Levocetirizine for Allergies "I'm allergic to things that are both inside and outside on this planet. As far as I know, the only habitable planet that I have no choice but to stay on. My doc recommended Xyzal, I bought it the same day, then read the reviews. I wouldn't take it for 3 weeks after. Out of desperation and suffering, I started 5 days ago. I've slept for approximately 18 hours each day. (I work 12-hour days, so you can assume that I slept quite a bit at work.) When my alarm goes off, I start saying, 'You can do this! Get up, Shelby! Omg, why? Help!' After I wake, I wander around muttering, 'Why am I so tired? Something is wrong, I must be dying.' Not only am I sedated at all times, sleeping on floors and in my car, but I took my children to the park today and fell asleep on the picnic blanket for 2 hours. They could have been kidnapped."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I took one pill at night. I slept all night and all the next day. Do not recommend. I slept all day, so don't even know if it worked for allergies. Nowhere on the package did I see a warning about sleep problems and no additional instructions in the box. Stuck with an expensive product that I cannot use. In my mind, drowsiness is not the same as being sound asleep for over 24 hours."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "Found this medication to be completely ineffective in treating my allergy symptoms. Not only was I up urinating many times during the night, but when I got out of bed, my eyes were tearing, my sinuses were swollen, and I was very drowsy. I believe this drug to be just another heavily promoted batch of promises that simply does not deliver. And yes, this stuff is not inexpensive to say the least. Save your money and just buy the home brand of antihistamine."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "I have been taking Xyzal for nearly 1 year now, and it truly has been my lifesaver. I suffer from extreme seasonal allergies and indoor allergies with all the symptoms: itchy red eyes, itchy ears and feet, sneezing 5 times an hour, congested sinuses, headaches, congestion, hives, and frequent bloody noses. I tried over-the-counter and prescription drugs for nearly 10 years with no success. Xyzal has honestly relieved all my symptoms. I take my dose before bed because it does make me sleepy. I have no problems making it through my workday. I do have a little bit of a dry throat side effect, but that is nothing compared to the misery I was in before."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "This drug made me completely crazy. I started having bad anxiety, then anger and depression. Very bad depression. Horrible headache and fatigue. I lashed out at a coworker and got in trouble. What a disaster. Never again. Going back to Zyrtec."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "I picked this drug up from a pharmacy in Europe and loved it! Of course here (in the USA) you need a Rx, but it's well worth it! Love it! Better than Allegra, Claritin, or anything else I've tried so far! And my allergies on a scale of 1 to 10 are a 12."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "Day 2, throat drainage is much better, although hasn't stopped completely. Congestion in my nose is better as well. No problems with feeling sleepy. Trying this to see if I can avoid deviated septum surgery after being on antibiotics for 3 months for severe sinus infection."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I have severe allergies indoors and out. I cough constantly due to post-nasal drip and an irritated throat. I took Xyzal, and within hours, the coughing stopped! I ran out of pills and took Allegra. The coughing came back the same day. The coughing doesn't go down well with everyone being fearful of the swine flu! I am so thankful to have found Xyzal."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I've been suffering from allergies, manifested mostly in the eyes. Always tearing and watering for years. Ophthalmologist always prescribed different eye drops. Took this medication, levocetirizine, which was prescribed to my wife by her ENT, and it has worked fantastically. Cleared up my eyes with one pill taken 3 days ago and no side effects. Rate it a 10 for my condition..."

For Allergies "I've had allergies all my life, and they get especially bad in the summer. I get completely stuffy, and I can't breathe from my nose at any time, regardless of what I am doing. If I take this, they get better, but not completely gone. My doctor also added Fluticasone, and now my allergy symptoms are completely gone. Claritin-D, Allegra-D, and Zyrtec-D just didn't help."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "The instructions say that you should take it at night as it can cause drowsiness; however, this medication kept me up all night! It also made me feel anxious and weird. And to top it all off, I am still suffering from allergies. Guess it's time to try something else."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "This was recommended to me by a friend who has great success with it. I took just 2 pills, one Wednesday night and one Thursday night before bed. Within 20 minutes of taking Xyzal, my skin got beet red and I developed a fever! The first night I slept weird, but I slept. My cough is about gone and just a little congested. The pill works for that. The 2nd night I slept right through the alarm until 11 am! Needless to say, I missed work. Now I am left with side effects of bloody diarrhea, hives, fever, lightheaded to about passing out. I did not take a 3rd dose last night and am hoping the rest passes out of my body quickly. I do not recommend."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "The very first day I took this medicine, it felt like someone was squeezing my brain. I don't know if my sinuses were that bad or this medicine was a contributor. After reading these reviews, I would not buy or use this product again, and plus, it's way too expensive. I wish I could have given it a 0 rating because a 1 is way more than what they deserve!"

