Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “I take Skelaxin on occasion when my back has been stressed from excessive use, having 2 bulging discs. When stressed, my back tenses and I have severe back pain. One pill for about two days always relieves the pain and I get back to normal. The only side effect I get is flushing of my face.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “Wow, was prescribed this for back issues that were apparently muscular in nature, but I was convinced was an actual spinal issue. The pain in my back was so bad. At the same time, my doc's were trying in vain to find out what was causing chronic diarrhea for the past 1-2 years, with no luck. Once I started on Skelaxin, not only has my back improved incredibly, all of a sudden, for the first time in a very long time, the diarrhea is gone as well! Love this medicine. Take it before bed, sleep great and wake up very clearheaded, and not in pain!”

For Muscle Spasm: “I never had any back problems until I reached my upper 40s. If I wasn't careful, I would somehow manage to pull my lower back muscle. The pain was relentless, and nothing I took really helped; it only took the edge off. Very fortunately, a doctor recommended I take Skelaxin/Metaxalone, and FINALLY something helped! So now I always keep a bottle in my medicine cabinet, just in case! The only downside is that it causes constipation, but I just make sure I eat extra fiber & drink extra water.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “Highly recommend. I have a C5 pinched nerve which affects my left arm, fingers are numb, & pain in spine. I was taking 700-1050 mg of Soma, 2-3xs daily & Norco 10/325 2-3xs a day. NOT ANY MORE. I take 1 medicine 3 xs a day and feel great. Very rarely do I have to add Norco. This medicine has been a Godsend! Cannot live without it, no surgery for me.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “For low back pain since I had 2 protruding discs several years ago, I take tramadol for pain and Skelaxin for muscle relaxing. It must be the name brand Skelaxin which works perfectly as the generic causes me to be foggy, loopy, and tired as the med wears off after 3 and a half hours. I also find I don't trust my driving or decision making on the generic. ”

Skelaxin (metaxalone): “I feel like the Skelaxin (Metaxalone) works sometimes. If I am in real pain it does nothing other than make me flighty and unable to realize I am in pain. But, it does not relieve the pain. I am not sure what I have yet because I am going through the testing processes. I would not ever want to be put on this medication again for severe pain because it does not work. I have been dizzy and have loss of memory quite often also.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I take metaxalone when I feel the pain coming on. For at least three days then I stop because I have to still take aspirin for other conditions. It alleviates some of the pain.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I was having one of my "bad" days. I was expected at my Mother's 80th Birthday party. I took the Skelaxin and felt well enough to go. I am not one for taking medication. I should have brought the next dose with me, I had to leave the party due to the pain.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “Started Skelaxin for muscle spasms in low back, upper back and neck. My first try at taking it I took it 3x/day for a couple of days and on next visit to Dr. told her that I could not take it on a routine basis like that due to the sleepiness. She told me to take it on an as needed basis. I also tried it just at bedtime and thought it was that which was making me so terribly hard to wake up the next morning. So I stopped that. But within the last week I must have strained the muscles in my lower back, I was having terrible pain and tenseness in my upper back. Also for the past few nights I have fallen asleep on the couch sitting up and developed horrible pain in my neck. I decided to try it again while others were around and it has been working.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “1st time onset of cervical pain with upper extremity radiculopathy. Steroid taper did not help, Norflex did not help, Relafen did not help. Skelaxin, wow, 2 doses in and the pain is virtually gone. I also received a tramadol prescription but will likely not need it.”

For Muscle Spasm: “Was prescribed this medicine after weeks of crippling muscle spasms due to CRPS in lower left leg, ankle, and foot. Very effective at 800 mg 3x daily. My neighbors are relieved I no longer awaken screaming in pain from the spasms, as am I. Very expensive, but worth it.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I have fibromyalgia, scleroderma and polymyositus, all have to do with muscle pain and tendon pain. I must say, I went from shuffling in the morning, not being able to walk, to feeling little pain. It's been a month now. I am also on methadone, which, by itself, did not help. I do feel very fatigued, and out of sorts, but, I would rather be like this than the way I was in pain.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “Went to the doctor yesterday due to muscle spasms from fibromyalgia. She put me on Skelaxin and it's WONDERFUL. I actually felt half way decent for the first time in forever, even able to get some much needed household chores done.”

For Fibromyalgia: “Although this medicine is very expensive, I only need 400mg every couple of days. I am able to purchase 3-5 800 mg pills per pharmacy visit. I only need to take it when in pain, and it works very quickly, so I'm not changing to another medicine. Flexeril makes me dizzy, dry, and doesn't work as well. Lyrica also makes me dizzy and nauseated. So metaxalone is my blessing. I'm very glad and surprised that I also don't have any side effects, as I am very sensitive to most medicines. Good luck everyone with Metaxalone. It works like a charm for me.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “I injured my back at work, it got to the point where it was difficult to get out of bed. My doctor put me on Skelaxin and tramadol, in a matter of weeks I was back to work and feeling 100% better.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I have fibromyalgia and couldn't handle the pain any longer. I went to the doctor today and they put me on Skelaxin. I took one pill and it was like a miracle. AWESOME. They also put me on Lyrica and I haven't taken it yet today. Hoping the 2 meds together will help.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I have fibromyalgia and more recently have been dealing with severe stenosis in my L5 as well as my L2.3.4 that can only be described as crippling. I have been on Skelaxin for two days and I thought my husband and my teen were going to cry because they got their wife and mom, respectively, back, and I can sleep longer than 4 hours at a time. It is nice.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Fibromyalgia: “I have had fibro and chronic fatigue for years. I used to take Skelaxin occasionally. When I developed degerative bone disease and increasing arthritis, I decided to take it regularly and see what happened. Over a period of a few months, I have found that my pain has reduced significantly. It is one of those drugs that seems to work better when taken regularly as opposed to for an acute attack. The down side is that it is expensive, even in generic form.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “I have muscle problems in my upper and lower back from carrying drums in drumline in high school. My back hurts constantly every day (but a very tolerable and mild pain). But those of you with back problems know that you have good days and bad days. On the bad days I started taking 800mg Skelaxin, and it did absolutely nothing for my pain. It provided the same amount of relief that 2 or 3 Aleve provides.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “Skelaxin seems to be great. I have taken about 3 days (800mg prescribed 3 x daily). I have even taken on empty stomach (bold move) and walked through a grocery store. It worked great. I was not "foggy" or drunk feeling. I have taken it at work and have not noticed adverse side effects except a slight headache. Nothing good is without some trade-off. I recommend this for those who need daytime/night-time pain relief and do want to feel "doped up" like other muscle relaxers can do.”

Skelaxin (metaxalone) for Muscle Spasm: “I take this medication for pelvic floor dysfunction. It works well, but does leave me a bit foggy. I try to only take one pill a day, but I definitely notice I'm not as sharp for the entire day after taking it. But I couldn't get through physical therapy without it.”
