For Bowel Preparation "Cannot emphasize this enough, I am a hypochondriac and love to worry so naturally I only focused on the less-than-favorable reviews. Well, let me tell you, don't worry. Tastes a LOT like BC powder chased by a cherry coke. Yucky but over quickly and, at least to me, nowhere near as bad as some described. Actually, the worst part was drinking so much water. Made me burp a bunch and feel bloated somewhat. Since I was hungry from only drinking liquids, this was not completely unwelcome. Felt chilled for a little bit but I think this was more from being so nervous. Took an hour to kick in and since then has been doing its job. No cramping, just lots of 'I gotta go'. If this is the worst, then this will be about the easiest procedure ever."

For Bowel Preparation "My colonoscopy was scheduled for a Tuesday, so the Saturday before, I ate a very bland diet. Sunday, I stuck to only liquids. Monday was my prep day, at 6 pm, I started the Suprep. I will be honest, it is the most disgusting stuff you will ever drink. I mixed mine with lemonade Crystal Light and some ice. It took me 45 minutes to get down, I took a sip and then immediately had Italian ice ready to eat. I also bit into a lemon and had hard candy nearby. I got it down, but it took 45 minutes. I also took an 8 mg Zofran an hour before, prescribed by my doctor. I started using the bathroom about an hour after I finished the Suprep and two water bottles. I did not have any side effects at all, just a bloating, full feeling. At 11 pm, I tried to drink the next dose of Suprep mixed with Crystal Light. I couldn’t get it down, I only drank 1/4 of it and one water bottle. Luckily, my bowel movements were clear, and my doctor could do the test. The actual procedure was fine, I was asleep and don’t remember anything."

For Bowel Preparation "Worked exactly as it said it would and what my GI said would happen. Didn’t mind the taste (just held my breath since 90% of taste is air going over taste buds). Worked after 45 minutes, and most of the action was on the first dose, which I took at 4:45 pm. 2nd dose was at 2:45 am, and I was able to get some sleep in between bouts. Ran yellow liquid at the end (which is normal since bile is the only thing left at that point in you). Was a very clean prep according to my GI. No nausea at all. And I returned to normal the next day after I got more in me. No bloating or discomfort like I had with PEG. CRC (colorectal cancer) is the most preventable yet least prevented form of cancer. No reason to not get screened if you are eligible. You miss 100% of everything you don’t look for."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed this for colonoscopy prep. I got on here just to see how long it would take to start working, and all the reviews got me so stressed! It was no worse than drinking a bottle of magnesium citrate. Pour the 6 oz bottle into the 16 oz cup, added about 5 oz of Sprite and 5 oz of Gatorade. Three good guzzles and it was down. Finished 2 more doses of water within 30 min, and it started to work. Walking around between trips to the toilet helped with bloating. About the time that things started to settle down, I had to take the 2nd dose. Went down the same way. Started at 1 pm and finally felt safe to shower about 9 pm. Y’all had me all worked up about taste, high blood pressure, etc. All I can say is that it probably is more unpleasant for some. But don’t freak out by what everyone puts here... I think reading everyone’s bad experiences, for me, was more stressful than the entire process and procedure combined!"

For Bowel Preparation "I read a lot of the experiences on here. I will admit I got freaked out by a lot of them. However, this prep was no big deal. I mixed a packet of True Lime and True Lemon in with the Suprep and added the water. Drank it in 2 minutes with a straw. It didn’t taste bad at all. My only complaint with this whole thing is how much liquid you have to drink. My belly was sloshing all night. Other than that, it worked great!"

For Bowel Preparation "Every BODY is different, and that's the truth with my experience with Suprep. I finished my first dose at 7 pm, and at 10:30 pm, I had my first real liquid movement. I had one or two soft solid movements before this, but for me, it took a long time. I'm okay. Watching Netflix. Finished drinking in 18 minutes. I took someone's advice and sucked on lemon wedges between gulps, which was a lifesaver for me. Since I had such a long time in between drinking the drink and the true cleansing part of this process, I did have some bloating and 'felt the drink working' in my intestinal tract, so some cramps and no movement. Now that the floodgates have opened, it's better. Early appointment. Up at 3:30 am to drink again. Not much sleep tonight."

