For Bowel Preparation "This Suprep is the most over-the-top sweet, nasty-tasting thing you will ever drink!! I called the company and asked if it was necessary for it to work for it to be this gaggingly sweet. I was told that they make it sweet for it to be tolerable to drink. REALLY?! Have they ever tasted this stuff?!! Just the smell of it makes me gag, literally! Hold your nose, suck on a lemon to kill the taste after each gulp. Brush your tongue after you're done, or the aftertaste will linger for hours. I HATE this stuff!!!"

For Bowel Preparation "Going in for my 4th colonoscopy in 20 years tomorrow. I've been putting it off for over a year because of the prep process. I not only have IBS but fissures that make the prep very unpleasant. I did the Suprep today, and it was by far the easiest prep I've ever done! I mixed it with cold 7-Up instead of water and drank it through a straw. It was fine. Just a little aftertaste, but nothing bad. I followed it with the 32 oz of water, as instructed, and waited for the fireworks. Well, almost 2 hours later, let's just say that it was very gentle. No cramps, no nausea, and no explosive stuff. Just like someone else on this forum had said, it was like a gentle faucet was opened. With so little liquid and no adverse effects, this will be my prep of choice for all future scoping. After reading the horror stories and being very nervous about this prep, I felt like sharing my good experience!"

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff will clean you out like an auger. It is incredibly effective and does exactly what it is designed to do. When the directions are properly followed in the manner prescribed, it provides an outstanding cleanse of the digestive system. Also, it tastes like bile mixed with poison berries. If hatred has a flavor, this is it. Did I dread being gassed into unconsciousness, having a robot make five incisions in me and drag out a section of my gut? Not as much as I dreaded taking the second dose of this stuff. Is it the Underworld's Kool-Aid? No doubt. Will you question yourself? Most certainly. But does it work? Absolutely."

For Bowel Preparation "These people are worse than my 4-year-old taking medicine. I mixed it, chugged the 16 ounces of grape, salty drink, and then chewed on a lemon. Honestly, these people had me all worked up, and the stuff tasted like a bad mixed drink."

For Bowel Preparation "You guys. It’s totally not that bad at all. I read all these comments before starting my bowel prep and was nervous because of how extreme some people make it to be. It’s not. Yeah, there’s a mediciney aftertaste, but pair it with yellow Gatorade and it’s not bad. Yes, it’s drinkable. It does not taste like liquid death. I didn’t even use a straw, just chugged it down in under 3 minutes both times. This was also my first time doing any sort of laxative. It’s just like water pouring through you. I had zero stomach cramping and it didn’t burn. Just calmly emptying out. I had my gallon of water sitting next to me and I chilled in the bathroom for about an hour each time, playing games on my phone. Then it was over and I went on about my evening. The morning dose made me feel slightly nauseous just because it was of how long it’s been since I haven’t eaten, but it went away quickly when I emptied out. It is not the worst thing that will happen to you all week, okay? Good luck y’all!"

For Bowel Preparation "Well, just finished going through the first portion of the Suprep. I must say, it was very difficult to drink. The taste is awful. I had to put a cup with Gatorade next to the cup with the preparation, so I could drink a sip between each time that I took a drink of the Suprep. But it really has worked. I was terrorized with fear, but I haven't had any cramping or stomach ache at all, no nausea, no headache, and except for the terrible taste, the experience hasn't been bad at all. This is my first time getting ready for a colonoscopy, and I was glad I found this site before I started, it eased all of my fears by reading all the other comments. Thank you for having this site up. It helped me a lot. Hope I am able to help someone else."

For Bowel Preparation "I just returned home from my colonoscopy. It went great! The doctor said my prep was a 9 out of 9 - it was perfect. Some tips: Get your doctor to prescribe Zofran (anti-nausea pill) to take an hour before each dose of Suprep. I had absolutely no nausea or vomiting. I refrigerated the prep and also used cold, bottled water. I think what helped me the most was a lemonade slush from Sonic. I held my nose and gulped down 6 swigs of the prep, followed by some slush. I swished the slush around in my mouth before I swallowed, and it removed all taste of the prep. I would then wait about 30 seconds and repeat. It took 5 minutes to drink all the prep. I then took the entire hour to sip/drink some more lemonade, Sprite, and chicken broth. I repeated again at 3 am - making sure I had saved half my Sonic frozen lemonade. Zofran, holding my nose while drinking, and especially the lemonade slush made it tolerable. The taste of Suprep is gross, but like someone else said, I’d rather prep for a colonoscopy than chemotherapy!"

For Bowel Preparation "I had no issues at all. It tastes bad, but it is tolerable if you swish your mouth after every drink with water. Within an hour, the dams were let open! LOL! The first dose got everything. The second was just to ensure you were clean. Colonoscopy? Don't remember. Woke up feeling good. Doc says, 'See you in 10 years!' Chick-fil-A was good afterward! First poop afterward was great! LOL!"

