For Bowel Preparation "I am 28 years old, having my first colonoscopy. I had my gallbladder removed a year ago in the emergency room (gallstone lodged in bile duct, and I had no idea I even had stones). Ever since then, I've had problems with my stomach. I began the prep at 4 pm on the dot. Mixed the 6 oz with 10 oz of low-calorie Gatorade for the first cup (make sure to not use red, purple, or orange). Then drank a 16.9 oz water bottle. Started feeling nausea and got bloated. But I began the second water bottle and didn't finish it because by 5 pm, I was in the bathroom. So far, my tips are to definitely have baby wipes in the bathroom. Keep close to the bathroom because it happens QUICK. And keep the Suprep in the fridge. The cooler it is, the easier you can get it down."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm only giving this medication a 6 because it worked. When I drank the 2 pm drink, it took me 20 minutes because of the taste, and I kept gagging. When I was finished, I drank the 32 oz of water with difficulty because I was so bloated, and I felt like I was going to throw up. The Suprep started working in about an hour. Second dose at 7 pm comes around, and after the first sip, I had to sprint to the bathroom and vomited everywhere because I couldn't make it. It was horrible. After that, I got 1/3 of the liquid down and started vomiting again. After that, I put it over ice and was finally able to get the rest of it down (took me a while). I never want to use this prep ever again."

For Bowel Preparation "So far, I am pleased. I took it about an hour ago, and it started working within 35 minutes. The taste was not bad. I mixed the prep with water from the refrigerator dispenser. I pinched my nose and drank it down. Actually, it was more difficult to drink the next 32 ounces of water during the hour. Except for a little bloating and a headache (maybe from worry), things have gone well. Now I'll sit and let it do its job."

For Bowel Preparation "I am in my late 20s and was recommended for an early first colonoscopy. I was prescribed Suprep for my pre-procedure prep. I've heard horror stories about colonoscopy prep, so I went searching, and needless to say, I wasn't so happy with what I found. Luckily, everything I read didn't seem to apply to me. Suprep was super easy. I just mixed it with some cold berry Propel water and drank it down. It honestly didn't even really taste that bad. Kind of like...I don't know, Smirnoff Ice? After drinking that, you just have to drink water. I had little to no bloating or abdominal pain on either dose. I just had my colonoscopy at 8:30 this morning, and I'm already home and working. All is well :). Prep was easy, colonoscopy was easy. Happy customer!"

For Bowel Preparation "Definitely gets the job done. Use Vaseline or A&D on your rear! This stuff can really burn. My husband was so sore he couldn't sit, and I had no pain at all. That was the difference. I drank the first dose over 40 minutes, followed by the water-all in by 1.5 hours, as MD said I could take 2.5 hours if needed. I figured drinking the Suprep slowly would likely avoid some of the cramping and bloating and violent responses of which others complained. It seemed to work. It tasted bad, but after all the reviews, I thought it would be worse, and at 55 minutes results came in a controlled fashion, i.e., no great emergency. Second dose was a little harder to drink, but I did. I'm a small female, too. Next time I won't be as nervous."

For Bowel Preparation "Whoever gave the suggestion of biting on a lemon wedge in between chugging the Suprep is a genius! The worst part about the drink is the awful aftertaste, and the lemon totally cuts it. I've taken this prep in the past and was dreading it again this time around - BUT - the lemon made it totally tolerable! I just finished chugging the solution/water mixture, and now I'm on to my first 16-ounce bottle of water. (I think the harder part is going to be to drink the 32 oz of water within the next hour due to bloating, but that part I can totally deal with!!!)"

For Bowel Preparation "Okay, guys and gals, just finished my endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday at 10:30 AM. First off, I'm 65 and never had a colonoscopy before, so anxiety was up... way up. The Suprep worked, and the best tips I can give you are as follows: chill the solution and put it in a container with a top and a straw. Drink it fast with a swig of Mountain Dew as needed to get rid of the taste. Then do 32 ounces of lemon-flavored water within the hour. You will feel bloated. As soon as you get the slightest urge, run to the bathroom. Set up your bathroom with an iPad or tablet, headphones, reading materials, and be prepared to sit for 2 hours or longer. After that, catch some sleep and repeat this the next morning at, say, 4 AM. I had a procedure at 10:30 AM. It is doable. Not pleasant, but doable. They used Demerol for my medication, and it knocked me out. But I did not feel a thing. Now I'm good to go for ten years, as no polyps were found. Best of luck and don't wait as long as I did."

