Metaxalone for Muscle Spasm "My dr prescribed this to help with some muscle spasms I had related to TMJ. It works wonderfully for this condition. However, I recently pulled some muscles in my back shoveling snow. I used this drug to help try and alleviate some of the muscle spasms, but it did not work as well on this larger group of muscles."

For Fibromyalgia "I've been using tramadol for my fibro, and since it works, we don't want it to stop. My Dr. gave me this to take at night instead of tram. Sometimes my body just can't calm down, the pain won't calm down. This has worked for me. Just 800 mg at night. I do have sciatica, bulging discs in my lumbar, arthritis in my hips, spine, knees, and myofascial pain disorder in my upper back. So whether this is working on those areas to calm my body or whatever, I'm grateful that it has worked. The only side effect I've noticed is constipation. I don't feel anything noticeable when it kicks in."

For Fibromyalgia "I have fibro, OA, cervical stenosis, and disc degeneration of cervical. I take LDN nightly and tizanidine as needed. I recently pulled my hamstring really bad and thought the tizanidine wasn’t helping, so my doctor had me try metaxalone. I started with the 400 mg per her suggestion. It absolutely did not help with the pain and made me feel very restless. I did not like the feeling. I’m really glad I didn’t take 800 mg to begin with. The tizanidine helped more than what I thought it was, and I have had no reactions to taking it. I will not try metaxalone again."

For Muscle Spasm "Was on this med 3x a day for 4 months post back surgery. The entire last month developed severe diarrhea, several times a day, thought I picked up some kind of bacterial or parasite!! I decided to stop the med, and within 2 days, stool back to normal. Took 4 months until started to develop a problem."

"I was prescribed this for muscle spasms in my lower back, and it was like I was taking a placebo. I had no noticeable reduction in spasms, nor did I notice any side effects. Glad it has worked for others."

Metaxalone for Muscle Spasm "My side effects were racing heart, bloated stomach, gas, vomiting. Had to drink a gallon of milk for my stomach issues. Next day, still feel nauseous and popping antacids in an attempt to get stomach back to normal. Took pills to police to dispose of them. My option = trash."

For Muscle Spasm "Was prescribed for back issues (3 fusions) and out walking in snow, boom fell on icy steps. Shoulder literally popped out of socket and arm just dangling. Moved a bit and arm went back into socket. Just healed from another shoulder injury, so Skelaxin should help."

For Muscle Spasm "Unfortunately, Flexeril did nothing to relax stiff muscles from chronic spinal stenosis nor fibromyalgia. Side effects of nausea, headache, and unpleasant confusion and general dysphoria. Nowhere near as effective as benzodiazepines."