For Bowel Preparation "The suggestion to chill the Suprep in the fridge, chill your water, soda, and/or Gatorade is great advice. Yes, use a straw. I put a Lifesaver Peppermint in my mouth to prepare for the Suprep's nasty taste, then I added cold water and ginger ale to the fill line in the cup provided. Using a straw, holding my nose, I quickly drank the Suprep with the peppermint Lifesaver between my gums and cheek, so in between each sip, I was able to get the nasty taste out of my mouth with the mint. Having a Lifesaver peppermint REALLY helps with the aftertaste! It's my 3rd colonoscopy, and this time I was actually able to get through it without gagging on the stuff. Yes, it is like metallic grape drink!"

For Bowel Preparation "I had a good experience with Suprep. Clear liquid diet all day - around 4:00 PM I took the first dose in water as directed. It smells like cough syrup and tastes pretty nasty - I was happy to follow up with two big 16 oz. glasses of fresh clear water over the next hour. By 5:15 I was in the bathroom - I was actually relieved at how quickly it worked. Second dose at 8 PM - much harder to get it down at that point, so I sipped cold water between the Suprep just to clear my taste buds. Then two big glasses of water. Between the doses I sipped on iced tea and lemonade. I slept pretty well (got up 2 or 3 times more out of nerves than need). I felt fine in the morning - had my procedure at 9:45 and got the thumbs up for my 'excellent prep job'. Funny how the little things make you happy at that point! And I don't have to go back for another 10 years. If you get a choice, I really think this is an excellent prep option. Good luck!"

For Bowel Preparation "I cannot get over the nausea that starts after the first chug. I know I have to try to plug my nose and swallow. Tried the variations of liquid with it, and this being my third, nothing helps. I resist puking as long as possible. I went the entire day on clear liquids until after that first bottle. Yup. I ate four crackers. That did help some as the taste left is absolutely awful. I would rather take any pill (in any combination of pills) than drink this! GI specialists, please listen. We take time out of our busy lives to actually share and voice our concerns and opinions. We want a different choice. Why? The taste makes us puke. The taste does not go away. This impedes proper preparation and care. We deserve better."

For Bowel Preparation "Quick rundown. 48-year-old female. 3rd colonoscopy. Found this to be way easier than the other two preps. The taste is somewhere between grape and cherry with a salty taste. The split dosage was nice, but getting up after a nap at 1:30 a.m. not so much. My appointment was at 8:30 a.m. Note the time of your procedure. Schedule later in the day if you want to sleep in a bit. No, it's not fun, no, it's not convenient, no, it's not something you chat about in the lunchroom at work, BUT for me, one day of inconvenience sure beats having colon cancer or having to have part of your colon out! Just something to think about. The doctors do this every day. They could care less about what your butt looks like. Plus, you're sedated, so who cares what they say!! Just have it done!!"

For Bowel Preparation "It wasn't the colonoscopy I feared, but drinking the stuff. I survived, and you can too. The flavor was exactly like Fanta or Crush grape soda (without the fizz), but the aftertaste was nasty. I made it cold and used a straw to drink it. First dose took me about three or four big drinks with the straw, and in between, I rinsed my mouth with water. I gagged a little, but I'm a big baby when it comes to liquid medicine. The second dose was in the middle of the night, and a bit harder to get down. No pain, gas, cramps, or racing to the bathroom, which surprised me. Don't let your fear of drinking this stop you from getting a colonoscopy, it's not that bad. Good luck. Go do it, and get it over with! If I drank 16 oz twice, you can too! Really, you can. :)"

For Bowel Preparation "I am an 18-year-old female, and this will be my first colonoscopy. It is not hard to trigger my gag reflex, so I was a little nervous to drink Suprep. I was instructed to drink it at 7 pm, and after some gagging and nausea, I finished at 7:40 pm. I mixed it with ginger ale and drank ginger ale chasers after each sip. The taste isn't as bad as I expected, but it does taste like cough syrup and was hard for me to get down and obviously took me a while. It works incredibly fast. I had a bowel movement at 7:35 pm, before I had even finished the prep. I was surprised at how quickly it cleans you out. I was having clear bowel movements after only an hour. Suprep did give me a bad headache, but it was tolerable. Bad taste, but effective."

For Bowel Preparation "Unlike the majority of people here fasting or eating lighter couple of days before taking Suprep, I had a huge dinner consisting of pizza, kebabs, and some spaghetti. Not eating worried me, so I ate a lot the night before. When it came to drinking it, the next day at 6 pm it wasn't as bad. The only thing that was bad was the aftertaste, which I washed down with some coconut water. Took 15 minutes to work. The first time was soft, watery stool, and everything after that was just squirting the remainder of the water without any traces of stool. Hardest part was not eating!"

For Bowel Preparation "I decided to do some research on Suprep. I saw a lot of positive and negative comments. But one positive comment caught my attention. This person mentioned using berry-flavored Propel water. I decided to give this a try with my first dose. So I bought some and made sure it was very cold. I mixed it with the first bottle of Suprep, plugged my nose, and downed it fast. I was surprised it was not bad, yes, I could taste that salty taste afterward, but I washed it down with the remaining 6 ounces of Propel and then finished the next two 16-ounce glasses of water in an hour. It kicked in about an hour and a half later (bathroom trips about every 30 minutes). The next morning was easier, and the procedure went very well. Good till 2026!"