For Bowel Preparation "Initially taking the first cup, the liquid was really salty and a strawberry flavor. It wasn’t too bad, but definitely had to take breaks of ice water in between. I finished the first cup in about 15 minutes and was on the toilet within 30. I did feel bloated but no stomach pain or cramps. The only thing that sucked was I was extremely nauseous for the first hour after drinking the first cup. I sucked on ice cubes and sipped water. It helped a little, the nausea went away after about an hour. I remained on the toilet for about 3 hours. Woke up at 4:30 AM for the second prep. It was harder to get down this time (I think out of fear of throwing up and the nausea I expected), it took me longer to get down the second cup (30 minutes), but I was on the toilet within 20 min. The nausea is not that horrible the second time. I’ve been on the toilet with watery BM since about 5:30 AM. Hopefully I am all cleared out for my colonoscopy (9:30 AM)"

For Bowel Preparation "I’m sitting on the bowel as I type. I’ve only done the first bottle so far. A nurse told me I could do it at 4 and 11 for my 8 a.m. appointment. I started drinking it around 4:10, and it took at least a half hour to get it down. By the end of the cup, I was so nauseated, and I thought I’d lose it. The taste is so awful I can’t even describe it. I had trouble getting the 32 ounces down because I was so bloated. I managed 16 within an hour, and then my stomach started cramping. The cramping got pretty severe, and I called a nurse (who never returned my call). Luckily, things finally started moving after two hours, and I spent about a half hour just hanging out on the toilet while everything literally poured out of me. I’m here again not even 15 minutes after I thought I was done. I dread the next round because of the taste and how nauseous I got. My insurance covered the prescription 100%."

For Bowel Preparation "Followed a low-fiber diet for about five days. Doctor told me to take one Dulcolax pill for two nights prior to the prep. I think this made the prep work more quickly. Anyway, the Suprep... the worst-tasting, vile liquid I ever drank. I was surprised that the majority seemed to not mind the flavor too much. Tastes like cherry cough syrup? NO WAY, but managed to drink it. A thick straw I think is best. The prep itself was fine. First dose I took at 4:30 pm. Started to work within 15 minutes and lasted no more than two to three hours. Second dose around 12 hours later, same results. I had no side effects-no nausea, bloating, vomiting, etc. Seemed to do the job."

For Bowel Preparation "I was pleasantly surprised by how well this went. I read the reviews and followed some of the tips. Berry Propel water to mix the medicine with really helped with the taste. It wasn't bad. I chilled it well and chugged it down. It started to work in 20 minutes. Other than feeling chilled, I was fine. No bad cramping or bloating. I started at 5:00 P.M. and thought I'd be up all night, but by 9:30, I was able to fall asleep and only got up once. Took the 2nd dose at 5:30 A.M. the next day. Same results. My procedure was at 11:30, and everything was great! I squeezed lemon juice into the two glasses of water after each dose, and that helped too. This was WAY better than the prep I did ten years ago! Insurance didn't cover, so Dr. gave me med."

For Bowel Preparation "With this being my first colonoscopy, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my GI office highly recommended Suprep. The taste wasn’t so bad as the texture - it almost felt filmy trying to swallow it. Refrigerating the prep and water to mix it with definitely helped get it down. I mixed it with a Crystal Light packet. I experienced bloating, but no nausea or vomiting (but I did drink it super slowly over a couple of hours per dose). It definitely works, but the texture for me was the worst. I only got down half of the second dose and took a couple of laxative tablets to help finish the job. I started my first dose at 4 pm and the second around 11 pm and was still having BMs when we got to the appointment. Would recommend, but be warned you may have to sleep on the bathroom floor!"