For Bowel Preparation "I have to do this every year, due to Crohn's disease. I still get nervous and anxious, like most. However, it's never that bad! I actually guzzle the prep, right out of the bottle, after having it in the freezer, to the point of almost icy. Then I chase it with strong, ice-cold lemonade and then apple juice. Since you need so much fluid, that much water makes me nauseous. I sometimes get nausea, sometimes chills, and usually bloated. That goes away for me when I start going. Another great tip, while you're going? I use pure coconut oil instead of Desitin and only wipe/blot with flushable baby wipes that I keep in the fridge! :D"

For Bowel Preparation "No big deal, people. It doesn't taste great (salted cherry comes to mind), but it certainly is not unbearable. Started at 5 pm and drank it slowly. Had first movement within 30 minutes before I even finished. Bloating and watery movements for the next few hours, about every half an hour. Definitely some bloating, but nothing awful and no headaches. Used baby wipes and A&D ointment, but didn't even need it. No soreness at all."

For Bowel Preparation "I was really nervous to take this, but it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Def tastes better chilled; at room temperature, it is very salty; chilled it tastes like overly sweet cough syrup with a bitter aftertaste. It helped me to suck on ice or a popsicle in between sips of the Suprep. It began working for me about 1/2 hour after the first dose, and I didn't stop going until a 1/2 hour before my procedure. Tips to help: walking or even just standing helps you from feeling too bloated, stay very, very close to the bathroom as you don't have much warning, use Desitin in between every BM, and have something to keep you distracted, like Netflix. It's uncomfortable and unpleasant, but not as much as a cancer diagnosis."

For Bowel Preparation "So, I read the previous reviews with a lot of trepidation. But my experience was pretty positive. Is it something I want to do again? No way. But it wasn't intolerable, as I feared. The taste isn't good but bearable if you chase it with something else (ginger ale in my case). As others have said, it's the water afterwards which is most difficult as you are already bloated. My stomach started making noises around 15 minutes afterwards, and within 45 minutes, I was confined to the toilet for the next hour and a half. But then it was all clear, and we were good. The morning one was more limited as I was already mostly cleared. Maybe another 45 minutes on the toilet. The actual colonoscopy was a breeze. Nothing to fear."

For Bowel Preparation "I drank down my Suprep in about 10 mins, trying to just get it down in one shot (and I thought I was supposed to drink it kind of fast, not sure about that). Drank down my next 32 oz of water, and felt like an inner tube I was so bloated. I was worried it wasn't working because I've heard the stories of the sounds and gurgles, and my stomach was just distended. But then.....I felt a little feeling that made me worry tremendously if I were to even cough too hard. I hightailed it to the bathroom with the bidet (over the toilet, no need to move), and holy cannoli. I was there for literally (yes, LITERALLY) one hour. Then I was able to take a shower, and so far so good. 2 am is the next dose, and I'm sure nothing will be left!"

For Bowel Preparation "30 y/o male. After reading the horror stories about this product, I was quite hesitant about using it myself. The taste was far from what people claim, I mixed the first 6 oz with white grape juice and the second 6 oz with ice water, which was better. The consistency is thick, which would most likely cause a problem for those with texture issues. Drank required 16 oz of water within the hour, plus a fair amount of yellow Gatorade, Mountain Dew, and Diet Coke. The prep began working within the hour, and I was in the bathroom for about 1-1.5 hours with full watery bowel movements. After that time, it began to slow down, and bowel movements only came on 1-3 times per hour. Total bowel movements on night 1 were anywhere from 20-30. Day 2 bowel movements were 7-10, but the urge to go was there, I had nothing left in my system. No cramping, bloating, headache, or vomiting. I actually felt amazing from the cleanse. In summary, pay the extra and get Suprep."

