For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I have real events and false memory OCD, as well as GAD. My thoughts were running wild, I couldn't sleep more than 4 hours, and I was constantly giving in to my compulsions. After being hospitalized, I was prescribed Zyprexa. It worked almost immediately. That night, I was finally able to sleep a whole night, I got my appetite back, and my anxiety/thoughts were finally dampened to where I could function. I was on 2.5 mg, now up to 5 mg. Thank God for Zyprexa."

For Insomnia "After having tried just about every medication, Zyprexa is the one that kept me asleep. Of course, there are some mornings I wake up early, like about 4-5 in the morning. Those nights are rare. As far as weight gain, it hasn't been an issue. And I wish everybody the best of luck while taking these medications, because finding the right fit takes lots of patience :)"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I am 5'3' tall and weigh 94 lbs. I was prescribed several different antidepressants over a span of ten years along with Klonopin 1 mg tid and Remeron 45 mg at bedtime for anxiety. I finally decided to see a psychiatrist, and she put me on 2.5 mg of Zyprexa at bedtime. Just one dose, and I was a completely different person! I woke up rested, smiling, happy, energized, and with a sense of well-being again! This drug was like night and day for me! I am now on day 5, and I just keep feeling better! I am doing things I never dreamed I would and was able to get the job I've always wanted! For me, Zyprexa has truly changed my life, and I hope it helps others the way it has helped me! The only side effect I've had is increased appetite (which I needed). :)"

For Insomnia "This medicine has made me gain a lot of weight due to the fact that I get hungry about 2 hours after taking it. After eating, I always pass out and sleep through the night until I have to wake up for my job at 7 a.m. I have been taking this medication for two years now, so I do not wake up groggy and foggy. This medication, to me, is a lifesaver for putting me to sleep and keeping me asleep. Just be careful with the night hungers! Other than that, I would totally recommend the medication if you can't sleep at night."

For Depression "This medication is a great sedative, if that's what you're looking for. It's not euphoric, it just makes you sleepy. But it caused me to gain over 40 pounds in less than 2 months. I now get depressed just looking in the mirror. My doctor says it just makes you hungry, not gain weight, but the amount of weight I gained in such a short time is unnatural!"

For Schizophrenia "I started taking Zyprexa 10 mg in 1996 until 2017, which is when I began tapering due to health reasons. I am now down to 2.5 mg but have gained a lot of weight, pain in joints, inability to sleep well, anxiety for no reason, memory loss, inability to think, no motivation, crying for no reason, terrible pain in my arms, muscle cramps in my feet, pancreatitis, constant eating, lack of feelings and enjoyment. Extremely difficult to get off it, it ruined my life!"

For Bipolar Disorder "I am a 19-year-old girl and I have bipolar disorder 2 and suffer from anxiety and depression, so my doctor prescribed 10mg Zyprexa daily. I had HORRIBLE side effects. In four months, I gained 20 kg, developed cystic acne, and my thinking was slow and foggy. Any self-confidence I had or pride in my appearance evaporated completely. The worst part is I still had the anxiety and the depression (although I didn't expect an antipsychotic to help with depression). I'm so glad I'm not on it anymore. Zyprexa was definitely not for me."

For Bipolar Disorder "It can take your life. You will need to take this for the rest of your life, or your head will be haywire and thoughts will never stop, it will make you schizophrenic. RUN. I had mild bipolar, and my greedy psychiatrist gave me the worst mental illness in a bottle. If you take it, don't stop, just taper off and see if you can stop permanently. Most likely, you won't be able to."

For Depression "I have been on this medication for about 3 weeks now. I wake up hungry, drenched in sweat, and have also gained 15 pounds. I'm thinking about getting off this medication. I have also had crying spells, irritability, and mood swings, then some other days I have felt fine. It's weird. I'm going to give it a few more weeks, and if nothing improves as far as my moods, I will get off of it."

For Depression "Was on Zyprexa from Mar 2015 till Aug 2015. At first, it seemed like it was mellowing me out a bit, and I could sleep through the whole night, which was an improvement. After a few months, I noticed my depression was getting much worse. Came off the drug cold turkey, and went through one of the most serious withdrawals one could face. Depression, severe anxiety, PTSD, night terrors took over. To this day Apr 2016, I have still not returned to the way I was before I started taking this horrible drug. Depression and anxiety are still bad, not as bad as 6 months ago, but still worse than when I first started taking it. I'm convinced this drug can cause permanent brain damage."

For Schizophrenia "I've been taking Zyprexa for just over a year now and have seen dramatic improvements in my life. I used to be incredibly paranoid of people, was hearing voices, and was delusional about my physical health. I'm on 20 mg of Zyprexa, and most of my symptoms have cleared. Some of them remain, but they're much more tolerable than they used to be. The only drawbacks I have noticed are weight gain and slowed reactions, but I'd rather live through those side effects than experience what I did before treatment."

