Movantik (naloxegol) "Last year I had both my hips replaced (at 2 separate times) and was prescribed opioids. Within days I had horrible constipation, tried the over the counters first suggested by my surgeon with no relief. I addressed this with my surgeon during my followup visit and asked him about Movantik, I remember seeing the commercial. He stated that he never heard of it before, looked it up and gave me a script. Took Movantik the next morning by that evening I had my first bowel moment and felt so much better. I did experience a little cramping but I would take that over the constipation any day. Was only on my opoid for two weeks so stopped the Movantik at the same time. I was just shocked how my surgeon had never heard of Movantik before."

Movantik (naloxegol) "My Gastroenterologist put me on Movantek 1 time a day for OIC. This is day 5 and I've been to the bathroom 3 times. Ugh! I was hoping this was going to be the "magic bullet" I've been searching for. I've tried EVERY stool softener, laxative out there from the cheapest to the most expensive, including enemas & suppositories. To my dismay this isn't working well. When I do have a bowel movement it's a couple hard balls. Nothing complete or simple. I STILL have to strain and lucky to go 3 times a month!! I just had a hysterectomy and no straining allowed. So, back to searching. I have NOT and will NOT have withdrawal symptoms due to the fact it works in the gut NOT the brain and it will NOT block your opioid pain meds from working. 51 yo fem."

Movantik (naloxegol) "When I asked my doctor for help with my opioid-induced constipation she originally called in Relistor, my insurance flat out refused to cover it without me trying movantik first, at first it didn't do anything much, I had her increase the strength and that did the trick, and within a day or two I finally went to the bathroom. While I do not use the bathroom every day I am using it every other day, which is a big improvement. Whereas before I could go a week without using it, and I was miserable, I would recommend this medication. I suggest that you give it a try. It may take a while for it to start working and it might also require a higher dose. It has been a lifesaver for me."

Movantik (naloxegol) "Paramedic injured on the job in 2003, I've been diagnosed with 8 herniated disc, 2 torn rotator cuffs. MOVANTIC DID cause withdrawal from my max dose of 60mg Oxycodone 15mg 4x day) MDs and pain management Stat due to pain related to my injuries I will be on opioids the rest of my life. With that said, my constipation has gotten worse requiring a Fleet for every BM. June 22nd the fleet stopped working. So I had to use Magnesium Citrate everyday. Went to GI doctor July 27th 2021 diagnosed with O I C , I was given sample of MOVANTIC. I took a pill at lunchtime and 4 hours later I had a Norma soft BM, 2hrs later I had a second BM with no fleet use. I can't do withdrawal and pain of 10/10 every day so it will be every few days. I can't pay the $500 a month for an O I C medication and I can't walk when detoxed (2X) so I suffer for doing my job, as I'm not a drug abuser."

Movantik (naloxegol) "I been on oxys for almost a year now and started to have major constipation, tried every laxative too, some help but they told me "it's not good to be taking laxatives everyday due to how hard it is on kidneys." So she put me on movantik and it work in the first hour, but have stomach cramps and spasms and the effects from my medication is not effective even tho I took two 15s of oxys. It feels like I'm starting to withdrawal a Lil bit. Praying it gets better tomorrow but at least I poop my guts out, I should be good for the few days. Good luck everybody pray all works out good for you guys. There's just gotta be another way."

"I have been on oxycodone 30 mg X6 for 8 years and the last 2-3 years started having major constipation. It was like passing a boulder. Terribly painful. I received samples of Movantik from my doctor and finally decided to try it once other remedies failed. After I swallowed the Movantik I started searching for reviews and found all these people being put into immediate withdrawal. I was terrified. About an hour later I was able to go to the bathroom. It emptied me completely. Months worth of backup. I felt amazing. There was some cramping and I was a little flushed but that’s it. I woke up the next day feeling incredible. I feel awful for those that had a bad experience. I was one of the fortunate ones that it worked for."

Movantik (naloxegol) "Prior to starting Movantik, I had been placed in the emergency room twice due to severe constipation. I was miserable day in, day out. I felt like crying! Miralax didn't work, stool softeners failed, suppositories didn't change anything. I was ironically scared sh*tless about starting Movantik due to the reviews here. I looked into it more and more, and it turns out that the cause of severe abdominal pain and withdrawal that some people experience is due to a very specific type of medication. If you take a medicine that is a CYP3A4 inhibitor, DO NOT TAKE MOVANTIK. You can Google '(name of medicine) and CYP3A4' to find out. If you take Movantik with one of those inhibitors, you are a lot more likely to experience bad symptoms. If none of yours are, give Movantik a try, but please make sure, no matter what strength they prescribe you, try 12.5mg at first. After trying 12.5mg, I found that it was enough to give me a consistent, daily bowel movement. No need to move up to the 25mg :)"

Movantik (naloxegol) "I've been on an Opioid Patch since 2017 for a back with 6 screws in it plus another stenosis just below that repair. Constant constipation combined with a lousy pain management office have given me fits. Finally, a new office opened in my area! She has been wonderful. The history reported by the first pain Dr. was wrong, so she almost didn't try the one that works; we went through several others. I've only been on Movantik for 5 days, and I worry that it will stop working. I've had bad times; one time I was so blocked up they had to do manual evacuations, so painful. Then I bit the bullet and tried the SUPER expensive med. That didn't work. Movantik 12.5 didn't, but 25 mg did work the very first day. I am so thankful. No appointment for 3 weeks, and I'm wondering if I should take every other day so my body doesn't get used to it, and I go back to having those awful problems. I have minor withdrawal symptoms, but manageable and so much better than being blocked up."