Levocetirizine for Urticaria "Xyzal is horrible. I’ve spent the last 4 years of my life suffering due to side effects of antihistamines. These drugs are all the same thing. They make you feel annoyed, depressed, anxious, exhausted, dizzy, and just like absolute garbage! I thought Xyzal, being the 'newer and better' drug it was marketed to be, would be the miracle to save my life. However, it wasn’t. This drug is just as bad as the rest, possibly even worse. Also, keep in mind that Xyzal is no different than Zyrtec. It’s literally just the left half of Zyrtec, the part of it that actually works. It’s the same drug. If Zyrtec sucks for you, Xyzal will too. Honestly, I’m gonna go back to Claritin. It doesn’t stop my hives completely, but I am at least not a psychotic, depressed maniac on it."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I started using this right after starting immune therapy for indoor and outdoor (perennial) allergies. I had been on Zyrtec, and the additional dose of allergens coming from the shots made me miserable with continual sinus mucus draining/blowing; I tried taking Benadryl (on top of the Zyrtec), but that put me to sleep. The Xyzal stopped the allergic reaction, so I'm on it now for the second month with no side effects, and very happy to have it."

For Allergic Rhinitis "After three sinus infections in a year, my doctor decided to try this drug. How I wish I'd never taken that first pill. Two weeks after I started this 5 mg dose, I noticed I couldn't smell cinnamon pine cones. A week later, I no longer could taste food. It has been over a year, and a visit to an ENT says I won't ever be able to taste or smell again. I want everyone, including physicians, to know if I knew that I would never have the ability to taste and smell, I would have never taken this drug. There are 51 reported cases of this drug doing this to humans, guess I'm number 52."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I have had the worst allergies on record this season. I have tried everything from Claritin to Zyrtec and everything in between. Nothing helped. My post-nasal drip was so bad I felt like I had bronchitis from all of the coughing. I even thought I was going to overdose on my albuterol inhaler because I used it so much because I could not breathe. A friend recommended Xyzal and brought it to my house one day. The symptoms did not go away all at once, but after 2 days on the pill, I feel so much better. I take it around 6 pm every day and I sleep well and wake up perfectly fine the next day. Xyzal has saved me. I hope it lasts and doesn't wear off like Claritin."

Levocetirizine for Urticaria "I have suffered from hives for over 30 years. No medicine helped. I had them for 3 years straight, 24/7. My hives have come back about 4 different times, lasting up to a year. I have been on Xyzal for about 2 months. I take Benadryl, then an hour later I will take the Xyzal. I take Benadryl at bedtime. This is the first time in the 30 years that I feel they are under control. For anyone with chronic hives, it's worth a shot. I have no side effects as of yet. They do not make me tired either."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "It is a very positive medication for severe allergies. I have tried everything OTC and prescription. This is the first that allows me to sleep, without getting up 5 or 6 times a night because of my nose."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I took this pill at bedtime twice, and it kept me awake until after 2:00 a.m. I woke up with worse symptoms than I had before I took the pills. When I woke up, I was stuffed up, and I stayed that way all day long. I also had lots of coughing - unlike my normal cough that is due to post-nasal drip. I also have a bad sore throat. On both Saturday and today, I have tiredness, and I am unable to function. I will go back to my normal medicine in the morning. These pills were a waste of money."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "I have had chronic allergies, and nothing has helped. It would be normal for me to go through a box of Kleenex in a week. The major frustration with my allergies was my itchy feet and ear canals. Although Xyzal is very expensive (my insurance doesn't cover it), it is worth not having the itchy feet and ears that no one thought about."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "I was a happy-go-lucky person, and nothing in the world had bothered me whatsoever. I was on Cetirizine, and it made me tired, so I started to take Xyzal. It worked well at first, then I noticed a change. I couldn’t sleep until about 2-3 in the morning. I was always irritated and paranoid about every little thing. One day, I had a complete anxiety and panic breakdown. I thought that it was something different, but after the reviews, I realized it was the allergy medication. It made me believe it was something else, and it wasn’t. I don’t recommend this medication at all."

Levocetirizine for Allergic Rhinitis "I think this drug is probably the best thing for people with severe allergies. I tried everything before Xyzal, and I finally stumbled upon this through my doctor, and I am so happy I did. Now I can actually wake up and go through the day without sneezing, coughing, or getting a head cold."

Levocetirizine for Urticaria "I have had chronic hives for a year and a half. It's awful. I have been taking Xyzal for almost a year now. Xyzal works to eliminate the itching and rashes, but it makes me very tired. If I take it during the day, I feel tired. If I take it before bed, I have difficulty waking up and getting started. It also makes me feel down, just not myself. I have not found anything better to help with my rash outbreaks, so I do continue to use it."

Levocetirizine for Allergies "I feel absolutely horrible. I ran out of Zyrtec, my son takes this, so I figured I'd try it. On day two, I feel a combination of having a concussion and a hangover all at one time. I'm fatigued, dizzy, and have a headache. This does not include the pressure I feel in my sinuses. I feel absolutely horrible. I'm done, I won't take this again. I'm honestly not even sure the FDA should have approved this drug."
