"Omg. What a horrible drug. I was prescribed this along with lamproserol to ease my osteoarthritis pain in my upper back. I only took them for three days. It gave me the worst heartburn ever and terrible acid reflux. I will never take them again."

"Naproxen 500 mg twice daily was the first medication to give me relief. The pain stopped, the itching stopped, I felt great! I am medication sensitive, so I was pleasantly surprised. After about two weeks, my eyesight became blurry. In one eye, my dry macular degeneration changed to wet. I am now receiving shots in my eye. The retina doctor does believe the progression was caused by the medication. I can no longer take it, still need relief and miss this."

"I have taken 2-3 Naproxen 500 mg weekly for about 7 years for osteoarthritis in my feet, knees, and back, and can honestly say if it wasn’t for Naproxen, I don’t think I would be mobile. I limit my tablets to avoid any side effects, and they really ease the pain. After a couple of days, I start feeling pain and stiffness and can hardly walk, so I know my next tablet is due. I think they are a great pain reliever. I am 73 and on good days very active…thank you, Naproxen."

"Osteoarthritis, knees. Couldn't sleep through pain and prescribed naproxen three times daily. A wonder pill for the pain, but I only take it as required after hearing about the various side effects. Good, if you can use it with caution."

"I have mild arthritis, which gives me pain primarily in my hands, wrists, and ankles. I take (2) 220 mg naproxen sodium before I walk 9 holes of golf in western PA, which involves serious hills. I think it definitely helps me but wonder how long before I anticipate golfing I should take the naproxen sodium: 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours?"

Naproxen "Dear Aleve, Your packaging is a total fail. I had to take the pliers to the bottle to get into it (it's very accommodating now). Then I had to take my contacts out and hunt for some reading glasses to see how many pills to take for a dose. The newly swallowed pills have not yet worked on the pain, so I have no way of deciding - at this point - if your product is worth the bother."

"I started taking naproxen in 1992. I'd take 2 in the morning, 2 at noon or so, and 2 at bedtime for years, then increased the dosage to a 500 mg prescription morning and night. I have taken over-the-counter naproxen for years, then I started prescription naproxen. Doctors tried to switch me to other meds, even injections, and nothing has ever come close to taking away the pain other than naproxen. I always had stomach issues and acid reflux… I was addicted. I weaned myself off of it in 2022. Now I have pains and don’t sleep well at all. I started having heart issues in 2022 also… the doctor hasn’t said it’s from naproxen, but my whole family has heart issues, so I suspect hereditary, but who knows. Anyway, I love naproxen because it effectively eliminates most of my pain and allows me to live a relatively pain-free life. Nothing has ever compared to the relief it provides. However, since I haven't taken naproxen in a while, I can tell that it affects my stomach. I experience acid reflux as a result."
