Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have read through many comments. I have been using Monistat products for years. It takes three days. No matter which product you are using, for a yeast infection to start clearing up and 7 days for completion. So whether you are using a pill, egg, cream, garlic, oil, or oregano... three days. Upon insertion on the first day, you will get backlash fire pits of hell feeling. This is the medication attacking the yeast infection. It will burn, sting, throb, swell your lips, and itch 10 times more. Do your treatments at night. Wear a thin panty liner. Use the lotion 3 times a day. Be brave... lol come on, ladies."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ugh! First time ever experiencing a YI so I did the day 1 the ovule! I couldn't hold my pee in and some cream came out! I was going crazy and thinking it wasn’t going to work. Moments later the burning and itching started! The only thing that is making me feel better is reading all these comments knowing I'm not alone! Also first time using Monistat don’t think I'll use it again"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am so happy to see these reviews! Not happy for everyone, just glad to know I am not alone! I used Monistat 1 last night before bed (June 3rd). So it has been 24 hours. Today around lunch, I started itching like CRAZY!!! I ended up going back to the store for Vagisil cream and wipes just for some extra relief. I am still itching, but they help. How long does it take to stop?! I've read between 3 and 7 days? Anyone on the tail end? Feeling relief? Please tell me it gets better... wow! Good luck, ladies!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the Equate generic brand of the Monistat one-dose egg, same exact dosage and ingredients compared to Monistat, along with the external cream that comes with the egg. Two hours after inserting it, an increase in burning and itching happened. It wasn’t unbearable like some of these reviews are saying. I was able to fall asleep still, and when I woke up the next morning, I had no itchiness in my vagina or yeast infection feeling. It’s been a week now, and my infection is gone. If you are sensitive and can’t handle an increase in uncomfortability, then I suggest you see a doctor. If you don’t want to end up with a bill, just use Monistat over-the-counter and be a little bit more uncomfortable for a few hours to kill off your yeast infection. 10 out of 10, I would recommend it to someone to use."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "27 weeks pregnant with a yeast infection. My doc recommended that I use Monistat 7. My first day burned like lava!! I almost went to the ER. 2nd day not so bad, but now I'm on my 3rd day and the burning with intense itching is back!! So uncomfortable, I can barely stand it... I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through the whole 7 days..."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was TERRIFIED of using Monistat after reading the comments, but fortunately I didn't have the horrible burning. I had more problems getting the suppository inside. After about 2 mins, it started itching, but I just used the cream on the outside, and all was good. I laid down and waited what seemed like forever for the burning to start, but it didn't. I felt a few tingles but no burning. Just try it for yourself, everybody is different."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am on the third hour of my first night taking Monistat 3, and I’m ready to rip my lady parts out. The burning and itching intensified by 10,000 five minutes after inserting it and is VERY SLOWLY calming down, and it’s driving me insane! I wish I would have read the reviews first. Not recommended."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I get yeast infections frequently, and I have always just used generic brands. I never had a bad experience. Yesterday, I bought Monistat for the first time ever, and I will never use it again because it put me in so much pain. Usually, I just insert the generic brand and go right to sleep, but not even a minute after I started feeling a burning/scratching sensation, and it kept getting worse. I wasn’t even scratching myself, and my lady bits started to swell. I tried to get as much as I could out of me, and then the only reason I was able to fall asleep was that I laid a cold compress on myself. I even woke up this morning, and right away, I felt fine until I went to the bathroom, and the burning sensation started again, and I began to swell. I will never use this product again, and I don’t think any women should. Any girl reading this, you need to just get a generic brand because you will get rid of your yeast infection pain-free."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "First and second nights with Monistat 3 were pure torture. Intense burning. I literally couldn't sleep, that's how bad it was. I used the external cream and thought that was making things worse, my poor vag was hanging and swollen. I could barely walk. I decided to just stick with it. Sitting in a tub of hot water helped, which is weird relief to a burning vag. I only noticed relief when I washed up for bed. I guess the burn means it's working. After the second night, my swelling went down. I could walk without looking like a cowboy. The third night of treatment was the best night in comparison. There was mild burning, but I could get some sleep. I've completed the 3-day treatment. I still have a little itchiness and soreness. I will continue to use the cream on the outside 2 times a day until my itchiness goes away. Despite the lava journey, it seemed to work. They lose major stars for the pain. They need to get back in the lab and develop a gentler approach or at least provide numbing cream. Sheesh!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a yeast infection before and used Monistat 1, which is the pill-like insertion, and it was heaven! It went away so fast, no burning, no smearing, no discomfort. This time I got the infection again, like 2 years later, and I got Monistat 7, and oh my goodness, it's a literal living nightmare. It makes it so itchy, and I was squirming for like 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the irritation. I had to wipe it completely off, and I'm trying to pee it out because it's making it worse. I would never recommend Monistat 7 to anybody, always Monistat 1, ladies!!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat should be ashamed for putting this on shelves. I took it at about 10 pm and woke up at midnight feeling like someone had sprayed an entire can of pepper spray on my vagina, then lit a match. I literally googled “unbearable burning, itching, and pain after Monistat.” DO NOT USE IT. I am writing this review while laying in the shower, vagina up, trying to rinse this godforsaken stuff out of my vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm 30 years old and had my first yeast infection in my life. I wasn't sure what to use, so I bought the Miconazole 1200 mg. About 15 minutes after insertion, I had a terrible itching and burning, so awful I couldn't sit still. I thought I was having a reaction to it until I read everyone's comments."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am abandoning this treatment on day three because it is extraordinarily uncomfortable to use - it basically feels like a combination of ants biting my cervix and a case of poison ivy in my vagina. It is worse than the yeast infection itself. I suffered through the first couple of days, which were pretty bad, but tonight I just couldn’t take it, and I used my bidet to try to rinse as much of this Monistat hot sauce out of me as possible. It was either that or felt like using a scratcher up in there to try to ease the itch and pain."

