Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "I have been suffering from serious spasms in my trapezius muscles for at least 3 months, tried many products as well as home remedies. Nothing really solved my problem, just temporary relief from pain. Got Norflex from my local pharmacy, took one tablet last night before bedtime, and already I can feel a huge difference. No side effects. It looks like I have found a solution to my constant neck and upper back pains."

For Muscle Spasm "Not all generic versions of orphenadrine agree with me. I have given instructions to my pharmacist to only provide one kind of generic. So maybe that is why others have not been helped by this drug. This muscle relaxer works very well for me when I am in a bad flare-up of pain. I have rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and degenerative neck and spine, also sciatic pain. Pain all over. I only use it when absolutely necessary along with tramadol or diclofenac - the only meds I use for pain. No dizziness nor nausea or creepy side effects. My Medicare Advantage plan will not pay for it. I pay out of pocket. The pain specialist who prescribed it to me is retired now, so I cannot get a script for it. I am seeing another pain doctor next week and hope they will RX it for me."

For Muscle Spasm "I have severe osteoarthritis of hip, knee, and spine. This medicine has minimized the spasm I get in my right hip and the spasm and nerve pain from sciatic nerve compression in the right leg. Helps with 'restless leg' also."

For Muscle Spasm "After several years of Flexeril, Baclofen, Soma, etc., my doctor decided to try orphenadrine. I fell as a teen and cracked several vertebrae, DDD, osteoarthritis, sciatica, along with neuromuscular demyelination and four (4) herniated lumbar disks. Two failed surgeries caused part of the problems (scar tissue removal around the nerves). The muscle spasms and sciatica are very intense, orphenadrine is leaps and bounds over everything other than Soma. Like many others, Soma just puts me out. Two 100 mg caps a day, along with three Baclofen (and my other meds), has made a tremendous difference."

For Muscle Spasm "Did not experience any bad side effects whatsoever. It didn't 'cure' my lower back pain but made it almost unnoticeable. I took one pill/tablet shortly before I went to sleep at night. My back problem cleared up in about 3 days, which is unheard of for me."

For Muscle Spasm "The orphenadrine is the best medication I've taken to relieve my modest muscle spasms in both thighs, sciatica, bulging back and neck discs, fibromyalgia. I was so happy and pain-free until the morning of the 3rd day. I took 100 mg at 8 am, by 11 am, I felt weird. I tried lifting my head, it felt like my body was detached. Everything I did was in slow motion: forgetfulness, little stuttering, dry mouth. I felt like this for two days. I decided to stay home, not drive, and drank lots of water to flush out the meds. I started to feel better after the 3rd day and was back to normal on the 4th day. If it wasn't for the side effects, I would have finally found the perfect med. I give it a 10."

For Muscle Spasm "I started having severe lower back pain in 1995 and was prescribed Flexeril at the time. I ended up staying on it until 2009. My new doctor decided to take me off it for 3 months, and I ended up in the ER with my back in severe pain, every 3 weeks like clockwork. They decided to try the orphenadrine at 100 mg. I take it once a day in the morning, and I haven't felt so good in all the years. I was on the Flexeril 40 mg. I don't know how long it will keep working, but I've been taking one a day for a whole month now, and I'm about to run out with no refills. I'm very nervous about the pain coming back, but for now, I give this medicine a thumbs up."

Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "I have had tight neck and shoulder muscles with cervicogenic headaches for 25 years, along with arthritis in my neck, and have tried everything to ease the pain. I saw a specialist who gave me Norflex. I started on 1/2 tablet (50 mg) once a day for 7 days, and my neck pain reduced dramatically, and I haven’t had any headaches. I then increased the dose to 1 tablet (100 mg) as recommended by my doctor. After the 3rd day, I had a massive panic attack that lasted about half a day. I couldn’t stop shaking and had trouble catching my breath. I felt anxious and agitated. It was very scary, and I ended up in the emergency room for a few hours. I have gone back to the 1/2 tablet, and hopefully my body will adjust to the medication over time, as it’s the only thing that has helped my condition."