For Bowel Preparation "After reading some of these comments, I was afraid to take this, but it wasn't bad at all. This was my third colonoscopy. I used the pills, Golytely and Suprep this time, and the Suprep was by far the easiest. This is what worked for me: I separated each dose into three portions. I held my nose and drank quickly through two straws. Then, I put a lemon wedge in my mouth. After that, I chewed a piece of cinnamon gum. After a couple of minutes, I repeated this with the other two portions. I tasted grape cough/cold medicine only while swallowing, and it was not terrible at all. And I had no aftertaste. My only problem with this prep was drinking the 32 oz of water due to bloating and slight nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "After reading reviews and prepping five years ago, I expected this to taste terrible. Held my nose while drinking/swallowing, and it wasn't bad at all. Drinking that much liquid (including the water afterward) left me feeling over-hydrated, slight headache, a bit bloated, but hey, you only need to do this once every several years. It was worth it to make sure my colon is in good shape."

For Bowel Preparation "I have used Suprep for 3 colonoscopies over the course of 5 years. Each time, I followed instructions perfectly, including fasting the day before (and morning of) the procedure and drinking all of the vile liquid. The first time, it made me sick, bloated, nauseous, and chilled, but it worked. The second time, it made me just as sick and didn't clean things out as well, but worked well enough. The third time, the first dose caused severe pain and bloating and took SIX HOURS before I had a bowel movement. I was up all night, no sleep. I took the second dose early, worried about how long the first dose took. It barely worked at all. I ended up seriously dehydrated with high blood pressure in the surgery center. My colonoscopy was a failure because the prep was ineffective. I now have to go through prep all over again, this time with a different brand, which I now find out is considered to be more effective."

For Bowel Preparation "I read the comment where you chilled the bottles overnight and drank it with cold water and topped it with a little ginger ale. I did pour the mixture into 2 8 oz cups (added ice) and drank one at a time with a straw. You have to sip it fast, but it wasn't bad. Drinking 2 bottles of water was hard afterwards as I felt a little bloated, but mine worked as soon as I finished my 2nd bottle of water. Did the same in the morning, and it worked before I finished my first bottle of water. My procedure was at noon, so I was getting a hunger headache but got through it. They did find a polyp and removed it. This was my first colonoscopy, and I'm glad it's over, but it wasn't horrible drinking SuPrep. Just follow the above instructions."

For Bowel Preparation "Terrible reaction to this medicine. Severe bloating and cramps. At first, I just figured it was a side effect and would feel better once it started working, the cramps would go away. But it never worked and the cramps got really intense after 5 hours, after drinking Suprep, I was considering going to the emergency room. I didn't have a fever or feel like vomiting, so I decided to stay. But 30 minutes later, I felt weak, dizzy, nauseous, had a dry mouth, and my jaw was going numb. I went to the ER. After vomiting, I felt better. But then I had a bout of hiccups that caused further pain from the cramping. My body couldn't handle the medicine. I did fast, I did all that you're supposed to do."

For Bowel Preparation "I ate light two days prior to taking Suprep. The day of starting Suprep, I drank coffee and Gatorade and had soup broth and green Jello and drank water. I started at 6:00 PM and drank the Suprep in two big gulps. There is no way to tell you how bad it tastes, but I have taken worse. I quickly drank one 16-ounce bottle of water. I felt nauseous and bloated after drinking the second 16-ounce bottle of water. I kept burping and spitting up thick saliva, but I didn't vomit, thank God! It took two hours before it started working for me. I did what someone earlier suggested, and that was camp out in the bathroom until it's over. I set my laptop up and played Sims while sitting on the stool. My stomach rumbled but didn't really cramp that bad. Lasted to 10:"

For Bowel Preparation "Colonoscopy with SuPrep (cost $60.00 with insurance). I drank Smart Water (has electrolytes) the day before. Get lots of quality soft toilet paper and buy flushable wipes (I used Preparation H wipes). Make sure your cell phone is charged. It will entertain you on the toilet. I used water with the SuPrep. Drank it as fast as possible. It has a nasty cherry/salty taste, but just get it down. Then two 16 oz. water glasses. You will feel bloated, but that will subside with the first bowel movement. Took 40 minutes to work, results will vary from 20 minutes to over 2 hours. Be ready by being close to your bathroom. After the first round, I drank Gatorade. Second round, get it down. Once you get to your clinic, things should run fast. 6:30 AM registration, 7:50 AM procedure (took 19 minutes, one small polyp, time will be longer if there is more) out by 8:35 AM! I took extra underwear (didn't need), a sanitary pad, and flushable wipes to the appointment. Remember to disinfect your cell phone when you get home!"

