Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Right after inserting the cream, I felt burning and pain to a degree that I could not have predicted or imagined, especially since this isn't my first time using it and I didn't have this reaction before. After a couple of hours, it feels somewhat better, but damn, I wanted to take my skin off just to get relief."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Using this product is extremely painful! The package insert said to expect mild discomfort. It feels like my vagina and rectum are burning up or being eaten by fire ants. I tried peeing to get the medicine out of me and make the pain go away. I have a high pain tolerance (given birth numerous times without pain meds), and I am telling you, this medicine HURTS. I hate it and hope no one else has to use it."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "The itching is very, very intense about 5 minutes after you use it. It goes away (I've used it before) this same reaction happened last time, and I'm sure this is how the product works. After my 1-day treatment, my infection went away! It's a good product and gets the job done. Although I could do without the mad itching feeling... It really does help, you just have to get over the few hours of pain and itching."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Holy Moly. How is this product still on shelves? It needs a warning label. “This will cause your vagina to feel like it’s on actual fire for hours.” I’ve used this product years ago, and it was never ever like this. I wish I had read these warnings here before I used it because I would have stayed clear. Worst pain ever!!!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "No. Never again. Do not self-prescribe and take Monistat-1 as an easy way out. It feels like fire ants and acid were poured straight into my coochi hole. From my reading, it seems everyone has varying reactions. As I sit here with a cold washcloth on my cooter, and after 30 minutes screaming and sobbing in pain, I would recommend you take your itchy vag to the OB/GYN. Would not even recommend even to Lucifer."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took this 2 hours ago, and I feel like this is double suicide! It burns so much and is so itchy! This pain is worse than going into labor! I hope whoever invented this rots in hell and gets a giant satan fork shoved in the ass! I took a shower and wiped so many times, but it didn't help! I also took a shower, and that didn't help either! I'm going to take 100 cubes of ice in a zip-lock bag and try to relax! I recommend eating lots of yogurt! This thing is horrible!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm so happy I found these reviews! I've always bought the generic brand, and I never felt like this! But after Monistat 3, oh my gosh, my vagina is on fire, what the?! It's been 6 hours, and I took a cold bath to make it better; okay, it's a little better... Don't put the cream on the outside; it makes it worse. Debating if I want to go through this pain for 2 more days... but assuming it's burning because it's working? I wonder why it never burned with the generic brand? Good luck, girls."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve been doing this treatment for only three days. Every night after I shower, I insert the cream. The first 15-20 minutes are the worst - burning, itching, and irritation. The first time I used this product, there was absolutely no pain, a little discomfort considering it was my first time. I don’t know why this is hurting so much, I’m going to research the ingredients to see what might be causing this. I’m experiencing the pain right now, it’s awful, I want to rinse it out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Worst cream out there!!! I've used this before, and it never burned/itched as much as it did this time. Once I inserted the cream, the pain and the itch were so incredibly ridiculous. I felt better before this, and this is marketed for itch relief. How is that??? I don't know how this is even still on the market to be sold. Please, please don't use!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "What in God’s holy name is in this product? This is not a rhetorical question-I actually want answers, and not what is listed on the packaging, because I know damn well there’s some sort of burning ingredient in here. Instant burning, throbbing, itching... the most painful sensation within seconds of inserting the medication. I had to run to the shower and jumped in before it was even remotely warm, as if I were on fire. Thirty minutes later, I am in tears because the pain is so unreal. Take this off of the shelves!!!!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used Monistat 7 on multiple occasions, but it has probably been close to 20 years since I have done so. It always burned or itched a little more intensely right after application, but the good outweighed the bad, and overall it was definitely worth it. This time, I’m not so sure. I did the first application about 35 minutes ago, and I am absolutely about to lose my mind. The itch/burn is so intense that I don’t even know what to do with myself. I have been breathing as if I am in labor in an attempt to refrain from using a back scratcher on my vagina. My symptoms were at about a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1-10. I was going to knock this out early! I have had far worse in the past... if you are reading this before trying, DO NOT DO IT. ABORT MISSION!!! Go see your doctor and refuse to use this over-the-counter medication. Your vagina will thank you. As for me, it has now been about 50 minutes since I used it. The excruciating pain is now almost bearable."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have tried the ovule and the cream, and thought the ovule would burn less, but as soon as it begins to break down and seep out, it burns like lava, and it doesn't go away for over an hour. I have to get it out for the pain to stop. The cream, forget it, that was awful from the start. I am baffled why it makes the pain worse. It is an intense, lasting burning. If you're lucky enough that it doesn't bother you, then I hope it clears everything up for you. I have used the ovule before and a topical cream before in my life and did not have this problem. I tried both Monistat and Vagistat, same problem. I have no idea what's changed. Just don't feel like a wimp if you too are feeling worse from using a medicine you thought would help, you aren't alone, and yeah, it really super hurts. I found that a clean washcloth with cool water to wipe off cream and then applying an ice pack wrapped in a towel helped. In the end, I think it did work to clear out the infection, but I also took probiotics and ate lots of yogurt."