For Bowel Preparation "Started first dose at 5 pm. The taste is bad, but not completely horrible. Imagine cherry cough medicine. Drank it with a straw and sipped Gatorade in between to clear the flavor from my mouth. Probably finished it in about 2 minutes. Then drank the 32 oz of water over the next 45 minutes. Started working 20 mins in. Had the bathroom set up with cell phone, tablet, book, wipes, etc. Sat there for 2 hours instead of getting up and rushing back. Lumpy at first, then pure liquid. Slowed after 2 hrs and went a few more times before bed. Did the second dose at 5 am. More difficult and lasted a little longer. 10:30 am appt. Was out in 2 hours. Anesthesia knocked me out and woke up alert in recovery. No discomfort other than gas. Not as bad as I expected!!"

For Bowel Preparation "Suprep was not as bad as I was expecting. The taste is unpleasant (think salty cough syrup), but that's all. I took it at 6 pm and 6 am before my 11 am procedure. It took about 20 minutes to kick in and lasted about 2 hours. The morning was basically a non-event -- nothing left."

For Bowel Preparation "I was pretty freaked out from all the reviews, but for me, it wasn't awful. I eat healthy and am regular before this, so I think that helped. The taste is not great, but I swallowed the 16 oz in two large gulps. It slightly reminded me of cough syrup with a bad aftertaste, but I did not vomit or have any issues. I drank the two glasses of water within a half an hour, and it started to work in an hour. It wasn't explosive for me, just like I had diarrhea, so it was doing its job. I obviously knew this, so I stayed home. I took it at 5 and was cleared out by 10 and went to bed with no issues. Got up and repeated and am about to go for a colonoscopy. So, to anyone who is taking it, for me, it wasn't bad, so don't assume it will be awful."

For Bowel Preparation "First timer here. Like a comment above, I'm 54 and doing this for the first time. My anticipation (and fear) about this was completely unfounded. I expected a most vile drink and explosive diarrhea for hours. Got my slices of lime (suggested somewhere to get the taste out of my mouth), flushable baby wipes, and charged my cell phone to have something to do. The taste was bad, but so is taking shots of tequila! Drank the other two 16 oz glasses of water within 10 minutes. In about 20 minutes, it started. I was only on the toilet for about 45 minutes and went back every 20 minutes. It was pretty much over in 2 1/2 hours. And, unlike being really sick, it wasn't that bad. Round two was less of an event!"

For Bowel Preparation "I am very happy that I used this rather than the mega ounces of disgusting solution I drank for my first colonoscopy. If I ever have to repeat this, I'm going to chill the solution first. I drank two sips at a time, alternating sips of soda and sucking on candy. There's no getting around the nasty taste, but here are my recommendations: follow a soft diet two days before your procedure. The day before, follow a liquid diet to the letter. You won't have cramping nor abdominal pain. Distract yourself while you sip the solution. I stood in front of my TV, taking two sips at a time while sucking on a piece of candy. Alternate sips of icy cold water, soda, and solution. Best of all, it works quickly."

For Bowel Preparation "39-year-old male, 1st colonoscopy. I had already read several of the reviews of the product but did not fully know what to expect. Started 1st dose at 6 pm the night before the procedure, and meds began working around the 1-hour mark. No cramping, pain, or discomfort whatsoever. Took the second dose at midnight with similar results. Finished getting ready of all the liquids an hour before the procedure, and everything went smooth. Aside from the obvious bad taste, the doses worked fine. No side effects other than lost sleep prepping for an early morning procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "Finished my first dose about an hour and a half ago. The worst part of this whole experience, which was my first, was the anxiety of not knowing what to expect, not being able to eat any solid foods all day, and finally, the actual taste of the product. I sucked on lime slices after each sip to kill the nasty taste. I was able to down the mixture in a couple of minutes, and it only took 15-20 minutes for the floodgates to open. My suggestion is to stay on the throne while the medication is working. The flushing comes without warning and goes in waves every 2-5 minutes or so. The process was finished in about an hour. I sipped on the additional 32 oz of bubbly water for the next hour. All in all, not nearly as bad as I expected!"

For Bowel Preparation "Took my Suprep at 7 pm. Started working after 1 hour. Been in the bathroom for an hour and a half. Feeling like it could be the end of me. Sure feels like death. Hopped into hot bath 30 minutes ago. Had to get out after 5 minutes to use the toilet again. Got back in and back out 2 more times before giving up. There are brief breaks where I can get more water, but not much else. If you want a better taste, dilute with peach/mango V8. Helps soooooo much. Been having orange Jello and veggie broth. Even if it means I'll be on the toilet all night. Thank goodness for Disney Plus. Lol. Hopefully my second dose at 1 am goes smoother. Feels like I'm spray painting the inside of the toilet bowl. Lol. It sucks, but it's doable. Wish there were an easier way, but 1 day of slavery to the toilet sure beats not knowing if I might have cancer or other conditions that could be treated to increase my quality and quantity of life. I wanna live to see my baby girl graduate. Guys, it is not just about us. Remember that."