For Migraine "I suffered for years, this is the only medicine that got rid of my migraines. Everything else just calmed the migraines down, but they did not go away. I also found it worked for seasickness, I would get violently sick even on mild water. Now I can enjoy the ocean. I now will be the only one not sick on rough days. I take it with an aspirin and caffeine pill. If you find it doesn't work, you might have to up the dose."

Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "I can't say it has really made any difference. However, once I started taking 1x 100 mg at night and 1x 50 mg in the morning, my eyesight has been affected, my hands are shaking, and my anxiety is next level. I also can't focus on any daily important tasks. I have herniated disks in my back, hip, and knee pain issues."

For Muscle Spasm "Took 50 mg - cut a 100 mg ER pill in half for muscle relief a few weeks after a minor car accident. Am 125 pounds. Over 20 hours later, still affected by droopiness, tiredness, and mild headache. Took a long walk and could barely get through it, ended up falling asleep in the afternoon. On the plus side, muscle and joint pain was negligible today. However, also couldn't think or do much either. Would not take again."

For Muscle Spasm "I was in a car accident that jerked my back and neck all out of whack and was having terrible muscle spasms worse than when I would pull my back out on my own. I went to the walk-in medical center and was prescribed these instead of Flexeril for once. Right after I took the first pill, it was amazing relief about an hour later. I couldn’t believe it!"

For Muscle Spasm "6 days of 2 pills a day, and it ended me in the hospital with extreme vomiting, nausea, swollen feet, dizziness. Eventually, a stomach ulcer was found. 5 days in the hospital, lost 5 kgs over a week, now 51 kgs. I would never recommend it to anyone."

For Muscle Spasm "I had pneumonia and bronchitis, which caused me to pull a muscle in my chest. This caused panic attacks, so the hospital prescribed me Norflex 100 mg. I've taken this now 3x, all of which has caused light-headedness, headaches, upset stomach, and tightening of my chest. I have had panic attacks when this was given to help ease them. Scary for me."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been through every muscle relaxer, and for me, orphenadrine has been the one that helps the best. It's an older medication and sometimes hard to find, and some insurances don't like covering it. But it's really worth the 30 bucks I pay per month."

For Migraine "I was prescribed this for my migraines and slight muscle spasms. The first day after taking it, I was having frequent urination, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, hot flashes, and confusion. I continued taking it for 7 days, but the side effects became worse. Nausea turned to vomiting. Eyes became so blurry I couldn't read anymore. My arms and face started getting tremors, and I was having pressure in my face. I started getting extreme episodes of anxiety. I discontinued the medication, and everything has slowly gotten better. It's been about 11 days, and I still am dealing with the nausea, but everything else has almost gone away. Just nausea and tremors still remain."

For Migraine "Have been using orphenadrine for migraine for several years. I use a 100 mg ER tablet with 1000 mg acetaminophen. It is the only thing that has consistently worked on my migraines without major side effects. It is inexpensive and non-addictive but not used much in the US. I had suffered for years with migraines, had been on atenolol with some decrease in the number, but it exacerbated asthma. I discovered this medication while living in the Philippines, and it has been a lifesaver. Fortunately, I have migraines only 2 to 3 times per month. I do not know how it would work with intractable migraines."

For Muscle Spasm "I am so thankful these orphenadrine exist. For years I have had neck and shoulder pain to the point of bad headaches! NOTHING made it better. Doc put me on 5 mg Lexapro after trying everything else. When taking Lexapro on the lowest dose, it is actually more of a pain reliever. Took this, but still got it in and off. One day I had very bad lower back pain and was prescribed Norgesic. OMG HEAVEN!!!!! Seriously! Changed my life. I am reading a lot about anxiety on here, and I have had anxiety forever, but I have to say this does not cause any anxiety for me... seems like it’s made it better, so it’s odd about the anxiety... I have absolutely no side effects! Anyway, it is a lifesaver for me xx."

