at my arm, and it appeared to be lying there detached from my body! I wavered between logically asking my husband what this phenomenon was that I was experiencing and being frightened that it might be true. Wondering if this happened to anyone else."

Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "After two days of lower back spasms that were increasingly getting worse to where I was having trouble walking, on a pain scale of 1-10 it was 9/10, so I decided to seek medical help. I was prescribed Norflex as a muscle relaxant in 100 mg tablet form. The first dose was in the evening to be taken with Paracetamol and the second dose the next morning. After one day, the spasms are no longer severe and the pain is bearable, 5/10. This medication has been amazing for me, the only side effect is a very dry mouth."

For Migraine "I use one 50 mg tablet of this muscle relaxant along with one or two Naproxen Sodium (Aleve) tablets as a first-line regiment to break an initial starting migraine. For some early/mild migraines, this can give relief. When not caught early (within 1 hr) or it is a moderate migraine, the second-line regiment includes a 2nd Orphenadrine dose and a 50 mg Tramadol (Ultram), which usually provides relief in addition to lying down, relaxing in a dark, quiet, cool room. Strong migraines use a third-line regiment of a 2nd Tramadol, coffee (caffeine), warm shower/bath, foot/hand massage, soothing music, as well as a dark, quiet, cool room."

For Muscle Spasm "Good medicine for muscle pain. Side effects feel like taking NyQuil, but wear off in a few days. I have heart failure, and for some reason, Orphenadrine also eliminated my constant heart palpitations/PVCs. A nice surprise!"

For Muscle Spasm "Very expensive and does absolutely nothing to stop spasms or muscle pain, not even a very mild headache. Get more relief out of an 81 mg baby aspirin. Everyone I asked about this drug says it's worthless."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed orphenadrine 100 mg, one tablet twice a day for severe hip pain and muscle spasm in my leg. I can only handle taking one, and I usually take it at night because I can't sleep from the severe pain. It is so amazing how it works for the pain and the spasm, the next day, I feel nothing. I make sure to get lots of sleep because it does make you tired and drink plenty of water, as I get dehydrated from it. It isn't addictive."