For Depression "I have never been a fan of antidepressants as I feel they are a bandaid for underlying problems. I am starting to think differently. My doctor put me on 2.5 mg along with 0.5 Xanax. After years of feeling depressed and hopeless, I now have more energy, sleep well at night, waking up feeling great. I have also gained weight, which I needed to do. I give Zyprexa 10 stars."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I was prescribed Zyprexa as a one-pill cure for my OCD, insomnia, anxiety, and manic mood disorder. I am steadily increasing the Zyprexa dosage, starting with 2.5mg. At 5mg, I can state that my OCD is practically gone. I still have the desire to keep things orderly, but I am not getting frustrated or angry. I can now leave things to do for another day without obsessing over and over in my mind. No changes for the insomnia or anxiety at this dosage. I will post as the dosage increases and the symptoms are relieved. I have no negative effects to report at 5mg Zyprexa."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been on olanzapine for 5 years. Keeps my mood stable, no irritability, no heavy sinking terrible depression. I went off it for only four months without a doctor's permission, and I went manic, talking too much, lots of energy, extremely painful headaches, and delusions of people trying to check me out, little nagging voices that scared me and annoyed me. Psychosis. All the other bipolar people I met at the psych hospital didn't have psychosis. I only shared the psychosis experience with one man with schizophrenia. Mind you, this medicine, for me at 10 mg, really works effectively for my severe case of mania, depression, and psychosis, all in one full swoop. Once I'm stable, I can function just like any other person, just carrying a heavy body around from when my body metabolism acts up on the medicine from age 16-19. Now, at age 21, weight is pretty stable. This medicine DOES work. But you should only use it if it's for a case like mine."

For Bipolar Disorder "I was diagnosed in 1989. I was an 18-year-old boy at the time. After several years of misdiagnosis, I was diagnosed in the mid-'90s with bipolar disorder. I've been on a lot of different medications, most I don't remember very well. But in 2003, I was hospitalized for one month and put on Zyprexa. I got my life back, I am now married, own my own home, and have my own business. I am now where I want to be. The downside is I went from 180 lbs to 240 lbs in 5 years. I am now borderline diabetic, and my cholesterol level is very high. I am now not on Zyprexa. The medicine did the job it is supposed to, but my doctor and I are looking for a medication similar to Zyprexa without the weight gain."

For Schizophrenia "I feel very sleepy, very tired. I got a brain tumor. It might be a side effect of Zyprexa or hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill. Because of Zyprexa, I gained a lot of weight and got high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol."

For Bipolar Disorder "OK, I've been on Zyprexa going on 7 months at 20 mg a day, and it's the best thing I've done to get help with bipolar disorder. The only downfall is the weight gain, but for me to stay sane and be happy, it's worth it. Since being on Zyprexa, I've been able to socialize again with other people and do not stay in my bedroom all day and night. Thank God for helping me."

For Bipolar Disorder "Zyprexa is the only antipsychotic that doesn’t make me feel like a zombie! I kept my personality and my energy. It almost feels like I don’t take an antipsychotic. I take 7.5 mg, because my psychiatrist told me that when you take less than 10 mg daily, the risk of metabolic syndrome is low. It’s very good for treating mania and it augments the effect of my antidepressant. The only downside is that it’s a little bit difficult to wake up."

For Depression "I have taken 5 mg Zyprexa with 40 mg of Prozac for 2 years. I use it for BPD and anorexia. It has made me gain 20 kg (42 lb), which I desperately needed. It has really helped with my mood and my energy. It does make me snore loudly, which is difficult for my partner, but they see such an improvement in my body and mind on them that we will just sleep in different rooms when I snore! Zyprexa may not be for everyone, but for me, it saved my life and gave me such comfort and calmness in my mind."

For Schizophrenia "I was given 20 mg Zyprexa in the hospital. This drug is horrible. The side effects hit me hard: severe dizziness, dry mouth. Now down to 5 mg, I feel like my life is draining out of me with sweats, dizziness, trouble doing anything. It's not like I just dropped to 5 mg. I went 7 days at 20 mg, 7 days at 15 mg, 7 days at 10 mg, 7 days at 7.5 mg, and I'm currently on 5 mg a day, and I feel like screaming. I wish I had never been introduced to this med. Sorry."

For Schizophrenia "It has some initial side effects like feeling dizzy. But all in all, after more than 7 years, I totally like the drug. I have been on 5 mg for about 5 years now. I took 5 mg all through my pregnancy based on doctor's advice, and I gave birth to a healthy baby girl 2 years ago. I was also able to breastfeed because the drug was not found in my breast milk due to the low dosage I was using, according to the doctor's report."

For Depression "I have never written a review, but what I am experiencing is something I do not wish on anyone. Please listen to what I am saying before it is too late for you. The first thing I want to point out is that they say this drug is not addictive. I will tell you that is the biggest crock I have ever heard. It is beyond addicting. You cannot just stop it. The nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, depression, mania, insomnia, desire to just die to get this over with, shaking, you feel cold and hot at the same time. The withdrawals are unbearable, so naturally people keep taking it. The only solution I see to this is to find a rehab for this and have professionals help me through this. I should have never been placed on this drug to begin with. I needed to gain weight. But to give me one of the strongest antipsychotics for that is criminal. Sure, I gained 40 pounds, but I have no life. No desire to live. No focus. No motivation. Nothing. If you are not psychotic, do not take this poison."
