Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "2:38 AM and the itching and burning is the worst thing ever! I thought, 'I'll just use it and go to bed'...NO! This isn’t what I signed up for! I can’t stop squealing around! I don’t wanna do this anymore!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have never written a review in my life! I bet whoever is reading this is in the same position we are all put in, looking to see if the fire-burning sensation in your vagina after using this is normal. Girl, join the club. I’ve had yeast infections before, I usually popped an Azo Yeast Plus, and that would relieve the symptoms, but this time I wanted to try something new. Immediately after inserting, I instantly regretted it. I was squirming and flinching as I felt shocks run up my vagina. After an hour of insane burning, itching, and tears, it’s safe to say my vagina hates me!!! Nothing helps! Not ice, not a shower, not a compress! The only thing that helps is reading all these reviews, knowing I’m not alone. Who invented this product? Can I sue? I want to throw my whole vagina away >:("

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "100% recommend! I was so itchy I wanted to scratch my vajayjay with a Brillo pad, it was horrible! Night 1: no burning or extra itch in sight. I have to say the stuff does leak out (expected), so wear a pantyliner. Night 2: feeling so much better than yesterday! Minimal itching compared to days before. Night 3: feeling like myself and so happy my friend got me this! Just a little irritated from scratching a few days before, but itching is pretty much gone! Yeeees!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I started taking a strong antibiotic, which caused me to get a yeast infection. I called my gyno, and the nurse recommended Monistat 7. I put it in last night as I was laying down for bed, and it did not bother me at all. I did get nervous because on the end of the stick was a little pink blood from inserting. I got up for work this morning at 6 and still not really anything. Then, around 9 o’clock at work, the itch has been horrible! I mean, I’ve never felt anything like this. It’s now 11, and it’s not as bad but a little irritable. I was starting to think there was something really wrong with me until I found this post and realized I’m not alone. If it makes it go away completely, then I’ll say it’s worth it."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Currently 8 months pregnant and have had mild YI symptoms for about 2 weeks at first. Then came the itching with swollen bits and the burn from itching. Around the time they first started, I told my doctor, and she recommended this. I was hesitant and thought maybe it would go away on its own, but it didn't. Now, I've taken Monistat 3 before I was pregnant and do NOT remember it being this bad. I just used my first dose of the 7-day treatment and my hootenanny is on 10!!!! The burning and itching are worse than it was before I took it!! I'm currently laying here, spread-eagle with a pillow under my butt. This is horrible. I'm not sure I can last 7 days using this."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am on night 4, 3 more nights of this intense itching after insertion of this devil's cream. If you can get through the itch, it lasts 30-40 minutes. It feels fine after that, it doesn't help on day 3 of my period. This is the first YI I've had, and I'm 46. I have no burning, but the itching, OMG!! It's mostly after I put the cream in, though. Just to think, I was excited about starting this cream too."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am in a literal living nightmare. I caught a yeast infection from sex with a lover, and I am laying in bed cursing both the day he was born and Monistat. This is an awful cream. My lady bits itch like I made love to poison ivy while simultaneously burning like a wildfire. I gave birth without drugs, and I would do it again before using this cream. So mad at my lover and Monistat 7."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I totally get what everyone is saying. Day 1 was THE WORST. After I applied it, I laid in bed almost crying because it was so uncomfortable. It was like a tingly, burning itch deep inside that I could not get to. My boyfriend thought I was dying, and I ended up in the shower rinsing it off. After talking to some coworkers who get them all the time, she said my vaginal area was probably so raw. I am currently sitting here on day 2. So much better! Just some mild itching! I promise it gets better! Stick with it, girls!