For Muscle Spasm "Given in ER for sciatica, was wheeled in, then walked out. First time can sit in a chair in 2 weeks. I worry about blood pressure high, but Dr. says from pain, no pain, but normal pulse 65 to 80, now 105 to 109. Was given Norco for pain, but get very sick. Can use Tylenol instead."

For Migraine "I was first given this medicine for intractable migraines at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago. The headaches were so severe that I could not even lay my head on a pillow. After treatment with Orphenadrine Citrate 60 mg IM every 6 hours. No more migraines. I maybe have to take it once a month. When they occur... it takes care of them. This is adjunct emergency medicine, I might add. They placed me on Verapamil 180 SA once a day and Keppra at night. So far so good. Headache-free for the first time in over 15 months. My doctor there was great."

For Migraine "So I used to take this like once or twice a week as needed, and it would help. But one day I had really bad head pain and was freaking out it wouldn’t go away. I took one pill Friday night, Saturday I took one in the morning and one at night, then Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon, all of a sudden I couldn’t see properly, it was freaking me out. Then by Sunday night, I had intense anxiety-like I suffer from anxiety but never ever like I did with this med-and it lasted 3 days, with INTENSE panic attack for 27/4. I can’t even explain. After a few days, the intense anxiety lifted but turned into just regular anxiety, and all the while, I got this weird lightheaded dizzy feeling in my head. I still have the anxiety and lightheadedness, and it’s been 2 weeks. I’m praying it goes away soon. I guess from taking so much this all happened because I would take it once or twice a week and never experienced the feelings I got. Never taking another one again though."

For Muscle Spasm "I was first prescribed Orphenadrine (ORP) (in the form of Norgesic tablets) 30 years ago (in 1994) for relief from lower back pain. I had surgery performed in 1998 (to repair 3 damaged vertebrae disks), in 2000 (for 1), and in 2016 (for 7). I continue to take ORP 100mg ER tablets once, and sometimes twice a day (and occasionally two tablets together, as needed) for very satisfactory relief from pain and terrible muscle spasms. I have NEVER experienced any adverse side effects when taking this medication. For the record, over the many years, with the perspective of lowering RX pricing costs, I have alternately tried using doctor-suggested cyclobenzaprine, baclofen, and diclofenac. The effectiveness of the ORP 100mg ER tablets has worked the best for me. Based on my 30 years of experience, I rate it a 10, on a scale of one to 10, for its effectiveness. Out of the blue, three weeks ago, my insurer denied my 90-day Rx renewal. I have appealed. If denied, I will find a new Rx plan."

Orphenadrine for Muscle Spasm "I received a 60 mg Norflex intramuscular injection due to a pulled muscle in my shoulder blade around 3 pm. About half an hour after receiving the shot, I was very sleepy after getting home and slept for six hours. When I woke, I had hives all over my body and went to the ER, where they gave me IV Benadryl and IV Pepcid (some kind of steroid). The rash dimmed a little, so they sent me home with prescribed EpiPens, Benadryl, and a steroid. Got home around midnight and went to sleep after taking my meds. When I woke the next morning, I was covered in hives again but twice as many, so I went back to the ER when they told me this could last up to five days. I'm on day three now, my entire body feels all bruised with itchy hives. I'm not allergic to anything."

For Muscle Spasm "I have loved this med, orphenadrine, and I do not like taking meds unless I need them. Orphenadrine is perfect as I have no side effects from it. I only take it when I’m going to be driving or standing for long periods of time. Sometimes I also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen with it, but mostly I take it alone. I’ve taken it since 2011, and it has greatly helped me. I probably average 3-5 pills per month. I have seen people who take meds every day get discouraged because their meds stop working. Mine always works, but I ONLY take it when necessary. I have a large pain tolerance, and I have a lot of pain, so when I say it works, it does."