For Bowel Preparation "I read many of the reviews before I had to take my first dose at 6 PM. I had to stop reading because the comments were making me nervous. I took the advice of putting it in the fridge. I also filled a pitcher with ice water and put that in the fridge, which I used to mix with the Suprep. The taste was not bad. It reminded me of the grape-flavored Motrin I would give my kids when they were younger. But there was a very salty taste to it, too. It started working almost immediately. Be kind to yourself and get some soft toilet paper or wet wipes. Vaseline helps, too. I was done with bowel movements by 8:15. The second dose (at 5 AM) did not go as smoothly. I felt kind of nauseated while drinking it. I did get it down and the 2 additional 16 oz of water, but I had the chills and felt bloated. It works well."

For Bowel Preparation "2nd time using Suprep, a few different ones in between. I put the bottles in the fridge the morning prep starts. Ice-cold water is key. I mixed the prep and used a big straw to get it down. I even put a few ice cubes in, it's so much easier to drink when it’s cold. I would add my additional water to keep diluting it till the prep was gone. 1 hr later, I was in my office (bathroom). I had it set up with a TV tray, iPad, phone books so my feet won’t hang, and a small heater for the chills. I think this is my 10th, I’m 58 with ulcerative colitis. No real cramping, some bloating from all the liquid. 4 hrs done running. My appointment was early, so I stayed up till the time for the 2nd bottle, same ritual. The 2nd is a little harder, mind over matter. Again, no major cramps, no big teeth-chattering chills. I was in better shape going to my appointment than I was when I got out. I have cramps now and am really bloated, but I had polyps. I will be using this again. Downfall: insurance doesn’t cover it all."

For Bowel Preparation "I read all the reports and was really scared to take the medicine. I used a hair clip on my nose even to open the bottle. I diluted it with water that was naturally flavored with citrus. I still do not have any idea what it smells or tasted like. It was a lot of fluid, but it started working before I finished the first glass of the same sparkling water after the first dose. I had no nausea or anything but a little bloating. I did get slightly cold, especially my extremities. It's not fun not eating and getting up at 2 am for the second dose, but not that bad considering what cancer does and how radiation, chemo for a year, and surgery makes one feel. I know because my husband had colon cancer before he was fifty."

For Bowel Preparation "Sure, it's not a pleasant experience, but when you see a 'horrible taste' review, move on to the next, they're reality TV princesses with their best drama story and no advice. Drink it standing. In 10 minutes, it started for me and lasted 2 hours. Just try to relax on the toilet with a book or movie to help pass the time. Dab, don't wipe. Fortunately, I have very regular movements. If you don't, I suggest prep for the prep a few days ahead. Avoid 'clogging' foods and take a laxative if you need-you don't want the bloat, cramps, headaches, etc. that others complain about. I over-stressed because I got sucked into those horror reviews. I realize it's different for every body, but it's not that bad. I thank those who posted genuine tips."

For Bowel Preparation "I was instructed to take the doses at 2 pm and 7 pm on the day before my colonoscopy. I was able to drink the dose fairly quickly. This was followed by 32 additional ounces of water. Avoid breathing through your nose while drinking it because the salty black cherry flavor is not great. I had some bloating, nausea, and mild chills. It took about 2 hours for the medication to kick in. I stayed in the bathroom for a little over an hour, then the bowel movements slowed down. At 7 pm, it was time for the second dose. It was definitely harder to drink, and the last few sips were nauseating. This dose worked very quickly (15 min), and within a few hours, the bowel movements slowed down. By 10 pm, I was pretty much cleaned out. Keep drinking fluids!"

For Bowel Preparation "I've had several colonoscopies. Previous prep was always basically Miralax/Gatorade plus one or two other laxatives. Suprep is better by far. Less to drink, less bloating. Two dose regimen meant that I got a decent night's sleep because the evening purge slowed to a stop before bedtime. Didn't taste that bad, like salty fruit punch. I'm actually not dreading the next colonoscopy."