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "DO NOT BUY!!! I’ve used this product for YEARS with much success - until last night! I had a mild YI (slight itch at night, thick white discharge, discomfort after peeing). I’ve obviously had a few YIs before, so I knew this was the start. I figured I would just buy the 1-day treatment and clear it up easy peasy. WRONG. They must have changed their formula because what I felt inside and out of my vagina was like fire. I inserted the cream about 11:30 last night, and less than a minute later, I felt what could have been someone dumping acid in my vagina. I’m talking the heat of flames. I used a towel to wipe excess off and ended up just counting numbers in my head to take my mind off the pain and eventually fell asleep. Thank God. This morning, I wake up, and while I’m not itching or have discomfort when I pee, the top outside of my vulva is ON FIRE!!! So here I am, writing a review as I have a cold water bottle and a fan blowing on my lady bits."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had my first YI in ten years and decided to get the Monistat 3-day treatment. I had been mildly itchy for 3 days prior, but nothing crazy. Within a few minutes of my first application, I experienced severe itching the likes of which I had never thought possible! I was writhing and moaning so badly for 30-40 minutes that my husband thought I was possessed. Thankfully, he researched that taking a Zyrtec minimizes the itchiness, and I took one and felt better but still itchy. It’s 2 a.m. now, and the only thing helping me cope is reading these reviews. I’m probably going to call my gyno tomorrow and get an appointment. I can’t take another night like this, and I’m sure my husband can’t either."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This was my first time ever getting a yeast infection. My symptoms included itching, irritation/swelling, cottage cheese-like discharge. I purchased Monistat 3 from the pharmacy. The first night using it, I honestly had no problems like what most of the reviews described. I still itched a little on the outer part of my vagina where I applied the cream, but after 2-3 minutes it subsided. The suppository did not burn or irritate the inside of my vagina. The next morning, I noticed a lot of clumpy discharge coming out. The second day I had no more of that discharge, still minor irritation and itching. On the 3rd day, no symptoms. Now, two days after taking the medicine, my vagina feels normal, and no symptoms have come back. Luckily, I had a positive experience, I would use this again if need be."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "If anyone is wondering how long it will take before symptoms start to improve, it took me 2.5 days before I experienced any improvement at all, and the itchiness started to subside. I'd used it twice (2 doses), and the itch got somewhat better about 4-5 hours before my 3rd dose of cream. The directions say to contact a doctor if you have no improvement after 3 days, so don't panic if you are well into 2 days and haven't improved. Also, I did experience some increased itching and burning that was uncomfortable on the first night (but not horrible), and it improves each night. I just inserted my 3rd dose, and the side effects tonight have not been bad at all. I did notice that Monistat makes an ointment treatment for sensitive skin that has a different active ingredient, so if you are very raw and irritated from your infection, you may want to consider looking for that. It seems that the more irritated and raw you are, the more the treatment will itch and burn."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is so messed up. Friday evening after a long work week, and now my vagina is ON FIRE. Just like one of the reviews said, I’m spread eagle using my handheld fan we used as giveaways for our wedding to calm down the BURNING and ITCHING. My YI wasn’t close to this bad. I hope this first application calms my YI down, 'cause I can’t bear six more days!! I will say reading these reviews helped distract me, and I don’t feel so alone on this crazy ride we women endure!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Don’t let the other comments scare you! I thought I had a yeast infection but waited about two days to be sure, meaning it developed to be pretty bad. I was concerned that it would burn (most people on here said it did... BAD) but the first night I had no burning. The itch increased slightly, but it was very bearable. The next day after night one, it was slightly itchier but definitely worth it. I am on day two, and all symptoms are almost completely gone!!! Will continue for the total time just in case, but definitely would recommend."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok everyone, I have frequent yeast infections, and I use Monistat 7 on a regular basis, and I get very bad yeast infections! If you insert and are okay for about 3 minutes, then it burns or itches for the first hour it is working!! It is painful, but it is curing it, trust me! Now, if it's a really bad yeast infection, you may need Diflucan! Also, another tip, ladies, use a nice cold water bottle in between your legs on your vagina and let it do its magic, it works and helps the itching, I promise. Also, eat lots of foods with probiotics!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Experiencing some itching and burning that got progressively worse, so I go to the doctor and get a YI diagnosis and decide to use OTC Monistat 3. Worst decision ever! 