For Uterine Fibroids "Received a 3-month injection 8/20 for heavy bleeding due to fibroids. Did not stop bleeding/spotting until the middle of October. Now I need another dose, and the price jumped from $10 (promo fee) to $1,100-$3,000. Needless to say, I cannot afford the next round. Also had a headache for the full 3 months. However, my doctor said it did shrink my fibroid enough to get the ablation I need."

"My prostate cancer was treated with radiation in 2003 but came back around 2013, and PSA has climbed all the way to 14.8 now in 2020, so thought it was time to try something. Lupron gave me horrible side effects, including severe hot flashes, about 2 every hour, 24/7, nausea, dizziness, tiredness, weight gain, constant urination, very low libido, etc. On the positive side, I only had one 3-month shot, and my PSA went from 14.8 down to 0.3, however, I am not going to take another shot and will see how it goes. Will try to eat and exercise better."

For Endometriosis "I've been on Lupron twice in 6 years. The first time was 2008, and I didn't experience any symptoms. I was extremely happy about that. Like most of you reading, all the side effects had me a little on edge. The second time my doctor suggested that I get on it (Dec 2014), I agreed with no problem. Hoping that will be the same experience as the first time. Ohhhhhh, but it wasn't. I had hot flashes, night sweats, and weight gain. I couldn't wait until those 6 months were over. Unlike the first time, 3 months off Lupron, my cycle started, and 2 weeks later, two cysts, 7.5 cm. I was devastated and in so much pain, and before you knew it, I was having surgery. I'm 2 days fresh out of the hospital on Lupron again. I pray this time I have a different outcome."

For Female Infertility "Extreme headaches! Lupron - I started the medication 5 days ago, and starting on day 3, I began getting really bad headaches, and it doesn't seem to ever go away. I cannot take Advil, so I'm not sure if that would help. I tried taking a nap, but I wake up, and it's still there. Never had this problem before, so I'm certain it's the Lupron. Other than that, I have no other complaints."

"I was given Lupron depo for my endometriosis. My husband and I had been having issues having a baby. I was supposed to have 3 shots total. After the first shot, it wrecked me. It messed with my bowels, my period was more painful than ever, body pain, insomnia, and extreme fatigue, one night I had to call 911. My skin was burning from the inside out, and my heart started racing to the point where I could barely breathe, and my heart was palpitating. I refused the next 2 shots. Since then, I've continued to have bone and joint pain, fuzziness, I can't retain thoughts or remember simple words. My teeth became really sensitive. It caused nothing but hardship."

"This did not work. I was supposed to take it for 3 months, but one dose in, and the side effects outweighed the possible payoff. I experienced an increased sex drive (the opposite of the listed side effects), anxiety (still there 10 months later), and other mental health problems. Lost my period, but not until 2 months after the injections, and then it became hit or miss for several months. The worst decision I ever made was trusting a doctor who suggested this."

"Was diagnosed 9 years ago, PSA 29. Had prostate removed in 2013, then PSA went up again, so had 37 radiation treatments. PSA started to rise again and after 7 years went up to 8.4. Started Lupron February 2022. PSA dropped to 0.3, which is good. Unfortunately, side effects eliminated sex life and now very weak/fatigued, so makes any exercise difficult and painful. Feet and legs hurt a lot when a hot flash starts, which happens up to a few times per hour, 24/7. This wakes me up all night. I guess I shouldn't complain as it is probably keeping me alive. I get 3 or 4 month shots."

For Prostate Cancer "Given all the things that testosterone regulates in the male body, none of the side effects are unexpected. My blood work indicates that it’s working. The hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, and mild vertigo (among other side effects) subsided in a few months, just in time for the next every-four-month injection."

"I've only been taking this medicine for 7 months, so it might be too soon for me to tell if it's working. I guess if the cancer doesn't come back, then it's doing its job. I have noticed the relentless fatigue I'm experiencing."

For Prostate Cancer "The worst effect (in combination with Zytega and prednisone) is numbness of the feet and ankles, and intense tingling of legs. Both effects make sleeping nearly impossible. Also, weakness, muscle and joint pain, and atrophy of testicles. I take two Zytega tablets and one prednisone tablet daily. My PSA is consistently less than 0.04, which I believe is the detection limit. I have been taking these meds for 9 months post-surgery and radiation."

For Prostate Cancer "I have been on Lupron for 20 months now, and it reduced my PSA from .64 to undetectable. The side effects for me have been hot flashes a couple of times a day, loss of body hair, 20 pounds of weight gain, and complete loss of my sexual function and appetite. I will be going off Lupron when this shot wears off in a couple of months. I have been receiving the 6-month shot. I am 67 years old and have high-risk prostate cancer, have had my prostate removed, and went through 38 rounds of radiation. I feel I am doing as well as can be expected and do everything I like to do minus my libido. Good luck to all!"

For Prostate Cancer "The 7 months of treatment I am on, along with 9 weeks of radiation, appears to be working well. My PSA (with stage 3 prostate cancer) went from 7+ to 0.05. That said, I am fighting brain fog, fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of sexual interest, nearly chronic dry cough, general itching, and joint and muscle pain. Looking forward to the product wearing off starting around 6 weeks from now. Strongly recommend resistance exercise, it helps a great deal!"

For Prostate Cancer "I have been on Lupron for 16 (of scheduled 18 months) to help suppress the return of prostate cancer. So far, the cancer is resolved. The side effects for me have been tiredness, mild depression, leg weakness and mild leg pain, mental fog, weakened memory, diminished thought clarity, significant muscle reduction, and lack of energy. Also, occasional diarrhea. Use was probably effective as cancer has not returned."

For Prostate Cancer "I was diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer. I opted for complete removal of the prostate and follow-up treatment of ADT and radiation treatment. My first injection was June 2023, and the second was January 2024. PSA test every three months since the first injection, and PSA was 0.00. I experienced many of the normal side effects from the Lupron injections, the worst has been the fatigue, joint pain, sweats, and hot flashes. It has been almost a year since my last injection. I still have some lingering side effects, with the worst and most often the sweats and hot flashes."

"I am 30 years old when I first discovered that I have a 6.9 cm uterine fibroid from my ultrasound since I am 2 months pregnant. I feel like my fibroid is getting bigger as I bear my baby. After a month, I had a miscarriage. My OB told me that it was because of my fibroid. So this March, after my first period, she gave me the first shot of Lupron. I didn't feel any pain in my abdomen until the last shot this August. Hoping that the medicine would at least make the size of the fibroid 50% smaller. Unfortunately, my fibroid got an inch bigger, from 7.8 to 8.9 cm. The next step now is myomectomy since I still want to have babies in the future. Until now (November), I still don't have my period. I am very much worried. The OB says that my period will be back 2 months after my last shot, but up to now, I don't have my period. I'm beginning to feel abdominal pain again, like the feeling of having your first day of menstruation, almost 3 weeks already. Please advise me what my next step is."

For Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after my first laparoscopy in June 2015. Following my first surgery, I started Lupron injections in hopes of slowing the endo growth. I had three rounds of Lupron causing terrible side effects, which included, but were not limited to: fatigue, night sweats, mood swings, joint pain, severe abdominal pain, lack of sex drive, natural lubrication, and anxiety. In December 2015, my second laparoscopy and six months of Lupron left me with stage 3 endometriosis. The doctor wanted to continue with six more months of Lupron and another surgery. I declined such an offer. I am very unhappy with how this drug affected my life. My body will never be the same after Lupron. Don't take this drug."