For Bowel Preparation "My husband and I had 2 very different experiences. He didn't chill anything, mixed it, drank it like chugging down a beer, then immediately did the 2 additional 16 oz room temp waters. Said it tasted like cough syrup, but it wasn't too bad. It hit 1 hr later, and an hr after that, he was done. His repeat was exactly the same. His only side effect was hunger. I chilled mine, pinched my nose, and drank it all down with a straw in about 15 mins. Took a spoonful of honey then let go of my nose. Didn't taste a thing! I had trouble getting all the water down in an hour, had to switch to Gatorade. I was bloated, a little nauseous, and almost had a headache. Mine also hit an hour later, but I went 18 times in 3 hrs. 2nd round similar but better."

For Bowel Preparation "I've had numerous colonoscopies in the last 15 years (at least 12) and have used every prep there is. Suprep does the job better than the rest for me. Since my procedure was the first of the day, I started at 3 PM on the day before. I had results by 5 PM. I took the second dose at 8 PM and was 'squeaky clean' by midnight. The taste is tolerable, I followed with white grape juice and lemonade. I feel less bloated, and not having to drink so much Gatorade mixed with Miralax was a bonus. Like many others have stated, the prep isn't great, the procedure is painless, and in my case, it's part of my treatment. Just get it done."

For Bowel Preparation "Just returned from the GI center for my colonoscopy, which they canceled due to a “bad prep.” My first time using Suprep. I’m 67 and have been faithful with my colonoscopy check-ups for 40+ years (having lost my father to colon cancer at 48 years young). This prep was the worst. Followed the instructions exactly, the exception being I chose to have a liquid diet 4 days prior (chicken broth, jello, ++hydration) mixed with Berry Propel and 32 oz additional water and an anti-nausea pill an hour prior (each dose). 1st dose 6 pm, bloating and chills, but no movement. 2nd dose 2 am, worse. Finishing the dose was near impossible. During the second 16 oz, I threw up everything. Finished 16 oz water, still no movement and very bloated. Up all night with little results. 7 am appointment, I needed the restroom two times, still not clear, suggested an enema, however, the doctor canceled the procedure when he discovered that I threw up the second dose and still did not have a clear evacuation. Not a happy camper with Suprep."

For Bowel Preparation "I read a lot of reviews of this product and expected horrible taste, bad cramping, bloating, a nasty burning sensation, and a bunch of other un-good things. This was my 3rd colonoscopy, and this prep was by far the easiest. I followed the directions on the package and the ones my doctor gave me that included eating a light meal 2 days before, 'the more water you drink, the better off you'll be,' and I applied A&D Ointment before everything began. The product had a mild cherry flavor and wasn't the least bit unpleasant. I had no cramping, bloating, painful bowel movements, burning, or any of that stuff, and I wasn't sitting on the toilet for hours. I would use it again in a heartbeat."

For Bowel Preparation "Quit worrying about these reviews! I used the Cherry Suprep at 6 pm Thursday and 7 am Friday for my colonoscopy yesterday. It was a much better experience than the Golytely. It tastes like strong children’s cough syrup to me. I mixed it with ice-cold water and drank the 16 oz in four big gulps and downed two bottles of room-temperature water in the next thirty minutes. BM started 30 minutes later. I did have some stomach bloating initially, but that went away after the first BM. The diarrhea lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Went to bed at 9 pm and actually got a full night's sleep. The second bottle at 7 am was much like the first. It’s not bad in my experience. Much better than the Golytely the Army had me drink. I had 2 precancerous polyps removed, and I was in and out of the clinic in a total of 2 hours."

For Bowel Preparation "Listen, if you're reading this, stop doing this to yourself. I'm a 49-year-old male and literally drove myself crazy researching and reading. Here it is in a nutshell. Place the 2 bottles of Suprep in the fridge the night before. Eat a low fiber diet 2 days before and of course your liquid diet the day before. Mix in your chilled water (I used Smart Water) with the 6 oz of Suprep. Use a big straw, not a thin one. Drink as much as you can, use a lemon slice, do it again, use a lemon slice, and I was done with it after the 3rd time. Drank two more 16 oz waters over the next hour (I used Smart Water again). This stuff just liquefies everything. 15 to 30 minutes later, you will have liquid bowel movements. No pain, no bloating, just the full feeling of drinking so much."