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve never felt more compelled to write a review. My vagina, within 5 minutes of insertion, immediately lit on fire. Like hot sauce got there and pain and itching like you can’t believe. I showered 3 times to get it out and now have a bag of frozen strawberries sitting on me. It’s baaaaarely helping. Sleep is not in sight. Thanks to the other reviews for making me feel not alone. I think there’s definitely something extremely wrong with the product and the possible side effect description. Not at all cool."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg, it burns! I used the 1-day. I didn't put the cream on, I did use the wipes to clean up, and then I put the ovule in as soon as I got home from the store. It was horrible, I thought it would be better when I woke up since they suggest putting it in at night. It was better until I took a shower and put the cream on. Now it feels like I have a fire down there. I think it's because it's such a fast treatment, but I'm going to call my doctor in the morning... Ugh, pain over a holiday is not fun."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It clearly says in the instructions that burning and itching will increase after the use of the product. My guess it's because the medicine is working and killing the bacteria, so don't be alarmed, especially if the doc tells you to get it. It's normal and just part of it. I know it sucks, but you just gotta be strong, baby girl, and whatever you do, don't panic, freak out, or be dramatic, it just makes things worse. Remain calm and bear through it. The most intense pain is within the first 5-10 minutes of application, but the burning and itching tremendously went down after a deep breath and quick meditation break, which helped my spirit get stronger, increased my pain tolerance and confidence, therefore calming my nerves and silencing the pain."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this product. You will suffer and regret it. I’m in so much pain from this Monistat, I’m so disgusted with this medication. I inserted it last night, and within a half hour, I was on fire down there. I have been trying to rinse with moistened cotton pads. I took a tramadol and Zyrtec to try and deal with the pain, with no relief. This product causes such suffering. I feel like there is acid inside of me. There are no instructions on what to do if this happens, for example, douche, shower, etc. I’m beyond furious. Shame on you, Monistat, there are so many people who have been affected like this. Shame on you!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am a very healthy 61-yr-old RN with 40+ years in LTC pharmacy and no YI for 30 years. My YI is directly related to a 7-day doxycycline dose for UTI, which was prescribed post-tonsillectomy (not able to swallow). I picked up miconazole-3 cream with the tiny tube for external relief. I have been recommending these products for years because when I was younger you had to suffer a week for a doctor appointment to get a RX for the same products. Last night this cream set me on fire! I am still holding my breath from the pain. NEVER AGAIN. Asking MD to call in RX for fluconazole tab STAT... So sorry I ever recommended this product. Something needs to be done to get it off the shelves."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently in an ice bath, crying and laughing and crying as I read all of your comments. This is seriously why women are so rad. Honestly, men would die if they experienced even half the amount of pain I’m experiencing right now. I’ve read, throw my vagina away, fire ants, holy hell... yes sister, I’m feeling the same. I’m 18 weeks pregnant, and this week has been a struggle. I called the 24-hour OB crying because it’s 2 a.m., and I actually was turning into a mad person. I’m discontinuing this immediately and going to cold compresses and trying to overdose on yogurt tomorrow. This was day three using Monistat 7, and it exponentially got worse. I feel for anyone here. The cold bath is helping a little. I wish you all well. Thank you for all the horrific but funny comments. You saved me from a dark place. Humor really can help in situations like this."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was the first time I've tried miconazole and got the 3-day applicator. My yeast infection gave me really bad swelling and burning, but shortly after using this product, the burning got so intense I couldn't sleep anymore. You couldn't pay me to finish days 2 and 3. Worst pain ever."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I noticed symptoms of a YI and went to get Monistat 3, a product I’ve used before that has worked for me. A minute after it was inserted, it burned like no other, this unbearable pain that had me calling my mom in tears. I showered it out as much as possible, but my vagina still has a leftover burn. Something must be new in their formula because it worked so well before. DO NOT USE!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I read these reviews and had a nice, hearty laugh. I've had a YI for almost a week now, and I've been using this, but I can't tell if it's working??? There is the same burning sensation all over again when I apply the cream to my vag, it's like fire. The pain is almost unbearable. Again, I can't tell if it burns because it's killing the yeast infection or because it wants to kill me :/"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I seriously feel like my vagina is beating through my chest. I had to question if I was going to have a heart attack using this cream. My vagina is on fire. And a very dull yet sharp achy hurting pain that is nonstop. I can feel the ache all the way up to my chest. Is this medicine even legal? I literally don't know if I can go to work like this. Why does it sting so bad?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought this cream thinking that it would be a simple way to get rid of my slight YI. But it amplified the pain more than I ever imagined it would. It started burning just a few minutes after inserting the tube, and the pain of it was unbearable. I tried to wait it out for a while just in case the pain would go away. I thought the burning could possibly be part of the healing process, but it was way too severe for that. I had to shower and rinse, and the burning has become more bearable, but is still there 2 hours later."
