Loratadine for Allergic Rhinitis "It was effective for my allergies, however, it caused many side effects that are listed nowhere! Depression, anxiety, confusion, and sleepiness that was so pronounced I had to pull over while driving. This was the Non-drowsy formula. There are 11 other people who had similar reactions in the support in drugs.com group, under the drug name. I'll deal with my allergies rather than end up in the psych ward."

Loratadine for Allergic Rhinitis "Read some of the reviews, says it causes confusion, anxiety, depression. I took it for 2 days. 1st day I didn’t feel anything except my ears started ringing really bad. 2nd day I took it, it caused the worst confusion of my life. Going on the day after and I still feel like rubbish. Don’t take this drug."

Loratadine for Allergic Rhinitis "The first day it was effective, but I started to feel tired and sad. I also suffered from lack of sleep and felt thirsty all the time, even though I drank lots of water. I was not able to do number 2 :-) for 3 days, and I had stomach aches. I stopped taking this drug immediately."

Loratadine for Allergic Rhinitis "It did help with symptoms, but it caused depression for me. Took it for three days, then realized that I had depression. Google Claritin and depression, and the second listing that comes up is a discussion on this website about Claritin from users saying it caused depression for them."

Loratadine for Allergic Rhinitis "I was diagnosed with an allergy-induced sinus infection. I also had really itchy ears and skin patches. The Loratadine helped these problems but caused really serious CNS side effects. My PB was elevated by 30 points (154/93), with a heart rate of 68. I was in a full body shake early in the morning of the fourth day of treatment. I also experienced serious anxiety and depression problems. I stopped taking the meds and the symptoms gradually subsided throughout the day. Not a good choice for me."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have been taking loratadine daily for almost 20 years, and it works great for me. Sometimes I forget to take it or get out of the habit, and after a couple of weeks off of it, my allergy symptoms come back (sneezing, runny nose, inflamed sinuses, puffy eyes, post-nasal drip). When I restart taking it, the allergies stop again. I am allergic to airborne and indoor allergens year-round: dust, mold, cats and dogs (but not rabbits), trees, grasses, pollen - you name it. Year-round allergy issues, but loratadine is so effective that I forget my allergies. (Except to cats, I’m still allergic to cats. I can be around them and pet them, but I should wash my hands well, and sometimes I need to change clothes after being in a cat home.) I’ve read about others having depression and body or back aches, and I don’t connect my depression or aches with loratadine. Good to know, though. My depression is only occasional, and my aches are due to eating gluten and/or refined sugar."

For Urticaria "Oh my goodness, no way! Stay away, this is by far a very dangerous medication for some people. It's made me feel extremely strange and out of body experience. Dizziness, strange head feeling, strange thoughts, paranoia, anxiety, and depression. No one should feel this ill, but to affect your mood is a bit strange. I will not be touching this drug again."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Took 1 (10 mg) tablet of Loratadine at 10:00 AM on 15 June. After around 1 hour of taking the tablet, I was hit in the face with the worst depression and anxiety I have had in a while. The only change was Loratadine, after looking at reviews, I saw many people complaining about this drug's side effects. The side effects: 1) Insomnia 2) Depression 3) Panic attacks 4) Rapid severe heartbeat 5) Sweats 6) Vertigo 7) Bad attitude and thinking patterns. Just the worst side effects I have ever had from any drug!!! I am now on 18 June (3 days later), and I am still feeling weird and sleepy, also finding it very hard to stay asleep for more than a few hours, dry mouth, etc. Stopped after 1 dose, thank goodness for the internet, or I wouldn't have known what was wrong with me and maybe would have carried on taking this drug."

For Allergic Rhinitis "OMG, I don’t think that I ever felt this terrible in my life as I felt during the last 5 days that I took this medication. It caused weird depression and confusion and generally some weird feelings that I don't even know how to explain-like I wasn't entirely in my own body... just so weird. It messed up my sleep-I literally didn't sleep properly the last 5 days, I feel like a zombie. And above all of that, it didn't help much with my rhinitis. I stopped using it today, and I truly hope these terrible side effects will go away soon. Be very careful with this medication, guys!"