I was hardly itchy before using this product, like the infection had just begun, and this made it 10 times worse! I would never use this again, I wanted to cry. I couldn’t do anything but lay down."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Night one is very intense, burning and itching immediately, makes you want to crawl out of your skin. It lasted maybe 15-20 min, then it subsided. The next morning I felt better, all the symptoms slowed down. You must wear a panty liner throughout the day. Night 2 and 3 were much better!!! Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. It works, but you must suffer a bit."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve only ever used doctor-prescribed medication to get rid of a YI. I didn’t have time to go to the doctor, so I went to the drug store and got Monistat 3. I had no idea what to expect, but I inserted as directed. After a couple of minutes, the burning and itching were unbearable. I thought for sure something was wrong, so I got up and read the box. Some burning and itching can occur. It’s a nightmare. But it’s doing its job. Thank goodness for all these comments that let me know that I’m not alone. But I want my YI gone, so I will do this for the other two doses!!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "The first night of using Monistat 3, I had severe burning and itching right after inserting for about an hour until I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning still feeling the symptoms of my yeast infection. I was hesitant to take it the second night, but I did, and I have to say, it went in comfortably and I had no discomforts the 2nd or 3rd night. If you experience the intense burning and itching, then that means the medicine is working. It may hurt, but it gets the job done. Also, try and keep in mind that typically happy users don’t take their time to go out of their way and review things, saying how great they are; but unhappy users will most definitely find the time to post their review if they hate the product. That’s something I always keep in mind when reading reviews. I wanted to come on and share my experience so people don’t get scared away by all the horrific reviews on here lol."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have previously used Monistat 3 before, and it worked perfectly fine for me, so I thought I would have no problem using Monistat 1 this time around. I was WRONG. Do not take the risk of buying this. I woke up to extreme burning and itching, far worse than the actual yeast infection. I wish I could go back a few hours and tell myself not to take it. Still trying to figure out how to deal with the pain."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, this is pretty much my first experience with a YI. Earlier this month, my doctor found BV and yeast under the microscope, and she gave me medicine for both. I had sex with my partner after all of my treatments and symptoms had gone, and literally, my YI came back, but it was slight burning, cottage cheese-like discharge, with no smell or no itching. So, to save me a trip, I purchased the 3-day Monistat. I took a shower, inserted the tube, and it was soothing at first. I applied the itch cream even though I didn’t have any itching. About 10 minutes later, I felt burning all over and around my vagina. It subsided maybe like 1 hour or so later, but then it started itching like crazy inside my vagina, like I wanted to itch. Now it’s calming down again. I will wait to see what my symptoms are like in the morning, but I probably won’t use this again, as it increased my YI symptoms or created symptoms that were never there in the first place."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "It works, but holy mother of God, this stuff itches and irritates like crazy... for the first little while. Shortly after inserting it, it starts itching/irritating like crazy. I suggest just laying down for as long as you can stand it (about an hour), and then get up to pee. When you do, a great amount of the Monistat will leak out of the vagina. Clean yourself up, take a deep breath, and prepare to feel much, much better in about 15 minutes. Not all cures are pleasant. Suck it up. This stuff works."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m on the 3rd night of a 3-day Monistat cream insert. I took ibuprofen before inserting the last dose - fast forward 3 hours and I literally just woke up (* I only wake up in pain with migraines, no other pain wakes me up) with a terrible itching sensation - convinced my YI is not going away because there’s no way my burning and itching (not to mention severely irritated labia) is caused by the actual medicine. Then I found this forum of reviews and wow I really wish I had read it before trying this med. I used Vagistat 3-day months ago for a different YI with no issues. Never again Monistat! If you want to be up at 2 a.m. writing a scathing review, then feel free to use this product."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I made a whole account on here to share some advice. I'm on day 1, and everyone's right, the itching's positively unbearable. But there are some things I did that helped the itching a LOT. Do not let any of this medicine out of your body. Or if it does, cold cloth, wipe it off immediately. Once this stuff gets on your outside bits, it's a whole new kind of suffering. The internal symptoms were so insignificant in comparison for me, I didn't even notice the internal itching and burning whatsoever until after I learned to basically put a tissue over the top of my vag like a sink stopper. Just wanted to share some advice that might keep someone from ripping their labia off. It's been 7 hours. I feel amazing. The initial itching is awful, I didn't have much burning myself. But after about 2 hours after applying it, I felt normal. Like I didn't have an infection at all. Definitely not excited for the next two days, but it's so worth it."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I followed the directions, inserted the cream internally and externally to really cover all bases. Three minutes had gone by, and the intensity of the itching that began was like no other itching my vagina has ever itched. Being this is the first time I’m using this product, I immediately think I’m having a bad reaction, so I Google side effects. Itching is listed. I then stumbled upon the reviews, and I wish I had read these prior. Instant regret. The itching had become so severe. All I could do was focus on the itching while wiggling around on my couch trying to refrain from scratching. I was tempted to take a bath like many other reviewers had done, but I’m glad I chose to ride it out. Within the hour, the itching subsided, and I know I have the correct dose in me. So if you found yourself here like I did by having a severe itch attack after applying - THERE IS HOPE that it will subside. My itch did."