For Bowel Preparation "Not kidding, this stuff tastes fine if you prepare. Put it in the refrigerator the night before you take it so it's chilled, add lemonade Crystal Light to the cup after you dilute it with water, and use a straw. It literally tastes like slightly off yellow Gatorade. I was so worried about taking this because I get nauseous easily on these kinds of meds, but I had zero issues. No nausea, no bloating, no headaches, just the runs. Took one dose at 6 pm the night before, took about 30-45 minutes to kick in then went nonstop for probably 2 hours. After that, it became less frequent until I went to bed around 11. The first one should more or less clear you out. In the morning, I took the second dose around 5:30, same deal. Took about 30-45 minutes, nonstop for probably two hours, then less frequent until I went in for the procedure. Was totally out through the whole thing and had a positive experience overall considering my expectations (this was my first colonoscopy)."

For Bowel Preparation "This was the nastiest stuff I've ever drank. Mixed with cold lemon-lime Gatorade and just had to keep drinking without breathing through my nose till it was gone. Took the first dose at 6:30 pm, and when I took the second dose at 8:30 pm, I almost didn't get it all down. Part of it came back up. Started working 30 minutes after the first dose and worked a lot quicker than I expected. That part I liked. Did have the chills while taking it and felt bloated from all the water, which the water was easy for me to drink that amount of. But that taste... how in the world could some say it even remotely tasted like watered-down grape? Tasted like pure nastiness!!!"

For Bowel Preparation "My experience with Suprep could not have been better. I took the first bottle at 6 pm, I drank it normally (no straw or nose plug) and didn’t find the taste terrible, like a salty cough syrup. However, given the taste is intense, I drank it all at once. I started having bowel movements in about 30 minutes, until almost 11 pm (the most intense phase during the first two hours). I did not sleep much (probably 45-50 minutes) and woke up at 4:45 am for the second bottle. The effect of the second bottle was shorter (by 8 am bowel movements ceased, and at the end, I was only passing water) and I was ready to go to my 9:45 am appointment. No side effects whatsoever: no nausea, no cramps, no bloating. Just painless diarrhea and some weakness on the morning before the exam (probably due to fasting and dehydration). I used shea butter to relieve the skin given the frequent bowel motions."

For Bowel Preparation "Drank the prep, held my nose and chugged, and wow! Was it nasty! I am not fussy and am a just-do-it sort of person, but this stuff was foul. I sucked on an orange wedge right after. The next 32 oz were a breeze. Then came the bloating (a lot) and significant pain. I drank peppermint tea and massaged my belly, and after 40 min I let loose, this after an extra day of liquid diet. Five hours later and still gurgling and gas (running for the loo each time), still not clear. I have a 12 noon appointment and am supposed to take my next dose at 8 am. I think I will move it to 6 am. From what I read here, people finished up pretty quickly. A not as unpleasant experience as 10 years ago, but I could do without the icky flavor and pain. Not looking forward to the next dose."

For Bowel Preparation "I will agree with most users, it tastes horrible. However, nothing you can't chug down, and this is coming from a super taster. I rinsed my mouth with Coca-Cola and sucked on sunflower seeds after each huge gulp. Started seeing results within an hour. I think the trick is to just sit on the pot as soon as your tummy starts rumbling and stay there for a while so you don't get bloated and achy."

For Bowel Preparation "Chugged it down, extra water all at once. Bloated. Worked in about an hour - went on for 3 hours. Took it at 2 am per doctor's orders, including extra water. Worked just about immediately and went on about 2 1/2 hours. Worried about accidents, so couldn't go back to sleep. After colonoscopy today - every time I eat or drink anything, I have an explosive event. I'm starting to think there is no off switch to this."