'Mild burning' equates to it would be more comfortable to take your whoha on a magical journey to the sun, being carried by fire ants and bees, and then return to the fiery gates of hell."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I just had to share my experience because everyone else's posts helped me so much! The severe itching and burning will subside a bit at some point. I just shook my legs and feet and lay down and watched my favorite show on Netflix to distract me from the burning sensation until it calmed down a bit! Distract yourself with your favorite show and squeeze and unsqueeze your leg muscle a bit."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It says on the box that the burning and itching will increase when you apply it. It stings because your vulva is extremely irritated by the infection. When the medicine is applied to the affected area, your suffering is going to get much worse for a few hours. I went through the same thing! Now (the next morning), I’m feeling a lot better. Do not take the 1-day version. That stuff is highly concentrated and will burn a lot worse than the 3-day or 7-day versions. Put it on and GO TO BED. Keep your legs open and avoid all friction. Pray, cry, and scream if you have to, but do not touch it. Surf the net on your phone or read a book to distract yourself. Nothing about yeast infections!!! If you can, take something that can help you sleep."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Listen!!! It’s 11:56 pm and I just went in the tub to wash out the Monistat 3 medicine! Day 1 was painful but bearable pain. Felt extreme itching and burning inside my vagina, and the discomfort was better without the treatment. Day two was similar, but I felt the infection going away by then. Day three, I felt I didn’t need the treatment, but I wanted to finish it off... Now I’m on here typing, giving my review!!! And I’m here laying in pain because it’s causing itching in my vagina that I never had!!! It feels like imbedded worms or fleshy parasites."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am in a burning and itching nightmare. I’ve used Monistat once years ago, and it was fine. I’m not sure if they’ve changed the ingredients or what, but I’m on the verge of tears right now. I took Monistat 1 tonight and woke up two hours later with SEVERE itching and burning. Ran to the bathroom and cleaned up, but it's just been worse sitting here. I started to think that maybe I was having an allergic reaction and considered going to the ER, so naturally, I googled my symptoms and found this site. First off, thank you, ladies, for sharing because now I know I’m not at the end of my life. Second, who decided this is a suitable product to treat YIs?? The way everyone else has described is perfect: volcano, fire ants, poison ivy, chili sauce. I’m literally squirming right now. Gonna go take a shower and hope it helps a tad. Doesn’t seem likely, but I can’t just sit here. Anyway, just go to your doctor, go to a walk-in clinic, get a pill, just DO NOT use this product!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After reading all the bad reviews, honestly, I was scared to try it, but after trying it, I have nothing but good comments. It did burn for about 1 hour, but it went away, and it wasn't bad at all. The more severe the infection, the more it is going to burn and itch, keep that in mind. I used it overnight, and by morning, my infection was gone! Amazing product :)"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ladies, it only burns if your yeast infection is really bad. I have used Monistat a million times. Sometimes my yeast infections were not so bad, so when inserted, there was no itching. But when you have a full-blown, nasty yeast infection, when you apply Monistat, it’s going to burn like anything. But it gets rid of the infection for sure."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat 7 is my go-to. I'm on the first night, and I timed how long the intense burning/itching lasted (29 min). I rated the product so high because of its effectiveness. I hate yeast infections, and I try to avoid them at all costs (probiotics, yogurt, cotton undies, using the same soap, etc.), but like others, I was prescribed antibiotics due to an oral surgery, and voila, yeast city. Tips: cold rag placed on area or fan blowing straight on your area while you're laying on your back. Patting area gently helps as well. Try not to get the medicine on the outside of your vagina. If you've had the yeast infection for a while or if it's just aggressive, chances are your area is dry and skin is probably irritated...use some kind of lubricant (I use A&D ointment), not much of it, but it may help with comfort. And yes, it really, really sucks at first, but it beats the alternative, in my opinion. Speaking from a woman who had gone to the emergency room after using Monistat 1...you can do it."
